I want to believe there will be a lot of sieving and filtering for the GT candidates because some people were unable to do the test in the physical locations across the country because they did not meet some requirements while those who did not meet the requirements and did picked online were able to do the test since there was no one to fact check them.

Such people will have to be filtered first so it might take a while to hear from them.

Same applies to EH

This is correct. What I'm now asking is how you interpolated the comp for this year as being X2, I was imagining it would be like x1.4 given inflationary pressures but if your source says those numbers are correct I agree with you
It's x1.6
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Exxonmobil Graduate Engineer Trainee by haftob(m): 1:38pm On Mar 18
ExpertNLer:
This EM opportunity should be 3x times that for GT at least but more inclined to think it would be 4x or 5x given inflationary pressures.
should be almost x4.5 based on current calculations

Yes, there were two variants of the regret mail and both contain exactly the same information except for a phrase "at this time" which was present in one of the variants.

Please I got mail for test invite at Total energies today. The role is production operator and I'm to write next week.

Please I need information about the compensation for attendees because the only means I can follow is to go on land and return by air. I'm going from Lagos.

Please I need advice and info from those who have done their test before. I really want to go but that's the most possible means I could follow because I must return back to Lagos the day I'm writing my test. I mean it's a must.

Please, is it worth the effort and spending. Will I be compensated up to what I want to spend or even close. I need help pls

You will most likely not be reimbursed for any cost at this stage of the recruitment. If you will be reimbursed, it's most likely not at the venue, you will be asked to send evidence of travelling costs and your account details to an email that you will be given at the venue and then they decide to pay u or not. What is most likely is that you won't be paid.

However, that should not deter you going for the test if you have the means because the opportunity is a life-changing one. I believe you have a big chance of getting the job.

Am surprised when peeps talk about FG's hardship , Forex saga, economy unstable. With subsidy removed implies alot of money available evidently the recent pallaitives given to each state that amounted to billions of naira.
Who told you FG doesn't have money? Unbelievable your self consolation is producing this negativity.

PTDF's OSS award will happen!

Read story books or watch marathon TV series to keep you alive untill the list is out.

The FG does not even directly fund PTDF. PTDF is majorly funded by something called "signature bonus", it's the money paid by licensees when they're first allocated oil blocs before they can start anything on the bloc. This money is in dollars and is paid to NUPRC (formerly DPR) and they transfer the percentage that the law says should be given to PTDF to PTDF's account. So there's nothing like FG doesn't have money to give PTDF or there's no forex, PTDF doesn't collect budgetary allocations from FG and the money that funds PTDF is already in dollars.

Soon, I will be commenting from afar.

Exchange rate is affecting everyone includes PTDF and TETFUND.

TETFUND applicants have moved on already.

NDDC applicants have moved on already.

The "Fund" in PTDF is money in dollars not naira. So forex can never be PTDF's problem. The delay is most likely as a result of approval not yet gotten from the new ministers, they are now two (not one anymore). They're probably still trying to settle down and I believe scholarship list from PTDF will be one of the last things on their agenda at the moment.

The speculations, the assumptions, the manipulations, the presumptions, the conjectures, the confusion,
Guys just calm down and continue to wait until you either receive the success email or not. It's as simple as that.

It's unfortunate for most especially the MSc prospects that should've been ready to start this September. PTDF knows better.

And for those that received the SCAM email , information is usually captured from attendance that some centres took. Usually bad eggs are always amongst us even during other jobs interviews that afterwards they begin the scam-manipulate thier victims.
And for the victims, during this era how on earth do you have the kobo & naira that can be scammed from you? How?. The money with me is only spendable and not scammable, do not even dare to reach me for i'll continue to ne unreachable for you.

There is God woo.

If there's something that I'm sure of, it's that the scam email most likely emanated from the guys at PTDF. This is because the corruption in our govt agencies is abnormal. They get some outsiders to act as agents for them and engage their audience. It's an open secret about how govt job slots are sold in many agencies including PTDF. So I won't be surprised if they're selling scholarship award slots too but I bliv it's a special case and it's always on merit. With what I've experienced as regards corruption, nepotism and impunity in our govt institutions, I bliv any nonsense is possible.

It's even possible that it's people that already got the award on merit that were sent the mail so as to get money from them under the guise that they were helped to get the scholarship. Or maybe where there's a tie, they use that to decide who to go for.

Yes, there was a particular year the list was released towards the end of September. Awardees were asked to report at Abuja for induction, those with admissions and passports were asked to submit them for UK visa and they were flown to the UK after the induction. The rest were asked to wait till January.

Romance / Re: Her First Child Is Mine And Not The Husband's by haftob(m): 5:28pm On Aug 09, 2023
Dexy4yah:
I dated this lady for few years... doing our courtship we had unprotected sex.
I later relocated to another state because of my studies....that's how the relationship died.

She later got married

After about 13years of not hearing from eachother....one day my phone rang and behold she was the one...she called to tell me a secret...she said her first child is mine and not her husband's.
That doing our courtship she took in, she tried to abort it but it didn't work out for her, she didn't tell me about it because she knew that i was not ready to father a child at that time.

It was at that moment that she met this guy who is now her husband...the guy hasten everything and got married to her...she made him believe that the pregnancy is his own whereas that's was not the true...the boy is 8years old now.
She said her conscience has been disturbing her that's why she opened up to me.

I told her never to let the husband know about it and let the child be the husband's own....let her just forget everything about me being the father of the child so that her marriage won't crumble.
She has a loving husband and she is blessed with three kids aside the boy.

But she made one comment that when the boy reach 22years she will tell him who his real father is....she insisted. But am against it, i told her not to try it because if she end up telling the boy about it there is every possibility that the husband will end up knowing about it and i wonder how he is going to react towards it.

(Women can keep secret sha)
Please i hope i did the right thing??

u've done well, that child doesn't belong to you. Islamically, a child born outside wedlock belongs to the mother and not the man that impregnated her.

Career / Re: Tech Job Or U.K Fully Funded Scholarship by haftob(m): 9:48am On Aug 08, 2023
Iboyx:
Hi guys,
So I'll keep this as short as possible hoping to get your advice.

So I landed a software engineer role in one of the most popular fintechs in Africa, a remote role and it pays about 200k for a start.

I also have a fully funded scholarship to the UK(biological sciences) with stipends of about 900Β£ monthly but you must come back to Ng if at the end of the programme you do not already have a job.

I know that all things being equal in the software job in a couple of years say 3 years I should be able to triple that amount, I know guys that have done similar.

The risk of going to the UK is being stranded at the end of the programme. Worst part is the msc is not in the I.T industry. I know guys that have picked up second msc degrees cause of no job and they don't want to come back

I'm very passionate about the IT industry, I literally thought my self

What do you guys advice.ooking forward to your input. Thank you

Move to the UK, u'll easily get a remote software role that u can combine with Ur studies.

This would have been a dream come true for me. I trusted God for this job, I tried to prepare in the best possible ways and thought it will end in praise but I guess my best wasn't enough, if only I had the power to go 3months back in time, I know the exact things I did wrong and should have done better. I don't know what the future holds for my dream of working in oil & gas but it's all good, I know his plans for me are for good not evil. gracias NLNG for the experience.

For posterity: Know that the people that will finally get the job are not those that needed it the most but those that are well prepared for the assessments.

I think it's more of luck and ultimately God's grace, so many factors were in consideration so anyone could av gotten the offer.

Is it norms for companies not to send regret mails to applicants not successful at AC? I applied a Job and we know they have contacted some people , even though we were all asked to submit our Degree and NYSC Certificate after AC.
It may mean decisions are not fully made yet and they might still need to call more people.
