I think most universities will send out decisions within this month

Divinehenrich:
Please, have universities in Norway start giving out admission for master's degrees this 2023.
Like the University of Stavanger, NTNU, etc

What's the advantage of the UK over NORWAY? None !

Minimum wage and JObs availabilty- Norway Wins

Years of study and Post-study- Uk 1 year, 2 years Post-study... Norway 2 years, 1 year post-study

Finance - Uk more expensive, Norway has free education

One question, are you in Norway or UK?

It doesn't take long, just send the school a mail. I will estimate 2week at most. They are very responsive.

I have a bf and we were planning life in the UK before I got this Norwegian offer. I really wanna have the scheghen visa but I’m weighing my options based on life after school and opportunities available to me.

Confusion confusion confusion!

If you have the funds go to UK.

Hello house. I have a question which may sound funny but consider this scenario: if I apply to 2 schools, one bachelor one MSc and I get accepted to both schools, and I accept both offers. Can I use the masters acceptance to process Visa then resume in Norway for the bachelors programme?

When you go for your renewal, the school you are studying in has to send an appraisal letter to UDI. That's where your problem will start.

Hy Guys
Please I have passport expiring by 20th march.

Now I have gotten admission and will likely be submitting my details by June.

Now my question is, since I'd likely have 9months validity from submission date, hope it won't affect my UDI application?

Someone said that we must have 18months passport validity before applying to UDI.

Please who knows much about this

Please renew your passport before applying. You need to have at least 1yr validity

Hi guys,
The required laptop specifications from USN are a bit higher than the laptop I use currently.
Can I move with it like that to Norway?

Thanks

You can get laptop here when you arrive at affordable price, especially for people living in and around Oslo. I can't say for other places, otherwise just buy from Nigeria.

Hello comrade, please I want you to please explain more on this point "(it's not so easy staying back after graduation tbh". You know our intension for japa is not to come back but rather stay back and get a greener pasture over their.

Now, how difficult is it to stay back in Norway after study? and what step can one take before time to ease the difficulty in settling back after school.

Are their Nigerians who settle back in Norway after study and what is the percentage.

What about getting job after study? Is their enough available jobs that even as a foreigner, you won't have to stay long after graduation before landing a professional job.

What skill is mostly selling over? Sorry for my many question bro, just want to get prepared and be sure of what I'm about to embarked on

Hello, I would start by saying that there are 3 ways of staying back here. One is by getting a corporate job mostly within your field of study, secondly is through PHd, and finally by marriage to a Schengen citizen/ permanent resident.

The first which is getting a job is not easy because there are so many underlying factors that come into play e.g language (you have to be very proficient in Norwegian, both speaking and reading), racial bias, and discipline. Most people end up being disqualified by one or all of these factors, except for those in the "sought after" disciplines like engineering, IT, Data Science etc. With a degree in these disciplines your chances are much higher than those in the administrative courses.

Secondly, getting a PhD position is not easy to come by either because your grades have to be excellent all through your studies, even if you do get the grades the PhD positions are always very few slots maybe just 2 in a department and you have to compete with other good European brains as well for the position.

Finally is the marriage, and believe me when I say that marrying a Norwegian is so rare that no one even considers it. Unless maybe it's a black who was born here or a European that is living here permanently maybe a swedish or polish. It's not even advisable unless maybe you find "love".

Nigerians don't stay back here after studies, most of them save up and move to Canada or UK from here. So it's just like a transit point. The few that are here came here a long time ago when Europe was still very liberal.

If you want to stay you must be prepared to learn the language, have good grades and pray for God's favor.

I don't know if I answered all your questions but this is how far I can go.

I don't think your output response on the reason Norwegian Embassy doesn't issue visa to undergraduate candidates is true ok
No one knows the reason, and that's best to them.
They don't award/give undergraduate visa to foreigners irrespective of your country.
They only issue such to EU,EEA and permanent residents living in Norway.
So I guess your Zimbabwean friend is a product of permanent residence permit.

It's really funny how you know my friend more than me. Well, everyone to his/her opinion.

My main question about this Norway is about the clause UDI.no put in their checklist stating that it will be difficult to get study permit for those who want to come and study bachelors degree or bsc. What's the way forward should we just risk that huge money $650 and all for the visa application or any tips on how to get a positive visa response. Pls we really need to talk about it. Pioneers where una they o? Note- this is actually for Nigerians tho

Frankly speaking, it's a huge risk with greater negative probability of being granted a permit. There are options tho but it's energy and financially draining. Norway sees bachelors degree route as a pathway to having a prolonged stay in the country which they do not want especially for Nigerians. Bachelors degree is 3yrs, definitely the person goes for Msc which is 2yrs and then job seeker another 1yr all together 6yrs. Chances are that you have already blended into the system and even learnt the language which will enable you to get a professional job, stay back and even bring your wife after a couple of years you are due for citizenship. They know this and they don't want it that explains the clause.
Some people however, go as far as migrating temporarily to neighboring African countries just to apply from there to improve their chances. I have a Zimbabwean friend here studying bachelors in an English taught course so that explains it.
There are very few courses taught in English for bachelors in some schools. For example NMBU (I think it's global development studies or international relations am not so sure) most of these category of courses are always taught in English because it's an international program.
You can explore these options and hope for the best.

1. Download Duolingo app (fantastic app for language learning) and choose Norwegian. Do 30 minutes of exercises every day. You can download excercises to do them offline.
2. Use NTNU's beginner's course found at: https://www.ntnu.edu/now/info/guide. Exercises can be downloaded.
3. For online learning, go to https://www.reddit.com/r/norsk/ (here there is a wealth of resources and you can also ask questions).
4. For more online learning, download Discord and join a Discord learning server (here you can voice chat and text people live). See a short list here: https://www.reddit.com/r/norsk/comments/qdwxsi/is_there_a_learning_norwegian_discord_server/

Yes the school will give you an invoice bearing all the details for the transfer. It's best if you can use Bank form A which I hear now is done online. In the meantime, you can start making enquiry of the reliability of the new process in the bank.
Sourcing for USD in the black market is more expensive an Ill advised.
Cheers. See you all soon.

Generally to all who applied last year, you have taken the bold step and I believe your admission letters are being prepared. I wish I was here earlier to advice during the admission rounds, nevertheless like they say "better late than never".
Am sure most of you had multiple applications, because not every where in Norway is "okay" from my experience. Just like Nigeria, location plays a big role, you can't compare Lagos to Kwara or ebonyi (I mean no disrespect).
Thus, if you have applications sent to UIO,OSLOMET,UIS,UIB,NMBU maybe NTNU and UIA kindly prioritize accepting their admission over any other schools. These areas are developed or in close proximity to developed cities.
Please if you will borrow, go for interest free loans (it could really be difficult in the first 3months of your stay getting a job especially if you're not staying in Oslo or Stavanger).
In all, Norway is a good place and I will encourage anyone to come but have a "plan" (it's not so easy staying back after graduation tbh).
This is my little inexhaustive contribution. I'll try to reply some "important" questions because most of the questions asked here have already been answered in the thread, some people just find it difficult reading previous pages.
Cheers!!

Good day Sir, trust you are doing great? We like to know if there is a possibility of moving same time with my family upon securing admission as a student. How did your’s go? Did you wait after one year for family migration or you moved same time with your spouse?

I believe you can leave with your family especially now that the restrictions have been lifted in Norway. Before now they only permitted the student to leave first before their family can join them due to COVID-19, but I believe now, they will process your family visa all at once. Cheers and don't be discouraged.

I'm making plans to apply for schools once the admission window is open in October. I have been denied visit visa in the past from the Uk four times, will this affect my chance of getting a student visa into Norway?

Hi. Please can someone with a gpa of 2.8 go through this route? Asking for myself because I'm ready to pay the 5.5m but just wondering if I'd get admission to any school with that gp. I'm going for Masters in Business Adminstration.

There are alot of things the admissions committee take into consideration not necessarily CGPA. For example they lay more emphasis on your grades in your core departmental courses or better still courses that are related to the course u studied during your B.sc and that which u are applying for in ur M.sc. So if u had good grades in such courses u may have a fair chance.

My advice however is, focus your application on less competitive schools and courses, it's better to try and fail than not try at all.

Cheers!!

This means that Transcripts processing would be halted temporarily.

Please elders in the house is it wise to send transcripts before they start receiving applications. UIS for instance opens up arnd Dec 10 so can one send now??

pls gurus in the house where can I get this letter confirming my eligibility for student loan in my country

is it in the bank

and please will this be better than looking for where to borrow 5mil and giving them bank statement

has anyone used this letter

Well am not certain where this letter can be obtained and I really doubt if any one has used it successfully.
I am however certain that printing a statement in your name has worked countless times for those who have walked this path successfully.

Cheers.

You're Green to go with UiS and NMBU. Only Oslo demands Ielts letter. You can mail Oslo telling them your challenges like ielts exam has been postponed indefinitely and besides you completed your Bsc in an English speaking country and English was the mode of instruction. They should understand...

Rounding off,UiS and NMBU exempted us from any English tests.

Namaste.

Obrigado
Let's wait for Dec then.
