Do your research and find out why the foreign foolanis who run the customs, NPA, NIWA etc will never let Eastern ports work. The joke is you bloody one nigeria mugus.

People like you never proffer reasonable solutions without resorting to insults.. if you've conducted proper research, you would have known that a fulani woman gave 10% discount for vessels calling at eastern ports just to attract patronage of those ports. Your research should further cite reasons why importers preferred Lagos over eastern ports, since most of you believed that all cargoes imported to the country are for the eastern region.
Car Talk / Re: My First Experience Picking Up A Car From Tincan Port, Lagos To Port Harcourt by Haishophem(m): 5:03am On Sep 17, 2021
It's so unfortunate that extortion by men in uniform has become the order of the day that we sadly gave to live with.

On the eastern ports, I'd rather ask why importers prefer Lagos as their port of call instead of calling at the ports closest to them. Cos the last time I checked, Rivers state has 2 functional ports (Port harcourt and Onne port).

The package was delivered the third day after the chat to British Embassy in Abuja according to the guy that got in touch with me. That's the latest format from those scammers cos I've known other folks that have received such chat.

The waterways are not as porous as you imagined. I believe the warship is on a friendly mission. FYI, there is constant navy patrol along calabar channel while the presence of Nigerian naval warship on the high sea would have done the needful had it been the said warship is not on a friendly visit.

That is like asking why I wake up and go to work in the morning and you go smoking weed?
It is called choice. Why do Italy France and Holland have AGIP, TOTAL and SHELL when they have no oil and Nigeria has the moribund NNPC ? Because they make smart choices.
Why do your children have polio while mine are healthy. .?
I hope that helps
The company is a business it is not limited to Lagos or Nigeria oil.Just like you have the right to start such a business so does Lagos State , There is nothing stopping other states doing so whether alone or in combination /partnership with other entities individual corporate or governments and if they do they are free to compete with SHELL and others. This is not limited to oil and gas but ANY OTHER BUSINESS whether Telecommunications, Aviation, Banking etc.Everything Dangote is doing a state government can do.The problem with Niger Delta Leaders is they lack imagination

You shouldn't have replied the guy as he seems not to be ready to engage in an intellectual discussion. It's so pathetic seeing that some people's sense of reasoning have been clouded with hate. I couldn't figure out how he concluded that there's a law stopping other states from investing in the oil and gas business. He needs to be lectured that Ibile oil and gas corporation is just a business entity which any state or individual can also venture into. This type of mindset displayed by the guy is what is keeping Nigeria and Africa backward

Someone that doesn't show any iota of concern to the plight of his people should be respected? Do you know wat it means to stay idle for a month talk less staying for 8 months. Some elders that doesn't act in a way to earn respect needs to be shown a full fledged disrespect. We respect them a lot doesn't mean they should take us for a ride. Nairaland / General / I Need Answers To These Questions by Haishophem(m): 8:25pm On Dec 19, 2016
Some events happening in the country lately brought series of unanswered questions to mind which are:

1. Why live in a country where the love of money so is strong to the extent that the desperate ones see their fellow human as sacrificial lamb to satisfy their lust for money.
2. Why live in a country where our pretty young ladies are subjected to fear of where to go and where not to.
3. Why our able bodied young guys chose to look for the shortest and dangerous way to satisfy their lust for money.
4. And I wonder how we got to the stage where a boy less than 10 years old was asked what he'd like to become but gave yahoo yahoo as his future ambition.
5. Why we are in a country where we caution our innocent young children on who to talk to and who not to.
6. Why we live in a country where you can not show a kind gesture to another fellow without the recipient having another thought whether u meant well or not.
7. Why we live in a country where we are so cautious of the person sitting next to us in a public transport or at a park.
8. Why we live in a country where u see a less privilege on the street and you're scared to render help cos you're scared whether he/she is a ritualist.
9. Why live in a country where our little children can't play around with other kids without having the thought that one kidnapper is lurking around the corner.
10. And why live in a country where the society keeps quiet and fail to identify the perpetrators of the evil acts happening around or raise alarm when they suspect an unusual act from some people.

Seeing some gory pictures online about innocent people that have been killed lately for one reason or the other makes me wonder if we're still living in those dark ages or in an INSANE society where some people chose not to understand what it worths to be human.

People chose to stay quiet and show less concern because they are not affected, but they show much attention when they feel the pain.
We really need a change of thought and attitude about how we see life and our fellow human.

It's really sad to admit that "WE LIVE IN A WORLD WHERE MAN IS SO UNKIND TO MANKIND".
Politics / Basic Truth Which Every Nigerian That Love Nigeria Ought to Read and Reflect On by Haishophem(m): 10:58pm On Aug 28, 2016
Found this interesting piece on Facebook this night and I found it worth sharing to you all... It's a bit long though but I hope we read through..

http://BASIC TRUTH WHICH EVERY NIGERIAN THAT LOVES NIGERIA OUGHT TO READ WITH PATIENCE AND REFLECT ON.

FORGET WHAT FOREIGN FRIENDS MAY THINK OR SAY, THINK ABOUT IT SERIOUSLY.

The biggest country in Africa that the United Kingdom colonized is Nigeria. The biggest country that the United Kingdom colonized in Asia is India (which then comprised the present Pakistan and Bangladesh). When the UK came into Nigeria and India, like all other countries they colonized, they brought along their technology, religion (Christianity), and culture: names, dressing, food, language, etc.

Try as hard as the British did, India rejected the British religion, names, dressing, food, and even language, but they did not reject the British technology. Today, 80.5% of Indians are Hindus; 13.4% Muslims; 2.3% Christians; 1.9% Sikhs; 0.8% Buddhists, etc. Hindi is the official language of the government of India, but English is used extensively in business and administration and has the status of a “subsidiary official language.” It is rare to find an Indian with an English name or dressed in suit.

On the other hand, Nigeria embraced, to a large extent, the British religion, British culture – names, dressing, foods, and language – but rejected the British technology. The difference between the Nigerian and the Indian experiences is that while India is proud of its heritage, Nigeria takes little pride in its heritage, a situation that has affected the nationalism of Nigerians and our development as a nation. Before the advent of Christianity, the Arabs had brought Islam into Nigeria through the North. Islam also wiped away much of the culture of Northern Nigeria. Today, the North
has only Sharia Courts but no Customary Courts. So from the North to the South of Nigeria, the Western World and the Eastern
World have shaped our lives to be like theirs and we have lost much or all of our identity.

Long after the British and Arabs left Nigeria, Nigeria has waxed strong in religion to the extent that Nigerians now set up religious branches of their home-grown churches in Europe, the Americas, Asia and other African countries. Just like the Whites brought the
gospel to us, Nigerians now take the gospel back to the Whites. In Islam, we are also very vibrant to the extent that if there is a blasphemous comment against Islam in Denmark or the US, even if there is no violent reaction in Saudi Arabia, the Islamic headquarters of the world, there will be loss of lives and destruction of property in Nigeria.

If the United Arab Emirates, a country with 75% Muslims, is erecting the tallest building in the world and encouraging the world to come and invest in its country by providing a friendly environment, Boko Haram ensures that the economy of the North (and by extension that of Nigeria) is crippled with bombs and bullets unless every Nigerian converts to Boko Haram’s brand of Islam. We are indeed a very religious people. Meanwhile, while we are building the biggest churches and mosques, the Indians, South Africans, Chinese, Europeans and Americans have taken over our key markets: telecoms, satellite TV, multinationals, banking, oil and gas, automobile, aviation, shopping malls, hospitality, etc.

Ironically, despite our exploits in religion, we are a people with little godliness, a people without scruples. It is rare to do business with a Nigerian pastor, deacon, knight, elder, brother, sister, imam, mullah, mallam, alhaji or alhaja without the person laying landmines of bribes and deception on your path. We call it PR, facilitation fee, processing fee, transport
money, financial engineering, deal, or whatever. But if it does not change hands, nothing gets done. And when it is amassed, we say it is “God’s blessings.” Some people assume that sleaze is a problem of public functionaries, but the private sector seems to be worse than the public sector these days.

One would have assumed that the more churches and mosques that spring up in every nook and cranny of Nigeria, the higher the
morals in our society. But it is not so. The situation is that the more religious we get, the baser we become. Our land never knew the type of bloodshed experienced from religious extremists, political desperadoes, ritual killers, armed robbers, kidnappers, internet scammers, university cultists, and lynch mobs. Life has become so cheap and brutish that everyday seems to be a bonanza.

We import the petroleum that we have in abundance, rice and beans that our land can produce in abundance, and even toothpicks that primary school children can produce with little or no effort. Yet we drive the best of cars and live in the best of edifices, visit the best places in the world for holidays and use the most expensive electronic and telecoms gadgets. It is now a sign of poverty for a Nigerian to ride a saloon car. Four-wheel drive is it! Even government officials, who were known to use only Peugeot cars as official cars as a sign of modesty, have upgraded to Toyota Prado, without any iota of shame, in a country
where about 70 per cent live below poverty. Private jets have become as common as cars. A nation that imports toothpicks and pins, flaunts wealth and wallows in ostentation at a time its children are trooping to Ghana, South Africa and the UK for university education
and its sick people are running to India for treatment.

India produces automobile and exports it to the world. India’s medical care is second to none, with even Americans and Europeans
travelling to the country for medical treatment. India has joined the nuclear powers. India has launched a successful mission to the moon. Yet bicycles and tricycles are common sights in India. But in Nigeria, only the wretched of the earth ride bicycles. I have intentionally chosen to compare Nigeria with India rather than China, South Korea, Brazil, Malaysia, or Singapore, because of the similarities between India and Nigeria. But these countries were not as promising as Nigeria at the time of our independence.

Some would say that our undoing is our size: the 2012 United Nations estimate puts Nigeria’s population at 166 million, while India has a population of 1.2 billion. Some would blame it on the multiplicity of ethnic groups: we have 250 ethnic groups; India has more than 2000 ethnic groups. Some would hang it on the diversity in religion: we have two major religions – Christianity and Islam; but India has many. Some would say it is because we are young as an independent nation: we have 52 years of independence; India has 65 years, while apartheid ended in South Africa only in 1994.

I am a Christian, and nothing can change me from Christianity. But I think that our country is daily sinking into religiosity to the detriment of godliness. Our land is sick and needs healing. “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” is still a saying that is germane to our current situation. We need more godliness than religion; more work and less hope; and more action and less words. Let everyone tidy up his or her corner first and demand fervently that our leaders tidy their areas of governance. Our nation is degenerating at a fast pace and we need to save it now.

God bless the writer and the reader. Please share with fellow Nigerians!

Politics / Re: FG Orders Massive Importation Of Kerosene, Say Marketers by Haishophem(m): 10:27am On Aug 19, 2016
The government seems to be out of option for now as there seem not to be any known policy in place. To those complaining that Nigeria now import Kerosene, the country have been importing kerosene and other refined products since God knows when. NNPC cut down importation with the believe that the refined products at the refinery would be enough to saturate the market but it was like day dreaming as we all know that the refineries are not working at their optimum capacities hence the reason for the scarcity witnessed all around the country. For now importation seems to be the only shortcut to the availability of the product in the market as the refineries are in comatose.

Politics / How Did Nigeria Got Broke? Economists Answers Needed by Haishophem(m): 12:01am On Jul 21, 2016
I've always wondered why the country's economy is in this present state...although some will argue that we've depended so heavily on importation(which I kinda agreed to) likewise the past administration will be blamed as usual. But we've got to ask the present administration some questions which includes:
1. What happened to the Trillions of Naira recovered from TSA
2. It was all over the media that some certain amount of money was returned by looters, although the looters are not named. Why and how much have been recovered so far
3. It's a known fact that the country's oil production have gone down due to the incessant attacks on oil installations. I so much believe that other sectors also generate some certain percentage to the nation's revenue, what's the statistics and is the revenue generated from such sectors not that buoyant enough to cushion the hardships people face in the country?
4. We seem not to know the economic blueprint of this present administration, there seems not to be a policy in place or perhaps the policy was not well communicated.
5. I wish to know if the previous administration emptied the nations treasury to the extent that the present administration is so incapacitated to operate due to lack of funds.

Last thought: I felt the administration that ought to blame the predecessor most should be OBJ's administration. The country's economy was a serious mess when he took over the mantle of leadership, but the administration then set to work immediately without blaming anyone, debts were settled, things fell in place, standard of living improved compared to what it was between 1993 and 1999. There was robust external reserve as the country had some funds saved upon the completion of the tenure in 2007. We shouldn't forget also that there was serious agitation in the Niger Delta region that crippled oil production then, but still the economy was not like this...

In as much as I support ONE NIGERIA, I so much believe that the country needs to restructured cos we can't keep running things this way and expect reasonable changes.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

Fashola goes to a "Pensions Conference" and gives a speech that by my calculations, if it was read word for word, took at least two hours. No keynote speech should last more than twenty minutes. Fidel Castro used to give speeches that lasted for hours on end but then they were substantive and built around an ideological core. You read this speech and you go, okay, so what? It is a term paper, polished but glib with little substance and a distinct lack of analysis and good data. All Fashola is telegraphing is that this government wants its thieving hands in the pension fund. That is the bottom line. Fashola wants to start building websites, "executing" imaginary projects, and buying trinkets and bullet proof toys for the latest character du jour in Aso Rock. And social media "intellectuals" raised with motivational books are applauding him.
Let me be the first to say this: What Fashola and others are planning to do to people's pension fund is criminal. They ought to stop while they are ahead. What is the problem they are trying to solve? What are you investing in and why? I would be surprised if the pension fund is fully funded, I seriously doubt that given our history it is even 70 percent funded. We should be putting money on it, not coming up with pyramid schemes to loot elders' nest eggs. Shame on all of them. You want to give retired policemen's money to Rotimi Amaechi so he can build imaginary electric trains, power them with palm wine and celebrate with $500,000 dinner parties. Where is the outrage? Nonsense.

If not for ethnicity or should I say the complexity of our political system, these are the kind of people that should be at the helm of affair of this country at this crucial time.
