Are you speaking Generally or for those who speak Hausa?
For this post, Hausa-speaking students only. The same applies to other languages. Teaching Math in the mother tongue improves understanding and retention.
EducationTeaching Math In Hausa Will Improve Learning And Reduce Failure Rates by haj57(op): 10:19am On May 09, 2025
According to UNESCO Policy Paper 24 (2016), “quality education should be delivered in the language spoken at home.” However, many students learn mathematics in English, even though they speak Hausa at home. This means that children often do two tasks simultaneously: struggling to understand and decode English words while also trying to grasp math concepts. In contrast, learning in Hausa allows students to focus on mathematical ideas rather than English vocabulary.

The bottom line is that when math is taught in a local language like Hausa, it stops feeling intimidating and becomes easier to understand. Mother-tongue math instruction is a simple yet powerful way to boost a child’s confidence and academic performance.

ProgrammingHelp! "Internal Server Error" For A Football Match Prediction App by haj57(op): 6:08am On Jul 26, 2023
I am developing a football match prediction app in python/django.

views.py has 3 major functions: def (matrix) generates random numbers using "secrets" module of python. The numbers are validated with an algorithm which returns either "valid" or "invalid". If valid, the next function is called, otherwise, new set of random numbers are generated.

def (sincerity) checks whether the match is actually scheduled. An algorithm returns either "sincere" or "Oops! We detected an error ..." If sincere, the next function is called, otherwise, user gets a response in frontend "Oops! We detected an error ..."

def determine_winner(home_team, away_team) uses 5 algorithms tagged formula 1, formula 2, ... formula 5. A summary of the 5 formulae returns "home team will win", "away team will win", "it will be a draw" or "sorry, we cannot determine match winner".

These steps make up the function, def process_form (request).

When I submit request, instead of getting the desired response, I get "Internal Server Error: /process_form/". Note that app is yet to be deployed to a live server.

ProgrammingRe: My Job Hunting Experiences As A Junior Developer So Far by haj57(m): 6:39pm On May 13, 2022
TheManOfTheYear:
My interview was great. I'd rate it 8/10.

I was already in the meeting room online about 5 minutes to the start of time. The first question was the usual "tell us about yourself and your background".

I gave a brief narration about my work experience so far, (didn't let them know they were internships), also talked about some of my technical writing experience.

At this stage, I quickly chipped in on some of the open source works I've done. The CTO guy immediately developed keen interest when I mentioned open source.
I've actually been doing some beginner friendly open source contributions on GitHub. Both in code and in technical writing. The guy seemed to love that fact.
I made sure I use that moment to shine.

He asked me to show some of my open source contributions on GitHub, which I did.

Now, after about 30 minutes of chit chats, it was time for some technical rounds.
Unexpectedly, it was my projects on GitHub they decided to use to fire me questions.

They went through my different code on GitHub and ask me questions. For example, the guy would enter a file and see a block of code somewhere, he would ask me to explain what the code was doing. Why I used that approach instead of another approach (which he would mention).

Omo me wey don forget why I write some code sef grin
However, I would do my best to explain to the best of my memory and knowledge.

I made sure the interview was as communicative as possible. I expressed myself a lot.

So after one hour, they finally relaxed me.
Now it was time for me to ask them questions. So I decided to ask about their product. What their product really do and what the aim was in the near future.

So yeah, interview process differs, the main thing is to give them a reason to employ you.

But as for DSA, well, that's different lol.
Not all companies use DSA, that must have been a very high paying job role.

They gave me a specific time they'd get back to me, so fingers crossed. grin
BEST OF LUCK

Use EYOWO. Download the app. Credit your account in Naira. Then convert the amount to USD. Though the exchange rate is high. I don't know the exact rate now. Used it about 2 years ago to pay for Facebook ad.

Try Airtel. Normal sim data, not mifi.
Dial *141*242# and select your desired option. You can get 6GB for N1000.

As stated above, you need to own both urls. Then make the unwanted url redirect to the desired url. There are 4 ways to do that. Via cpanel, HTML Meta tag, using PHP and using .htaccess.

I used my gt naira account on my AdSense does this mean I won't be able to get my money?
You will get the money but will be converted to Naira using official rate which is usually lower than what aboki will give. Check https://www.google.com/search?q=dollar+to+naira for official rate.

Yes. You can see it.

Jess99:
Is it true that a GT domiciliary account takes 10 $ annual maintenance fee? With no debit card on the account.
There is a difference between GTB naira account and Dorm account. The former has a debit card connected, so funds can be withdrawn with the card. On the other hand, when you open a Dorm account, GTB will open two accounts for you. One, the Dorm account and two, a USD debit card account. Funds received in the dorm account can be accessed via:

1. Withdrawal over the counter. As someone above me said, they give you USD. You go find aboki to exchange.
2. Transfer the funds to your card account via mobile app or internet banking and use it online or withdraw cash from ATM if the ATM dispenses USD otherwise you incur extra charges.
3. Sell the USD to the bank. There is a FX EXCHANGE section in their internet banking platform. Input how much you want to sell and the system will display the amount you will get in NGN. But you need to have a NGN account with the bank where the fund will be deposited. This is useful when you have funds that may be difficult to withdraw over the counter like $37, $55, etc. Note that the exchange rate is far lower than aboki rate. About N414 to $1 sometime ago.

So, answering your question directly, yes. GTB charges $10 card maintenance fee per annum since there is a card account opened by default provided the card is active. If it expires and you do not apply for renewal, no charge is incured.

WebmastersRe: 3 Major Reasons Why You May Consider Nigerian Webhosts by haj57(m): 8:25am On Mar 26, 2022
With current $20 limit most banks have enforced on Naira debit cards, your first point is true.

As regards support, Arvixe and Fastcomet I have used have topnotch live chat 24/7.

There is a culture that most of us in Nigeria have not yet learnt. Separating business from personality. When Steve Jobs died, did Apple stop producing iPhones? If Zuckerberg die today, will FB go offline? Most Nigerian web hosting companies are owned and operated by individuals with a few employees who have limited access to core admin features. If the founder kpai, what is the guarantee that your websites will not be in jeopardy? I have used a few local hosts like Philmore host and Web4Africa and they were good. But the above personal reason make me prefer US hosts.
