POEM TITLED :THE CHEATS Wishes whistle with the wind Hopes hop from behind Masses in a dilemma Wondrous thoughts consume their minds Children cry on their mother's backs Men lean on the cold wall with their backs Sorrowfully gazing around the pitiable packs Women; nursing with tears at an instance The cheats gleefully watched from a distance Scrooges, speaking gibberish like they always say Packaged fallacies just to have their way Wages and salaries purposely freezed Masses sudor went with the breeze Promises made, left unfulfilled While the cheats went dining in the field Inequality thrives like a business Justice was no one's business The cheats consume and squander their loots The state means of survival kicked to the boots Education; a privilege than a right Masses hope the future turns bright. Was she democratically elected?its more like an interim government, scince she handed over power back to the intial governor. |
The whole Nigeria political scenario keeps me asking this same question, what system of government are we actually practicing? |
Continuation... Nigeria Democracy or Rotatory Government? Apart from the fact that Nigeria seem to practice Gerontocracy, there is a form of rotation in our system of government that continues to put these "oldies" in power. There is an high rate of favouritism and Nepotism in Nigeria's politics. The rotation in government epitomizes how politically disenfranchised the youths are,for instance, when a person becomes the governor of a state for two tenures of 8 years and becomes a senator for more years and proceeds to be appointed a minister and subsequently vie for the post of president. What a selfish and power hungry act! Don't we have capable youths in Nigeria? Don't we have the young visionaries who can take this State to a great height? The simple answer to these questions are WE DO HAVE THEM but there is no platform for them to exhibit their leadership prowess because of the kleptomaniacs and selfish oldies who constantly acquire power by all means and making use of these youths as a tool to fulfil their selfish interest.Ledership should be by merit and not favourtism and people who are fit and politically inclined and know the true essence of good governance should be at the helm of Nigeria's politics. The young graduate who wants to be in politics should be given the opportunity without bias, restriction or bloodshed. NIGERIANS WAKE UP!!!NIGERIA YOUTHS WAKE UP!!!LETS STAND FOR TRUTH AND FIGHT CORRUPTION FOR A BETTER NIGERIA.!!! |
The Nigeria Democracy or Gerontocracy? They keep saying that "we are the leaders of tomorrow" but the people who are in politics are those who have been there right from when I was a baby.I'm all grown up but they are still there, with their wrinkled faces and "kleptomatic" fingers to loot our God given resources. My question is,"are we actually operating democracy in Nigeria or Gerontocracy? ".It seems that governance in Nigeria is meant for the old who ought to have retired and nurture the youths and their children on the right process of good governance. It so unfortunate that these "oldies" are not truthful to themselves, therefore they can't be truthful to anyone not even their offspring nor the entire populace. Why are the youths and the "young blood" so disenfranchised in the sense that they can't contest for a particular position in government until a specified age limit and monetary possession and status? Apart from that, politics has now become a business venture that whoever delves into becomes filthy rich overnight. It now a game played by the rich and noble, where millions are used to buy tickets and fulfil hypocritic political propaganda. Politics has now become dirty and a game of bloodshed. The innocent masses are left to suffer the misdeeds of the "politrickcians" with their various selfish plans to acquire power. These oldies keep toying with the future of our beloved country. It time Nigerians stand up for whats right......To be continued. |
