Instagram’ of a person’s immune system for cancer patients on experimental immunotherapy treatments which is called mass cytometry, that allows very high sensitivity to make pictures of immune system has been created. This is possible because there’s artificial intelligence machine learning combined with algorithms that can make a very complex system easy to visualize. Researchers stain cells using rare metal-conjugated antibodies that target surface and intracellular proteins in biological tissues, there are no rare metals, so this technique offers greater sensitivity in detecting targets. Inside the Helios, the cells are ionized using an inductively-coupled plasma. The ions derived from each stained cell are maintained in discrete clouds that can be detected in a mass spectrometer. The technique can potentially detect up to 100 markers per cell, although, due to practical restrictions, about 40 are more realistic. Then researchers use artificial intelligence and bioinformatics to create a two-dimensional mapping that can read the results, creating an Instagram of millions of blood cells. “High-dimensional single-cell analysis predicts response to anti-PD-1 immunotherapy” identified biomarkers in the blood that can predict whether metastatic melanoma cancer patients will respond positively to immunotherapy. The aim was to see if a blood test for these biomarkers could identity those who may benefit, while allowing “non-responders” to begin other treatments without losing time. The recent study found an immune cell type known as classical monocytes in the peripheral blood may be a potential biomarker for patients who will respond to anti-PD-1 immune checkpoint therapy in metastatic melanoma. The frequency of monocytes that is enhanced in responders over non-responders before immunotherapy, this technique cam be used to closely examine how cells interact in the microenvironment of the tissue and the tumor. Instagram pictures- a picture before therapy and a picture during therapy. The proteome is the complete set of proteins being expressed by a genome or cell at a certain time under certain conditions. This actually is what makes the interactions happen, where the immune cell interacts with an immune cell or a tumor cell. Studying whole networking of cells in the body and how they react toward the environment and in immunotherapy. Doing real-time monitoring in patients based on their specific genetic make-up and the immunotherapy treatment they are receiving opens all kinds of research possibilities. This allows physicians to apply precision medicine to help patients and researchers to use systems biology to discover the mechanisms of disease. haleplushearty.org

Antihistamines are used for fever, hives, conjunctivitis and insect bites. They are available over-the-counter and on prescription. Latest review shows that the drugs could have negative long-term side effects on male fertility because they tackle histamine – a molecule produced by the body in response to an allergy which drives reactions such as sneezing, wheezing and itching. Histamines are involved in fertility, blocking them could have negative side effects. Anti-histamines can lower sperm count, while deforming sperm and making them slower swimmers in mice, rats and hamsters. It is produced when the immune system is threaten, it affects male libido, shape and swimming ability of men’s sperm. Anti-histamines, which block it from working normally are thought to disrupt the production of male sex hormones in the testicles. Commenting on the research, Dr Channa Jayasena, senior clinical lecturer at Imperial College London, said: ‘The average sperm quality has been reducing over the last few decades, so it is always important to consider that medications may be responsible. Vitamin D is made by the skin when exposed to sunlight. It maintains calcium levels in the body to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy. Researchers analysed data from the Japan Public Health Center-based Prospective (JPHC) Study, involving male and female participants aged between 40 to 69 years. Participants provided detailed information on their medical history, diet and lifestyle, and blood samples were taken to measure vitamin D levels. Vitamin D levels varied depending on the time of year the sample was taken, tending to be higher during the summer and autumn than in the winter or spring. After accounting for this seasonal variation, samples were split into four groups, ranging from the lowest to highest levels of vitamin D. Participants were then monitored for an average of 16 years, during which time 3,301 new cases of cancer were recorded. After considering cancer risk factors like age, weight, activity levels, smoking, alcohol intake and dietary factors, the researchers found that a higher level of vitamin D was associated with a lower risk of overall cancer in both men and women. Higher vitamin D levels were also associated with a lower risk of liver cancer, and the association was more evident in men than in women. haleplushearty.org

Trogarzo is a new type of antiretroviral medication for adult patients living with HIV who have tried multiple HIV medications in the past (heavily treatment-experienced) and whose HIV infections cannot be successfully treated with other available therapies (multidrug resistant HIV, or MDR HIV). Trogarzo is administered intravenously once every 14 and used in combination with other antiretroviral medications. HIV patients can be successfully treated using a combination of two or more antiretroviral drugs, a small percentage of patients who have taken many HIV drugs in the past have multidrug resistant HIV, limiting their treatment options and putting them at a high risk of HIV-related complications and progression to death. Trogarzo is the first drug in a new class of antiretroviral medications that can provide significant benefit to patients who have run out of HIV treatment options. The safety and efficacy of Trogarzo were evaluated in a clinical trial of 40 heavily treatment-experienced patients with MDR HIV-1 who continued to have high levels of virus (HIV-RNA) in their blood despite being on antiretroviral drugs. Many of the participants had previously been treated with 10 or more antiretroviral drugs. The majority of participants experienced a significant decrease in their HIV-RNA levels one week after Trogarzo was added to their failing antiretroviral regimens. After 24 weeks of Trogarzo plus other antiretroviral drugs, some of the trial’s participants achieved HIV RNA suppression. Common adverse reactions to Trogarzo are diarrhea, dizziness, nausea and rash. Severe side effects included rash and changes in the immune system. haleplushearty.org

Maternal smoking is associated with worse lung function, children with poor lung function have an greater burden of disease explained by lead investigator Stacey-Ann Whittaker Brown, MD, from the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, NY. Many children are exposed to secondhand smoke during pregnancy. Researchers analyzed the link between lung function and the type of secondhand smoke exposure in a representative sample of school-aged children aged 6 to 11 years. The sample consisted of 2,070 children who participated in the 2007-2012 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). NHANES is an annual cross-sectional survey conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on a representative sample of the US population of both children and adults. Detailed information about ongoing secondhand smoke exposure as well as parental self-reported exposure prior to birth was obtained. During the study period, lung function was measured using spirometry, and exposure to smoking was assessed through levels of cotinine in the blood, a marker of the extent of current secondhand smoke exposure. Researchers were able to differentiate between exposure in pregnancy and ongoing secondhand smoke exposure. Current tobacco smoke exposure was independently associated with airflow obstruction in school-aged children, although the extent of the association was small. However, prenatal tobacco smoke exposure was associated with a 2.5 times increase in odds of having airflow obstruction in children with asthma. This shows that maternal smoking in pregnancy as the period of secondhand exposure that is more strongly associated with worse lung function in asthmatic children. Maternal smoking in pregnancy may cause poor lung function in later childhood. haleplushearty.org

According to a study at Imperial College London and Northwestern University, healthy diet may not offset the effects of a high salt intake on blood pressure. Researchers analysed the diets of different people and discovered that people that eat higher amounts of salt had higher blood pressure, no matter how healthy their overall diet is. High blood pressure affects more than one in four adults, it increases the risk of heart attacks and stroke. Vitamins and minerals in fruit and vegetables might affect blood vessels, enabling them to lower blood pressure but cannot correct the damage done by salty diets. Eating high amounts of fruit and vegetables can not counteract the effect of high salt on blood pressure. Researchers studied data from INTERMAP study. The study was conducted between 1997-1999, scientists tracked the diets of 4,680 people, aged 40-59, from the USA, UK, Japan and China. The volunteers were tracked over four days, and two urine samples were taken during this time. Measurements of height, weight and blood pressure were also taken. They assessed concentrations of sodium and potassium in the urine samples. Sodium is the main component of salt, while potassium is found in green leafy vegetables has been linked to lower blood pressure. The team also used dietary data to assess the volunteers’ intake of over 80 nutrients that may be linked to low blood pressure, including vitamin C, fibre, and omega-3 fatty acids. Many of these nutrients are found in fruit, vegetables and whole grains. The researchers found a correlation between high blood pressure and higher salt intake, even in people who were eating a high amount of potassium and other nutrients. The researchers estimated salt intake by analysing sodium in the urine, as well as analysing dietary data. Blood pressure is measured in two numbers – the systolic pressure, measures the force the heart pumps blood around the body while diastolic pressure is the resistance to blood flow in the arteries. Ideally, blood pressure should be between 90/60 and 120/80 mmHg. However, reducing blood pressure by just a small amount can reduce the risk of stroke and heart disease. haleplushearty.org

A project in Sweden and Finland has found type two diabetes to be categorised as four different diseases. The researchers, led by experts at Lund University believe the more precise groupings each of the disedis which are genetically distinct, the better the diagnosis and proper precision. Type one is severe autoimmune diabetes, type two should be divided into four categories, two serious and two mild. Severe insulin-deficient diabetes include people with high blood sugar, low insulin production and moderate insulin resistance. Severe insulin-resistant diabetes – is predominantly linked to obesity and severe insulin resistance. This requires insulin injections for life. Severe Insulin-Deficient Diabetes High blood sugar is low insulin production and moderate insulin resistance. Severe Insulin-Resistant Diabetes is linked to obesity and severe insulin resistance. Mild Obesity-Related Diabetes – includes obese patients, but is less serious and includes people who fall ill at a relatively young age. Mild Age-Related Diabetes is the largest group, it consists mostly of elderly patients. And the final group, mild age-related diabetes, is the largest group, with more elderly patients. The five division of the disease can leads to intensified treatment. The five types of diabetes are different and should be treated in a different ways, this can reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications in the future. haleplushearty.org

DAY 2: SPECIAL HOLY GHOST SERVICE, MARCH 2018 THEME: STRONGER THAN YOUR ENEMIES - PART 3 (GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN) TALK 1 MINISTERING: REV. JOE OLAIYA DATE: 2ND MARCH, 2018 Tonight, you will prevail over all your enemies, Stronger than all your enemies and all your enemies will be under your feet. PRAYER: Father, thank you for tonight and for the Words you will send to us. You brought me here so that I can be Stronger than all my enemies. I obeyed and believed your Words. So tonight make me Stronger than all my enemies. ... According to your Words, let it be so. Your Words says one shall chase a thousand and two ten thousand. The Word says those who rise against you will be smitten before you. As the hands of Joseph and David prevailed over their enemies so will your hands also prevails. ... This night, God will make you Stronger than all your enemies. Bible Text: Deuteronomy 28:7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way and flee before thee seven ways. Let me hear you shout three (3) Powerful Amen! God had provided for us all we need to win and equipped us as well with all the things we needed to win as well. He sent Jesus Christ to us in order to die for us and grant us Victory. Hebrew 2:9 says: But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the Grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrew 2:14 says: Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil. So if you have Jesus Christ then you will be Victorious and Stronger than all your enemies. Many of us know the scriptures but the only problem is how to apply them and make them to come to pass. Saul and Co knew all these promises of God as written in Deuteronomy 28:7 and what Moses said in the book of Leviticus 26 that 5 will chase a 1000 and 100 will chase 10,000. However inspite of all God said to David and Co they are still not Strong until David come into the scene. Many of us don't even know that we are Stronger than the enemies; stronger than witches and wizards too according to 1 John 4:4 - Ye are of God little children and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Even Pastors are afraid of demons because they feel that the demons are not disarmed too. Not until you see what God shows you cannot have Victory. ... Say Father grant me Revelation. Where then do we suffer defeat from? Our defeat starts from within and not without. David came out after 40 days that Goliath had terrorised the whole army of the Nation of Israel morning and night... 80 announcement while Saul and other Generals of the army of Israel were defeated. Fear weakened your hearts of Faith but the Word of God strengthened you. So start taking God for what He says. How many of you want to be seniors to witches and wizards? Shout it loud and clear that: "I am Stronger than all my enemies". Some will ask me what did I eat that make me to be talking like this? Friends, I ate Jesus Christ. If the same Jesus Christ who already died and risen is living in me then who can harrass me? Nobody... What informed my boldness is what David said in his words - Thy Words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. ... Jesus, you are my Strength. But many times, we forget that God is with us and He is the Almighty. Some of us end up looking at the size of our enemies. David looked at the Word of God and said: " I will smite you my enemy". It is the Word of God in our hearts that determines what happened on the outside. Fear in your heart is failure and defeat on the outside. ... May God help us to embrace His Words. Why are some Christians defeated? Whoever endorses sin endorses defeat, sickness and defeat. Without sin, Satan cannot prosper. Sin weakens the life of a believer. We can see an example of how sin weakened the life of Samson. Anointing provides immunity against satanic assault. However, if you keep on indulging in sin, the anointing in you will not stop the poison of sin. But if you stop sinning, the anointing of God will become unstoppable in your life. What do you see? Do you see the Word of God as true or your problem as real? Since Jesus Christ took our sins away then we should not see it again. ... The sin we concealed we will surely see it again, Satan will harassed you and you will experienced lost of strength. Lost of strength is the lost of the Word of God. If the Word of God is in you; though difficulty and challenges may come but God will stand by you. Do you know that there are Angels all around you because the bible says where 2 or 3 are gathered that He (God) is there. So look around you, the person sitting next to you may be Jesus Christ. ... Say Jesus Christ is here and am Blessed. The Angels are here and am Stronger than my enemies. Samson kept on enjoying the anointing but failed to drop his sins until he lost his eyes. So if you are here tonight and you too have lost your eyes, God is here tonight to restored them back So are you here, you went into sin and Satan stole your joy, marriage, work etc or you don't even know Jesus at all and have been patronising Satan. I am telling you that there is a "Champion of Champions". His Name is JESUS CHRIST. When you hand over your life to Him; He will give you Strength. In the book of Numbers, God told Moses that He has heard the cry of His people; He will feed them for 30 days. I don't know how big your Mountain is? How big is your God? Jesus Christ said that if your Faith is as small as a mustard seed it will move Mountain... no matter how big the Mountain is. Tonight, Mountain shall be pulled down by what you say and believed. All you need to do are the following: 1. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. 2. Take His (God) Words as True. 3. Convert His Words to your Words. 4. Act on His Words as if its True So if you are here tonight and you want to be Champion; one thing that can hindered you is your sin. Samson was born as a Champion but sin hindered him. Do you want to be Stronger than your enemies and there is something the enemies using to pull you back? Just say: Father, forgive me of my sin so that I can pray to you. Father, my unbelief has made me weak; please forgive my unbelief and fear. ... Let me hear someone shout: " I AM STRONG " |

MARCH 2018 HOLY COMMUNION SERVICE THEME: STRONGER THAN YOUR ENEMIES - PART 3 (GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN) MINISTERING: PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE DATE: 1ST MARCH, 2018 Let somebody shout Halleluyah.... Halleluyah! BIBLE TEXT: John 6:56. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me and I in Him Our theme for this Special Holy Ghost Service is "Give me this Mountain" This is a request to the Almighty God by asking God to give you a Mountain. Before He grants that request; you need to ask yourself: Can I take on the Mountain? Do I have what it takes to take on the Mountain? In Luke 14:28-32, the bible says if you want to build a tower, then the first thing to do is to sit down and count the cost. Do I have enough resources to finish the house? You ask yourself if He gives me the Mountain, will I be able to take it on? Or He said in the bible that if a king is about to engage in a war, the king should check if he has the resources to deal with the enemies. If God decides to give you a Mountain, are you sure you have what it takes to take it on? Strength is an internal thing, and not external. Somebody can be big and weak and someone may be skinny but strong. That is why in Judges 16:4-6; the Philistines asked Delilah to ask Samson what is the secret of your strength that can tear lion into two (2) parts and uproot the gate of a city. Jesus Christ said in John 6:56 that if you eat my body and drink my blood then I will dwell in you. And if Jesus Christ is dwelling in you according to 1 John 4:4, then you can say boldly that greater is He that is me than he that is in the world. In Christ, you can take on any mountain and you will overcome. When you therefore come to the Lord's Table, then you have come to receive direction, strength and supernatural abilities. The kind of strength that overcomes. Holy Communion is a meal of Champions and Overcomers and the bible kept on saying that you should not eat it unworthily. If you do so, it can make you weak, make you sickly and can kill you - 1 Corinthians 11:29. That is why if anyone is here now and is not genuinely Born Again, such must not take the Holy Communion. So if you are here tonight and you know that you are yet to surrender your life to Jesus Christ; please do so now before we go into the Holy Communion proper. So I will count 1 to 5 for you to come and stand before the altar now. Tonight, we will pray for your salvation and the way will be opened for you to partake of the Holy Communion. As you are in front of the altar now: Cry to God to please save your soul while the rest of us will stretch our hands towards them and begin to intercede on their behalf - pray to God that He should wash them clean of their sin and give them a New Beginning. And also for God to accept them into the family of God. ADMINISTRATION OF THE HOLY COMMUNION So when you take the bread tonight pray that Power Greater than all the other powers will flushed out anything that is not of God in you. As soon as daddy gives the go ahead and the bread is served, you can eat it. When they served you the wine hold on to it so that all of us can drink it together. PRAYER ON WINE: Father give us the Strength and Power that i need to overcome any mountain, to scatter all those enemies who gather against me, to bring and pull down the wall of Jericho, to be More than Conqueror, and to testified that the Greater One dwells in me. Please release such Power to me afresh Almighty God tonight. ... May you from tonight be far far Stronger than all your enemies in Jesus Mighty Name we pray. If you believed that it is done, let me hear you shout Halleluyah... Halleluyah!!! Let us now take our offerings to say Thank you Jesus for the body broken for us and the blood shed for us. Dance to the nearest basket to drop it and celebrate with your neighbour. CLOSING PRAYERS The Almighty God will bless you. He will bless your offerings and use it for His Glory. And He will give you Permanent Victory over Poverty in Jesus Mighty Name we pray. ... Let me hear somebody shout Halleluyah ... Halleluyah!!! Many pregnant women are taking metformin to deal with gestational diabetes or polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS. PCOS increases the risk of developing diabetes and other metabolic problems. When pregnant women with PCOS or gestational diabetes take metformin, it crosses the placenta and passed to the fetus. According to Liv Guro Engen Hanem, M.D., of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway, the children of pregnant women who took metformin or placebo during pregnancy are at risk of weight gain. Researchers invited parents of 292 children who participated in previous randomized scientific trials to be part of the study. In the preceding trials, pregnant women with PCOS were assigned to take either metformin or a placebo during pregnancy, the researchers wound up reviewing frame mass index BMI and other measurements for 161 children born following the advance studies. At age four, the children whose mothers had been randomized to metformin at some point of being pregnant tended to weigh greater than the children whose mother took the placebo despite the fact that metformin did not appear to have an effect on birth weight, the trend became apparent whilst children reached six months of age. At age four, the children in metformin group had higher BMI scores and were much more likely to satisfy the criteria for weight problems or overweight than children in placebo group. Aging Neuroscience described a way to measure levels of this marker in human urine samples. The new marker potentially provides a method to measure how much human body has aged-biological rather than chronological age. Everyone born in the same year has the same chronological age, the bodies of different people age at different rates. This means that the risk of many diseases increases with age, the link between age in years and our health and lifespan is relatively loose. Many people enjoy long lives, relatively free of disease, while others suffer chronic illness and premature death. The rate of cellular damage can vary from person to person, and may be dictated by genetics, lifestyle and the environment we live in. This cellular damage may be a more accurate indication of biological age than the number of years. Measuring biological age could predict the risk of developing age-related diseases and death. One mechanism thought to underlie biological aging involves a molecule vital to human survival- oxygen-the free radical theory of aging. Oxygen by-products produced during normal metabolism can cause oxidative damage to biomolecules in cells, such as DNA and RNA," explains Jian-Ping Cai, a researcher involved in the study. "As we age, we suffer increasing oxidative damage , and so the levels of oxidative markers increase in our body." One such marker, with the catchy name of 8-oxo-7,8-dihydroguanosine-or 8-oxoGsn for short-results from oxidation of a crucial molecule in our cells called RNA. In previous studies in animals, Cai and colleagues found that 8-oxoGsn levels increase in urine with age. To see if this is true for humans as well, the researchers measured 8-oxoGsn in urine samples from 1,228 Chinese residents aged 2-90 years old, using a rapid analysis technique called ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography. Age-dependent increase in urinary 8-oxoGsn in participants 21 years old and older." Therefore, urinary 8-oxoGsn is promising as a new marker of aging. Levels of 8-oxoGsn were roughly the same between men and women, except in post-menopausal women, who showed higher levels. This may have been caused by the decrease in estrogen levels that happens during menopause, as estrogen is known to have anti-oxidant effects. Urinary 8-oxoGsn may reflect the real condition of human body better than chronological age, and may help us to predict the risk of age-related diseases. haleplushearty..com |

The study of undergraduate students found that manageable levels of anxiety actually aided people in being able to recall the details of events. It also found that when anxiety levels got too high or descended into fear, it could lead to the colouring of memories where people begin to associate otherwise neutral elements of an experience to the negative context. There is an optimal level of anxiety that is going to benefit memory, high levels of anxiety can cause people to reach a tipping point, which impacts their memories and performance. The study saw 80 undergraduate students from the University of Waterloo (64 females) complete the experiment. Half of the participants were randomly assigned to a deep encoding instruction group while the other half were randomly assigned to a shallow encoding group. All participants completed the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales. It was discovered that individuals high in anxiety showed a heightened sensitivity to the influences of emotional context on their memory, with neutral information becoming tainted, or coloured by the emotion with which it was associated during encoding. Thinking about emotional events or about negative events might put the mind in a negative mindset that can change way of perceiving the environment. haleplushearty..com |

He found that nearly 80 per cent of children in the study carried at least one of these potential at-risk genotypes that could predispose them to poor snacking habits. Chidren are eating a lot more snacks now than they used to, looking at how genetics can be related to snacking behaviour, it is important to understanding increased obesity among children, the study looked at connections between the genes of the three at-risk taste receptors and linked them to snacking patterns among children. The study entailed tracking the day-to-day diets of children and found that one-third of the children's diets were made up of snacks, children with a sweet tooth, who have the gene related to sweet taste preference, ate snacks with significantly more calories from sugar. The children with the genetic variant related to fat taste sensitivity were found to consume snacks with higher energy density. People with this genetic variant may have low oral sensitivity to fat and therefore consume more fatty foods without sensing it. Higher-energy density snacks, such as cookies with lots of sugar and fat, have a higher number of calories for their weight. The children with the genetic variant related to avoiding bitter vegetables also consumed snacks with high energy density. haleplushearty..com |

This according to a nationwide observational study of over one million adults diagnosed with dementia in France. This study looked specifically at the effect of alcohol use disorders and included people who had been diagnosed with mental and behavioural disorders or chronic diseases that were attributable to chronic harmful use of alcohol. Of the 57,000 cases of early-onset dementia (before the age of 65), the majority (57%) were related to chronic heavy drinking. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines chronic heavy drinking as consuming more than 60 grams pure alcohol on average per day for men and 40 grams per day for women. Heavy drinking and alcohol use disorders are the most important risk factors for dementia, and especially important for those types of dementia which start before age 65, and which lead to premature deaths," says study co-author and Director of the CAMH Institute for Mental Health Policy Research Dr. Jürgen Rehm. Alcohol-induced brain damage and dementia are preventable, and known-effective preventive and policy measures can make a dent into premature dementia deaths. Alcohol use disorders shorten life expectancy by more than 20 years, and dementia is one of the leading causes of death. For early-onset dementia, there was a significant gender split. Alcohol use disorders were also associated with all other independent risk factors for dementia onset, such as tobacco smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, lower education, depression, and hearing loss, among modifiable risk factors. It suggests that alcohol use disorders may contribute in many ways to the risk of dementia. haleplushearty..com |

The researchers found that running protects against the negative effects of stress on the hippocampus-the part of the brain responsible for learning and memory. Within the hippocampus, memory formation and recall work best when the connections between neurons-synapses, are strengthened over time, a process called long-term potentiation (LTP). Chronic or prolonged stress, however, weakens the synapses and with them the LTP, negatively impacting memory. The ideal situation for improving learning and memory would be to experience no stress and to exercise. To study the link between memory, stress and exercise, researchers divided mice into four groups: sedentary no stress, exercise no stress, exercise with stress, and sedentary with stress. The mice were then exposed to stress inducing situations, such as walking on an elevated platform or swimming in cold water, or put on a running wheel depending on their grouping. To determine how the variables affected each group's memory, the researchers used electrophysiology to measure the LTP in the animals' brains. They found that the stressed mice who exercised had considerable higher LTP rates than those who had not exercised. The researchers also used a maze-running experiment to test the mice's memories. The stressed mice who exercised performed just as well as non-stressed mice who exercised. Additionally, the exercising mice made significantly fewer memory errors in the maze than the sedentary mice. The findings suggest exercise is an effective way to protect learning and memory mechanisms from the negative cognitive impacts of chronic stress on the brain. haleplushearty..com |

There are very few methods for preventing food poisoning in part because testing for harmful bacteria such as E.Coli and salmonella requires specialized equipment and can take up to two days to show results. New technology from researchers at the University of Massachusetts Amherst changes that, delivering bacteria results in minutes using a smartphone app. Current methods for identifying bacteria associated with food poisoning are time-consuming because it is challenging to collect enough material. The most common method involves rinsing potentially risky food, collecting small amounts of bacteria from the water and giving it 24 hours to multiply so there's enough to test. The tool developed at UMass uses a chemically-coated chip that binds to even the smallest amounts of bacteria. The university created a video showing how the prototype works: They rinse a potentially contaminated product with water and then place the chip into the water. Within half an hour, the microscope, which can attach to any type of smartphone camera, reveals the bacteria on the screen. If you don't have the app, you can prevent food poisoning by: keeping the cooking area and your hands clean. Avoiding cross-contamination-raw meat, poultry, seafood and eggs can spread germs to ready-to-eat foods if not kept separate. Use separate cutting boards and plates when handling different foods. To cook food safely, the internal temperature must be high to kill the germs that could cause food poisoning-use a food thermometer. Store foods properly-storing food properly is essential to combating harmful bacteria, expiration dates may not be accurate for some foods-strange smell or color may indicate that the food is not safe, frozen foods should be thawed in the refrigerator, in cold water, or in the microwave. Since there is a wide range of ASD symptoms diagnosis can be difficult and uncertain at the early stages of development. The research team which is based at the University's Warwick Medical School involves academics at the University of Warwick's Warwick Systems Biology group, the University of Birmingham, the University of Bologna, the Institute of Neurological Sciences, Bologna, and the Don Carlo Gnocchi Foundation ONLUS. They found a link between ASD and damage to proteins in blood plasma by oxidation and glycation-processes where reactive oxygen species (ROS) and sugar molecules spontaneously modify proteins. They found the most reliable of the tests they developed was examining protein in blood plasma where, when tested, children with ASD were found to have higher levels of the oxidation marker dityrosine (DT) and certain sugar-modified compounds called "advanced glycation endproducts" (AGEs). Genetic causes have been found in 30-35% of cases of ASD and the remaining 65-70% of cases are thought to be caused by a combination of environmental factors, multiple mutations, and rare genetic variants. However the research team also believe that the new tests could reveal yet to be identified causes of ASD. The team's research also confirmed the previously held belief that mutations of amino acid transporters are a genetic variant associated with ASD. The Warwick team worked with collaborators at the University of Bologna, Italy, who recruited locally 38 children who were diagnosed as having with ASD (29 boys and nine girls) and a control group of 31 healthy children (23 boys and eight girls) between the ages of five and 12. Blood and urine samples were taken from the children for analysis. They discovered that there were chemical differences between the two groups. Working with a further collaborator at the University of Birmingham, the changes in multiple compounds were combined together using artificial intelligence algorithms techniques to develop a mathematical equation or "algorithm" to distinguish between ASD and healthy controls. The outcome was a diagnostic test better than any method currently available. haleplushearty..com |

University of Queensland researcher Dr. Emma Hamilton-Williams investigated differences in the gut microbiota, comparing those susceptible to type 1diabetes to those protected against the autoimmune disease. This research has shown there is a genetic component to microbiota and the immune response involved in regulating it, this means that changes in the microbiota in type 1 diabetes occur before symptoms develop, and are not just a side-effect of the disease. Therapies targeting the microbiota could therefore have the potential to help prevent type 1 diabetes in the future. An immunotherapy targeting T-cells associated with type 1 diabetes resulted in dramatic changes in the gut biology and altered the microbiota in mice models. Genetic susceptibility and change in immune system function led to alterations in the microbiota. The implications are that a person's genetics contribute to an unhealthy microbiota as well as their diet. haleplushearty..com |

Calcium and vitamin D supplements, which usually come in the forms of tablets, are widely used and have been generally viewed as relatively safe, but some researchers have previously raised concerns over potential links with cardiovascular disease. Investigators from the Medical Research Council Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit, University of Southampton (MRC LEU), used the internationally unique UK Biobank cohort, comprising over 500,000 men and women aged between 40 and 69 years, to explore relationships between use of calcium and vitamin D supplementation and the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attacks. The analysis accounted for a wide range of other potential influences, and did not detect any statistically significant associations between use of the supplements and events such as heart attacks, hospital admission for angina, or related deaths. Calcium and vitamin D supplements are widely used in the population, and are particularly appropriate for those at risk of deficiency in either nutrient. In this situation there is good evidence that they provide a modest reduction in fracture risk, although do not replace medications specifically licensed for the treatment of osteoporosis. The study was led by Dr Luke Grzeskowiak from the University of Adelaide's Robinson Research Institute. Dr Grzeskowiak says the results provide reassurance for asthmatic women that using inhaled corticosteroids to prevent symptoms does not appear to reduce fertility. Five to ten per cent of all women around the world have asthma and it is one of the most common chronic medical conditions in women of reproductive age. Several studies have identified a link between asthma and female infertility, but the impact of asthma treatments on fertility has been unclear. Studying the effect of asthma treatments in women who are pregnant or trying to get pregnant is important as women often express concerns about exposing their unborn babies to potentially harmful effects of medications. The researchers examined data from the international Screening for Pregnancy Endpoints (SCOPE) study, which recruited more than 5600 women expecting their first babies in the early stages of pregnancy. Ten per cent of women in the study said they had asthma and, overall, these women took longer to get pregnant. When researchers separated this group according to the types of asthma treatments they were using, they found no difference in fertility between women using long-acting asthma treatments and women without asthma. Women using short-acting reliever medication (known as beta-agonists) took 20% longer to conceive on average. They were also 30% more likely to have taken more than a year to conceive, which the researchers defined as the threshold for infertility. This difference remained even after researchers took other factors known to influence fertility, such as age and weight. This study shows that women using short-acting asthma relievers take longer to get pregnant. On the other hand, continued use of long-acting asthma preventers to control asthma seems to protect fertility and reduce the time it takes women with asthma to become pregnant. This could lead to a reduction in the need for fertility treatments. Maternal asthma has a negative impact on the health of pregnant women and their babies, women should take steps to get their asthma under control before trying to conceive. Inhaled corticosteroids suppress the immune system, whereas short-acting asthma treatments do not alter immune function. In women who are only using relievers it's possible that, while their asthma symptoms may improve, inflammation may still be present in the lungs and other organs in the body. A few studies have linked ultra-processed foods to higher risks of obesity, high blood pressure and cholesterol levels. A team of researchers based in France and Brazil, set out to evaluate potential associations between ultra-processed food intake and risk of overall cancer, as well as that of breast, prostate, and bowel (colorectal) cancers. Their findings are based on 104,980 healthy French adults (22% men; 78% women) with an average age of 43 years who completed at least two 24-hour online dietary questionnaires, designed to measure usual intake of 3,300 different food items. Foods were grouped according to degree of processing and cases of cancer were identified from participants' declarations validated by medical records and national databases over an average of five years. Several well known risk factors for cancer, such as age, sex, educational level, family history of cancer, smoking status and physical activity levels, were taken into account. The results show that a 10% increase in the proportion of ultra-processed foods in the diet was associated with increases of 12% in the risk of overall cancer and 11% in the risk of breast cancer. No significant association was found for prostate and colorectal cancers. Further testing found no significant association between less processed foods (such as canned vegetables, cheeses and freshly made unpackaged bread) and risk of cancer, while consumption of fresh or minimally processed foods (fruits, vegetables, pulses, rice, pasta, eggs, meat, fish and milk) was associated with lower risks of overall cancer and breast cancer. This is an observational study, so no firm conclusions can be drawn about cause and effect, and the researchers point to some limitations. For example, they cannot rule out some misclassification of foods or guarantee detection of every new cancer case. Nevertheless, the study sample was large and they were able to adjust for a range of potentially influential factors. haleplushearty..com |

After only two drinks, the researchers noted changes in the working of the prefrontal cortex of the brain, the part involved in tempering a person's levels of aggression. The study was led by Thomas Denson of the University of New South Wales in Australia in the journal Cognitive, Affective, & Behavioral Neuroscience. According to most theories, alcohol-related aggression is caused by changes in the prefrontal cortex. However, there is a lack of substantial neuroimaging evidence to substantiate these ideas. In this study, Denson and his team recruited fifty healthy young men. The participants were either given two drinks containing vodka, or placebo drinks without any alcohol. While lying in an MRI scanner, the participants then had to compete in a task which has regularly been used over the past 50 years to observe levels of aggression in response to provocation. The functional magnetic resonance imaging allowed the researchers to see which areas of the brain were triggered when the task was performed. They could also compare the difference in scans between participants who had consumed alcohol and those who hadn't. Being provoked was found to have no influence on participants' neural responses. However, when behaving aggressively, there was a dip in activity in the prefrontal cortex of the brains of those who had consumed alcoholic drinks. This dampening effect was also seen in the areas of the brain that are involved reward. Also, heightened activity was noted in the hippocampus, the part of the brain associated with people's memory. Although there was an overall dampening effect of alcohol on the prefrontal cortex, even at a low dose of alcohol there is a significant positive relationship between dorsomedial and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex activity and alcohol-related aggression. These regions may support different behaviors, such as peace versus aggression, depending on whether a person is sober or intoxicated. The results are largely consistent with a growing body of research about the neural basis of aggression, and how it is triggered by changes in the way that the prefrontal cortex, the limbic system and reward-related regions of the brain function. The results of the current study are also consistent with several psychological theories of alcohol-related aggression. haleplushearty..com |

Axitinib inhibits angiogenesis, the process of blood vessels forming to feed a tumor. Inlyta was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2012 for the treatment of patients with advanced kidney cancer after one prior systemic therapy has failed, and has been shown to be selective in how it works, resulting in a strong effectiveness to toxicity ratio. The immunotherapy agent, pembrolizumab, is an immune checkpoint inhibitor that blocks a self-defense mechanism used by cancer cells to evade attack and destruction by the body's immune cells. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of patients with several cancer types including melanoma, lung, bladder and head and neck cancers, but has only had limited study in patients with kidney cancer. Earlier attempts to develop combinations of anti-angiogenesis agents and checkpoint-inhibitor-based immunotherapies to treat patients with advanced kidney cancer resulted in unacceptably high levels of toxicity and thus the combinations were not pursued further. In contrast, the axitinib-pembrolizumab combination was sufficiently tolerable to enable the agents to be given at their FDA-approved single-agent dose levels. The combination doubled the efficacy of the drugs when used alone and the treatment was found to be tolerable," says Michael B. Atkins, MD, deputy director, Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and principal investigator for the study. "Specifically, over 90 percent of patients exhibited tumor shrinkage and the disease was kept under control for a median of over 20 months." The investigators started their phase I clinical trial of this combination in 2014 and enrolled 52 advanced renal cell carcinoma (the most common form of kidney cancer ) patients who had not previously been treated for the disease. The enrollees received an intravenous infusion of pembrolizumab at the start of the trial and then every three weeks thereafter. Patients also took axitinib twice daily until they could no longer tolerate the therapy or until no benefit was seen. The researchers looked at tumor size at trial enrollment, then 12 weeks later and every 6 weeks thereafter. In the 11-patient subgroup, three of the patients were not able to tolerate axitinib and received less than 75 percent of the planned dose due to toxicities, while eight patients experienced manageable side effects, thus establishing this dose level and the recommended dose level for further investigation in a group of 41 additional patients. Significantly, patients had fewer liver abnormalities and less fatigue than those treated with other similar combination therapies. For the new combination therapy, tumor shrinkage or stabilization was better than what seen in patients taking just one of the two drugs alone. Seventy-three percent of patients experienced significant tumor shrinkage in response to the combination therapy and the median time in which there was no disease progression was 20.3 months. Overall survival results are still incomplete as 88 percent of the patients were still alive at a minimum 18 months after starting therapy. haleplushearty..com |

Let's give the Almighty God glory, let's lift our hands to Him to worship Him, let's praise Him for what He has been doing and for what He will do now, magnify His Holy name, He is worthy to be praised, He reigns supreme, bless His holy name. 2. Father, let blessings of this week, be forever permanent. Alpha, Omega, Alpha, Omega, you are worthy of my praises today, you are worthy of my praises today. 1 Kings 3:3,9-13 As it usual with God, He leaves the best for the last. Am believing God that what you will learn today, will cost you to be blessed for the rest of your life. Amen Psalm 103:7, the children of is real discovered what God can do but Moses discovered how God can do what He promised to do. Focus: What must we do to get all this miracles in our lives permanently 1. The secret of Solomon is that he loved God and God loved him. 2 Samuel 12:24-25, The beauty of this is that God loves you, John 3:16. The question is, Do u love God? When your request is pleasing to God, He will do for you more than what you are asking for, Mathew 3:13-17, Philippians 2:5-7. When what you do pleases God, He overwhelmed you with blessings. Prayer Father, give me the grace to please you. 2. Solomon said, I want to do your will. He said, help me to do your will. Do His own and He will do your own, 1 King 19:19-21, 2 Kings 4:8-17, 2 Kings 6:18-23, John 15:16. Whenever you do something for God particularly winning soul, He will do for you far more than you have done for Him. Prayer Father, just try me, I will be your divine treasurer 3. God is unlimited. You must not limit Him. Genesis 17:1. Don't limit the one who is unlimited, John 11:39-45, 2 Kings 4:1-7. Ephesians 3:20 Prayer Father, I will no longer limit you, please do for me everything you can do 4. Get God to visit you regularly, Let's Him visit you regularly. Psalm 16:11, How do I get Him to visit me regularly, John 4:23-24- if you are true worshiper of God, God will visit you and if He visit you, He will give you all that you want, John 16:24. If you learn to worship Him, He will visit you again and again. Prayer Just worship Him, worship Him in a manner that He will visit you, give Him glory, give Him honour. 5. Finally, one of the greatest thing in the story of Solomon is that he did what nobody has done before, and he receive what no one else has received. If you want to receive a miracle that no one has receive before, do what no one has ever done before, Luke 4:25-26. Prayer Father, give me the grace to do for you what nobody has ever done before. In closing, Proverbs 18:17, you cannot claim that you love God and still live in sin. The best way to show that you love Him is by surrendering your life to Christ and forsake all your sins. |
