Researchers at Penn State are using new statistical analysis methods to compare how infants develop new skills with the unseen changes in electrical activity in the brain, or electroencephalography (EEG) power. They found that most babies appear to learn new skills in irregular bursts, while their EEG power grows steadily behind the scenes.

Child Development supports long-standing but untested beliefs about how infants develop. Behaviors that we can observe in children are non-linear, showing up in spurts. However, underlying forces that help support this observed behavior can be linear. Babies develop in bursts instead of little by little over time. Psychologists have been suggesting that while on the surface development looks like these quick bursts, underneath there may be very continuous, slowly developing mechanisms that one day look like they popped out of nowhere.

A total of 28 six-month-old infants were recruited and brought to the lab once a month until they turned one year old. During each visit, the baby participated in a cognitive test called the "a-not-b task," designed in the 1950s to measure an infant's understanding of object permanence: knowing something exists even if it's out of sight.

In the task, a researcher put a cardboard box with two wells—A and B—across from the infant. The researcher then hid a toy in one well and covered it with cloth, hiding it from view. The infant was considered successful if they correctly retrieved the toy twice from well A and then once from well B after the researcher hid it.

They have to remember where the ball was moved, which is working memory. They have to know an object exists even though it's out of sight, and they need to track objects moving in space from one place to another. All of this also required them to pay attention. The researchers also measured the infants' EEG at each visit. A cap with six electrodes was placed on the baby's head, with each electrode measuring the electrical activity in different regions of the brain. Readings were taken for two minutes while the infants focused on a spinning wheel.

After analyzing the data, the researchers found that performance on the a-not-b task did indeed develop in bursts: with most of the infants, there wasn't a lot of development in the first or last months, but there was a big spike between seven and eleven months. At the same time, the researchers found that EEG power grew at a steady pace throughout the seven months.

Nonlinear growth curve was the best way to describe most of the babies,"Meanwhile, there was significant linear change at all electrode locations. There are association between EEG power in the occipital lobe and performance on the a-not-b task. Infants who had lower levels of occipital power at six months of age had faster increases in a-not-b performance over time.

Infant behavior varies so much from baby to baby, so it's helpful to understand what's going on beneath the surface. The multi-method approach is helpful, because it shows the infants ' behavior and also what's going on in the brain. It gives a better sense of where this variability comes from, and what's happening in the brain when the infant isn't getting better at the task verses.

A new IVF method that takes thousands of pictures of embryos to select the best eggs has increased the likelihood of successful IVF by 25 per cent. The developing embryos are photographed while in incubators every 10 to 20 minutes and then sent to a computer to rank the eggs using algorithms.

A new study has shown that mice fed with a very high-salt diet experienced declined blood flow to their brain, the integrity of blood vessels in the brain suffered, and performance on tests of cognitive function plummeted.

Researchers found that those effects were not as long has been widely believed, a natural consequence of high blood pressure. Instead, they appeared to be the result of signals sent from the gut to the brain by the immune system.

Baby brain refers to increased forgetfulness, inattention, and mental "fogginess" reported by four out of five pregnant women. These changes in brain function during pregnancy have long been recognised in midwifery folklore, the new study has confirmed "baby brain" as a real phenomenon, and also affects several cognitive areas.

Researchers combined data from different studies reporting the relationship between pregnancy and brain changes. They examined the cognitive function of pregnant women and non-pregnant women to explore how pregnancy may affect other cognitive areas beyond memory and to look specifically at how these changes might vary according to pregnancy trimesters.

The result showed that when pregnant women are compared to non-pregnant women, they perform much worse on tasks measuring memory and executive functioning which includes attention, inhibition, decision-making and planning, and the difference most pronounced during the third trimester. Women were tested with tasks such as the digit span test, which involves remembering digits in a line.

When the same women were tested at multiple points during their pregnancies, the decline appeared to start during the first trimester, then stabilise from the middle to the end of the pregnancy. Some pregnant women may notice they don't feel as smart as usual, these effects are realistically not likely to have any dramatic impact on everyday life.

Some women will simply find it seems to take more mental effort to do tasks that were previously routine. These changes might be noticeable to people very close to them such as family or friends, but this is highly dependent on each woman's personal experience of pregnancy. There were reductions in grey matter in the brains of pregnant women in regions known to be closely tied to processing social information, such as decoding infant facial expressions and establishing healthy bonding between mother and child.

Baby brain is an important adaptive phenomenon that might help women prepare for raising their children by allowing their brains to adapt to their new role as mothers. Importantly, this same study showed losses of grey matter in the hippocampus, an area of the brain responsible for memory function, are restored two years after the birth of a child. This supports the idea cognitive declines are not permanent.

Sitting for long hours leads to building of fat around the body's organs and increases the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease. A study found people who spent a large amount of time sitting down had higher levels of visceral and total abdominal fat. Visceral fat is unseen and wrapped around the liver, pancreas and kidneys. Carrying a high amount is known to be associated with insulin resistance - the driving factor for type 2 diabetes.

There's a difference between subcutaneous fat, the type of fat that lies directly under the skin and visceral fat, which is unseen and around human organs. According to an expert, slim-looking people can have this dangerous fat on the inside, that's wrapped around the liver, pancreas and kidneys.
Visceral abdominal fat is also linked to an increased risk of cancer, stroke and heart disease. Researchers used MRI to scan participants who were likely to develop type 2 diabetes. They also used ccelerometers that were placed around their waists to measure how much time these people spent sitting over the course of a week.

The researchers found that the link between visceral fat and sitting was strongest for those who did not meet the public health recommendation of 150 weekly minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity. Using MRI techniques and physical activity monitors have shown that the more time spent sedentary, the stronger the association with higher levels of internal and abdominal fat. This was particularly so if the long periods of sedentary behavior were uninterrupted.

According to latest research, dieting and regular exercise can be more effective at controlling type 2 diabetes than medication. Patients who take part in weight loss programmes are less likely to need drugs and tend to have healthier blood sugar levels. Regular exercise and cognitive behavioural therapy helps people to lose weight.

An international group of researchers has discovered a new phenomenon that occurs in identical twins: independent of their identical genes, they share an additional level of molecular similarity that influences their biological characteristics. The researchers propose a mechanism to explain the extra level of similarity and show that it is associated with risk of cancer in adulthood.

The characteristics of an individual depend not only on genes inherited from the parents but also on epigenetics, which refers to molecular mechanisms that determine which genes will be turned on or off in different cell types. If we view one's DNA as the computer hardware, epigenetics is the software that determines what the computer can do," said senior author Dr. Robert A. Waterland, associate professor of pediatrics - nutrition at the USDA/ARS Children's Nutrition Research Center and Texas Children's Hospital and of molecular and human genetics at Baylor College of Medicine.

Epigenetics works by adding or removing chemical tags to genes to mark which ones should be used in different cell types. One of the better studied tags, known to play an important role in development. In large group of identical and fraternal twin pairs, Waterland and his colleagues studied a group of genes called metastable epialleles. Previous work indicated that methyl tags are randomly added to metastable epialleles during early embryonic development and maintained throughout life.

The patterns of methyl tags added to metastable epialleles would be equally random in identical twins and fraternal twins, we found that the methylation patterns matched almost perfectly in identical twins, a degree of similarity that could not be explained by the twins sharing the same DNA. Identical twins are formed when the very early embryo - essentially a ball of cells - splits into two parts, and each continues to develop into a separate human being.

Twins inherit an intimate molecular memory of their shared developmental legacy as a single individual. On the other hand, genes at which epigenetic markers are set after the embryo splits can have greater epigenetic differences between the two twins. Epigenetic supersimilarity seems to occur in a relatively small group of genes, but, as the researchers discovered, many of these are associated with cancer. To test whether these epigenetic markers might affect risk of cancer, the scientists in Houston teamed up with cancer epidemiologists running the Cancer Council Victoria's Melbourne Collaborative Cohort Study in Melbourne, Australia.

Analyzing peripheral blood DNA samples from healthy adults show that methylation at epigenetically supersimilar genes is associated with risk of subsequently developing several types of cancer, including lung, prostate and colorectal cancer. This study shows that, at the epigenetic level, identical twins are more similar to each other than previously recognized. Epigenetic supersimilarity affects risk of disease.

A team of researchers from Denmark and France has found that taking regular doses of the pain reliever ibuprofen over a long period of time can lead to a disorder in men called compensated hypogonadism.

To learn about the impacts of the popular anti-inflammation drug Ibuprofen on male fertility when taken for long periods of time, the researchers asked 31 men between the ages of 18 and 35 to take 600 milligrams (three tablets) a day of the drug for six weeks. Other volunteers were given a placebo. Over the course of the study, the volunteers were tested to see what impact the drug had on their bodies.

The researchers report that just two weeks into the study, they found that all of the volunteers had an increase in luteinizing hormones, which the male body uses to regulate the production of testosterone. The increase indicated that the drug was causing problems in certain cells in the testicles, preventing them from producing testosterone, which is, of course, needed to produce sperm cells.

Change caused the pituitary gland to respond by producing more of another hormone, which forced the body to produce more testosterone. The net result was that overall testosterone levels remained constant, but the body was overstressing to compensate for the detrimental impact of the Ibuprofen-hypogonadism. Compensated hypogonadism can cause a temporary reduction in the production of sperm cells, reducing fertility.

People fast for different reasons. Some fast because they want to get an answer from God, thinking their fasting would compel Him to answer them. They see fasting as a means of getting God to do something He ordinarily wouldn’t have done, had they not fasted. That’s the wrong idea about fasting. I do fast, but I don’t fast to get God to do something for me.

If you’re fasting so that God will do something for you, then you’re doing it for the wrong reason, because He’s done everything for you already.
He already said, “All things are yours” (1 Corinthians 3:21); so what then is the purpose of fasting?
A.) You should fast,
1.)Primarily, because it is a good spiritual exercise designed to bring the flesh under subjection to the spirit.

2.)Fasting gets you attuned to the Spirit to hear what God is saying, and be guided to do His will and follow His purpose for your life.

3.)Fasting helps you to align with God’s will and purpose, and positions you rightly for God’s Word to come to you. God may have been speaking to you and you may have not been picking His signals. However, through fasting you become sensitive and ready to receive the guidance and direction He’s giving you.

B.)Secondly, and very importantly, you should fast as an act of worship to the Lord.
You can decide you just want to give the Lord a lot of attention, to love and cherish Him for some number of days or over a period. At such times you stay away from everything else, especially food, and just focus on Him, fellowshiping with Him.

When God is on your side, without any doubt you are more than a conqueror because when God arise all your enemies will scatter and so when the enemy sees God behind you they will run. Adeboye is nothing but his God is everything. Act 9: 1-5 gives us the story that an enemy of His people are His enemies too, so if you are one of God’s children’s then you are a terror to the devil and even the devil will know who you are if you are truly born again because the know the power of the one supporting us mark 11 tells us that in His name we will cast out demons and they will obey us and leave. Isaiah 54 16-17 says if you belong to God no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper because he made them and they will do His command only. If you belong to the almighty God no weapon formed against you shall prosper just like that prophet who wanted to curse God people but ended up blessing them. But when God Himself is your enemy, then there is nowhere you can run to from Him, if God leaves you alone, you are finished but He is waiting for you to return back to him, however He will not wait forever and His patient may run out so He said to you “I have set before life and death but I advise you to choose life so that you and your seed may live” so if you are reading this and you have not given your life to Jesus Christ now is the time to come to Jesus and surrender your life to him as your savior.
There are basically two categories of people: a strong man keeping his goods in a place and then a stronger man comes knocks the strong man out and takes over his goods, it is good to be strong but it is better to be stronger. Daddy said he got a letter from someone saying please pray for me I don’t want to be an ordinary Christian. It is good to be strong physically but it is better to be the one healing the sick. These signs shall follow them that believe and as you believe signs and wonders will follow you not just the general overseer. To be strong is good but stronger is better, it is good that you have enough but it is better to make people rich, Daddy decrees tonight that before march 2018 all your debt will be gone and you will be making others rich. Daddy decrees as you stretched out your hands that theses hand will never lack again in Jesus name. Spiritually God expect you not only to be free from demons but also to cast out demons act 15:16. Just command and the devil will obey, how do I know – try it. Daddy prays that every demon in any of you goes in Jesus name.

Now you will want to ask how can this be or what must happen before (God said don’t worry the baby is doing fine and the chains that is holding your business down is broken and He will lift up your head again) the first thing to stronger than your enemies is to be supported by the strongest Ron 8: 31 and Ps 24 7-12 tells us that God can even use demon to your servant. When you are supported by the strongest then you can deliver anybody who is in trouble because at the name of Jesus every knee must bow Philippian 2:10 and Zach 4: 6.

(Daddy says: there is someone where tonight that you will hear no bad news for a long time) 1sam 17: 1-51 David was a giant killer but in 2sam 21:15-17 that the giant killer when to war and grew tired, in exodus 17 8-13 there was war between Israel and the Amalekites (Daddy said relax your victory is not negotiable) as Moses hand were up the Israelite prevail but as a human he became tired but there is a God who is never tired and so the bible say they that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength ie those that are connected to God shall always renew their strength. So when you are connected to the one who is never tired you will soon discover that you will no longer know tiredness

And we must be inhabited by the greatest 1 John 4:4 (Daddy said someone is singing: it has been turning and turning and now finally it is my turn) greater is He that is in you – who is the greater than the greatest and the one who is able to exceedingly above…. So whenever you speak it will no longer be you but God speaking through you, 1 Pet 4 :11 says when you speak you speak as an oracle of God. Who is the one dwelling in you and if it is the almighty God then when you speak the enemy will hear God.
Stand on your feet and pray: Father dwell in me richly and make my heart your abode.
Now as we proceed on the rescue mission because that is what we will be doing from now, there is a procedure (Daddy said “forget the past it is a new day” and to encourage all of you to keep knocking all doors will open this year), the first thing to start with is “aggressive praise” John4:23-24 and when you praise Him aggressively He will draw near and then followed by aggressive prayers and whether you like it or not “aggressive giving” because for you to make the poor rich then you must learn to give aggressively .
Stand up and pray: Father everything I need to serve you please provide for me abundantly and I promise to give aggressively.
And above all, your faith must be aggressive mark 11:22-24 … the bible if only you will have faith in God whatever you say God will back it up and many of you will you don’t have faith but that is wrong, the truth is that you have faith but maybe in persons. Have faith in God and that is why you are here tonight but God want you to put that faith into action ie faith in motion.
Stand on your feet and pray: Father I trust in you, don’t let me be ashamed.

PRAYERS: Thank you for this first Holy Communion Service in Year 2018. Thank you for all that you have done, you are doing and that which you will do. Let there be New Miracles, Testimonies, Victories in Jesus Mighty Name we have prayed.
Look out for one or two people that you have not seen this Year and tell him or her Happy New Year.
BIBLE TEXT: EXODUS 12: 1-2 AND 30-33
1. And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying
2. This Month shall be unto you the beginning of Months: it shall be the first Month of the Year to you.
30. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
31. And he called for Moses and Aaron by night and said, Rise up and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go serve the Lord as ye have said.
32. Also take your flocks and your herds as ye have said and be gone and bless me also.
33. And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men.
It can take less than one day for the Almighty God to conclude all your Victories. It can take just a day, less than 24 hours to move somebody to be Totally Victorious. This is what we are saying in the story of the Israelites in our text. Before the night in question, they were in a helpless situation but by sunrise, they are in Total Victory. So will be your situation tonight in Jesus Name...Amen!
So it takes God less than 24 hours. All it take is God to turn a Totally Helpless man to a Total Victorious man
In Judges 15:1-15 (you may read 11-15); when the Philistines brought Samson bond; thoroughly bonded by 3,000 members of his family before God paid him a visit. Suddenly the man that was Total Helpless became Totally Victorious.
Daddy decreed that this Year even as a matter of fact before tomorrow morning; you will be Totally Victorious.
In less than 24 hours, God can transformed somebody from Total Destitute to Total Wealthy.
In 2 Kings 7: 1-11; we have the story of a people who are so broke that they are eating their children and in less than 24 hours, they have so much that they have no need to want to buy from another again. All it took was a sound from Heaven: the enemy heard it and fled and wealth changed hands.
Daddy is believing God for someone here tonight that long before the end of this Year, you would have forgotten poverty forever.
The children of Israel were broke but before the end of the day, the bible recorded that they spoilt on the Egyptians - they had all the materials that they can afford to spare some.
It takes less than 24 hours for someone that is completely sick to be Absolutely Healthy.
In Mark 2: 1-12; the young man that was brought to Jesus Christ by 4 men completely sick. His case was such helpless that he had to be carried in. But by Divine Intervention, the one they carried in, walked back.
Daddy is already excited about what the Almighty God will do this Year 2018 beginning with you right here now... Tremendous Actions of Healings will take place in our midst.
It is possible for God in less than 24 hours to change someone that is Totally cursed to Totally Blessed.
When you look at the story of the Israelites: working like an elephant and eating as an ant. They just had enough food to make them continue to work. The Egyptians made sure that they only have enough cloth just to wear to work. But within 24 hours, the one that is cursed became the one terrorising the terrors and begin to be a blessing.
Daddy is believing God for someone here tonight that long before the end of this Year, your enemies will be begging you for your blessings.
It takes God less than 24 hours to let someone who is Totally Bound to be Totally Free.
The mad man of Gadarenes is an example of what God can do in Marks 5: 1-20. This is a man that was mad that his case was hopeless (absolutely helpless) and it took just an intervention of God for the mad man to become an Evangelist of God.
Daddy decreed that if there is anyone here in any form of bondage even before tomorrow morning; you will be Totally Free.
It took only one meal - one Special Meal to turn the tides over. It is called the Passover Meal but today it is called the Holy Communion.
That is why Jesus Christ who is our Passover Lamb says: eat my body broken for you and drink my blood which is shed for you because its the Passover Supper and the bible says that the blood will do something for you when it is put on the door post and on the door sides such that even when death sees the blood, it will pass over you.
Daddy is believing God that for the fact that He has brought you into Year 2018; He will keep you throughout Year 2018.
The bible says that as they ate the Passover Meal, not a single one of them was feeble and they had the strength to travel for the next 40 years.
This Year 2018; you won't spend money on Medicine because the Great Healer will be taking care of you.
That is why the Holy Communion is a Sacred Meal and so we kept on reading the same passage all the time. Be careful not to eat the Meal unworthily as it is a very Powerful Meal and can lead to problem. But if ate worthily, it will Perform Miracles.
That is why we kept on saying that when eating Holy Communion; it is not breakfast or lunch but a Supper because we attached to Holy Communion this great passage: Weeping may endured the night but joy comes in the morning.
In Jesus Name if there is anyone weeping tonight before tomorrow morning; you will be singing for joy.
The Holy Communion is not a meal for sinners but children of God. If you are here tonight and you are not sure of your salvation then you cannot eat the meal unworthily. You need to start coming now so that I can pray with you and you won't eat it unworthily. Now proceed to the altar before I count seven (7).
THE ALTAR CALL....
It takes less than 24 hours to make you to be STRONGER THAN YOUR ENEMIES.
Tonight as you will be served the bread; eat it and pray thus: Lord make me Stronger than my sickness, diseases, aches and pains.
When they served you the wine, hold it until everyone is served and we will take it together. Then I will tell you the prayer to pray.
PRAYERS: When you drink the wine - Ask God to make you Stronger than All Powers and Forces of Darkness - witches, wizards, demons, herbalists, enchanters, diseases, sickness, aches, pains, evil forces etc...in the atmosphere, on earth or underneath. Empower me to be far far stronger than all my enemies. Empower me like never before.

Women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) may become pregnant with fewer treatment cycles by using device developed by a team of researchers from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and Stanford University that uses an "obstacle course" to sort and select faster and healthier sperm cells for use in IVF treatment.

This new device was created by a team co-led by Erkan Tüzel, associate professor of physics, biomedical engineering, and computer science at WPI, and Utkan Demirci, professor of radiology and electrical engineering (by courtesy) at Stanford University.

The microfluidic device, which can be used in clinics, is dubbed SPARTAN, short for Simple Periodic ARray for Trapping And IsolatioN. It uses a field of three-dimensional posts that create an obstacle course for the swimming sperm cells. The strongest and healthiest sperm get through this array the fastest and then are collected at the outlet to be used in the IVF process.

Traditional sperm-sorting methods used in IVF treatments select sperm that are the fastest swimmers. The SPARTAN device collects sperm that are the fastest and also the healthiest because it culls out those with malformations, such as bent necks or larger heads, which can slow their movement.

The device select sperm with excellent motility, but also with normal morphology and better DNA integrity, helping families worldwide by reducing the stress of multiple IVF procedures, while potentially increasing pregnancy rates.

The SPARTAN device is about 4 millimeters wide and 12 to 16 millimeters long. Sperm are simply injected into one end and the fastest and healthiest are collected on the opposite end for immediate use in in vitro fertilization. The device also prevents the type of damage to cells that can occur with traditional sorting methods, such as those using high-force centrifuges.

Because SPARTAN can be used in the fertility clinic, sperm do not need to be frozen and shipped to a lab for processing; the in-clinic sorting procedure takes between 5 and 30 minutes. This new sperm-sorting device could mean that patients will spend less on IVF treatments, because with the new sperm sorting technology they could be able to become pregnant without going through as many treatment cycles.

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

MESSAGE
Whenever I ruminate over the many-sided blessings embedded in the Good News that came through our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, my heart is filled with great joy. I equally find it fascinating that no elaborate process involving complexities is required for us to access these blessings. Jesus did the hard work and made things simple for us. One of such blessings is freedom from condemnation. The righteous judgment of God against sin has brought all of mankind under condemnation. This is the reason why no man can escape the pain of guilt that results from sin, or the consequences that follow it. Romans 3:23 says,
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,”
Romans 6:23 further says,
“For the wages of sin is death,”
However, the Good News is that Jesus Christ gives us freedom from the condemnation that had put a seal on the destiny of all mankind. In Romans 8:1, this Good News says,
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Those who are in Christ Jesus can now live a life free from guilt of sin or the feeling of inadequacy resulting from past misdeeds. Their conscience is liberated from condemnation because they know their sins have been washed away by the precious blood of Jesus (Revelation 1:5). What does it take to access this blessings of freedom? Only Believe! Believe in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, believe He is who He says He is, and believe in the work of salvation He has completed. How do you know you truly believe all these? When your actions and confessions reflect what you claim to believe, that is when you truly believe.
Another blessing of the Good News that you can have access to by faith is the truth that Jesus Christ, though rich, became poor, so that through His poverty, you might be rich (2 Corinthians 8:9). Your faith in this article of the Good News will prevent you from doing diabolical or criminal things to get rich, because you know that your prosperity lies in the sacrificial life that the Master has lived. Believing in the words and works of Jesus gives us contentment, the absence of which brings many sorrows to those who want to be rich by any means (1 Timothy 6:6-10). Beloved, do you believe all these? If you do, live your life by the ideas of the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will forever be free from condemnation, now and in eternity.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to live according to Your will, so that I may not be condemned with this world. Grant me grace not to lose sight of the words and works of Jesus. Amen.

Drinking too much water can be deadly for an infant, and even small amounts offer little benefit to babies. Water is key to adult health, but babies get fully hydrated from drinking breast milk. When an infants drink too much water, the sodium levels drop too lo, this hinders the process of nutrients, which can cause seizures, coma and death.

According to pediatric nurse Danielle Stringer, for the first six months of infants lives, they are better off getting all of their calories and water from breast milk or baby formula. Drinking water can deprive babies of calories that they need in the first six months of their lives, leading to malnutrition and death.

The American Academy of Pediatrics advises that infants should consume exclusively breast milk - if at all possible - for the first six months of their lives, and continuing with supplemented soft foods and drinks through their first year. When babies drink too much water, it knocks their sodium to fluid ratio out of balance, and they can die of water intoxication.

Their bodies will try to overcompensate by having the cells take on more water, which will result in swelling all over the body, including the brain, which can result in seizures, coma or brain death. In rare cases when a baby is given an inordinate amount of water, this can happen suddenly, it's more likely to occur with small doses of water, over time.

Long before they seize, a lot of babies will just start to show signs of malnutrition, such as losing weight and swelling. Their tiny, rapidly growing bodies need about all the calories they can get, meaning they need nourishment - in the form of breast milk or baby formula - about every two to four hours. Breast milk is about 88 percent water, so new mothers that can breastfeed need not worry that their infants could get dehydrated.

At six months old, you can offer water to your baby in a sippy cup, but they don't typically need it because they are still getting breast milk or formula. Between six and 12 months old, it is safe for infants to have two to four ounces of water, but even then, interestingly, babies are smart enough that they're mainly not interested in water at that age, and parents need to know that that's totally okay for them.

According to latest research, hair transplants cure migraines, the cosmetic procedure prevents headaches in people who have suffered crippling pain for up to 20 years, a Turkish study found.
After undergoing hair transplants, migraine sufferers who experienced agonising discomfort for up to four hours, several times a month, no longer require any pain-relieving medication.

It is unclear how hair transplants prevent migraines, however, it may be linked to the surgery destroying nerve endings in the scalp, reducing signals that trigger such pain. Migraine is the third most common condition in the world, affecting around one in seven people. Researchers from the SO-EP Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery Clinic, Turkey, analysed six patients who suffered from migraines and underwent hair transplants.

Of the study's participants, two suffered pain at the front and base of their heads; two at the base and around the ear; and the remainder at the front, base and surrounding ear area. On average, they experienced such headaches for six days a month, with the pain lasting around four hours.

Their pain scores were between five and eight out of 10. All of the participants tried pain-relieving medication for their headaches before having their hair transplants. Some of them had suffered with migraines for up to 20 years.

After their hair transplants, each participant was checked once in the first month and then every three months. Results reveal all of the participants stopped experiencing migraines after their hair transplants and no longer require pain-relieving medication. Hair plantation in bald migraine patients may be an alternative to migraine treatment.

MESSAGE
A. Since the advent of sin into this world, life
has become a battle for mankind.
1. In the battle of life, one is either an
overcomer or a victim.
2. My prayer for you is that you will live the
rest of your life as an overcomer in Jesus’
Name. Amen!
3. Today’s memory verse expressly reveals to
us the secret of overcoming in the battle of
life: “…whosoever shall call on The Name of
The Lord shall be delivered:”
4. However, The Truth in this verse of
Scripture throws up this question: “How
then shall they call on Him whom they have
not believed?” Romans 10:14
5. Therefore, before you can overcome by
calling on The Name of The Lord, you need
to first believe in The Person of The Lord
Jesus Christ and in His Finished Work on the
cross of Calvary.
6. When you believe this and you confess so
with your mouth, you become “born of
God”.
7. Here is what the Bible, in 1 John 5:4-5,
says about those who are born of God: “For
whatsoever is born of God overcometh the
world: and this is the victory that
overcometh the world, even our faith. Who
is he that overcometh the world, but he that
believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
B. Living the reality of being an overcomer in
this world.
1. Means that you daily experience the
victory that Christ has obtained for you over
the enemies of your body, soul and spirit.
2. It means living your life everyday as
having been delivered from the power of
sin, and when you overcome sin, you have
invariably overcome death, which is at the
pinnacle of the battle of life.
3. James 1:15 says, “Then when lust hath
conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin,
when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
C. Are you under any siege in the battle of
life?
1. Has life dealt you so many blows that you
do not have the will to go on?
2. Don’t give in to depression, and don’t
contemplate suicide.
3. This is a great time for you to accept Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Saviour, through
genuine repentance.
4. In prayer, call upon the Name of Him That
is able to save, and you will overcome!
5. Are you saved but still living under the
shackles of this world?
6. It is time to realise who you are, shake
yourself up from the dust of pity and begin
to enforce the victory that Christ has won
for you!

Message
Only a fool would think that he or she can
exist independent of God, who is the Maker
of the heavens and the earth and all that is
in them (Romans 1:20-22). Moses, the
servant of God, knew this and he
consequently did not make the mistake of
doing anything without God’s approval. In
today’s Bible reading, he insisted on the
presence of God going with them as they
journeyed through the wilderness to the
Promised Land.
There is this story of three fishes in the sea
living under the threat of sharks. They went
to the Almighty God to ask for help
concerning the danger of death looming
over them.
The first fish asked God for many eyes so
that it could see sharks approaching from
any direction and escape to safety. The
second fish demanded for wings so that it
could fly away from the reach of sharks
whenever they came after it. The third fish
only asked for the presence of the Almighty
God wherever it went. The Lord granted all
their requests, and they swam away happily.
Not long after, sharks came after the first
fish, and immediately with its many eyes, it
saw them coming! It took a jump into a
nearby pond where the sharks could not go
and began to laugh at the sharks. However,
the water in the pond soon began to dry up
and this fish died. The second fish also saw
sharks coming for it, because it had been
granted wings, it flew like a bird out of the
water, but only to be caught in the air by an
eagle flying by. So, the second fish ended up
in the stomach of an eagle, which was
happily surprised to have a delicious fish as
its mid-flight meal. In contrast to these, the
third fish, which had wisely requested the
presence of the Lord, went swimming about
without any fear of death from ferocious
sharks. It was basking in the protection that
comes with carrying the presence of the
Lord. When the mother-shark would not go
after it, the baby-shark asked its mother,
“Why don’t we eat this beautiful fish?” The
mother-shark cautioned it against
entertaining such ideas, pointing to the
shadow of the Almighty God following the
fish everywhere.
Beloved, all that you need to succeed and
have breakthroughs this year is God’s
Presence in your life. I therefore encourage
you to give your life totally to God through
Jesus Christ. For His Presence to envelope
your life, you need to walk daily with Him by
fellowshipping with Him in the place of
prayer and worship, and by framing your
every thought around His Word. If you are
faithful in doing this, He will abide with you,
and you will live in safety throughout this
year and beyond (Psalm 91:1-2).
Key Point:
The God that creates is the One that
prospers, and He is the One that protects.
Seek and ask for His Presence in all that you
do from today.

Keeping egg cells in stasis during childhood is a key part of female fertility. A team led by Dr Gavin Kelsey in the Babraham Institute and colleagues in Dresden and Munich studied a protein called MLL2 and discovered how it produces a distinctive pattern of epigenetic marks that are needed for egg cell stasis. A fertilised egg cell is the start of every human life. Yet, egg cells are created inside a woman's body before she is birth.

The eggs are then kept in stasis throughout childhood until they're needed as an adult. If egg cells don't go into stasis they can't become mature eggs and they will never have the chance to form a new life. Putting an egg cell into stasis involves adding many epigenetic marks throughout its DNA.
Epigenetic marks attached to DNA act as footnotes, indicating which genes are turned 'on' or 'off'. The team had to create new, highly sensitive ways to detect epigenetic marks in such small numbers of cells.

As eggs develop, a mark called H3K4me3 spreads throughout the genome. Scientists have already seen the same mark close to the start of active genes in many cells, but the team discovered that its role in egg cells is different. They showed that the MLL2 protein is responsible for this unusual placement of H3K4me3 in egg cells.

Without MLL2, most H3K4me3 marks in egg cells are lost and the cells die before getting the chance to form a new life. H3K4me3 is created in two ways. MLL2 can add the H3K4me3 mark without any nearby gene activity while another process, that doesn't use MLL2, places the same mark around active genes .

Message
King Hezekiah declared a profound truth when he testified that only the living can praise the Lord ( Isaiah 38:19 ). Children of God, as living spirits, we have many reasons to be thankful for. Whenever I consider the lovingkindness of God and His tender mercies, demonstrated through protection, providence, love, forgiveness, healing, good health and, above all else, salvation of the soul, I always come to the conclusion that indeed the Lord has been very gracious to His children. No wonder the Holy Spirit, in Psalm 150:2, succinctly instructs us to
“Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.”
This is so important that in Psalm 103:1-5, David counsels his own soul to bless the Lord in thanksgiving, admonishing himself not to forget any one of God’s benefits. In other words, there is tendency for us to forget all that the Lord has done for us. Nevertheless, we have no reason to be ungrateful to God, because His goodness forever flows to us. Prophet Jeremiah testifies of this truth in Lamentations 3:22-23, saying:
“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Moreover, what is our joy as children of God? It is the assurance of better tomorrow: the assurance of better year ahead of us. Only those who are saved by the grace that is in Christ Jesus have this assurance. Declaring this assurance, the Holy Spirit in Isaiah 3:10 says,
“Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. “
Who is the righteous? The righteous is the one who has accepted Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Saviour. The righteousness of Christ is bestowed upon such person because they believe and have appropriated the ransom paid on their behalf by the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world ( John 1:29 ). God is saying to you that you should be grateful to Him for all He has done for you in the past, particularly in the just concluded year . If you remain thankful, your tank of blessings shall be full as you go into the New Year. However, not giving your life to the One who paid the supreme price for your salvation is the greatest form of ingratitude. Therefore, repent and give your life to Christ today! He will be your Shepherd and you shall want nothing throughout the New Year and in the years to come. Hallelujah!
Action point:
Thank the Lord for all His goodness and mercies over your life in the past; give your life to Him afresh and renew your commitment to serve Him in holiness and perfect obedience in this New Year.

*Introduction»*
God resting on the seventh day was for the benefit of man and not for God's benefit. actually the word used in the Hebrew can as easily be translated "ceased" as it is rested. Jesus gave us insight into this in : Mark 2:27 "And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath." Also, Exo 20:8-11 says "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter; thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. *For in six days the LORD made the heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day.* Wherever the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hollowed it." This is not the only time God has done something He did not need to restore recharge as it is with men but He rested just to set an example for us. Another was when Jesus was baptized in Matt 3:13-15.
*LESSON OUTLINE*
*Why Fluid God Need to Rest on the Sabbath Day of Creation?*
Gen 2:2 says "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made."
1. God rested not because he was tired, but because he had "completed His work" (Gen 2:2). God, who is infinite in power, scope, knowledge, etc., does not need to rest from fatigue. Being tired is a function of biological organisms and God is not a biological organism but spirit.
2. *Because He settling into His newly-constructed home.* The picture of go 'resting' on the seventh Swithin the context of Genesis 1 tells us that the universe He had just created was intended to function as His 'temple' with humanity as the temple icon, reflecting His image (I.e. 'the image of God') into that 'temple'.
3 God is described in the Bible as being spirit (John 4:24), and spirit does not have flesh and bones (Luke 24:39). Therefore, God is not biologically-based.
4. Furthermore, God is eternal in both the past and the future (Psm 90:2), and He is the only God (Isaiah 43:10; 44:6, 8; 45:5). This means that God does not need any outside energy source to complete Him or replenish Him because He's completely self-sufficient. Therefore, God can never be tired and ti support this, the Bible describes Him in Psm 121:4-5a "Behold, he that keeper Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper".
*CONCLUSION*
God did not merely "rest" on the seventh day; He "stopped creating." It was a purposeful stop. Everything He desired to create had been made. He looked at His creation, and declared it "very good" (Gen 1:31), and ceased from His activity. His rest on the seventh day is typical in the rest we have in Christ (Matt 11:28). On the seventh day, which is the Sabbath day, the day of rest, Christians cease from their work, just as God did . While we need to be replenished, God does not.

MESSAGE:
Although God is much very willing to help you, before you can receive help from Him, you have to first settle the issue of your spiritual location. In today’s Bible reading, when God came visiting Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, and He did not find them where he expected them to be, He made a passionate call to them saying: “Adam, where are you?” If God will help you, He needs to know where you are. Do you want God’s help today? If yes, where are you standing presently? Are you where you were at the beginning of the year? Are you stagnant, unproductive, unprofitable, and not making progress? In the parable of the talents, the fellow who received one talent proved to be unproductive (Matthew 25:24-30). That is however not God’s expectation of you. Some people are unproductive because they do the right thing at the wrong time. Proverbs 10:5 says,
“He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.”
There is a time for everything. There is a time to work and a time to rest. Rest follows work and not the other way round. Today, quite a number of people unfortunately go on vacations even though they have not worked. Rest is earned. If you rest without deserving it, you will be showing to the whole world how unwise you really are. When many children of affluent people, who never worked one day to earn an income, are bequeathed with great wealth, the next thing they think of doing is how to go on a spending spree of the funds they never worked for.
Beloved, where is your present location? If you are located in laziness, disobedience, self-will or unforgiveness, receiving help from God may be a mirage. If you are sleeping when you should be actively engaged for the Master, you are a shame to the Body of Christ. The harvest of this world is already ripe and gradually becoming overripe. This is harvest time. How many souls did you personally win to Christ this year? Is there any significant improvement to your life compared to last year or have you lost further grounds to laziness, procrastination and idleness? Can you say you are experiencing progress? Movement can be sideways, forward or backward. May you never go backward in Jesus’ Name! Consider your location and take appropriate steps so that you can receive God’s help this season.
ACTION POINT:
Before asking God for anything make sure you are not located in disobedience or unbelief.

MESSAGE:
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes3:1
It is clear from the above scripture that in God’s timetable, there is a time for everything. Life is split into different seasons. There is a time to weep and a time to laugh; there is also a time to mourn and a time to dance (Ecclesiastics 3:4). One lesson here is that every man is expected to go through the ups and downs of life. In order words, if you go through a weeping season, you will equally go through a laughing season. If you have experienced a season of mourning, you will also experience a season of dancing. However, if all you experience is the down seasons, something is most likely wrong somewhere. The forces of darkness, together with their human agents, often do what they can to manipulate their victims so that they never experience the good seasons of life. Every evil plot against you that is geared towards separating you from your good seasons shall come to naught in Jesus’ Name!
“But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.” Luke 16:25
In Luke 16:19-31, the Lord told the story of a rich man and a certain beggar named Lazarus. These two characters experienced different seasons on earth that contrasted greatly with the seasons they found themselves eternally living in after they died. While the rich man enjoyed a good season on earth, he found himself in an unending season of torment in eternity. On the other hand, Lazarus experienced very bad seasons while on earth, but he found himself enjoying an unending season of joy in eternity. One crucial lesson here is that if your stay on earth is just to enjoy yourself without giving consideration to having a good relationship with God, be prepared to spend an eternity without God. If you live life without Christ, you will live an eternity separated from God. In other words, how you live today will determine the permanent season you will experience in eternity. What season are you bringing upon yourself for eternity? In our Bible reading, rich men living in so much affluence and engaging in the excesses of the rich were asked to mourn over the evil season that would befall them in time to come. Are you going through a bad season in life? You shall soon enter a new season of joy in Jesus’ Name. If you are in Christ, that season of joy will led to a permanent season of joy in eternity. Thank God for your new season of joy. Hallelujah!

MESSAGE:
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10
God’s expectation concerning your service towards His Kingdom and your service in your workplace is that in both cases, you serve with the mindset of one serving God and not man. He expects you to render excellent service and to serve without hypocrisy. One mark of hypocritical service is the desire to please men rather than God. A hypocritical worker is more concerned about entering and remaining in the good books of his or her superiors but really does not care whether God is pleased or not. You will commonly find eye-service in such people. Eye-service is service rendered only when the employer is watching. Eye-service is unacceptable to God, especially in His vineyard, and for this reason, the Holy Spirit warns us against it in Ephesian 6:6 saying,
“Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;”
In the sight of God, a fellow given to eye-service is a hypocrite. When such people do some work for God, it is not from their heart. They are not bothered about the work being done in line with God’s will. All they are concerned about is being seen to be ‘doing something’ by their superiors. They love to be praised by their pastor or superior as being dutiful, diligent and supportive, but is that the record that God has of them?
If you love the praise of men more than the commendation of God, you do not yet know what it is to serve the Lord. The truth is, work or service rendered with eye-service will definitely miss heaven’s mark, and runs the risk of losing heaven’s rewards! How faithful are you to God and His work? Also, how faithful are you to your employer and the objectives of your job? Eye-service is characterized by deception, lies and pretense. If you work in this way, your service is unto the leader whose favour you seek and not unto Christ. You cannot serve Jesus Christ and still have the target to please men. Colossians 3:22 says your service should be backed by the fear of God. If you truly love and fear God, you will serve Him and do whatever He asks you to do, whether your superiors are there or not. If you still see traces of eye-service in your life, repent and turn a new leaf today.

MESSAGE:
Yesterday, the Lord spoke to us about His
intention for Christian homes not just to add
to the population of the earth through
procreation, but to produce children that
meet heaven’s specification of godly seed,
who will represent God everywhere they go
and obey Him to the letter. May your home
produce such godly seed in Jesus’ Name!
Another reason why God established the
institution of marriage is to prevent
fornication. 1 Corinthians 7:2 says,
“Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every
man have his own wife, and let every
woman have her own husband.”
This scripture speaks of the need for
husband and wife to be intimate so as not
to fall into the pit of sexual immorality. It is
common in some homes today for the wife
to deny her husband of intimacy just
because he has not fulfilled certain requests
she made, or for the husband to deny his
wife intimacy because he is not happy with
her. This is at variance with God’s
expectations and an abuse of the purpose
of sexual intimacy. It is wrong to use sex as
a tool for punishing your spouse. People
should learn to isolate issues and not mix
them up. Neither the husband nor the wife
has the power to deny sexual intimacy
except it is a temporal arrangement, for the
purpose of prayer and fasting, and this must
be by mutual consent. Denial of sexual
intimacy is viewed as fraud from God’s
perspective (1 Corinthians 7:4-5).
Both the wife and the husband should strive
towards fulfilling the godly sexual desires of
their spouse. This is necessary because it is
one way the couple will be protected from
the hawks outside their home. It is only a
foolish woman who will give conditions for
intimacy. When you starve your spouse of
intimacy, you expose him to external
dangers and temptations. Some women
who are married to pastors and ministers of
God take it for granted that their husband
can never go out of their matrimonial
homes, and as a result they begin to deny
them sexual intimacy at will. Going by recent
realities, such women may get the shock of
their lives! There are those who use

I don’t suppose such people can be more
spiritual than Apostle Paul, who wrote the
admonition in 1 Corinthian 7:4-5. Some of
these people are almost always fasting and
praying. Please control your fast before you
cause irreparable damage to your home.

READ: Malachi 2:14-15
2:14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.

MESSAGE:
Marriage between a man and a woman is approved by God. Besides companionship and receiving a life-time helper, another reason why God established marriage is for the continuity of the human race. Genesis 1:28 says,
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
After creation, God blessed man to be fruitful, to multiply and refill the earth. Similarly, in Genesis 9:1, after the great flood that wiped out all of mankind except Noah and his family, God pronounced the same blessing on them. Beloved, God loves fruitfulness, and that is one reason why He instituted marriage. He wants the human race to multiply and spread all over the earth. His desire is for the earth to be subdued and dominated by man whom He has created in His own image. However, this does not justify raising a family without planning for it. If you are married, you and your spouse should prayerfully decide how many children you would add to populate the earth. Never bring children you are not able or prepared to take care of into this world.
While God wants all of mankind to multiply, He particularly wants those who are His own to bring forth godly seeds. In order words, while regular inhabitants of the earth are reproducing and adding to the world’s general population, believers are expected to raise godly seeds that would later reach out to the rest of the world. In today’s Bible reading, the Lord plainly stated that He allowed His children to marry so as to produce special children: a godly breed. God wants children who meet ‘heaven’s specifications’ from the homes of His people. Can He say that He has found them in your own home? Not every Christian family can raise these special breed of children, even though they have the potential to. It takes a deliberate collaborative effort between the Holy Spirit and parents to raise children who meet God’s specification of a godly seed. These are heaven-bound children who will walk closely with the Holy Spirit in their lifetime. Their foundations are laid in God’s word and doctrine. They are grounded in the knowledge of God and are carriers of His light. May God help us raise godly seed for His glory in Jesus’ Name.
