I think they may just ask the parent to choose either Left or Right head!

Since the baby have two spinal cords, it means each spinal cord innervates each part of the associated body so removing any one of the heads will affect the sensory and motor function of the associated part so obviously they can't remove any of the head.

The rock sample contain a trioxosulphate(iv) and the gas evolved is sulphur(iv) oxide which is a reducing agent which changes the orange colour of K2Cr2O7 to green.
