At dis point now after making several calls I was able to speak wt d business manager and I told him dat I have been deceived and after several minutes he called back and said I shd pay 870dollars within seven days, y am very concerned abt dis is because I do not want any debt hanging on my neck, I came here wt d intention of paying, I don't even want aid but I wanna make sure I pay wt what is within my budget dats y before anything is done I always wanna clarify on d costs involved, I can't ignore them at this point cos it could list me as a debtor, I dnt even have d extra 870dollars to pay right now sef, am so pissed

Pls I need your help here o, remember I mentioned I went to a health center affiliated with Harris County Hospital District all in search of medical attention,as usual my first appointment which required an OB screening as they said was free when I booked d appointment, behold,this morning I got a bill of 2,600dollars (two thousand six hundred dollars for d lab tests I did which falls under OBscreening, I only went to d health center once and never went cos I didn't like d fact dat they couldn't give me an estimate of cost of delivery,they said they normally send a bill afterwards so I didn't continue with them, I got another hospital and a doctor which gave me a range that was within my budget. Now I even called d billing dept hoping d bill was an error,and they r telling me they can give me a discount of 30percent or I shd apply for chips or aid or whatever, I called all d numbers dat I used to get d appointment,they still confirmed to me dat OBscreening is free yet the billing dept of d Harris County Hospital District is stating dat I either apply for aid to take care of d bill or I take d discount, I feel I have been deceived by these americans,my host is so furious,she is thinking we should get a lawyer, I didn't want any aid in d first place dat was y I kept asking to make sure I get it right d first time,right now am so confused, pls help

Thanks for d info, but won't dis free medicals affect one's future visa renewal application? In my search for hospitals n a doctor here in houston I was able to get an appointment wt Harris county hospital district and I did an OB screening, I simply told them I was ready to pay cash for everything even when they suggested I apply for aid, I told them I am a visitor and am not qualified for such aid. The OB screening was free though

u can reapply immediately at least i am a living example, i was denied in august dis yr cos i applied wt my first son but was asked to apply wt my husband nxt time, i re-applied wt the entire family and we were granted in october same year, u just need to b sure of the reason for d initial denial and prepare urself well for d next interview,

I am currently in houston, and i have been searching for hospitals, its not been an easy task at all, infact the hardest is getting a doctor, u said a close friend of urs had her baby for less than 5k dollars in houston? thats cheap compared to what am seeing here, did she have an epidural as well? please let her give u d name of the hospital and doctor that treated her case, its over five days i have been hospital hunting with not much success,
its really getting to me right now, its either doctor's appointments are fully booked till next year or they cant take me cos am over 24weeks gone, some ppl r suggesting i go to ER of one of these hospitals but i know that is gonna cost me an arm and leg, pls HELP!!!!

I need your candid opinion about this cos i am about to make a serious buying decision. It is about the Nissan Altima 2.5S 2007 model,american spec. please has anyone used it and what is its performance like in terms of ruggedness, esp for our Naija roads and maintenance costs? are there any major faults it is known for? the only concern i currently have is that you press a button to start the engine instead of key, isnt that kinda risky? asi in, if any thief gains entry into the car, he could drive it? am concerned cos i will use it here in Naija ( i dont want a situation where i will park at a public place and my mind won"t be settled) or are there security measures i could put in place to settle that cos i obviously like this car maybe because i am currently using a nissan car which has never given me a headache, and its so cheap to maintain.
on a scale of 5, how would you rate this vehicle?

example; fuel economy -5, maintenance cost-5, etc

yes its true, esp if the woman is obviously heavily pregnant without lots of cash to show as evidence dat she can pay her bills in the event dat she gives birth, so she shd try wearing clothes dat will conceal or hide it a little, she shd go wt loads of cash, her return ticket shd b a maximum of 3weeks< when she gets in she can reschedule the date of return for a fee,

i e-mailed parkland hospital and they replied saying they are not receiving international patients at the moment, that they are only serving residents in dallas county, please anyone with info on a cheap birth center in houston? i really dont mind one since they are like one-third the average hospital price

I intend to stay wt someone,I understand dat I need an invitation letter from him,but would it b cool if he states his income in the letter?or would it be necessary for him to do a cover letter to d embassy stating his income and status?dat is in addition to d invitation letter?then since I am sponsoring d trip would I need stuff like payslips,income tax clearance,title docs of property,etc I really need a long list,I don't wanna go there and they'll say I didn't come wt insufficient docs, thanks again

Amya, someone has to go to their lagos office to pay for the visa n hotel reservationson ur behalf. since u have ur e-ticket,u dnt have a problem. the paperwork u need to do is fill a visa form,attach ur passport photograph and biodata page of ur passport(save it with ur name or passport number) in soft copy. u could scan the passport photo if u dont have a soft copy.make sure they are all in jpeg format.i could fwd d visaform to u. u will fwd all these to eknigeria@emirates.com
