Oyetezee: I need information on Test centers in Lagos for GMAT and the best way to register for the exam. the only test center sited by the GMAT site for Nigeria is ABJ.hi Oyetezee, seems we are in the same boat. Are you going for an MBA? Please which schools did you apply or intend to apply? I have applied to MUN, but I want two more affordable schools to boost my chances of quick acceptance. Also, when do you intend to sit for the Gmat? Do you have study packs? I have decided to go to abuja since I didnt get any response here, looking at 23rd January for the exam.please send me your email let us rub minds oh, I must pass this test at one sitting.cheers |
Beulah Hephziba: I am a lady Oga Fhemmmy. I will like you to read Bonne, Oga Siga and mine post without sentiment and compare notes with yours. I do not dispute with Oga siga, I only disagree based on experience, this advice might not be ideal for everyone, but as a mother with cool cash and God on my side I will not use my children as home ties come what may. I value children than study permit. ThanksIt is very obvious that you are very passionate about your kids, everyone is. I am a mother of three kids, but let us put sentiments aside. These guys are right, applying with these kids would need a very strong SOA to show that she can cater for the kids and also afford a nanny, cos Canada I believe is like AMerica, and because she would be attending lectures, who would look after them while she is in school? Remember she isn't expected to leave them all by themselves at this age. Secondly, they would serve as home ties. After six months she can still invite them for hols and from there change their status, they start schooling there. We are looking at best chances of getting the trv, as for me, as much as I love my kids,my eye is on the prize.Once I apply alone and get my trv, then getting the kids over to join me is piece of cake,it would only be a matter of six months. |
greatheights: Try https://www.notefull.com/ and dwnload their videos on each sections, wrks pretty well for TOEFL, shd do for IELTS too.Happy new year all, Please help a sister in urgent need oh, show me how I can also pass my GMAT at one sitting ie study materials, videos and links etc. I intend writing before the month ends and I no get 200k to dash these study centres that offer tutorials for just once a week for 6weeks.I also tried to register for the exam and realised on the www.mba.com only Abuja is a test center in Nigeria? In the absence of financial irresponsibility, I do not see anything wrong with having unrestricted access to bank accounts/finances. What is this money money money people are so protective about? the same money that you will leave behind when you go six feet under and by then, you would not have control over who spends it and how.... Two years ago, when I wanted to travel abroad to have a baby, because I was going to be away for a while, out of my own volition,I transferred all my cash to our joint account and changed the mandate to 'ANY CAN SIGN'. Meaning that if he decided to clear the account while I was away, he could. I really don't care. |
[quote author=seeprob]I applied for a candian visa for a short vacation with my wife and infant daugther in November 2013. our date of travel is in march 2014 as i stated in my application. i hve been to uk 3x and spent last yr xmas with my wife in the uk. i work with a drilling org (rig) and earn 544k (net pay). i hve 1.4+m in my statement when i applied with a statemet of our trip expenses/budget including ticket, meals, junks(micdonald),local transport, hotel accomodation, shopping, liesures(cinemas and similar) and emergency fund (340 CAD) all amounted to 10,100 CAD. In less than 4 weeks i was informed that my application is ready for collection as against the 185 processing days stated on thier website. my worries are 1. the time frame for processing is short (worried about the outcome 2. will my account balance be a problem....even though in my trip/budget statement i stated i will recieve my 13th month in november, leave in lieu, leave allowance, christmas bonus all amounting to 3+million by december. what do you guys think. i read about medicals and all that before visa issue....but no notice of medical in my case (may be for student?)[/quot..e] you do not require medicals for a visit visa. Have faith bro, it is well |
Thank God for the mighty deliverance of your parents. Indeed, all is well that ends well. Merry Christmas |

abbakacici: i was planing on doing my PHD, in finance, banking or accounting , my first degree was not that greet just 2.2 but my masters result based on my first semester result is looking ok not great, like 4.2/5 and i like to keep it, so i am to paid my tuition fees my self ( non funding) what are my chances of getting admission with like 4-4.5/5 masters, partial though with my ACCA, with like 3 years working experience including NYSC without any major publication may be my master thesis and gmat score of 700, if i can get into good school i do not mind funding the program myself, do i have a shoot or i should just look elsewhere because i try checking some few university the competition is very tough like University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business, have PHD in finance of competition is very high, most of the ten student they admitted this year have first class in both degree and masters with like 3.8/4 did internship in places like J.P morgan and Royal Bank of Canada, help some charity organisation etc, the only thing we have in common is our GMAT score with the class average being like 650 and i have 700.please when did you do your GMAt? How long did you prepare for it before you took the exam? I intend to register for next month... |
Before you invest, ask yourself two crucial questions: 1. Is it long term? 2. What is the level of risk I am ready to take? Like the saying goes, the higher the risk, the higher the profit. However, if you are risk averse, and you still want to make a good return, with guarantee of your principal, then you should buy treasury bills, these are in 91 day, 182 day and 364 day tenors respectively. they are very secure because this is how Federal Govt mops up excess cash from the economy. They sell t-bills via Central Bank who does the auction. To invest in t-bills, you can just walk up to any bank and tell them you want to invest in t-bills, you would be given a form to fill and you would state the amount (minimum of 100k) cos you are buying in the primary market. the returns are better than fixed deposits and safer too. Treasury Bills (Nigerian Treasury Bills-NTBs) These are short term debt instrument issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on behalf of the Federal Government to finance local debt. They are zero-coupon securities. Because it is guaranteed by the Federal Government of Nigeria, it attracts lower returns. T-bill rates serve as a benchmark for short-term rates in the economy. T-bills can be bought from primary and secondary markets. The minimum amount that can be bought at the secondary markets is N250mm. The primary market offers investors with below N250mm opportunity to invest in Tbills as the minimum amount in an auction is N100,000 and multiple of 1,000 thereafter Tenor Typical tenors are three-month (91 days), six-month (182) and one-year maturities (364); Auction dates Primary T-bills auction takes place every fortnight The second you can consider is Federal Government Bonds. these are long term investments that are also with very good yield (i.e when you compare with fixed deposit rates). They are also very secure because the debtor here is Fed Govt. Unlike t-bills, you cannot just invest in bonds except there is an offer issued from the Debt MAnagement Office of the Central Bank, and it is usually advertised in the dailies for investors who are interested and the tenors are 3yr,5r,7yrs (I am not very certain, will confirm this) The third you can invest in is mutual funds.Mutual Funds are financial instruments that allow a group of investors to pool their monies with a predetermined investment objective.Mutual Funds invest in a variety of stocks, bonds, money market instruments or other securities in line with the objective of the fund. These are handled by Fund Managers or Asset MAnagers. the rate of return is also good depending on the type of mutual fund and ranges from short term to medium term. please note: this is basically for those who are risk averse and are looking for something a bit higher than fixed deposit with commercial banks. |

ceo mr ca$h:I am very interested though I am a fall 2014 applicant for MUN, so please keep me in mind |
CS is always a last resort. It should not be the first option especially if labour is progressing normally and there are no complications in the process. Even in the Western world, it is supposed to be a last option. Just that some mothers are overly anxious, they wanna have their babies at a particular date, the doctors also do not want to waste time cos natural birth takes longer time compared to CS, so they wanna get the procedure done and move on to other duties. Research still shows that a natural uncomplicated delivery method is the safest. CS is still a major surgery, the woman loses more blood in the process, so there is more likelihood of getting transfused...there are still several other issues. Apparently, its advantage is that the baby's head shape isnt altered cos it didnt pass through the birth canal but for the mother, she gets to deal with issues of complications sometimes after delivery, pains and stitches in this part of the world (naija). And yes, people still die from CS. |
in no particular order: 1. Desperate housewives 2. Everybody hates Chris 3. Prison Break 4. 24 5. Meet the Browns 6. Tyler Perry House of Payne 7. Dirty Sexy Money |
@silicon, sorry for the denial, but from docs you submitted, it seems you omitted something very important- statement of purpose..... |
hi All, Just wanna start by appreciating all the contributors on this topic, you have given invaluable insights on how to apply successfully to gain admission, gain TRV as well as integrate into the Canadian system successfully. I really wasnt able to go through all the posts and chapters, but the ones i went through gave me boost of morale and motivation to start my application. I intend to pursue an MBA, have applied to MUN for fall 2014. Now I intend to register for GMAt because it is a requirement (minimum score 550) and because we have just two centers in Naija which is lag and abj, I am looking at doing it in January 2014 (work and family responsibilities). I am also hoping I pass at one sitting considering the costs and inconvenience of having to fly to lag or abj more than once for an exam, and also knowing that it takes 3weeks for the official test score to get to the school. My question to fellow experienced NLders that have done the GMAt is, How long did you prepare for it?did you really register with a tutor? Was the free sample questions downloaded from the mba website sufficient to pass the exam? i do not want to gamble with this opportunity because right now, I have started seeing Canada in my dreams already..lol I would appreciate your responses to this to enable me make my decision on when to take the test. many thanks y'all |
Pls call 08079763794 if interested. Pictures are too large so I suggest you drop your email so I can forward the pictures |
