UbanmeUdie:

My father! My father!!

Ride on sir!

Tithing dates far back before the Mosaic law. It is a covenant practice born out of revelation and insight into the deep things of God.

Father Abraham gave tithes.
Jacob gave his tithe.

And if we are Abraham's children and are now partakers of Abraham's blessings, then we must equally engage the deeds of Abraham (Hebrews 7).

Many are busy shouting, "we are now under grace, and not under the law, therefore the law should be done away with". Is this only regarding tithing?

I hope grace has now nullified the law that says thou shall not kill, thou shall not commit fornication, thou shall not lie, thou shall not worship any other god besides me, etc.

Many have become abusers of grace because they don't understand what grace is and what it has come to do.

Grace is the divine ability to do God's will without limitation where ordinarily, men would fail. Grace rides on the wheels of Mercy.

It is this mercy (divine pardon) that everyone enjoys today as a result of the blood that Jesus shed on Calvary. That is why, when many ought to have died instantly after committing a sin, they live on. Mercy suspends at outright almost instant consequence for sin and gives many chances for repentance.

The death of Jesus didn't abolish tithing because if it does, then it also abolished the sin of murder, idolatory and fornication.

His death only grants us divine pardon from the immediate consequences of sin.

I stand with Daddy G.O

Suddenly you guyz just realise the laws of moses still stands ( he who commits sin is nt expected to cast the first stone ? Aka grace tins). I taught you are protected from such laws through grace as explained by most of your modern day pastors including the "GO"you mentioned not this new definition of grace you're trying to make just to support your god sorry your GOs point of view.
We should stop deceiving our selves

Coming from someone that has travelled a lot, I am from north central and I have been to all the states in the north central onther than jos. I have only been to the outskirt of jos,
I have been to all the southwestern states, northwestern states other than jigawa and sokoto,i have been to all the south south states except cross river and akwa obom, I have been to south eastern states apart from ebonyi, and I can categorically tell you the most undeveloped region in nigeria is north east followed by my region (not proud of this) north central while the most developed region is southwest then north west. There is no debate on this fact other than in experience, lack of exposure and unnecessary bigotry.
Though when you single out states like imo compared to some southwestern states the difference. In beauty and development might be clear .
Other than rochas okorocha,s state most south-eastern states shouldn't be compared to any south western state. And for those comparing Port H to lagos. They are not comparable though PH is more developed than other southwestern states.

What people don't understand here is that marriage is part of the deen, its an aspect of the religion thus emphasising on what islam didn't bring to be part of it constitute innovation expecially if it involve a culture known historically to be associated with non muslims cultures,. Even the church stole its from pagans...

Because it has noting to do with religion, marriage is a part of islamic way of life thus everything about must be viewed in the light of islam. Deceive yourself you may but ring is a culture of non muslims peculiar to christains europeans or not. You can paint it all you want the truth remains the truth.
Finally for those quoting me that I said its haram.., I have not said such in all of my statements but I have mentioned that anyone that copies the ways of dis believers would be raised with them. Finally I would categorically mention here that wearing ring in it self is not haram as its sunnah to wear bronze (azirfa) precisely making sure you avoid gold or gold plaited rings expecially for men. "But wearing a ring as a symbol of marriage constitute bidia as marriage is part of the religion and in the least constitute imitation of non muslim cultures" this is my view to the best of my knowledge. Those mentioning guns, pants, suits are just ignorant of what bidia means in sharia and not in lug-ga (language). Above all Allah knows best

Surah Al-Hujraat, Verse 12:

"O you who believe! avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases is a sin, and do not spy nor let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the FLESH of his dead brother? But you abhor it; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, surely Allah is Oft-returning (to mercy), Merciful."

It is generally accepted that only cannibals and animals eat human flesh; hence, Qur'an present it in a rhetoric question.

# @underline, so how's wedding ring a matter of "imitation in religious rituals and acts of worship"?

# Islam doesn't go against culture exchange among people of cultural differences so long it is not a sinful act that Islam specifically condemned.

# For a fact, there are lots of things Nabi met the Arabs doing being part of their culture yet he never cancelled it. He only changed things that oppose Islamic beliefs.

# So what do you understand by the hadith?
Islam goes against certain cultures as long as its peculiar to non muslims or has a kufristic roots. Get your facts right. You have been blabbing without evidence. Islam went against jahilliya arab practices, so its not an issie of culture but tenets of the faith. Am done quoting you. Ure not forced to believe

AlBaqir:

For anything to be tag Haram in Islam, Quran or Rasul must have declared it Haram exclusively. Kindly show us a single verse or a single Hadith (even if it is weak Hadith) that specifically say "wedding ring" is haram. Thanks
This is epic..kindly tell us in the entire quran or hadith that forbade us from eating human flesh...

There are three sources of legislation in islam,
The quran, sunnah and fiqh on issues based on sunna as extablish by the companions.
That been said the issue of ring is clearly a non islamic culture and the rasool has forbidden on that my verse thus goes
: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (4031) and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood.

Secondly,

The Muslims have no need to imitate any of the other nations in matters of religious rituals and acts of worship, for Allaah has perfected His religion and completed His Favour, and chosen for us Islam as our religion, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):

“This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion”

[al-Maa'idah 5:3]

Finally,
It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you hand span by hand span, cubit by cubit, to the extent that if they entered the hole of a lizard, you will enter it too.” We said: “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said: “Who else?” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1397; Muslim, 4822.

To the op always asked religous matters from learned people so as not to be misled by small ignorant people. May Allah contnue to guide you and us all. Ameen
And to bayhaqi its better to say I dont know if you dont. Its safer and wiser

Islam for Muslims / Re: Is It A Must For A Muslim Wife To Wear Wedding Ring? by hamzeiy: 12:12pm On Nov 03, 2017
AlBaqir:

# Wedding ring is a cultural or social practice. While it has nothing to do with Islam, there's no command to its forbiddance. Therefore, it is neither obligatory nor haram to wear it. It is not even a recommended act or an act we frown at as far as Islamic laws are concern. On the other hand, some used to speculate that wedding ring is Christianic. That is a plain lie. Wedding ring is an European culture just like suit (coat) and tie is their's.

# However, the fact that your husband gave it to you, that means he wants you to wear it. I don't know his intention but norms of our society is "recognition". A woman with wedding ring is recognised and generally believed to be a married woman, and society gives her more respect. And men are usually back off the tail of such women (except perverted men).

# In India, their culture is not wedding ring but a red spotted ink at the forehead of a woman, that signify married or engaged. And keeping of moustache for men indicate married men.

* So, please look for your wedding ring and put it on provided you can still find it or talk to your hubby to provide another if he still wants it on your finger. May Allah strengthen and bless your family.

Wa Salam alaykum.

In as much as am trying not to be emotional on your response, am compelled to call you a jahil as there is no other way to say it more polite, ring is a culture associated with known muslims, that has root way bag to pagan romans (google should help you), thus is is an innovation to islam in it the least and an imitation of pagan culture. There is simply no hujja or prove that a muslim woman should where a ring, its alien to us and strongly discouraged. Remember the rasool s.a.w said whoever imitate a people would be among them,

Allaah has forbidden the Muslim to imitate the disbelievers, and the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him) spoke very sternly concerning that, as he said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” Narrated by Abu Dawood (4031) and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Sunan Abi Dawood.

Wearing ring is not only alien to Christianity (though they know noting about their history) but a full pagan culture.

Secondly,

The prohibition on imitating the kuffaar applies only to that which is exclusively theirs and which is not common to them and the Muslims.

What explains the meaning of exclusivity is that if the person who does that action is seen it would be said of him that he belongs to the group which we are forbidden to imitate. This can only apply to actions which are not done by anyone but that group. As for actions which are common to them and the Muslims, it is not correct to say that doing this is regarded as the forbidden type of imitation, because this action is not exclusive to them.

Based on that, the rulings on things that are only forbidden because they are imitation of the mushrikeen vary according to time and place, and according to different traditions and customs.

If that kind of clothing in a particular country is worn only by the kuffaar, then it is haraam for the Muslim to wear it in that country, but if in another country it is worn by both Muslims and kaafirs, then it is permissible to wear it in that country. Nowadays, wearing pants or suits is not exclusive to the kaafirs; rather they are worn by Muslims in most countries and they do not think that wearing it is imitation of the kaafirs, because it is not exclusively theirs.

Based on this, wearing it is permissible and there is nothing wrong with it.

We have previously quoted a fatwa of the Standing Committee for Issuing Fatwas which says that it is permissible to wear pants and suits, and it is not imitation of the kuffaar. See the answer to question number 105412 and 105413.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: What is the guideline on the issue of imitating the kuffaar?

He replied:

Imitation of the kuffaar may be in appearance, clothing, food and other things because it is a general word which refers to a person doing something that is done exclusively by the kuffaar, in such a way that whoever sees him would think that he is one of the kuffaar. This is the guideline. But if the thing has become widespread among both Muslims and kaafirs, then this imitation is permissible, even if it was originally taken from the kuffaar, so long as it is not haraam in and of itself, such as wearing silk. End quote.
