Car importation is capital intensive. It will tie your money down most of the time.

The best and safer route is if you get people to pay part payment for a vehicle of their choice before importing. Of course, there is a wait period.


If you really want to go into it, start with flipping Nigerian used cars, buy cheap. Some are with bad engines with great body, or people who just want to upgrade their vehicles.

The idea is to buy cheap, fix, and sell at a decent amount, of course you can, coz you bought cheap.


If you don't know anything about car repairs,
You might just be bringing business to your mechanic and making little profit with a lot of headache.


Whatever business you are into now, that has made you enough money to want to venture into car importation, I will rather you do more of that.
Getting in a business you know little about is a recipe for village peoples hands

Why will you apply for a visa again when you already have one?

Go back to your agent to clarify what he or she meant.

Unless maybe he was talking about a different visa category. For example, if you have a visitor visa but you're planning to visit the UK for work purposes, then you will need to apply for a new visa.

This has to do with the ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization). This was introduced last year for countries who do not need a visa to enter the AUK.

For now this for nationals of Bahrain, Jordan, Oman Saudi Arabia, UAE.

My experience @Alausa Passport office Today 8th of November, 2023.

12:pm Appointment, I got there 11:45pm. I walked straight inside the building facing the entrance gate.

The fair lady I met when I entered the building, after checking my documents, ask me to buy brown file and rope at the gate. Got it for ₦500. Then she referred me to room 12 where another check was done and stamp. I went back to the lady and she ask me to seat where they will call me for capturing.

Not quite long, another woman came out and ask for my file and I submitted to her, the next thing I was called in and the capturing was done. A slip was printed and given to me. Collection date February 2024.

Few minutes after I left the place, I decided to track my application by entering my app num and ref num, it all showed "mark green", except for the last part, "passport issued" saying "PP pending production.

The whole thing, didn't take up to 30mins. It was sweet and simple. Pls note, it is RENEWAL

Misspelt words and poor grammar are obvious errors – but less noticeable ones can lead to the door closing before you've even put your foot ,We ve all heard about the obvious mistakes which you’re told not to make on your CV, such as spelling or grammar, but there are some other things which can lead to the door closing before you've even put your foot in. Here’s a list of what to avoid:

Listing objectives and what you’re looking for
Here’s the type of thing many people write in their CV:

“As an experienced X I’m looking for a job which gives me a challenge and will allow me to further my career”.

Stating this is all well and good. However, by applying for the job you’re explicitly stating your interest in the role. There is no need to write such a statement, because it can actually have the opposite effect. What if the manager thinks that the role isn’t particularly challenging? Or the job doesn't allow for career progression? You’re ruling yourself out of the job by default with such statements. Instead, write about what makes you fantastic because that’s what the hiring manager is going to want to read.

Paragraphs (other than in the opening profile)
There should be no paragraphs in your CV. Managers scan CVs before actually deciding to read them. Time is of the essence for any hiring manager – they don’t want to trawl through a CV where the career history looks like the world’s most underwhelming autobiography. They want the information quick and fast. So don’t write an eight line paragraph about your job – instead break up it up into bullet points, with each one being no more than two lines long.

Separate responsibilities and achievement headings in career history
Remember managers hate reading CVs just as much as you hate writing them. So now imagine a manager scanning through your résumé – if they see the achievements section their eyes are automatically going to be drawn to it. Now you might think that’s a good thing, isn’t it? I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it isn’t. That’s because they’re just going to be focusing on your achievements without grasping the correct context in which they were made.

For example, say your achievement was to turnaround a small business within a market which was on the decline and managed to generate 10 million naira annual net profit. If the manager doesn’t understand the context, to them it might not seem like an impressive achievement. It’s important for the employer to know the full picture in order to appreciate the value of your achievement.

Therefore don’t separate these sections within your career history, instead merge them. A sub-heading called “responsibilities and achievements” will do. This allows the reader to get a better understanding of the correct context of what you achieved and how amazing it was.

Including full references
No one is going to contact your referees prior to you being offered the job. Unless it’s someone from a recruitment agency fishing for leads from your former boss. So just put “references available on request”.

Stating salary or reason for leaving
If you’re stating your salary you’re putting yourself in a more difficult negotiation position, because they know that you’d happily move for less. While previously they were willing to offer up to #500,000, now they’re thinking: “We can just offer #100,000 to #200,000” and you’ll accept.

With reason for leaving it’s similar. You’re bringing up an issue that doesn’t need bringing up. It’s a bit like pointing out that you dropped mayonnaise on your white shirt in the office, even though no one noticed. If they want to know the reason, let them bring it up – your job is to ensure your CV focuses on the positives and not things which could possibly have a negative impact.

Do you think it is appropriate to tell your potential boss about your private life before you even get to meet her? And let’s assume it is; is a document as important as a CV the perfect means to convey that bit of information?

You see, these and many questions usually beg for an answer when drafting the bio-data section of your CV. However, deciding to include your marital status in your CV is a matter of different strokes for different folks.

Remember that in my last post I made it clear that whatever would not help you land a job should never be included in your CV? Well, this pretty much looks like one of such things.

For most employers, this information is very unnecessary. It says nothing about your skills and ability to deliver on the job. Though, this information may be required when preparing your work benefits and other packages, you should at the least, get the job first, don’t you think?

Some may argue against this though. This school of thought believe your marital status should appear in your CV especially as this puts you in a pole position to land certain roles that require the stability and steadiness of a family man/woman. They say married people tend to take their jobs more seriously and stay longer on it due to the different responsibilities and obligation they to fulfill, in which a steady income plays a huge role.

To this I have one question; would your chances of landing such jobs be limited simply because you did not add information about your marital status in your CV? It is an obvious NO. Such information can be provided during the interview or even later when you finally land the job.

So to answer the overarching question, I’d say you should not include information about your marital status in your CV. It’s unnecessary. Period!

There have been tons and tons of How-tos on crafting a winning CV that will be just too perfect to be ignored by potential employers. Now, that’s all good stuff. But as with every form of knowledge, there is a basic, rudimentary and golden rule upon which the entire body lies. That one thing you can say is unarguable – the truth (if there’s any such thing).
As far as writing a great CV is concerned, there’s just ONE GOLDEN RULE..not two or three, just ONE: “If it will not help you get that job, don’t put it in your CV.”

Now this may go off as a no-brainer, but you really have to see a typical CV of a job applicant in Nigeria to appreciate the wisdom laden in this statement. Details like marital status, state of origin, religion, ethnic group, LGA of origin etc will not help you get a job. If anything, they will greatly hurt your chances of even landing an interview.

How so? There are number of reasons, but I’ll stick to one which I think you may easily relate to. While merit is a major factor in recruitment, we cannot overlook individual sentiments and differences in the different choices of employers and recruiters. Different people have different predilection, and sensitive details such as where you come from, what religion you profess, your marital status, tribe, age and co should be completely removed from your CV. I hope you catch the drift. In addition, these details have nothing to do with your skills, experiences and ability to deliver on the job, so why add them to your CV.

There are other factors that you must consider in crafting a great CV, but this one rule is essential.

A 91-year-old woman is believed to have suffocated during a sex game with her 49-year-old neighbour.
The woman was found on her bed naked from her waist down next to a intimacy gadget in Aveiro, 50 miles south of Porto, Portugal.

A married dad-of-two living next door has been arrested after DNA analysis of semen recovered from the scene.
He was released on bail after going before a judge who was told autopsy results showed she died from asphyxia thought to have taken place during a sex game that spiraled out of control.

The death is believed to be the result of a tragic accident.

A neighbour described the woman, who lived alone, as being “very active” despite her age and said the neighbour often went round her house to do odd jobs.

IT AND COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

MAIN ROLE
To develop, manage and implement integrated media plans to ensure relevant media opportunities are fully maximized for JID including support to internal teams with communications and media guidance.
To keep effective contact with relevant media contacts, ensuring positive and collaborative relationships are maintained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish positive associations with the public and mass media on behalf of their clients. Employers may include businesses, non-profits, government agencies and individuals.
Draft and send press releases that contain important updates about their clients to print and broadcast media outlets.
Handle incoming requests for information from media outlets.
To develop and maintain a strong network of media contacts ensuring contacts are kept up-to date in a central database
Maintaining social media accounts
Support the implementation of a social media strategy
Compile and circulate electronic daily news summary internally to other colleagues
Plan/create multi-media communications materials
Develop weekly newsletters for JID

QUALIFICATIONS
B.Sc Degree in relevant field

JOB ROLE
As part of its strategic growth, a new role has arisen within the organisation for a Business Development and Marketing officer.
The applicant will help to devise, develop and deliver a comprehensive strategic and tactical plan for business development, income generation and awareness-raising for JID.
JID is looking for a strong influencer and negotiator, who is self-motivated and has a proven track record of business development, marketing and communication.
You should be capable of radical thinking, developing new and innovative strategies for communicating JID's values.
The Business Development and Marketing officer will help to devise, develop and deliver a comprehensive strategic and tactical plan for business development, income generation and awareness-raising for JID.
To coordinate these activities, JID is looking for a strong influencer and negotiator, who is self-motivated and has a proven track record of business development, marketing and communication.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and deliver the strategy for JID's new business development, marketing and communication, appropriate to need and responsive to opportunity, in close collaboration with the Executive Director.
Research into relationships that should be developed and manage effective partnerships with both existing and new key corporate partners, NGOs, government, media and funders.
Project manage research, planning, delivery and evaluation of specific campaigns
Innovate and offer new ideas and approaches for developing JID, building relationships with other prospective business partners and with other networks and members where appropriate.
Developing good relationships with all relevant bodies and identifying methods of remaining cost effective in a marketing capacity
Entrepreneurial drive, passion and ability to help shape the organisation's marketing and communication strategy

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Relevant Degree in Business and / or Marketing-related subject
At least 3 years' experience working in a business development role in a corporate environment or an international NGO, social enterprise or government department.
At least 3 years' marketing and branding experience.
