Amedino99:They are the same... Osimhen just does those things way better, same style, same profile... But one is better at it than the other and that's my point |
Subzerooo:Their playing styles is actually the same, one is just better at it than the other. 1. Both can play with their backs to goal, hold up play ... Your classical target man no 9s 2. Have you seen Osimhen or Awóníyì doing legovers for instance? .. both don't give a shit about flair, just beat your man anyway, anyhow and shoot... Directness.3. Both are penalty box predators and both can dominate defenders physically on the ground and in the air. Osimhen just does these things far better than Awóníyì. That's why I think it's a like for like. However you can educate me on why you think their styles are not the same, maybe I'm wrong. Boniface however is a complete opposite of these things. In a tactical setup with a "target man" striker in mind, substituting your target man for a different profile of striker in-match will not work most of the time, except you've had time to work on tactical adaptations for when a particular player comes on, which I don't think National team coaches will have time to do in the 3 or 4 training sessions they typically have before matches |
TheGoodJoe:*What you think/see as the truth* Isn't necessarily the truth... Please note that. You always stand for what you think/believe is the "truth" from your perspective irrespective of what everyone else think (and respectfully too) which I think is commendable. My point is... Don't make the mistake of believing your opinion to be the truth always, especially on matters that are neither black nor white. |
kennysville:In my opinion the closest like for like Osimhen replacement is Awóníyì If Osimhen is not available, Boniface tactically isn't the ideal replacement |
TheSuperNerd:In my opinion we do already have a team that can score goals, even if we do not; I'm not sure that our coaches are adventurous enough to integrate anyone new into that midfield at this point... That said, realistically making use of our regular invitees is the way. However, looking at the player profiles the setups have always been wrong. The best system for our current group of players is a 4-2-3-1 A 4-3-3 will not work for the following reasons: 1. There's no natural number 6 to recycle the ball and glue the midfield together (Nwakali is about the only Nigerian player who can do a good job there, but of course we do not want to hear it) 2. We do not have pure wingers.. the only pure winger we have is Moses Simon, playing him on the right (hugging the lines which is his strength )and Ademola (inverted) on the left always causes a tactical imbalance when our full backs (who also enjoy hugging the lines) join the attack which a few days training (typical of National teams cannot fix). A 3-4-3 will not work because we tend to have five men at the back without the ball instead of a four or five man mid-field without the ball as it should be, leaving us very thin in the midfield more like a 5-2-3 without the ball, the midfield is then overrun repeatedly For instance Benin Away first half.. iheanacho was played on the right wing (which is scandalous by the way) without the ball I would have instructed him to tuck into mid-field and lead the press in that zone if I was the coach, instead he was just all over the place... 4-2-3-1 on the other hand will not need so many tactical instructions, the players will adapt easily and play at their best. The back four basically picks itself: Midfield pairing of Ndidi and Onyedika should start --- Ndidi the ball winner, Onyedika the distributor. Chukwueze on the right (inverted) Aina next to him hugging the lines to deliver crosses. Ademola on the left (inverted) Onyemachi next to him hugging the lines to deliver crosses Iwobi in the hole, Osimhen up top. This setup will deliver goals and can easily be implemented with little training, it is to be noted however that if Osimhen is not available in the system the second choice is not Boniface ( that guy is not a traditional number 9) this is why we need Taiwo Awóníyì to start playing regularly for his club It's not rocket science really |
This is what happens when a football team camp is like a movie set Bloggers everywhere, interviews full tiktok, do they even have time to train? ![]() |
[quote author=TheSuperNerd post=132905992]Barnsley Head Coach, Darrell Clarke speaking on Nwakali's performance today and his general attitude to training. Hear the actual truth from the horse's mouth and not the lies of the propaganda Lords of OGN and other media outlets. Watch here:⤵️ Barnsley coach said "Kelechi is a technically gifted player and a great lad" We are disappointed in him, how can a coach open his mouth and mention Kelechi and gifted in the same sentence?... Well the coach is probably the worst coach in the league and the least paid coach probably just a part time coach working night shifts at McDonalds, essentially he is saying bladderdash out of emotive bias typical of a low- level coach. Abi sir komekn... What do you think? |
Meanwhile... Our breads are done ![]() |
I don't know when our coaches will realize this 343 just doesn't work in African football Play your normal 433 for f**k sakes! Play damn proper wingers on both sides! Play a DM, CM and AM What the f**k is this 343! ![]() |
Shey na the Gabriel Osho be this ![]() |
If we beat Benin... Libya will definitely get the other ticket Last match will be Libya vs Benin Nigeria vs Rwanda Rwanda will need an outright win in Uyo which will be a miracle considering they will be playing against a very relaxed Super Eagles on a good pitch, ọmọ ![]() Ain't no way Libya will not get the win that takes them through against Benin, trust the Libyans to do whatever it takes.. Legit or not ![]() |
Odunayaw: ![]() Joe Agidiola! ![]() This is evil ![]() Just evil ![]() |
elyte89: I nor get strength to engage such persons... Small food wey I chop in this T pain era, make I come dey use am dey type insults online, dey burn energy wey nor deyMbanu ![]() |
isan: ![]() Only me... A dimwit smoking crack, isn't that too much for 1 person ![]() |
caprikon:I bet if Lookman himself knew he could turn out this good, the way Tammy Abraham backed himself to be the next Harry Kane and Tomori that played a few games for Chelsea and thought himself the next John Terry... He would have waited for England. |
TheSuperNerd:I thought you vowed to stay retired |
TheGoodJoe:You have actually been sounding utterly ridiculous since last night.. .. Even komekn has never ever descended to these levels. TheGoodJoe, you're one of the most respected "elders" here. Abeg just stop this sh*t, na God I take beg you. |
Sugarboyy:Nigerians go just dey shout incompetence, clueless upandan ![]() Action film dey sweet to watch until you get in a real gunfight and see your life flash before you. |
TheGoodJoe:Oga you shared zero insights Just plain annoying assumptions You a football analyst should know better, during a football match if an opponent pull my shirt and it escaped the attention of the referee, and because of that I decided to slap the opponent in retaliation, who get case? Who is getting red carded? And please just stop with this devil's advocate you're playing. LFF refused to foot the cost of a flight that will make their team comfortable, but it is the Nigerians that should be blamed for not running kirakita enough to save the day as spiderman/father christmas wey dem be? They should start commanding money out of nowhere? Call Akwaibom state government and scream Emergency! Emergency! Then money will be released in less than 3hrs, who exactly should they have called? The commissioner for finance or the state governor? At such short notice... Do you know how many months in advance it takes to plan a match and get funds released, do you how many letters get written and the approval stages involved? Please stop throwing the word "incompetence" around... When you have no idea what you're talking about! Reach out to Rivers state FA to put together a reception team with under 3hrs notice... Those ones nor get their lives to live, there is zero probability that most of their officials will be outside of Portharcourt at the time or even already in Uyo for the match a day before, No! they're always on standby in portharcourt waiting for the next order abi? Even the army cannot get boots on ground that fast! Baba just die this matter Abeg... This your reasoning dey vex person |
So no one is going to do anything about that horrendous offside call CAF needs to bring VAR What the f**k was that!! |
TheSuperNerd:I agree 100% |
TheSuperNerd: |
TheSuperNerd:Of course it is not the "most balanced" we can have, but it is the most balanced in a "while" This is way better than having just Ndidi and Iwobi in there And I think we need to reintroduce ourselves to the new Ndidi, he's no longer the destroyer we used to know ( considering his new club role) |
zuchyblink:The most balanced super Eagles lineup in a long while! |
Odunayaw:This season is on a different level. Last weekend... There was no single home win |
Has anyone noticed the significant rise in the frequency of away wins in the NFL this season? I hope it's the beginning of new things |
Alfryd:Forget it... Once he starts making Chelsea team he'll get called up by England and go the Tomori way |
komekn:Ladies and gentlemen.... Komekn says Carney Chukwuemeka's wage is proving a transfer stumbling block ;yet he is a top quality player! Komekn says The Lad is considering Turkey retirement league because "that is the only transfer window still open" yet he remains a top quality player! Komekn admits Chukwuemeka has been frozen out of the Chelsea team... Infact they do not want a loan, they want an outright transfer... As in they are advertising the lad for sale; yet he remains a top quality player!! The wonderful standards of Komekn, how predictably dynamic! ![]() |
elyte89:I'm not even saying he's a good or bad player... His name was not on the invite list... Abi am I missing something? |
mostob:This TANIMU guy... Sebi his name wasn't on the call up list released? At what point was he invited? |
For f**ks sake! Comot one of these defenders bring in a DM!!! Are these coaches all blind? |
komekn: Have you seen any drum rolls? If wishing a fellow country man GoodLuck in Turkey makes me shameless.... Then I'm proudly shameless. What would you have us do? Advice him to commit suicide because, this Is the end of the road for him? Or join you in putting him down, call him the worst striker in the world, English league 1 level? Then what? ![]() Afterall you don dey compare am with Benteke soon you'll say Solanke is better, it's not beyond you ![]() Àlàyé what you think or say is of no consequence on the man, his career and how the world sees him. He remains one of the best in the world in his position... Ain't nothing you gonna do about it! Meanwhile... Cook up that equation fast time dey go ![]() |
.. both don't give a shit about flair, just beat your man anyway, anyhow and shoot... Directness.
