PoliticsRe: After Intensive Aerial Bombardment, Boko Haram Retreats From Bama by hansad: 9:09am On Sep 07, 2014
UrbanMystique: Jonathan is smart, he waited for election period to do something. Don't be surprised if no one bombs until after election. Once they declare him winner again, he sends his solder to start bombing again whenever there is scandal to cover is ass.

Jonathan using boko haram to his advantage since 2011
Problem is a northern group trying to use religious violence to climb to power since 2000; Jonathan is not using advantage of Boko Haram to remain in office. In fact, despite Boko Haram war agains Jonathan govt, the government has brought more positive develoments to Nigeria than its predecessors and should have scored high votes in elections 2015.

50 killed instantly? Were they all Boko members? Hope the officers leading the air and ground forces are northern Muslims, if not northern spokespeople may take them to the Hague for genocide.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: 1200 Terrorists Killed In Bama As GEJ Declares Full-scale War by hansad: 5:45am On Sep 07, 2014
@Abdulomah80, if what you just recounted is true, it is a pity. But why must trained soldiers be so unwilling to fight Boko Haram? Answer: the soldiers' colleagues have been killed several times by Boko Haram because the soldiers were sabotaged by insiders sympathetic to the idea of sharia-ruled Nigeria which Boko Haram is fighting for. A soldier, even with best of training and arms/ammunition hardly engages in a fight which he knows his colleague can be an enemy any time. Remember how easily use of sharia crimnal codes spread and was embraced by majorly Muslim far north. Again, how could Boko Haram recruit very large numbers of northern youths to join Boko Haram? Answer is: too many northern people are in agreement with what Boko Haram is fighting for - Aso Rock and using Aso Rock power to impose Nigeria an Islamic country. But if Boko succeeds in getting Aso Rock for its political sponsors, there must be more chaos than now as Boko's Jihad must widen. Summary: if not for religious afffiliation of a very large number of people in the north to sharia practice which Boko is partly fighting for, Nigeria goverment and army would have since defeated Boko Haram.

Ogbon400: @Hansad,

You have made some interesting points, but your comment totally lack the geopolitical perspective of the Boko Haram. Have you ever heard of AFRICOM? Operation Barkhane?

You are reacting from a sectarian approach by trying to present the current destablization campaign against Nigeria as a religious conflict between Islam and Christianity while forgetting that Boko-Haram has up till today mainly killed muslim northerners. While I agree with you that that the adoption of Sharia law by many Northern states has provided a fertile ground for the propagation of the Wahabi religious ideology in this part of the country, it is also clearly established that these extremist groups are funded by Saudi Arabia and Qatar who are key Western allies. These 2 Golf states are totally under the security control of the West and all their activities in Africa are coordinated with the Western military alliance also known as NATO.

To defeat the Libyan Arab Jahamariya, thousands of radicalized muslim from around the world were brought to Libya with the logistical support of NATO in the last 3 months of their campaign against Libya. These are the folks who eventually managed to overthrow Gaddafi and who are currently controlling Tripoli. In Syria, the same Takfiri forces have been trying for the past 3 years to topple the "secular" regime of President Bashar al Assad. In Iraq, the Christian Chaldean Patriach, Louis Sako even went public 2 weeks ago by accusing the US to be behind ISIS. You checkthis info as it is all over Google. In Nigeria Boko-Haram is the West African branch of this international standy terrorist army that is controlled by Western imperialists and their local stooges. There is no way Nigerian politicians can provide night vision equipment,APCS, satellite images, encrypted telephones to an insurgency without being immediately tracked and arrested by the security agencies.

Nigeria who is a secular nation, is being attacked the same way Libya who was also secular was attacked and the same way Syria&Irag have been and are still curretly attacked. These 4 countries also have in common the fact that that they are oil producing nations
If you lie more I shall not reply you. Only truth can make Nigerians solve problem of B/Haria. First, some northern politiclans detested OBJ, a pagan presiding over Nigeria, hence north embraced sharia criminal codes to destabilize OBJ administration beginning year 2000. Boko came up and insists it is fighting for sharia. How did Africom force 12 northern governors in a go to embrace sharia, the sharia which gave birth to the B/Haram problem? Remember churches and southern tribes people were the early targets of Boko Haram, until most of the southerners fled the north, thence Boko haram started targetting ONLY Muslims WHO RESISTED BOKO's VIOLENT STYLE. Look, the West shiit and pee in their trousers whenever ISIS threats against the West is on the table. The West bombs ISIS often these days, if not, ISIS WOULD HAVE SINCE TAKEN BAGHDAD from US trained Iraqi army - and onward march to you know where. So how dare you say the West funds ISIS? You goofed more when you said the US could fund Saudi Arabia to fund Boko Haram. Like most strict Muslims, the Saudis may be happy if Nigeria becomes a member of the Islamic caliphate, so how could Western countries fund Boko Haram through the Saudis or through other Muslim countries? Nigeria's Boko Haram problem is fuelled by a northern Nigerian group that wants Aso Rock, and may use the opportunity to gradually or forcefully immerse Nigeria into full membership of the Muslim Caliphate. Remember story of smuggling Nigeria into membership of Organization of Islamic Conference during the 1980s? Was the West also behind that? Nigeria could have split then but for the interested military junta. Nigerians must look inward to solve the violence, not playing victim of the West. By the way, how much of Nigeria's crude oil do the West buy today that would make them have special interest in breaking Nigeria?

Ogbon400: The Nigerian Military is Winning
(That's why the Western led Psychological war against the Army is so intense)

Western imperialists are currently waging a fourth war generation against Nigeria What is a fourth-generation war? Fourth generation warfare is defined as conflicts which involve the following elements:

Terrorism
A non national or transnational base
Highly sophisticated psychological warfare, especially through media manipulation and lawfare
Lack of hierachy
Use of insurgency and guerrilla tactics

For the past few months, Western intelligence in complicity with some Nigerian media houses have been carrying out intense psychological operations aimed at demoralizing our men in uniform. The western media and its local agents keep describing Nigerian soldiers as cowards and unfit to combat. The reality is that for the past 4 years, the Nigerian army has managed to foil this western plot by killing thousands of Boko-Haram hired killers in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states. The western geopolitical objective being to partition the country by 2015, recourse to war propaganda has been extremely powerful in the past 3 weeks. Reports indicating that Borno state towns such as Gwoza or Bama have fallen to the Boko Haram terrorists are FALSE and part of the western led psychological warfare against Nigeria and its military.

Unfortunately, there are indeed terrorist elements who managed to infiltrate these two towns which forced the civilian population of these localities to flee to safer areas. The presence of terrorist rodents in some areas of these towns does not mean that the area is "controlled" by the mercenaries. The Nigerian army has kept all its positions in these towns and is inflicting tremendous losses to these western backed terrorists.

Similar destabilization tactics have been applied by Western vampires in countries such as Libya, Syria, Ukraine, Venezuela etc.

Make no mistake, western imperialists want to destroy Nigeria as state and they do have some Nigerian accomplices in the media, among the policians both in PDP and APC as well as in the military
Conspiracy theorist, it cannot take Western Media to tell Nigerians on ground that Boko Haram has gained territory in those areas of Nigeria you mentioned. Nigeria media are not made of fools. Westerners did not ask Sani Yerima and Co. in far north to embrace sharia criminal codes in the north, after which Boko emerged and said it is also fighting for sharia country. Westerners did not ask too many Boko sympathizer insiders to repeatedly sabotage Nigeria's millitary operations, acts that led to killing of Nigerian soldiers: the reason why many soldiers dread engaging Boko Haram. The worst fight for a soldier is that fight in which his colleague can turn to an enemy anytime. Plain Truth is: belief by most people in far north section of Nigeria in old religious practices is why Boko Haram reigns, not Westerners wanting to divide Nigeria. In fact, Westerners benefit more from one Nigeria in chaos than from Nigeria divided, figure it out - if you can. Above all, if Westerners want to divide Nigeria, it can only take them a very short time to divide Nigeria. So pls away with Western conspiracy theory, a northern Nigeria group driven by religious zealotry and which wants apex political power by any means caused the present chaos in Nigeria, count Westerners out of it.

North brought this calamity to ittself. Go home Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Bini, etc. From north. North has finished itself. All some northern leaders now want is Aso Rock to proclaim Nigeria an Islamic country. Guess why a whole Nigerian Army have been unsuccessful to drive off Boko Haram. Insider sabotage

Boko Haram started after leaders of 12 northern states introduced sharia criminal codes in 2002, and set up a committee to extend sharia to other states not yet adopting sharia then. Boko Haram sprang up after the committee and declared that it is fighting for a sharia-friendly country. Lok o, if those who introduced sharia criminal codes in far north no longer accept that their acts raised Boko Haram, soon they may tell us that Boko Haram leader SHEKAU AND HIS SHARIA FIGHTES ARE IGBOS OR YORUBAS OR BINI OR IJAW OR EFIK.

So na whiteman Davies shall now come from Australia to tell us the genesis and funders of Boko Haram? Nonesense. Even the link of Ihejirika with Islamists is ridiculous. What does he gan from aiding Boko Haram who has been bombing his brethren? Northern governors adopted sharia rule. Boko Haram emerged and said it is fighting for sharia. Most of those northern governors that introduced sharia are now in APC. Whither APC vindication?

What is the point killing people to preserve one Nigeria that benefits less than 1% of the Nigerian population when splitting the country MUST SURELY SAVE MORE LIVES?

PoliticsRe: What Manner Of An Opposition Party Is APC? by hansad: 12:53pm On Sep 02, 2014
egift: APC is a breath of fresh air to the corrupt ridden PDP that has spent 15 years in making Nigeria a giant crawling on it stomach. APC is a viable alternative to PDP. Never in this democratic dispensation have we ever had an alternative that defeat the monster called PDP.

By voting in APC and voting out PDP, Nigerians will achieve 4 things in our Political Space:
1. That the Masses are the Boss. While our politicians are the servants.
2. It will mean the APC will not repeat the callous and nonchalant leadership dispositions that PDP have been dishing out for the last 15 years.
3. PDP will have the opportunity to go back to the drawing board to prioritize what is paramount to them (protect criminals or serve the masses).
4. And since PDP know how to steal, they will better police the FG under APC by exposing any imaginable malpractice even before Nigerians can find out.

So any Patriotic Nigerian will see that it is for the best interest of Nigeria to vote out PDP and elect APC come 2015. This nation will triumph again.
But you cooly forgot that Nigeria was already made a crawling giant by Born To Rule before PDP came in, talkless GEJ of yesterday. Since APC accepted the newPDP members to its fold, APC lost its voice as a credible alternative to PDP.

If some of these above are my rights and that's why he was voted into power "GEJ" - and he cannot provide security, his a failure and if driving away insurgents is not my right to security- me I don't know why GEJ is still in power, I MUST STATE IT - ITS MY RIGHT TO BE SECURE-

Note that GEJ swore to protect you and all of us from invaders bearing in mind that Nigeria's instrument of coercion - the armed forces - shall provide the firing power to do the defence job. But when the armed forces is divided due to religious loyalty, as is the case now, do you expect GEJ to defend us and Nigeria's integrity with his bare hands? Or why has Nigeria army been unable to defeat Boko Haram since? Celebrating APC victory in any event is like celebrating the prospects of entire Nigeria ruled by Islamic Sharia laws - taking every group in Nigeria back to stone age. Not mincing words, APC's known goal is to return apex political power in Nigeria to far north Muslims. But far north Muslim leaders adopted use of sharia criminal codes to rule 12 sates in far north Nigeria. Boko Haram thereafter declared it is fighting for a sharia-ruled country. Since then, Nigeria has lost a fortune fightng Boko Haram. Some moderate Mslims do not like B/Haram's violent method, but if Boko Haram wins its fight for a sharia county, Muslims shall gladly embrace the victory. Proponents of sharia rule in Nigeria do not intend it for only Muslims. They have the intention of Islamic Republic of Nigeria. For example, for sharia-rule sake in some far north areas, state govt officials enter private property of non-Muslims, confiscate and destroy alcoholic products in the open. Is that sharia for only Muslims?

He must have based his assertion from the beleif of the el Rufais of north that Ihejirika army was high handed against suspected terrorists, hence sympathisers joined Boko Haram. But since Ihejirika left, terorists have had a field day, and even hoisting the Boko Haram flag on part of Nigeria. Who is fooling who? Who is ever going to stop religious extremism from north? Nigeria people hardly tell the truth, even to themselves. That's why B/Haram problem persists. Many Nigerians pretend not to know that divided loyalty to religions make Nigeria army unable to defeat B/Haram. Northern Nigeria drew the borders of its Arewa country in the 12 far north states with sharia criminal codes, but, still sticks to and fights for Nigeria because of crude oil and access to ocean waterways. But the rest of Nigeria refuses to accept reality that north wants to practice its religion the way it wants it in a religious country. Fighting Boko Haram instead of granting north its Arewa country which it indirectly asked for: Nigeria may have to do the fight against B/Haram till end of time unless Nigerians concede Aso Rock to sympathisers of B/Haram in politics.

Mbediogu: I honestly would not blame Mr. President here. If the military high command and service chiefs who have all it takes experientially have found themselves incapable; why talk about the President who has no military background? Giving a dog a bad name to hang it? It is obvious that the insurgents enjoy a lot of support in the areas where they operate. Mr. Preident has done the diplomatic sub-work by involving our Ecowas neighbors. Although this is not time to trade blames, it is also not time to pass the buck. Clearly, the problem as I see it rests on the military high command and our brothers from the North especially the elite politicians from there. We must remove Mr. President from blames in this matter. I am aware he asked for extra budgetary monies for the military in that regard but NAS turned him down. The option now is for the military to make best use of what is on the ground. The President has his blames in other areas, not here.
Finally, I want to say that as long as we keep trivializing such grave issue thro our half hearted non committed actions that are watered down by politicization, corruption and tribalism, Boko Haram will always prevail and our fortunes as a nation will continue to dip. Let us wake up as one to this call.
They want Aso Rock, not your common sense talk. They know that with a divided military with divided loyalty, the president has little or no chance, no power and even morality to fight the insurgents. Many may not even believe that B/Haram and its sympathisers are capable of gaining Aso Rock either by bullets or by ballots.

soroptimist: I thought you did Computer Engineering at OAU.......Why are you inputting Philosophy of Logic in your summation? May be you often go to Amphiteatre to listen to Jingo's lecture

The fact about leadership is that if the Leader( Jonathan in this case) is bereft of the simplest of critical thinking skills, then he will be susceptible to the foibles and machinations of his lieutenants or advisers and this is the greatest sin of GEJ

That is why despite the fact that you his admirers are always at loss for the mounting criticism hurled at him irrespective of his 'good nature' and the fact that he may mean well, yet he doesn't come across as very sound and smart

If the Generals kept telling you all is well despite the huge budgetary allocations without any concormitant success,a good leader will find a way to create a secondary channel of getting feedback from the populace, soldiers, workers, artisans about the effect of your policies on them and not rely entirely on praise-singers,hangers-on,party-faithfuls,godfathers because one should be 70% sure they are not going to tell you the truth may be out of fear or sycophancy

Hence a leader who blinds himself to reality by not double-checking whatever his aides and allies tell him, should be ready for the backlash when push come sto shove

Hence if all of GEJ leadership strategy could be attributed to the advise he gets from people like Tony Anenih,Chief Edwin Clark,LIEbaran Maku,Doyin Oku-igbe,Rhinoceros O'mockery with support from FFK and Asari Dokubo on the sides then be sure he will ab initio be setting himself up for monumental failure even if he means well
You forgot to add that GEJ is Nigeria's number one enemy, while B/Haram with its sponsors and millions of Nigerian sympathisers are Nigeria's number one friends. For your lot who want Aso Rock by any means on or before May 29, 2015, any body that does not say things to stampede Jonah out of Aso Rock is clueless. Go ahead, entertain your self with your entry where you inflate your self-worth. tit: A similar scenario happened in Iraq.
Sunni officers simply told the units under their commands to disband. The man abandoned their equipment (which ISIS is showing off and using till day) and tried to melt into the general population.

We have seen videos of hundreds at a military school who surrendered without lifting a finger before they were machine gunned in a ditch.
Sabotage from divided loyalty on the part of some Nigerians is why Nigeria Army has not defeated B/Haram. Only Islamists and ignoramuses in Nigeria respectively dispute or do not know it. These groups blame Jonathan as they hide under tthe mantra that the buck stops on the president's table. But the president swore to protect Nigerians and the country's integrity knowing full well that the country's instruments of coercion - military and police - must remain loyal to the country to help him maintain what he swore to. But with divided loyalty, as is the case now where milliions of people from a section of Nigeria want an Islamic sharia-governed country, that makes a nonesense of the oath the president swore to protect Nigerians and the country's integrity. Nigerian soldiers desert because of divided loyalty resulting to high scale sabotage from Nigerians.

Evidence that Nigerian troops are being continually sabotaged by insiders? All your lot want is collect Aso Rock to impose your Islamic Caliphate solution on Nigeria, if not, the records of evidences that Nigeria soldiers are being sabotaged and killed are there all over the media. Search for the records. Do not expect the shoeless Jonathan to do miracles. RELIGION IS OPIUM FOR THE MASSES. For nearly a decade, the US Army trained Iraqi Army and lefft. It took a few days of fighting by your Islamic fighter colleagues to scatter Iraqi Army, because of divided loyalty to religious belief. Instead of blaming the shoeless president over a war your colleagues started before the shoeless man became president, join your part of Nigeria to the impending new Sokoto Caliphate and let others refusing to be part of the caliphate out of Nigeria.
