I posted this yesterday on Educational section but i didn't get any response, that shows we don't follow procedures hence i'm posting it here again today. Iam having a meeting with Commissioners next week can someone please tell/teach me how to address them like greeting, conversation, salutation e.t.c. I dont want to make mistake. Thanks

From observation, yes the women in that culture are very much oppressed & they're expected to endure a lot. They often suffer in silence because I guess, noone wants to take a stand. The families gloss over any type of abuse. If you dare stand up for yourself, then you're labelled as all sorts of things. One example is a neighbour of mine from about 8 years ago. They're both from Phoenix but the hubby was transferred this side emsebenzini. Me & the girl got pretty close to the point where she started sharing her problems with me. Her husband was abusing her & her parents pushed her to stay in the marriage because of the kids. One time she told me of an incident that happened while she was serving him breakfast. She said she warmed him some leftovers in the microwave, but apparently it was hot to his liking so he threw a fork at her. It hit her right under the eye. Anyway, there were many such stories in the duration of our friendship that i got tired of it at some point lol. They're still together, btw

In the Indian culture, I find that the older women oppress the younger ones. I remember one story on Crime & Investigation Channel. The mother inlaw ordered the death of her daughter inlaw because she wanted to divorce her son for being abusive to her. They called her a wh*re, took her on a trip to India & she was never seen again. The other daughter inlaw told the police that her mother inlaw was threatening her & during one of her rants she told her that if she doesn't straighten out, she'll end up at the bottom of the river like the other daughter inlaw. That's how the mother & her sons were arrested. The girl's body was never found.

Yes , unfortunately they do. But one thing I noticed about their culture is that they tend to be oppressive to the girl child I know no culture is immune from this but I think theirs is on another level, and funny enough it's usually the women who do the oppressing. I met an Indian friend of mine during school days, that side . Yey! Her life was already mapped out. she felt lucky she was sent to study further , before marriage. But wait for it ; she had to study the course that "Rajesh"( the guy she was to marry when she reached 21 ) was comfortable with . She is not allowed to have a career that's better than his or earns her something closer to his salary. She already knew the date , the venue of the wedding even though it was to take place in like 2 years to come. Hay!. I like the Indians that have been shunned by their families lol, they tend to be fun and vocal about the crap they had to endure . They don't care about having docile " Priya " .

I 've spent all my life defending Buhari but now i see what Ohaneze Ndigbo is talking about. Buhari has chosen to put all those retired Military officers that fought war in 1963 at the helm of affair, what seems to me like puting round peg on square hole hence things are no longer going smooth. This is my personal encounter a retired Military officer as Ambassador representing Nigeria in one African country creating chaos instead of helping Nigerians in that country and no one dares talk else you face his wrath. This is completely unfair.

Just curious if you find yourself travelling and lost your passport on transit in between 2 foreign countries, let's say you have copy of your passport and visa. Can you make police report and continue the journey, or you must go back home and plan another journey?.

Attempted suicide bt failed ever since i 've been praying for natural death still can't get it. i don't wanna be here but can't do it myself. Reason i was unlawfully detained in South Africa all my properties taken deported to another country no one to help even my own government can not help me. No justice here on earth! I just wanted to know what my offence(s) are!

I said i have permit, i'm a legal migrant but i was sent to prison unlawfully my passport taken in South Africa i have copy of my permit now, the permit is valid till 2020. I wasn't taken to any court. My questions: do i hv a strong case here, where is the best place to make claims in court or out of court. (Nigerian High Commision)? I know all the dates, the police station and the prison, i was charged with ''Ilegal immigrant''. I was expecting some questions after that you tell me if i have case or not but no one is doing that, why will i come here to seek advice if i know what to do?.

So if you specify the country then you have a better chance of getting someone who can advise. 2ndly a lawyer in that country is likely to be more knowledgeable about the laws of that country. You get my drift?

Iam a legal migrant with my valid work permit expiry date may 2020, i still have the copy with me but i was arrested by their immigration officials they took my passport and charge me illegal immigrant, i was detained for 5 months and released i want to claim damage for detaining me unlawfully, or seek out of court settlement through Nigerian High Commision in that country what is/are your (lawyers)'s advice here?.

I'm surpose to consult a lawyer but please i dont have money now hence i'm begging lawyers on this forum to please help me. I have a case but i need proper guild i 'll be going to face the case any time soon.
