Cecile Ngumbo a house help in Kenya, has been charged to court after she was caught on camera assaulting and feeding her employer’s 15-month-old baby with vomit.

The incident occurred at Ngara estate in Nairobi on March 14.

Ngumbo’s employer had installed CCTV cameras to watch the house and she was shocked when she saw Ngumbo mistreating the baby.


Ngumbo was seen feeding the baby on vomit, kicking and punching her according to Police records.

When Ngumbo’s boss confronted her, she denied the accusations. So the mother of the baby reported the matter to the police, who arrested the house girl.


Ngumbo denied the charges. She pleaded that she was the sole breadwinner for her three children and asked the court for mercy.

The matter will be mentioned on April 4.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described President Muhammadu Buhari's statement asking security to go after critics of his government's cluelessness as last desperate attempt by a failed government to silence Nigerians, adding that "in a democracy, it is the rights of the people to express their views freely and President Buhari must accept that and live with it."

He said Nigerians will resist any attempt by the President to hide under the "arranged abduction and release of the Dapchi girls" to achieve his dictatorial aim of further clampdown on those speaking out against his failed government.

In a release issued on Saturday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said it was strange that the President who should be asking questions as to why military checkpoints in Dapchi and other surrounding towns were removed to pave way for the abduction of the girls was threatening Nigerians who are merely asking to be freed from a clueless government of one week, one drama.

Governor Fayose said: "President Buhari needs to be told that no one is politicising abduction and release of the Dapchi school girls. Rather, it is the federal government that is playing drama and did not come out clean on the abduction and release of the girls."

"In a democracy, the people are entitled to their views and can’t be silenced in their own land, particularly when the President has failed to protect Nigerians who are daily being killed, especially by herdsmen.l and Boko Haram terrorists.

"It is the rights of the citizens to call governments to order when they fail to live up to their responsibility.

"The President and his men must also be told that even in military era, except under Buhari who introduced Decree 2, it did not get worse than this and Nigerians won't allow their voice to be muzzled by a government that has failed them.

"That President Buhari and his men are afraid of Nigerians to the extent that they are even fighting tooth and nail against amendment of election sequence is a sign of government that has failled and afraid to lose election in 2019.

"Therefore, the silence of Nigerians must not be interpreted as endorsement of animalistic killings and nepotism flourishing under this government of President Buhari, but a grave yard silence that will result to electoral failure next year.

"For every beginning, there must be an end. Buhari won't be a life President and the end of his directionless government will come in 2019."

Nigerian superstar singer Wizkid has revealed that his parents found out about his 3rd son with manager Jada Pollock on social media.

In an interview with Beat FM, the singer was asked how he tells his parents he is having a kid out of wedlock to which he replied;

“The crazy thing is this last one. My parents just kinda found out online’.

My Mom just wants me to get married, stay with one woman and have babies but I’m 27 years old.”

What started as a day of joy for a newlywed couple in Lagos on Sunday ended in disaster after their car tumbled on their way back from church, leaving a groomsman dead.

According to reports from a witness, the couple’s car somersaulted three times around Jakande, on the Lekki-Epe Expressway on Sunday afternoon after it lost control.

The incident reportedly left the groom wailing loudly while his bride rolled on the hot tarmac with her wedding gown.

A suspected thief also reportedly tried to take advantage of the situation to steal a purse from the blood-soaked Toyota Sienna vehicle.

Former Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, visited former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala at her home.

According to the US-based pastor, the visit afforded both the opportunity to exchange copies of their books.

Nigeria is also seventh in Africa in the March FIFA/Coca Cola World rankings.

Nigeria had 609 points, two points below Cameroon that is 51st in the world.

The top five remains, with Germany still on top, while Poland that will be up against the Super Eagles in a friendly are the only movers in the top 20, having climbed into joint-sixth position alongside Spain.

The Lagos State Government has explained the cause of the fire which emitted thick smokes from the Olososun dumpsite on Wednesday as the natural outcome of trapped gasses from the waste escaping to cause combustion, a situation which occurs occasionally in dumpsites.

The State Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti, who gave the explanation while speaking on the incident at Alausa, stated that waste in dumpsites naturally emits certain gasses that are occasionally released to cause combustion such as the one witnessed in Olososun dumpsite.

He said that the State Government had responded swiftly to the situation by activating its emergency response units including Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and Lagos State Fire Service with support from Julius Berger to promptly put out the fire.

While urging Lagosians not to panic as the situation is under control, he informed that “Subsequently, the Olusosun dump site has been closed down for the main time, while operators are urged to make use of Epe Landfill and other dumpsites in the State”.

Durosinmi-Etti recalled that the Lagos State Government had said repeatedly that the existing dumpsites at Olusosun Ojota, Solous Igando and Ewu Elepe were not sustainable and had mapped out plans for their phased closure and had concessioned the construction of Sanitary landfill in Epe and Transfer Loading Stations in different parts of the State.

According to him, the government has also earmarked other landfills for construction in Ikorodu and Badagry as an integral part of the infrastructure development component of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative which is the sustainable model for Solid Waste Management.

The Commissioner stressed that the administration of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode in Lagos State had been proactive enough by identifying the gaps in the waste management system and envisioning the Cleaner Lagos Initiative as the sustainable system of managing our waste as well as passing the Environmental Management and Protection Law 2017.

The Lagos State Government has debunked rumours of increase in the cost of processing motor vehicle particulars and application for number plates, saying the rates remain the same across the State.

Anyone with evidence of any increase in motor registration rates from any of the official centres managed by the Lagos State Motor Vehicle Administration Authority (MVAA) should report to the agency or the Ministry of Transportation.

Gov Ambode said his administration was very sensitive to the people, and would not go all out to deliberately overburden them.
