The Lagos state governor, Dr Akinwunmi Ambode, today presented the 2018 Budget today at the Chambers of the Lagos State House of Assembly. The proposed budget christened ‘Budget of Progress and Development’ has a size of N1, 046,121,181,680 (N1, 046tn).

Some locals in the South-eastern part of the country could not contain their excitement after catching a big crocodile which was publicly displayed.

This big crocodile was reportedly trapped at Ota-mmiri river in Ihiagwa, Owerri west. LGA Imo State. Some residents who spotted the dangerous reptile swung into action by killing it and also displaying it for public view.


There is a huge demand for reptiles in Nigeria in recent times as they have been described as highly delicious if well prepared.

Today at a press briefing, the Lagos State Police commisioner, Edgal Imohimi declared Burna Boy wanted and publicly called on him to report to the Police Station for questioning in connection with the robbery attack of fellow singer, Mr 2kay at Eko Hotel.



According to the Police commisioner, '4 armed robbers carried out the attack and detectives were able to arrest one of their girlfriends who is identidied as 'Matejero' which led to the capture of the others. During interogation, the robbers confessed that they were hired by Burna Boy through his manager, Joel Kantiock who was arrested in Zaria, Kaduna State'.



The CP went on to say that 'they confessed to receiving a part payment of 50,000 naira before the job and another 50,000 was paid to the robbers directly by Burna Boy when the job was done. At the moment, efforts to apprehend Burna Boy is proving futile but we count on him to make himself available for questioning immediately'.

The Federal Government has filed six counts against the embattled former Chairman of the Pension Reforms Commission, Abdulrasheed Maina.

The charges, filed before a Chief Magistrates’ Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, formed the basis on which the court issued a fresh warrant for the arrest of Maina, who is currently on the run.

The warrant of arrest was signed by the Chief Magistrate, Elizabeth Jones.

The charges are:

1. “theft of public money, obtained (sic) money under false pretences,

2. breach of trust,

3. cheating,


4. official corruption,

5. embezzlement of pension money,

6. fraud, etc.”

The chief magistrate ordered “all police officers and the EFCC personnel” to execute the warrant issued against Maina.

“You are hereby directed to arrest the said A.A. Maina,” the warrant of arrest read.

Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh, recently disclosed that Nigeria will begin to export Yam to other parts of the world beginning from today June 29th. According to Ogbeh, this will serve as possible means of economic diversification and also as a way of generating foreign exchange.

PHOTOS: Sheep Gives Birth To Severely Deformed Lamb That Looks Like A Human Being


The Eastern Cape Department of Rural Development and Agrarian Reform, South Africa has confirmed that photos of a severely deformed lamb circulating on social media are no hoax.

It confirmed the authenticity of the pictures saying it was of a deformed stillborn lamb was born in the Lady Frere area.


Dr Lubabalo Mrwebi, the department’s Chief Director of Veterinary Services said it was not uncommon for pregnant animals to be infected by viruses early in their pregnancy.

“We call on the local community not to panic over this deformed lamb. We can confirm that this deformed lamb is not a progeny of sheep ovum and a human sperm.

“Virus infections in early stages of pregnancy may infect the foetus and lead to the development of malformations in the growing foetus. It is likely that this is what happened to the Lady Frere sheep‚” Mrwebi said.
“The gestation period for a sheep is five months. This means that this particular sheep conceived in late December 2016 or early January 2017‚ which was warm with plentiful rainfall in the Chris Hani district‚ conditions which are favourable to the proliferation of mosquitoes and midges known to be the vectors of viruses that cause such diseases such as the Rift Valley Fever (RVF).”

He said it was “fair to assume” the animal was infected by the RFV virus.
“The resultant circulation of the virus in the blood found its way through the maternal blood into the uterus and the foetus‚ which was at a very critical stage of development‚” Mrwebi said.
“The infected foetus then‚ as a result‚ failed to form properly‚ leading to the deformity that it became.”

The deformities include: – a deformed head due to abnormal accumulation of fluid in the brain cavity; – a smaller brain than normal; and – an underdeveloped lower jaw.

“The department’s veterinary officials will conduct a postmortem on this deformed lamb and its results will be communicated to the public by the department once complete‚” Mrwebi said.

“The lesson we are learning from this experience is that small stock farmers must keep their animals protected against diseases like the Rift Valley Fever with a correct vaccine‚ which is best given long before the mating season so that by the time the females get pregnant they are already protected against this disease.”
Mrwebi said the department’s officials were “enlightening” livestock farmers about the incident.
