It has come to the notice of the Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State that some unscrupulous elements have been going about deceiving members of the public that the Institution has released the 2018/2019 cut-off mark.

The Management is using this medium to inform members of the public that the Institution is yet to release any cut-off mark for the 2018/2019 Academic Session.

However, members of the public are advised to check the Guardian and Nigerian Tribune Newspapers on Wednesday, 13th June, 2018 for the Institution’s Advertisement for the year 2018/2019 Admission Exercise.

Truth behind NYSC 2018 Batch A Female Kwara Corp Member Amadi's death

My attention has been drawn to online publication of a passed way Corper at yikpata NYSC orientation camp, Kwara state, Nigeria

I want to seize this opportunity to explain what really transpired before the lady's death and dispel some false claims claimed by some reporters without in dept research that led to her death which only exist as a figment of imagination of the enemies of progress.

Corper Eva Amadi with state code number KW/18A/0135 reported to yikpata NYSC orientation camp, edu local government, Kwara state on the said date by the NYSC authority with documents that proved her medical fitness from a state hospital without any indication that she's suffering from 'Seizure' or any case related to illnesses in her body system.
On 24th April, 2018 Amadi was rushed to the camp clinic as a result of kneel fraction she sustained (not dislocation) during Man 'O' war challenge practice other known as 'Tug of war' for the camp forthcoming ceremony.
After awhile, she responded to treatments and played with friends before the next day she felled down when she decided to 'take a work' with friends. She was rushed immediately with oxygen in the camp ambulance to nearby hospital called Share General hospital (20 minute drive from orientation camp, not two (2) hours claimed in reports before she effectually gave up after some minutes she arrived at the hospital during treatments.
Sequel to the reports that says the camp clinic delayed her treatments due to unavailability of medicines/ shortage of experts to guarantee lives, "we are bold to say that we have more than enough professionals staff in the camp clinic to save and secure lives". "We love her as we loved others and we are not happy about her incident", head of clinic clarified me.
The head of clinic head added and described her death as 'accidental' to the fraction she sustained in camp and buttresses that " her death is so painful and sorrowful seeing this horrible death of our corper "....( she busted to tears and failed to continue the interview.
While speaking with some corpers in the orientation camp in other to actualise facts, check and balance, we were made to realised that the clinic staff tried their best inline with their responsibilities to save her life but God took her life instead which is so so painful and a sign of bad omen for us in this state." We pray such won't happen again and safe trip to our various homes after camping and service", she submitted.

The ongoing online posts that says the lady died as a result of poor facilities and drugs lacks credibility, fairness and balance in journalism ethics.
I want to utilise this opportunity to urge our dear prospective corpers out there to please endeavour to under genuine medical and test so as to help and protect them ahead unforeseen contingencies.
We regret the lost and pray for almighty to console her parents and grant her peace.

It is no more news that the much awaited JAMB Mock exam for 2018 UTME candidates will finally hold on Monday February 26th, 2018.

If you are among those that will be writing the exam, please do take it serious as you may likely pick one or two things that will help you in the main examination.

Also do not forget that other candidates that won't be partcipating in the exam will depend on you for updates and relevant information concerning the conduct of the mock exam. So please take note of everything that is happening in your centre and keep us updated.

We will create a LIVE UPDATES thread on that day, so you can let us know anything that is happening before the Mock exam begins or if there are any delays in the process.

While in the hall, please take note of everything but most importantly;

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB 2018: How To Know Your 2018 JAMB Mock Exam Venue & Time

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is expected to notify candidates about their mock exam venue and time any moment from now considering the fact that the mock exam will be holding in few days.

All candidates who are qualified to participate in the mock exam are expected to receive their mock exam schedule via their email addresses as well as text messages to the Phone numbers they provided during UTME registration as earlier announced by JAMB.

In the light of this, we advise all those who indicated interest to write the Mock Exam to please check their emails regularly in order to know when their mock exam venue and time have been sent to them. Please ensure you check both your inbox and SPAM folder as the message may be delivered in your SPAM folder instead of the inbox.

Once you receive such notification, please do not fail to let us know so other candidates can be informed as well.

Meanwhile, we expect JAMB to also provide information on how candidates can print their mock exam slip from the official portal for the benefit of those who may be unable to get theirs via emails/text messages. Once that information becomes available, we will let you know.

2018: How To Check If You Are Eligible For 2018 JAMB Mock Examination

Since the publication of the Mock examination date, many candidates have been asking how they would know if they are to partake in the mock examination. Some are even asking how they would register for the mock examination.

I will take a little time to explain that so it will be clear to you. There are two ways to know if you are qualified for the JAMB Mock examination.

1. If you indicated interest to partake in the mock examination during UTME Registration: To qualify for the mock examination, candidates must have indicated interest on that during the UTME registration. If you did not indicate interest to partake in the mock examination while you were registering for 2018 UTME, it means you are not qualified to partake in the mock examination.

2. If you are able to print your JAMB Mock exam slip or if JAMB sends you mock exam schedule: JAMB will soon notify candidates about their mock exam venue and time via emails or Phone numbers or ask candidates to visit the portal and print out their mock exam slip. So if you happen not to receive any mock exam schedule notification from JAMB or if you are not able to print your mock exam schedule when it is time for that, you are simply NOT qualified to partake in the mock exam.

Please note that the official date for printing of mock exam schedule has not been announced and JAMB has not started sending mock exam schedule to candidates. We will inform you when that begins.

I believe with this clarification it won’t be hard for you to figure out if you are eligible for the mock exam or not.

The 2018/2019 JAMB UTME registration was supposed to be closed on Tuesday 6th of February, but was postponed till 11th. So many candidates who may have made some spelling errors, date of birth, local government origin or subject combination error during the registration, are hereby told to relax as it is not going to affect your result neither your admission, if you make a high score in JAMB and then later proceed to change.

The best news is that you can now do change or correction of your name spelling or position, using the JAMB Short Code (55019).

Please note that this change can only be done using the mobile number used to create the profile.

NOTE: If candidate has been Thumb-printed already, You would have to proceed to the bank to pay a fee of 2500 to JAMB, with a generated remita (RRR) code from the registration center for Data correction. Correction can only be done once using the JAMB registration platform any registration center.

NOTE: Do not pay any money to any stranger who claims to be an agent or JAMB co-ordinator, as you might be deceived and may be disqualified for malpractice.

Time Analysis

JAMB QUESTIONS = 180 I.e Uses of English 60, 2nd Subject 40, 3rd subject 40, 4th subjects 40.

TIME=2hrs

2hrs is equivalent to 120 Minutes or 7200 Seconds

Now, 7200 Seconds ÷ 180 Questions = 40 Seconds

For an optimum usefulness of time, I will implore you not to use more than 40 seconds on a single question. Always base your plan on 40 Seconds or Less. You may get your self prepared Using Examrelief CBT Practice Centre to see how fast you are, if you can answer all the questions before the time elapses. You have spent 30sec question.
You can use this format below

ENGLISH = 60 Questions = 39 mins
2nd Subject = 40 Questions = 27 mins
3rd Subject = 40 Questions = 27 mins

TOTAL of 120 mins=2 hrs

Welcome, today i will be revealing the possible solutions to SMS sending failure why trying to send JAMB profile details.

SMS Sending Failure: Jamb has made the creation of profile easier and attractive for Jamb 2018 registration. You can just send your details to 55019 and your profile is ready.

However, so many candidates have encountered SMS sending failure while trying to create Jamb profile using SMS.
This could be as a result of different factors. I shall now discuss the causes and solutions to SMS sending failure while creating Jamb profile with your phone.
Causes of Jamb Profile SMS Sending Failure

1. Insufficient Airtime
2. Your Sim Is New
3. You are using Airtel or Etisalat
4. Your sim cannot send message.

1. Insufficient Airtime:
To be able to create Jamb profile for your 2018 examination via the SMS method, you need to have at least #50 in your sim card.
Personally, I will advice that you recharge #100 credit on your phone before going ahead to create your Jamb profile using your phone. Just make sure that you have enough airtime.

2. Your Sim Card Is New:
So many persons using new sim has reported the issue of SMS sending to create Jamb profile.
If you have enough airtime but still facing this issue, you may want to try creating your profile using your old or main line.

Ensure not to use someone else’s sim to create your profile. It is very risky to do that.

You are using Airtel or Etisalat:
Many who have successfully created their profile by sending SMS in Examrelief Jamb WhatsApp group reported that they had issues while using Airtel and Etisalat. They had to try out MTN and Glo Sim card.

Now, if your line is not new and you have enough airtime but still having issues, you may want to give MTN & Glo line a try. Non MTN user has reported this issue for far.

4. Your Sim Card cannot send message:
Due to error in your message centre number and other configuration issues, you may not be able to send messages with your phone. If this is your case, quickly contact your customer care line to help you fix the issue.

The Gospel Truth: There Is A Certain Number Of Students To Be Considered For Admission At Each Department And Admission Will Be Given Base On Highest Score.

The truth is that you should be able to determine yourself and go for what you can do best. If you are living another person’s dream, you are living to fail.

You can still avoid this by still read hard even though you picked the wrong course or obtain JAMB Change of Course And Institution immediately it’s been released…

2. Procrastination
Procrastination is a poison of the mind that kills hard-work and dreams. Some people are still saying Its a month or two to jamb Examinations, therefore they still have-time To prepare. I reserve my pity for such people as failure is sure for them.

There is a saying that goes like this “Everyday spent procrastinating is another day spent worrying about that thing, Do it now and move on with your life”

Procrastination eventually results in sorrowful regrets.

3. Not Making Use Of Jamb Syllabus

My friend is a very brilliant guy who applied for Geology which the Cut-Off mark was 200 at FUTA, he wrote JAMB and scored 256 and sat for the post-UTME and score the second overall highest mark then.

At the time for admission 1st and 2nd list were released and he was not offered admission. He went to the school management to lodge his complaint, that was when he was told he wrote Biology instead of Mathematics in JAMB that is why they can’t give him geology at FUTA.

6. Setting Low Scores As Your Target
Set high scores like scoring 280+ and above in JAMB, don’t go below that, If you set scores like 200 or 220; you won’t have the motive and zeal to read, it means you either lazy or not serious with coming out in flying colors in JAMB. Bet me scoring below 220, 230 does not guarantee you admission in any top university in Nigeria but scoring 280 and above guarantees you admission in any top university in Nigeria even though you wouldn’t necessary be given the course you applied for.

Never aim for the sky but aim for the moon, So even though you fall; you will land on the sky.

Only 24 candidates from Zamfara state passed the 2017 November/December Senior School Certificate Examination of the National Examinations Council (NECO).

The examination was reportedly taken by 186 candidates in Zamfara.

According to PUNCH, Charles Uwakwe, NECO registrar, disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists at the council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger state.

“For candidates’ general performance by states, Ogun state has the best result as 4,766 students out of the 5,213 that sat for the exam obtained five credits and above in all subjects, representing 91.42 per cent,” he said.

“Zamfara State records the worst result; only 24 out of the 186 candidates obtained five credits and above, representing 12.90 per cent.”

He said out of the 42,429 candidates that sat for the examination, only 24,098 which represents 56.79 per cent got five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.

Uwakwe said a further breakdown shows that of the 41,429 that sat for English Language, 70.62 per cent (29,258) got credit pass, while 78.82 per cent of the 41,485 (32,701) that sat for Mathematics had the same grade.

Step By Step Procedure On How To Register for 2018 JAMB UTME Examination.

JAMB 2018 registration has started and will end on the 6th of February, 2018. This post is for candidates that have not yet apply or are finding it hard to understand how to register for JAMB 2018.

Below are the steps you need to follow in order to register for JAMB 2018.

STEP 1;
The first thing you will do, is to create a confirmation code with your phone, by sending your “Surname Firstname Othername” to 55019. They will charge you #50 for the SMS.

After you’ve done that, you will receive a confirmation code from JAMB.

STEP 2;
Then, you will go to the bank (UBA , Firstbank, Union bank etc) to purchase the JAMB E-pin. When you get to the bank, ask for instruction from any of the bank staffs you see. You will be asked to provide the confirmation code which JAMB sent to your phone, they will need it in order to generate your E-pin.

STEP 3;
Now that you have purchased the JAMB E-pin, you can now go to any JAMB CBT registered centre you know. You will be asked to provide your o’level result, JAMB E-pin, your confirmation code, and your passport ( they might use the laptop to snap you).

STEP 4;
After you have successfully registered for the JAMB 2019, you will be given a print out of the JAMB registration and also the compulsory storybook.

The breakdown;
JAMB E-pin + storybook =#5000 + #500 ( to be paid together in the bank) CBT registration fee= #700 (to be paid after you have successfully registered for JAMB 2019)

You should also know that the phone number you will use for recieving the confirmation code must not have been used previous;y for that purpose.
