Thanks alot bro. I tried the webform already, even though i wasn't sure of the processing office, but i put lagos,Nigeria anyway.
If you know where exactly, kindly let me know.

However, the form is not submitting, i clicked the "next" icon, but it won't even try to load and they said we should not submit more than once, me i have clicked 3times sef, but it didn't show success or anything close to that. Could it be the network or something?

Who has done the webform kini before? kindly assist.

Thanks

Phocusjosh:
Inasmuch your application has passed the normal processing times of 9 weeks you can contact them using the webform. Don't sound desperate, just remind them when you submitted and ask them if there is update. It shall end in praise

Congrats to everyone with approvals already. May God guide your steps.

Seeing what some of ya'all submitted is alone to scare somebody sef, but God dey grin

Meanwhile, i applied since April 20th and i have not heard pekem from them, and yes! quite a number of people that did after that have gotten feedbacks, even though i understand that application conditions are quite different. However, i would like to contact them to know what's going on or possibly see if that would help to make it faster. How best can i go about that?

Thank you.

I beg to disagree with this. He can still apply again, he has at least 2 full months before school finally resumes, and if you check, rate of application has dropped, even appointment dates at Lagos VFS office are no more as far as they were 2months ago. If he can meet all that is required, why not? Whether he likes it or not, the same challenge would be faced later, so why not now?
Someone here got his TRV in 3weeks too.

Except then again, his mind does not want to go for it anymore, then yea it's fine. No one is getting younger anymore, what if his program is not available for winter intake? He should wait for a year? I hope you get what i'm saying anyway.

Cheers bro
Frankrobbn1:

lummy11,

At this juncture, what will work best is paying up your full tuition and having funds in a dorm account for your first year living expenses, this will go a long run in addressing insufficient available funds.
Also, let your dad state how much he that will be made available for you, per each academic year in his affidavit of sponsorship.
Lastly, I won't advise you to reapply by August against September resumption, taking into account the 9 weeks processing times for Nigerian applicants. Doing so, you're indirectly asking them to refuse your application. What most people don't seem to understand is that, whenever you apply late for study permit, there are high tendency of getting a refusal because you're not giving them enough time to process your study permit application. The ideal time is applying early or at least 3-4 months before school resumption, giving them enough time to process your visa. Therefore, going for winter will help your case.

This is my advise for you!
All the best!

It is well bro. Yes! picking up and moving on is the best thing at this point. We shall get there.

So sad to announce my TRV refusal. I applied Apr 13th and got a refusal June 20th on the ground of 'Purpose of visit'.
However, I have applied for my gcms note for review before reapplying.
Will be grateful if anyone would volunteer to assist review my SOP before reapplying in July.

Turkish airlines has the best price i think. I used the last time i did, they were the cheapest and their services were "good". They do Montreal and Toronto, dont know about other places. Try using an agent too, sometimes, they get extra discount somehow, after i found my flight, i told my friend and she got me extra over 20k discount on the same flight. Small but very significant. Where exactly are you going to?

Lemia:
Hi guys!

To all those who have traveled to Canada or have the knowledge, I have a few enquiries.

1. I would love to get the contact of Olamide or anyone who can help me with securing cheap flights.

2. What advice would you give me as I prepare for my travel so that I have a hitch free settlement in Canada.

Any idea you have is highly welcome.

You you are worried about biometrics update. Me that applied since April 21st, i've not heard shingbain! Very tiring something!

Baba/Mama, enjoy your fingerprints kini message for now and relax. At least you have done it.

Since i did my biometric on the 4th June, my biometric status is yet to be updated online.

I am not sure i saw anything like this.

Ehn! That form imm5753e you have to tick yes or no, print, scan and re-upload.

What did you now upload in the "Request for Medical Exam" slot?

Ha! Me i did not upload anything like this o. My father and my mother!!!

Titaniium:

That form where you tick whether you need to take a medical exam or not. Its part of the CIC documents to be uploaded if applying online

sigh. Okay then. Thanks alot.

mcobex:
Bro it is too late to do upfront medical cos you have submitted your application, all you need do now is wait for cic to request for medical before you can do it.
Upfront medical is done before submission then you will submit the medical receipt with your application. So, you can travel to US then do your medical there when called after which you can run down to naija when cic request for passport
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by harde116: 12:35am On May 28, 2018
Yes i know. i'm asking if it can be done outside Nigeria even though i applied in Nigeria.

Phocusjosh:
if you are called for medical, you are required to undergo the medical examination within 30 days of the date of cic request. Failure to do so may result in the refusal of your immigration application.

All the best.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by harde116: 12:34am On May 28, 2018
Well, i guess i can still do the upfront medical, but i'm sincerely trying to avoid it because i want them to request for it before i do it. But that should be allowed somewhere else even though i am very sure it will be crazily expensive outside Nigeria.

I did not register for courier and i did my biometrics in lagos. So from all indications, i may have to choose which one is more important to me, or i prepare to cut my waka short. This delayed processing is not fair sha tbh!

mcobex:
The mistake you made was not doing upfront medical and also paying for courier service when you went for your biometrics(cos I want to believe you applied via the online route). I think you can still do your medical at any clinic recognized by cic(even in the US) but the main problem will be submitting of passport when its time as you will have to submit it where you did your biometric in person or via courier(that's if you registered for it when applying)

Hi guys, i hail una.

Please who has an idea how this works? I applied for over 5weeks now and till now, i have not heard shingbain from CIC. However, i need to make a travel to the US next month and would be there for a couple of weeks. Now i don't know when i would be contacted as no one is really sure and i cannot be running back if i am not done with what i'm going there to do. If i get contacted while i'm in the US, can i do medicals and also drop passport for stamping while i'm there?

Abi i cannot sha put all my life on hold like because i am waiting for TRV approval, the exact reason i didn't do paper route in the first place.

Please if you know anyone that has done this, kindly advise.

Thanks guys.

All the best!

I honestly don't think the embassy would ask your bank for your your closing balance and even your bank can't release such information. It is believed that with their stamp and signature, you have provided a genuine statement of account. If they doubt the authenticity of the statement, they can ask that you send another one after some time to check if there would be discrepancies. This happened to my friend that applied for PR, because the requirement was a minimum account balance of 12,000dollars.

Plus ya'all need to know that 4months statement basically means they will see all your transactions in the last 4months, that's enough for them to prove if you can afford it even if you choose to withdraw the money after you present the account statment.

There are no hard rules to this, stop thinking like you are the canadian embassy or VO.

Bros, everything is not fight. But be careful to read properly so you don't misinterpret. It was clearly stated that he should confirm the possibility of having it changed while also considering getting a sworn affidavit. This was not supposed to be a case of na my point win or na my point lose.

Just a matter of sharing opinions, both opinions could have been correct. At the end of the day, nobody is fully correct, it's a matter of what you have seen work at some point. Abi you na VO?!

Easy bro...

Cheers

jnyuwa02:

I am glad you took my advice and contacted your school. Where are those critics who said I didn’t school in Nigeria and have no idea? Where are those who said it will take 2-3 years? At a point I just stopped arguing and let them feel like they won. You don’t have to win every argument I have learnt as my rule in life, you can just agree to disagree. It shouldn’t be about outwitting anyone in an argument, it’s about helping I am here.

Well done bro, no guts no glory!! You have done the right thing now and it will avoid any lingering questions in the mind of the VO. If you paid all two years tuition expenses, it’s a good move. Make sure you transfer 10k Dollars into your dormicilaiary account and the tender of SOA business account will fly. Best wishes to you and feel free to ask any questions here you have anytime.

Bro, you sound like you don't understand the Nigerian educational system, i want to believe you didn't school in NIgeria. If it takes an average of 2-3 years(or more) before you can get your certificate from a federal/state university, you think they are so efficient to just make a change for you? Just like that?! You don't think the process would be too long that he won't be able to wait? We all know we have a system that doesn't "really work".

That said, if it is possible, he should go to his school and try, instead of this long thread of argument. If not, Frank's advice is the best option and he should do that now! We all know the earlier the better.

But don't make it appear as though using a sworn affidavit is an impossibility.

Well done sir!

Cheers

jnyuwa02:

We are not merely talking about inconsequential change in names or discrepant names as in birth or marriage certificate. This is a critically important document upon which admission or scholarship decision was made. How did he get admission without dealing with the problem then the VO will be forced to ask. Go and talk to school if you hear me and deal with the root of the problem. Bring your certificate in compliance to your real and correct name used to obtain admission.

Only says, "we are processing your background check" "we will send a message when we start reviewing your eligibility"

It's been that way since i started checking it, i think the only thing that changed would be "biometrics updated"

Prudento:

Have they started ur eligibility review?

Oh! i can't even remember checking that option, but well, there's nothing i can do about it, we wait!

kylexy61:

Hahaha... This really cracked me up. Almost as if CIC knows that you were checking everyday.

Well let me guess. You applied on 22nd April? This is a norm. As long as you have checked the option "I would like to receive monthly updates about my application" in you application profile, you will continue to receive that email every month (until a decision is made on your application).
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by harde116: 4:02am On May 22, 2018
Hehehe, so i used to check my application online everyday to check for progress. So i got busy this last weekend, so i couldn't check it.

Today i got a message saying, "there have been no updates on your application since you last checked".

Please is this a norm or they miss me. LMAO!

It's been a little over 4weeks since i applied tho.

Errrm,

It's been 4weeks since i applied online, and i have not heard pekem. The only thing that changed was "biometrics updated".I understand some people applied way earlier before me and it's the same, some have also gotten updates in less processing time.
I've signed into my CIC account more than i've used google in the last one month.

From experience, what's the likely processing time before one begins to get updates. Basically, this is just to get have another date i'm counting down to.

BTW, i've been to canada, USA, and Turkey and i indicated them, i've been reading several travel history, don't know if this counts cos it appears travel history now delays instead of giving assurance.

Thanks guys, and God's will be done in our lives.

As much as it might not really be a problem. why risk it if you are not sure of the outcome. I bet you wrote in your application that you do something back here and you only want to go to school. Leaving 3months before school is definitely suspicious.

It's not totally hopeless, but why exactly? you sef check am.

I think going in from another country may not be a bad option sha.

Go to VFS first, get there as early as possible. Get a tally or whatever they give and head to alagbon. It takes about 30mins to get the police report if you know the right people, then you can go back to VFS to check if there's hope.

Ordinary biometrics, i got there before 12 and they bounced me, The next day, i got there like 9am, and i did not finish until past 5.

All the best.

This is scary! You mean going there by 10am is a waste of time? I need to collect my police certificate b4 going there 2moro, and I was told I will get it around 9am.

Dorisdili:
Hello house. Got to Canada safely. The immigration process at the point of entry isnt difficult. You just have to follow through the different process as directed. You will be asked questions by the immigration officers just answer them confidently, that's my own little advice.

At the first point of entry i gave them my immigration form that was given to me to fill in the plane. I was asked what are my basis of coming to Canada, what program, what school, how many years program. I was also asked to show a proof that am really going to study, then i showed her my admission letter and fees receipt. So its advised to have them in ur hand luggage as u might be asked. She also asked if i had and alcohol on me, if i had money or treasures on me worth up to 10000CAD(cos u have to declare it at the point of entry if you do, else u will pay a fine if they find out and u didn't declare it). How much i brought into Canada. So i answered the questions and was given back the stamped form to proceed to the second immigration officer.

At this stage i was asked what program i was going for, what school and how many years. Then the immigration officer threw a joke and said " i know u ran away from the hardship in Nigeria, i hear living in Nigeria is difficult" then i laughed and said not really, that i came basically for studies. Then he said "how is the cold in Nigeria, how is the snow" at that point my mind went to he probably wanted to know if i was really coming from Nigeria like i said. That was the only thing that came to my head that would make him say how is the snow. Then i laughed and said Nigeria has no snow, Nigeria is very hot. Then we laughed over it and he stamped my study permit and asked me to proceed to get my SIN(social insurance number) for work.
I went to the next immigration officer and filled out a form and was issued my SIN.
Basically that's about the summary of my experience at the point of entry.

So to all those coming in soon just answer ur questions at the Point of entry confidently and u are good to go. Wish u all best of luck . To all TRV hopefuls trust God and he will make it happen.

P.S Canadians are nice people, they smile at u for no just course, so don't hesitate to ask questions when u are confused at any point. If you tell them its ur first time in Canada they are always excited and eager to help you.

I am still trying to settle. Also make sure ur phone gsm broadband is compactable with Canadian gsm broadband before leaving ur home country else ur phone wont work with Canadian sim. I am having same issue right now cos i wasn't pre-informed. I jost got a new phone here. Information is key!!!

Best of luck guys!!!

I think he should apply alone, you can join him later. Especially for the fact that you are using two sponsors, If it was self sponsored, then better. Two sponsors is safe for one person. The question is "why exactly are you going with him now?" and which sponsor will sponsor two people when it's only one person that has to go to school.

Point is, you may even stand as a tie back home for your husband. With you applying at the same time, feels like you both may want to take off.LOL

Is it accessible? Like can you convert it to physical cash as soon as you want it. I mean the essence of showing source of fund is to show how you intend to cover your expenses and you have access to the money. So if it is, I think it should count. But if it not, then it might not count.
I'm not an authority here, but i think these guys are logical too.

uyplus:

Thank you. However, I'll like to inquire about wether pension account statements are also considered as a source of fund?
