Hello pilots, trust our day went well.
So I'm the lady who came on here last year September 2025 and mentioned that I was looking to buy 2 Nigerian used cars with a budget of 6 million. I got so many advice, yabs etc lol..

I actually got offers for some naija used cars but upon testing them with the help of a professional, turned out they had major issues so I didn't get any of them. I however decided to buy brand new kekes and gave them out on hire purchase, however, here's what I did differently.

Firstly I went to Keke parks, some even very far from where I stay and made enquiries on how hire purchase works from riders. They thought I was a potential rider on the lookout for who'd be willing to give me Keke on hire purchase. This made them relax and they gave me all the info I needed. Cost of current hire purchase value for keke, weekly remittance amount etc.
Next I located the chairman of the park and told them my intention of buying keke and the need for riders in the park, now there was a clause, I'd be involving my lawyer and there'd be an agreement. Most of the chairmen agreed, however the value for the duration of the hire purchase didn't tally with the information I had gotten from riders themselves, the chairman were offering something lower but made it seem like that was the standard. I immediately disengaged those ones. Some asked me what amount I had in mind, and how I want my weekly remittance to be like, I told them , but upon hearing a lawyer will be involved, they started dragging feet and delaying providing riders in their park, I also immediately disengaged.

I got another park whose chairman agreed with my payment terms and also an agreement at a lawyer's.

Note that in the course of looking for parks, approaching park chairman, I had gotten the two kekes from the company and installed trackers right there in the company before even driving it out. I engaged a car tracking company for this service.

So with my kekes ready and having gotten a park chairman who had riders on ground, I dragged all of them to the lawyer's chambers, 7 people in total. park chairman, 2 riders, each rider provided two guarantors each. At the lawyer's, everyone provided their NIN, passport photographs and signed the already prepared agreement documents. Addresses were verified. Lawyer gave warning and orientation on why there should be no stories regarding payment. Default for 2 weeks consecutively, then say goodbye to the keke, even if you have one week payment left, your money otilo. (My lawyer no be charge and bail ooo, very solid man 😁). Handover day was scheduled. On handover day, each rider stood beside the keke and we took pictures.

Long and short, it's been 5 months of bliss (Oct 2025 to March 2026) . Payment is supposed to be 10a.m on the scheduled day of the week as per agreement, but 6a.m, chairman don credit me 😁. I monitor their activities from time to time on my phone via the tracker's app.

I waited this long to see the pattern before coming to give this update. Thank you everyone who gave advice at the time, even the guy who yabbed me and told me to put my money in fixed deposit, I'm grateful. @glithronix @omoapena @eyo and few others I can't remember their names, I'm grateful. (Please pardon my long epistle).

Make sure they are fairly Nigerian used. I.e not imported earlier than 2023.
Any 3m Toyota or Honda is a problem car.
Keep extra 300k per car for brush up and fixing of hidden things u didn't discover when buying the car.
Hire a God fearing, hard working and responsible person.
Your weekly rent should not be less than 60k. Keep one week money in every month for repairs and maintenance.

Your success in this business is dependent on quality of the car, personality of the driver and the income you generate. Don't compromise on any.

What partners always tend to ignore is that giving out a car is passive income as u aren't the one driving it.
U invest 3-4m and get minimum 200k monthly. That's roughly 5% ROI monthly. In one year that's 60%. I haven't seen a passive income that will give u 60% yearly with as little as 3m capital investment. If u people know pls tell us o. They asked someone which alternative ? But the person hasn't said anything till now.

I hear you, but I will not be unfortunate sir, neither will my problems double, rather, I'd have a success story 😁. I'm sure some persons on here would have been running HP/rental successfully, despite the challenges for years. I know nothing good comes easy, however with God on my side and the necessary modalities in place, it will end in praise for me. Still, thank you for your suggestion.

What ever biz or thing that gave you the 6m. You can also Invest in NG treasury bills where you get annual interest more than 20% interest. Or download piggy vest and use safe lock feature. Do your research

No one will tell you the wahala in this uber biz especially if you are doing rental with a driver. And if you are unfortunate to buy a bad car which you might likely do with that ya 3m, your problem will double. This wahala biz only favors drivers

TravelRe: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by hardiodun(f): 4:15pm On Apr 12, 2022
Passport issuance this year seems to be automated and faster than that of last year. This year, there have been records of DIYers who got theirs exactly on the collection date. Even the day I collected, people who captured late March got their passports same day I did.
PS: This is for Alausa centre. I wouldn't know how others operate.

bfn1:
Congratulation!
You're very fortunate to have the actual issuance date (22-March-2022) coming just 14 days after the one stated on your collection slip (8-March-2022).

I know of someone who had her collection date as 27-August-2021, and when she eventually picked up her passport last month, the issuance date stated on her pp turned out as 15-February-2022 (that's 172 days).

TravelRe: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by hardiodun(f): 7:39pm On Apr 11, 2022
Hey guys!
So I picked up my passport, yesterday Sunday 10th April at Alausa office. The issuing date was actually March 22nd as opposed to the March 8th collection date stated on the print out after capturing. I actually told myself I was going to wait a month after the collection date so as to avoid stories that touch and I'm glad I did. It was worth the wait. Good luck to every other DIYer in the house. May the process be seamless for you too. Amen.
hardiodun:
Hi guys!! So I was at Alausa today for capturing, team DIY!! (I'm super grateful for this thread. Helped me a lot!) I'd try as much as possible to give details of steps I took before today, the events that transpired today so you don't make minor mistakes like I did today.

See ehn, if you know you are DIY, just make sure all your documents are intact (id give a list of required documents), duly stamped, no NIN or name issue whatsoever and I can assure you, it will be hassle free.

I had made payment since November last year, got an appointment date last December (find below all you need on the homepage to DIY https://passport.immigration.gov.ng/) but missed the day, so this February, I went back to reschedule.

I made a reschedule two weeks ago around 10th February and was given a date, 10th March, but that was too far for me, so I went back to the dates and saw today, 25th February was free (I didn't know how I missed out on the date initially) so I rescheduled again for today, meanwhile you have only 3 appointment scheduling attempts. I had used 2 and the third reschedule date, which was today, was my last attempt. I sha used one mind (the if I perish, I perish mind) and picked today's date.

Immediately I got a date, I downloaded the appointment slip and saved on my phone. I used my phone for the entire application process until the printing stage. (I'd advise you download each document and save on the go).

Mine was a fresh passport application so the following are the documents I took along:
*Application page (shows you have made payment, contains the information you filled online etc)
*Payment receipt (download this and print this too after making payment successfully)
*Guarantor form (available online. Download, print, fill and sign accordingly. Attach your guarantor's passport photograph, then get court stamp. I'd advise you go to a court near you to stamp, I did mine at Alausa today and I paid 2k for it. *Sobs*) Attach your guarantor's intl passport biodata page to the stamped form. My guarantor's intl passport would be expiring April this year and it was a source of worry to me that I was even looking for another guarantor, but I took the risk and apparently, it could be used since it's still valid. I took my guarantor's NIN too but it wasn't requested for, but still take yours along o, the anointing I carry might be different from yours, lol cheesy
*2 passport photograph of yours (I ended up using 1 though. Also, avoid getting to alausa before doing passport. 8 copies there is 1k as opposed to where I did mine at 8 copies for 500 naira, well except if money no be problem for you sha grin)
*Birth certificate ( photocopy and original. Please, I beg you, carry the original along o, carry the original of all your supporting documents along with you to avoid stories that touch the oesophagus)
*State of origin certificate (photocopy and original)
*NIN (photocopy and original)
*Appointment slip
*On getting to Alausa, before you even enter at all (I didn't know this, the guy that did my court stamp was the one who hinted me) ask the woman making photocopy outside that you want to buy passport application form. It's a 3 page form sold for 300 naira. Fill accordingly and attach your passport photograph. This is also one of the documents you'd be submitting, so after filling, add it to the other documents listed above.
*Letter to the PCO (Passport Control Officer) this is a handwritten letter on an A4 paper. There's no particular format for it (I know cos I asked some officers). Just harness your secondary school formal letter writing skills and address it to the Passport control officer stating that you are applying for an intl passport. Finish.

Next thing, in the immigration compound enter inside the building right in front of you (me I saw plenty people outside the building, under the canopy and panicked cos I didn't even know what to do or where to go. I went to sit down with those outside first before I was able to ask few people questions and they directed me, so don't be like me). When you enter the building, there is an officer or officers to your right on a reception like table. They are servicom. Move to them and tell them what you came for. They would ask for the application form ( I was lost for some minutes cos apparently, I had two application forms. The one downloaded online and the 3 page one I bought. What they need is the one you downloaded online. Give it to the officer and sit right in front of them till they call your name. Me I didn't know I was supposed to wait in front of them, I still carried myself back outside under canopy to sit grin grin. It wasn't until I asked another person again and they said I should go back to meet the officer that I was in the wrong place. As soon as I got there, she called my name and gave me back the form. That's how God saved me o. Could have been a different story if I was a minute late)

After returning the form to you, they then ask for your documents both photocopy and original. Your fate is determined starting from here. Make sure you go on your date of appointment gangan, if not, you'd be dismissed and told to go reschedule. Also, your documents, photocopy and original will be vetted here. Know your guarantor's full names and relationship to you o. They'd ask you at this point.

If you scale through, your original documents will be returned to you and you'd be given a file containing the photocopy after which you fill a book with some of your information. You'd then go to room where your documents will be vetted yet again and the file collected. You'll fill another book after which you'll be told to go wait under the canopy (the canopy that me I went to sit upon my arrival grin) your names will be called via a public address system afterwards and your file given to you which shows you are ready for capturing. You wait your turn and you'd be later ushered into the capturing rooms. Your file will be collected again here for another vetting and if you have no issues, they'll give you your file and you capture, the capturing officer will then finally collect the file after everything and a print out containing your information and collection date given to you. If you have issues eg NIN, name arrangement etc, your file won't be given to you for capturing (they'd tell you the issue though and advise you)

I entered the immigration building today 25th February around 12:30pm, captured and left around past 4pm. My collection date is 8th March 2022 (I'm like shey na eye dey pain me abi na wetin I dey see cos it seems pretty early, lol). I'll keep you guys posted sha. Good luck to everyone awaiting this process. I hope this helps!

Well, there are no specifications, I guess, but during document inspection, you'd be asked the person's name and how the person is related to you. If you answer satisfactorily, then you're good.
