I also disagree that women use this tactic to a larger degree. What I feel is women are more subtle in the usage than men. A woman can manipulate you and you won't even realise that you're being manipulated, while men do it more blatantly.

From my relationship with both genders, women employ emotional manipulations to a large degree. They would intentionally pit friends and families against each other. .
