5 SIGNS THAT SHOWS BUHARI IS NO LONGER IN CHARGE AND IMPLICATIONS 1. Suspension Of SGF Babachir Lawal 2. Release Of Biafran Leader, Nnamdi Kanu 3. Absence at Weekly FEC Meeting 4. Delayed cabinet reshuffle 5. Very limited public appearances The president had earlier taken a very clear stand on No. 1 and 2 in various media platform. He has not been known to waiver on his opinions and stands, however in recent days we have observed actions taken contrary to his earlier stands. He has been absent in FEC meetings with no prior announcements only faltering excuses here and there, but interestingly enough, no excuse could be given in his last absence. There had been indications of an urgent and imminent cabinet reshuffle, it ought to have been announced weeks ago, but delayed without reasons, despite the fact that some ministers were absent in the last FEC meeting. Finally, public appearances have been very limited home and abroad with his able VP doubling up seamlessly. In view of the above, it is still not quite clear which cabal is running the presidency, but indications are obvious that his deputy is a critical player as he seems to have both local and international support due to his intelligence, charisma and smartness (probably outshining and outclassing presido during his prolonged medical trip), unlike Jonathan during Yaradua's era. Although ultimately Prof. may not be able to bite the finger that put him as deputy beyond his loyalty to Buhari and so may be subject to control and manipulation by the Jagaban factor. Jagaban quickly eased off from the political scene when his interests in APC were being overlooked and began to push some silent buttons in the sidelines with some key political strategist. Buhari may not seem to be a good politician and his one lane "try to fight corruption ONLY" campaign may have made him less appealing to the big political players local and abroad, because even the attempt at trying to fight corruption seems not well structured and not infused into the system for continuity. Osinbajo himself is not a politician but the difference between them is that Osinbajo is not a one lane thinker....as professor in law; diplomacy, negotiations, logical arguments and multi perspective reasoning are his Forte... However, the major disadvantage from Buhari's power absence is that a leash may soon be put on the free-styling Rottweilers in efcc that are recovering stolen loot like never been done before, they are stepping on big toes and it would be difficult not to stop them if Buhari is off the scene. Worse still some of the funds maybe returned or relooted for political manipulations. |

No he was not. Based on statistics he goes down as one of the best presidents America has had. Don't be skewed in your analysis because GEJ is using him as an alibi for his failure. Personally, i don't believe in excuses, take full responsibility and move on. Firefire: |

Another Big Ministerial flop is Dr. Okechukwu Enyinna Enelamah, also known as Okey, M.D., CFA. It appears his ministerial job is now a side job as he focuses more on his private practise, even the website of his ministry has been on 2015 activities in 2017. Although some are of the opinion that he is being under utilised and would have fared better as minister for Finance. Or maybe he is not being properly supervised. Maybe he was put there as payback for laudering political loots and hence his side job is more important than the appointment. Nevertheless, He has not showcased anything close to his array of high profile educational qualification and global exposure in the world of finance. Below are his mammoth qualifications and exposure. 1. Enelamah earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1985. 2. He earned a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard University in 1994 where he was a Baker Scholar and Loeb Fellow. 3.He is a member of ICAN (1992) 4.He became a CFA in 1997. 5. He earned Dean’s List honours in his MBBS graduating class at the University of Nigeria, 6. He was awarded national prizes in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) examinations. Enalamah worked as an Audit Senior and Consultant with 1988 at Arthur Anderson (now KPMG Professional Services). He later worked in the New York and London offices of Goldman Sachs in 1993 before joining Zephyr Management as an investment manager where he rose to Principal in the Johannesburg office between 1995 and 1997.Enalamah founded African Capital Alliance (ACA), a private equity firm, in 1997 where he served as CEO. |

Having taking so long to appoint ministers, lets examine the biggest flops so far in pmbs ministerial appointments. No. 1 Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN- Minister for power, works and housing. Alot was expected from fashola based on his stint as Lagos state governor as well as his charm and charisma in various quaters, including his senate confirmation hearing. Amazingly, most of us did not see this coming, but after several months, there is nothing to show from the huge ministerial portfolio given to fashola. Am sure even pmb himself is wondering by now if he made a faulty selection . Power has gotten worse with no clear cut direction, same as works and housing. I therefore tag fashola's appointment as the biggest ministerial flop of this govt. Do you agree? |
