Politics / Re: Tension In Plateau As STF Orders Fulani Out Of Ancestral Villages by haruna1970(m): 10:05pm On Jul 14, 2012
youngies: There is a fresh tension in some recently attacked villages in Plateau State after the Special Task Force (STF), charged with maintaining peace in Plateau, gave inhabitants of some crisis-prone villages 48 hours to vacate their communities.

In a statement, STF spokesman, Salisu Mustapha, said that a "military operation" is going on in the affected areas located in Barkin-Ladi and Riyom Local Governments.

"The inhabitants of the affected areas are to vacate immediately with their property," the statement stated.

The affected villages include - Mahanga, Kakuruk, Maseh and Shong 2.

The statement did not say where the inhabitants of the villages should head to, and whether they would be resettled.

A resident of one of the villages said it was unfair and uncharitable for the STF to order them out of their ancestral villages without providing alternatives.

"We know no other home," he said. "Where do they want us to go? Why must they treat us as if we are foreigners in our own country."

The villager indicated that he and his kinsmen might disregard the STF's order "since we have no were to go".

The STF however, advised residents of neighbouring settlements such as KuraFalls, Kuzuk, Sharuk, Rim of Gashish Districts not to panic.

"Residents of such areas should just be very careful of their movement within the area and avoid places of military operation until further notice," the STF said.

The task force also advised people to report any suspicious movement or activities in their areas.

The military operation may have resulted from the incessant attacks by gunmen on some communities in the areas.

I think the government should create a settlement for them.

STOP INSTIGATING ONE RELIGION AGAINST ANOTHER. ALL RELIGION HAS ITS PROS AND CONS. YOU ARE AN AFRICAN FIRST BEFORE ANY RELIGION. YOU ARE BORN INTO YOUR RELIGION BECAUSE YOU CAME THROUGH THAT FAMILY. YOU ARE CHRISTIAN BECAUSE YOU ARE BORN INTO CHRISTIAN FAMILY. LIKEWISE YOU ARE MUSLIM BECAUSE YOU ARE BORN INTO MUSLIM FAMILY. SO BLAME GOD !

WHAT'S ALL THE FUSS ABOUT? THE CHRISTIANS BELIEVE ISLAM AND MUSLIMS ARE THE CORE PROBLEMS HAPPENING TO THIS COUNTRY, AND VICE-VERSA. WHY POINT ACCUSING FINGERS AT EACH OTHERS? WE HAVE MULTITUDES OF GLOBAL RELIGIONS. NEVER HEARD OF THEIR CONFLICTS. I BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT JUST BAN HIJAB, THAT IS TRIVIAL. THEY SHOULD JUST,IF NOT BANNED,AT LEAST REDUCED ALL RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES FROM THE PUBLIC. MY ANCESTORS LIVED WITHOUT THIS PROBLEMS. WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT IT TOO. THANKS.

Dear friend, its quite unfortunate i read your post lately about defamation of islam. if u are a student of history or an avid reader of contemporary history you will definitely shut up. try to read other scriptures. before christianity there was judaism, buddhism, shintoism, taoism etc. Buddha was a preacher, he was baptised with fire and he received holy spirit. that was the first time "BAPTISM" came into religion. so Jesus must have copied him. try and read mankind search for God", a highly religion sensitive book. have u read read about the crusader in the middle ages? who are those persecuting the christians? are they the muslim extremist? did u read about the great fire of 1666 in england? who sets it on fire? if it were modern day Hamas or Alqaeda or one islamic extremist group whould have been blamed. open your eyes, "IT'S ALL POLITICAL MOTIVATED". NEO-COLONIALISM, NEO-COLONIALISM, NEO-COLONIALISM. TELL ME, WHO CAUSE THE 1ST & 2ND WORLD WAR? my friend if u are a black man, think twice but if u are not shut up. I AM AN AFRICAN MAN. I HAVE BOTH MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS AS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. WE ALL RELATE. THANK YOU.
Aside: READ BAGHAVAD GITA. Maybe by then u will reason and understand that the war and the world existed before your existence.
