Well, I realy need to commend this @goodieuzo writer first. hes realy fantastic. has given good tips and reliable information. He was almost perfect!

I have been off the forum due to my travels and other stuffs getting me busy. I have read from where i stopped and sense some simple mistakes people are making.

The problems are..

1. Some people are just here trying to discourage others over job, accomodation, family relocation and whatsoever.. But all i would say is.. please stop the discouragement.. let people who have been there give you their experiences so that you might learn and execute your movement too. No allow people with "bad belle Nigerian blood" distract you because they have made it in Ivorycoast.

2. Some willing travelers too are in doubts thats grieves my heart a liitle bit because they havent been there to have a change breakthrough of life. Not only by travelling to Abidjan. . but other places. We all know whats happening in Naija today. well lets leave that. all i know is that you can never meet someone who have been to Abidjan not once not twice.. and would give you a rubbish comment about the city.. THATS NEVER POSSIBLE. GOD SEF KNOW! It depends and its left to you ur self.

3. Language stuff ( which is actually part of the discouragement ) I was just laughing as i was reading some comments on Language. See men! Deaf and Dumb people dey make their living in West Africa. French is the official language fine.. so thats all and Bleep the country. .abi? lol . never. language is not it.. its just having a big part of it. Your English as a Nigerian is a Big opportunity for money. Only if you are realy good and willing to work. (i wont talk much on language and its problem. i have written something like that before on this same forum)

4. Which is maybe the last for now. is the BULLY ORELOPE TRANSPORT STUFF. Fine.. i am here to confirm to you that Bully Orelope is one of the leading transport system in Ejigbo, Osun State. AND IT IS REALY GENUIN.. they have been in existence for the past 10 years. so no qualms about that at all. The only problem is that they dont realy have a website . (almost all transporters in Ejigbo dont have websites ). BUT TO BE ON A SAFER SIDE OR ANY STILL DOUBTS, PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO ANY MR WHATEVER NOR TRY TO PERFORM ANY SILLY TRANSACTION WITH ANY ONE. MY ADVICE IS FOR YOU TO GO TO EJIGBO OSUN STATE ITS SELF.. YOU CAN GET THERE FROM LAGOS, IBADAN .OSOGBO AND SO ON.. SO THATS SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM.. GET THERE YOUR SELF AND PAY. SEE THE BIG BUS. TENDER YOUR LUGGAGES AND PAY. YOU WILL SEE SO SO MANY OPTIONS AND TRANSPORT COMPANIES APART FROM BULLY ORELOPE . JUST TO CONFIRM .

THANKS. CHECK MY PROFILE FOR ANY CONTACT AS I WOULDNT REALY BE ABLE TO SHARE MY CONTACT ANY HOW DUE TO THE RULES ON NAIRALAND.

Pidggin:
Nawao why go to a strange land where they speak a language you don't understand? This is what happens when people destroy their country and then seek refuge elsewhere smh

No, Abidjan is not a strange land. The Language is not everything.. you are just being afraid. .. Go to Cocody.. large international community expats live there . (americans, English men, brazilians, mexicans and other Europeans live there) tgey speak English. . like wise Zone 4 area at marcory pkenty foreigners.. Engkish schools, English hotels, english environment.

However go to adjame or same Marcory and speak pidgin. . you will definitely find many Igbo people of Nigeria over there.. or simply go to koumassi and tell the taxi man you are going to "QUATIER IGBO" or "QUATIER IGBOLAI" .Igbo men are all over around they own shoe shops and clothings..

Moreover, Adjame is for the Yorubas..just ask for 'SAINT MICHELLE AT ADJAME " you will find thousands of yoruba people. . or find my yoruba family at Treichville ask for "habitat '.. Language plenty here baje. not only french.

SO LANGUAGE IS NOT A PROBLEM! !

As it has been said that nobody give you ideas, depends on you. But i will just suggest for you:

- Buy Clothings there and send to Nigeria for sales (wholesales)
- Bags and women acessories (thats still buying and transporting)
- If you are capable, open a shop in Abidjan, sell Electrical appliances
- If you have money, join the car parts and machine bussiness
- Open a marquis grin fastest profitable bussiness in Abidjan. FOOD HOUSE "allocodrome''
- Beer Houses or Just a shop of retailing drinks and breweries (same as above)
- Beauty stuff, marquillage, makeup shop (best), Hair dressing (you will sell like madt), Beauty House

JUST GIVING SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS WILL SHARE SOME PICTURES AS USUAL

My dear please I really need help o!!!
I studied a paramedical course and have up to 2years working experience in Laboratory services plus close to one year Sales experience in a pharmaceutical company.
I am also into beauty and I do; Pedicure, manicure, nails (both local and gel polish), hair, eye lashes and carving of eyebrows plus massage.
I just want to leave Nigeria in the next couple of months,...
1). How much do I need
2). What are my chances of securing a job or using my skill
3). Who do I trust to help me blend into the system?

God Bless U.

1. You need approximately 20k to transport you to Abidjan. try to go to cotonou first then from there Abidjan is just 10k and lago to Cotonou is jus 2k.other money for border bribery.

2. Chance depend on your French. But dont worry if you dont understand french, you can still get a job. It realy depend on your qualification. french is just an add up. make sure you try to at least know some stuffs in french (will help a lot). Many companies and small bussiness are owned by Nigerians and Ghanians here. so you can still get a job, but might not be a standard one tho. Medical jobs realy need french speaker only if you are a professor.

3. Its not a system, even its not blendable. You have blended with the whole thing as long as you step in the city of Abidjan anytime any day. grin .Abidjan is always friendly, our national anthem says it all. 'pays de l'hospitalite' meaning COUNTRY OF HOSPITALITY.
You cant complain about the hospitality, bet it! only if someone behaves arrogantly or badly

lol.. Thats the community of Enjoyment..Too many Bars and Clubs, Beer houses, Marquis and Brothels ooo shocked.. They will just be disturbing you every Night. Remember, Abidjan doesnt sleep.. the night is always young.

Only if you are used to crazy lifestyle, then you should live there, Rich people who live serenelife dont build house there, only the Sex seekers and Yahoo boys mostly live in Yopougon.

But you can rent an apartment at Yopougon Sicogi or Lacodjro area.. thos place are quiet and cool.

Thanks @Harzontorh,I appreciate. But pls, cocody and accra where is more developed? Thanks

Cocody is better. The secrete is that any francophone country is better in terms of living, life generally, socialities, business, enjoyment, electricity and freshness. But anglophone countries are cool when it comes to work and hustling.

Meanwhile, Cocody is a Commune (area) in Abidjan where the Rich and the Wealthy people live. There you will fine a large number of expats (tourists from around the world) living and relocating in that area, mostly Lebanese, French men, American, South african, Chinese and Europeans, likewise at Zone 4 ( zone quatre) too many europeans live there.

How My Duration of Travel from Lagos to Abidjan is, at a Glance:

*Other borders typically take 10mins to get through
*I only listed few main Cities along the journey. you'll get across many cities towns as well as villages.
* another option which I love is.. 2-luxury bus companies can get you to Abidjan- ABC Transport from Lagos to Accra & STC Buses from Accra to Abidjan.

Thanks bro, pls like how many days will it take and do dey pass through Ghana?
Wat are d necessary documents to hold pls...

In addition to Ugosample's comment, Young Shall Grow Transport (YSG) is the fastest.. but if you want to feel like a virtual tuorist the you can also try going to benin, then at cotonou, yo can try UTB TRANSPORT. UTB is the best transport to Ivory Coast after STC. the Utb is owned by the Ivoirians themselves so its easy and cool. Price Range of all travel stuff from Nigeria to Ivory Coast is 15,000 - 20,000 Naira.

And another Option for all is if your city is close to Ejigbo. A town in Osun State. you can go from lagos or Ibadan to Ejigbo very easily. So Ejigbo is the home to Travels to Abidjan the price is the cheapest. just 10k and hold 2k to cross.. thats all.

They have many buses and giant marcoplos.. too many transportation schemes that goes to Cotonou, Lome, Accra and Abidjan every Sundays, Wesdays and Thursdays.

So back to your question on tge the travel duration in ghana:

Ghana is just a 12hour journey. From aflao to elubo. If you leave Lomé, Togo at 5pm (evening) then you'll reach the ghana/Ivorycoast border at 5:00 - 5:30am (second day morning).

I will break it down for you. How i used to travel w/africa... read my next post.

Wow ok i think i gotta meet my doctor for tge yellow wateva card den. Meanwhile bro how long will it rake from here to ivory coast on road pls...

okay that's good. But you don't realy need an international passport to cross any west African border.. especially Lagos - Abidjan. Just hold small money like 5k for border crossing bribery.. and if you already have a passport, then goodluck. But i advice you to always tender your I.D card only.. be it Student I.d or worker I.D card.. you are good to go .. because you might be delayed at the border when it comes to passport stamping.. those who show their I.D card, with/without Yellow Vaccination Card (not realy necessary ) cross the border fast .

You might get injected for immunisation at the ghana/Ivorycoast border. .. and you can as well pay for that tp avoid it, but its not advisable
