If you check well, most of the the players named has retired. I think only Johnny Evans still plays. Maguire might just join the list before he retires if he continues like this.

Why are you hell bent on making unnecessary comparisons, boss? We have a Nigerian legend and an upcoming one that everyone loves, I don't see any need in watering down the great Yekini's achievements.

37 goals in 56 is an insane stat anytime, anyday.

midtable EPL teams look good enough until they are beaten in Europe continuously by teams from Azerbaijan and latvia. The gulf in quality between the likes of man city, man u, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and arsenal and the rest of the league is wide apart and even these teams are not constant conquerors in Europe. But if you say so Sha.
No, you're very wrong bro. The only team with a wide gulf of quality from Mid table teams in EPL is City.

Honestly if Maguire doesn't leave this summer, then ETH should bench him all season..

The club has already encountered serious loss on him and now that the club found little £30m he wants to do this shit..
He'll leave, but if he doesn't then you can trust Ten Hag to bench his ass all season. There's a reason why Ten Hag stripped him of the captain armband, he does not rate him.

WHY IT MAY BE BETTER FOR NDIDI TO STAY IN LEICESTER

Ndidi might be better off staying in leicester because
THEIR NEW COACH IS A TIKI TAKA POSSESSION FOOTBALL COACH. HE IS ONE OF GUARDIOLAS ASSISTANTS
AS A RESULT, HE IS FORCING NDIDI TO PLAY TECHNICAL FOOTBALL PASS AND ATTACK WITH THE BALL
IN FACT, HE IS NOW PLAYING HIM AS A BOX TO BOX MIDFIELDER
THIS IS WHAT HAS BEEN MISSING ABOUT NDIDI'S GAME AND WHY HE IS NOT IN A BIG CLUB
HE NEEDS SOMEWHERE WHERE HE CAN LEARN THE BASICS
IF HE CAN SPEND A SEASON LEARNING HOW TO BE TECHNICALLY ASTUTE THEN HE CAN MOVE TO
A BIGGER CLUB BUT HE MAY HAVE TO STOOP TO CONQUER

AS PER IHEANACHO THE COACH PREFERS HIM BECAUSE HE SUITS A POSSESION PLAYING TEAM
HE IS PREFERRED AHEAD OF VARDY FOR TACTICAL REASONS
THE COACH LIKES HOW HE MOVES BACK IN MIDFIELD AND DRAGS THE CENTER BACKS OUT OR POSITION
I HAVE ALLWAYS FELT IHEANACHO WILL DO WELL IN AN AVERAGE TEAM IN A TECHNICAL LEAGUE/TEAM THAT
PLAYS TECHNICAL FOOTBALL.
TEAMS LIKE CELTA VIGO, PARM ETC IN ITALY OR SPAIN.

AS PER NDIDI
IF HE STAYS HE HAS TO LEARN!!! LEARN!!! AND BECOME MORE TECHNICAL
IF NOT THE NEXT ONE YEAR WILL BE WASTED
The last goal he scored was exceptional shooting technique. Quality of opponent aside, I didn't know he had it in him.

Bro what's the latest on Iwobi, will he still move this TW?

Everton flirted with relegation last season and has not invested very well for them to not do the same this season. We all see how hard Forest are trying regarding transfers even though they were not as bad as Everton last season.

the major issue is now that they hv shown the whole world that they hv 110m pounds to spend on a DM their second option which is Lavia will prompt soton to demand over 50m pounds from them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

That move wasn’t well calculated by club and liverpool management. They would at first approach Caicedo from behind and if he wants to join them they can then put in a bid to liverpool for the Ecuadorian
I was also wandering why they didn't reach out and agree personal terms with the player first before bidding £110M.

Southampton are surely waiting for above £50M, heard they rejected £48M recently.

Where is the ball playing
Ball playing as in ability to string passes together, not hoofing the ball at any slight opportunity. I'm not talking about playing possessive football; I'm not a fan of that particular style.

A neutral that has watched both teams play will know who's better in that regard.

The fact that we don't know how to play possession football is affecting the team.
This demon came back to haunt us. We've been getting away with chaotic football since the beginning of the tournament.

The falcons should go and bring up their ball-playing to the level of at least SA.

This isn't surprising.

1. South Africa has a football philosophy. The ladies and the men play exactly the same way. The have a lot of pace and make smooth forward transitions. If you've followed South African football for sometime you'll know this. They didn't start playing like this today. The only issue is it doesn't translate into success. They don't really know how to win.

2. Like I said earlier, a large chunk of this South Africa team has played together for years. Coupled with their philosophy they'll definitely look a lot better.

3. The general outlook of the falcons gameplay isn't peculiar to them. If you watch the Super Eagles, they have the same problem. The eagles find it extremely difficult stringing passes together. It's a Nigerian issue that needs solving. The super Falcons are even getting better.

4. If more importance is the fact that the Super Falcons are a young team. When I say young I don't necessarily mean age (even though it's a part of it) but Korea importantly the time spent playing together. To explain better:

3 (75%) starting members of our defence (Demehin, Plumtre and Alozie) have been in the team for about 2 years or less. They've been actively playing together for less than a year.

5 persons have played in midfield for us since the word cup began (Abiodun, Ayinde, Payne, Echegini and Ucheibe). 4 (80%) of them have been in the team for 2 years or less and have been actively playing together for less than a year.

1 of the 3 players in attack (Onumonu) has been in the team less than 2 years and has been actively playing for 1.

This isn't making excuses as we demand better from the team. I'm just accounting for some reasons why this is. Randy has sorted out this team defensively to a large extent. Hopefully we can begin to work io . possession and transition moving forward.
You've spoken well bro, Hopefully we see some positive changes.

Baba, I understand you perfectly. It's what they've been saying for over a decade and they didn't just "started getting".
We'll see, but they look a more proper team than the Falcons.

We've been pretty decent this tournament, but I want to watch us play well and score team goals, not just from opponent errors alone. This present team is just defensive solidity and insha Allah.

Budding bawo.

A large chunk of this team has been together for years o. The Nigerian team is younger than they are.
What I meant was that they just started getting things right and are on the path to becoming an African powerhouse. Gone are the days when the Falcons dominate the entire African football.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by hatakekakashi: 9:54am On Aug 02, 2023

It requires repeated training..

Super Falcon players stand too far from each other to be able to move the ball fast.

It also requires repeated training in one - two passes, rondos. e.t.c.

I have only seen videos of Super Falcons jogging and exercising..

I have never ever seen videos of them passing among themselves or even doing rondos..
You're very correct. It requires time and proper coaching. Most of what the Falcons do is hoofing and puffing the ball around and wait for individual brilliance or mistakes from the opponent. We hardly see them play modern football.
