Were you able to check what went down with the African? Tenshades said it was regarding rating. Give us breakdown abeg if you can so we can take steps and we fit caution them for slack too
Actually, an African wasn't involved. It was someone else. Arlen was probably just triggered by the people that used the "100" emoji when an African made a comment.
And with the look of things, it has been on her mind. So, she spilled everything out.

Those apologising, you're wasting your time. Those guys no send anybody.
Despite the fact that the points made sense, notice how no Filipino commented and liked the comments, also notice how people from East Africa avoided that discussion.

Just do your work, help people to answer questions if there's a need, seek for clarification if there's a need and that's all.

What are you guys doing by begging on behalf of Africans?
Na only we waka come?

Checked slack this morning and I saw this from arrlenn in response to an African:

" and all other good African team members - I need your help because a big portion of the transcribers who are making bad impact to our team output and risking our relationship with clients are for a fact from the African Region. I'm trying my best to curb these people but when I remove one, 10 will follow. Its getting to be really bad for QAWorld. I don't want to have to request to make it very hard for Africans to get into QA World - but I will when push comes to shove. "

This is very serious.
I saw it and wasn't happy about it.
She reacted to the guy that made the comment, and that reaction shows it's probably been on her mind for quite a while.
As Drawnobet will say, back-reading helps.
Some people here haven't taken their time to read all the contents here, some people don't even open Slack to read up.

What are we doing na!
This stuff has been around since like February...
Let's calm down and take our time.

If it's not because of the opportunity to redo a failed job, and then nairaland, it'll take at least one month to be good in this stuff. Because nobody will even answer us on Slack.
Abeg o.

I mean when I was in Europe .. I used PayPal to receive payment and i can send payment too.
But when I came to Nigeria... So I wanted to use paypal, but I now realised that there was no receiving option again. So I called them and i was told that I can't receive money in Nigeria unless I go back to Europe where I was before because there was embargo on Nigeria for receiving payment . So later I now link another master card from First bank in Nigeria , I now used it to purchase a device on ebay.and d item was shipped successfully.
Okay. I get you.

I just went through the sample transcripts.

One thing I was particular about was the use of but.

I noticed it was used many times after a full stop.
I used to think that was wrong and could earn one a low rating. It's improper in normal sentence construction.

What do you think?
If you follow their format, they won't mark you down.

100 minutes per day will give you 700 minutes per week.
7 x $20 = 140dollars plus bonus

You can save up from your earnings and buy a solar panel, lithium battery, and inverter.

Everything won't cost more than 80k.

You will never bother about electricity again.
Easier said than done.

Are you indirectly trying to market a product?

You see, i don pass 100mins already and today i no work
$100, not 100 minutes.
100 minutes gives you $20+.
The lowest on the leadership board, Gian P, got 477.9, which is more than $90.
Remember, it is not just about reaching those minutes. One must also make ratings 4 and 5.

But I really give it to you, though.
Wednesday, and you're already at over 100 minutes already!!! Damn!!! You get mouth.
It just shows that it doesn't matter how we force it... Some people's zeal go still pass other people own.

QA hurt my feeling so badly today, I must confess. I did two very long calls, sotey all my back and neck dey ache. Made sure to go through it carefully to avoid stories that touch. Can you believe they rated my call in the middle of the night by 3am. They sent a mail giving me 90 minutes to edit. That I should change "Hi, this is Angel from Funding Circle" TO "Hi. This is Angel from Funding Circle". Mail wey I no see till this 7am. They rated me 2 and refused to pay me. Same thing with the other 11 minute call too. One very stupid trivial thing.

Those people no get joy. God punish devil.

Read the "Sample Transcripts" from time to time, to understand how they like it. I still check it every time.

It is possible that some Nigerians on Slack did not pass through here.

Someone on Slack once talked about PayPal not working in Nigeria, and that he doesn't know how he'll get his money.
Those guys know people from Nigeria.

Let us properly take our time to read from this thread, so that Arlen and co. don't start looking for dots to connect in the statement.

I really feel ashamed to see this angry. I've been on this thread for more than two months but I've always been discouraged by terrible ratings, the little cents I get paid after hours of work and epileptic power supply around here. You are right, patience and hard work it is. Well done, bro.

You shouldn't be now. They are no longer as stone-cold as they used to be.
They're now lenient.

Imagine, when you have a poor rating, you have the grace to redo it.
It wasn't like that before, remember?
This is arguably one of the best times to take advantage.

What's the high kyc and low kyc for, is it to specify the type of the card or something?
Yes, it's also called "Local high" and "international high"...
I believe the one we're all using is the "International High".
It seems the local high might prevent one from withdrawing the funds directly. That's where the int'l high comes in.
With the int'l high, you can withdraw at any bank you like. Not same for local high.

The bank guy explained the stuff but e be like say I don forget.

Let's rejoice and celebrate with them, some of the incoming officers might not have the luxury of having their families and friends witness this very important day of their lives due to distance and other factors, I think it will be nice if we make that day memorable for them, by being their physically(for those that can make the trip),
I will be there live and direct by God's grace.
I use them as a point of contact to some of us here(including me oo!!!!) grin that keep asking the big question "God when" ? that our turn to smile will come soonest. IJN, Amen..
God bless you all
God bless the incoming Officers
God bless the Nigerian Army
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

I don't know if there is anyone here making use of dollar africard.
Paypal converts the dollar in ur account to naira before sending the money to ur card, I think, so I'm not sure u need a dollar africard for this.

Go to any uba bank branch and request for a naira africard. U fund the card in naira, withdraw in naira and do everything else in naira. U don't really need the dollar card for this unless maybe u want to use it for something else.
I want to request for "Africard, High KYC". That's it.
And not "Low KYC".

What did you tell them during your time?

The form will require that you submit copies of nysc discharge certificate, waec cert, and degree cert.

I hope you know it's 267k for 2 years?

So that in case encounter such problem, instead of waiting for 3 hrs before i can select another call, I will just switch to my other account.. Please help out

Just like QA doesn't recommend people using phones, yet Nigerians use it and it works for them. You can try.
I think people have tried it in the past and it worked for them.
