Foreign Affairs / Re: Horrific New Stories Of Hamas Attacks In Israel Surface, Including Rape Of Women by hbk001(m): 8:59am On Dec 04, 2023
I still don't understand the rationale behind the Oct 7th attack by Hamas at the Nova festival but I just have to say that they deserve everything that Israel are doing to them at the moment. You don't bite a finger that's bigger than you and you won't expect a reprisal.
What is shocking is how these head slammers especially those of them here in Nigeria are not saying anything about the attack on October 7th but are so quick to call out Isreal and say different things as if they have the power and might to fight. If Dem born una Papa and mama well, go to Israel and say all these rubbish you're saying if your food no go done ASAP.
The silence of the Bear is not a sign of cowardness. If u think say u get madness, there are many whose madness mad pass yours.

Really?
Why is everything about this country always difficult?
With the various fleets of private jets belonging to all these politicians and all, what is making this situation so difficult for them?
And for those who still want to go back to Sudan amongst them, why not just stay there then... RUBBISH.

It begs to ask this morning if anyone else has been experiencing this issue this Saturday or am I the only one having this issue...

Very kind of the mosque users for not killing the infidels. Very kind of Mr Peter for building a befitting mosque for the Muslims.

However, don't make mistake of sending your children to Kaduna or some northern Nigeria, they see you as infidels and will deal with you accordingly.

Perhaps you're right. But I once stayed for about three days and nights in a mosque in Zaria when I was stranded there some years back. Not all places up North are bad, or all Northerners evil.

Religion / Historical Masjid Built By A Christian For Muslims In Osogbo by hbk001(m): 12:38pm On Feb 21, 2023
This is an historical Masjid built by a Christian, named Oluwadayo Peter in Osogbo Osun State at Oja Oba(King's Market) and which is also very close to the central mosque at the same Oja Oba area in Osogbo.
During its commissioning, Mr Peter said, "Anytime my dad bullied my mum everybody will be sent out and no one will give us shelter even our closest friends. but the Mosque. My mother, my siblings and I slept in the Mosque several times till day break hence It's a payback time to turned the Mosque to modern one".

In conclusion, once we don't allow religious intolerance to reign big amongst us, this country will be a better place to live in. Religious intolerance is one of the major reasons causing conflicts and chaos, plus misunderstanding in this country. Go bless us all.

Politics / What Does It Takes Them To Do The Right Thing by hbk001(m): 11:11am On Feb 02, 2023
The kind of hardships and inconveniences the common man is experiencing today is something I think shouldn't be happening. Why does our government always want to suffer its citizens? This APC administration has brought nothing but unwarranted hardships and suffering for Nigerians.
The events of this past few weeks has been like living in hell. Please, I may not be well versed in public administration, but what kind of government allows its citizens to suffer this way? Why the "sudden" change of currency at this period? Take the US dollar for example, the color has always remain the same right from time! What is the essence of changing a currency color for goodness sake! This policy has brought untold suffering for everyone. if you want to withdraw #5000 from a POS stand now, you'll have to pay #1000 from my end here. Going to the bank? That's another case entirely. If you get there by 5am, you would've met a long queue and the bank staffs won't load the ATM until around 2pm or thereabouts.
Should we talk about fuel now, or the high prices of foodstuffs which has remain constant or go higher? I was to attend a wedding of my niece at Ekiti state over the weekend but just have to go to the fuel station on Thursday morning as early as 6am and yet I left the place around past 3pm in the afternoon. I have to park the car and didn't drive it out until that Saturday because who can use a fuel bought at #375 per litre anyhow now?

Does it takes this government anything just to make things work well at all? Do they even know what's going on in the country? Do they really care about us? Well, election day is around the corner, I hope we get it right this time around or else Nigeria is doomed forever.

@op you lost me with the topic as the answer is quite straightforward since you used the word 'groom'. Going strictly by your question it is a Pitbull. However reading contributions and your responses I will advise a GSD.
"Dog grooming refers to both the hygienic care and cleaning of a dog, as well as a process by which a dog's physical appearance is enhanced for showing or other types of competition."
Hope this helps.

Thanks boss. I appreciate. I'm getting the GSD next month.

Legend2000:
If it is aggressiveness, who said German sherperds are not aggressive? But you see, you shouldn't get and train a dog to be aggressive, and that's just a good thing about German sherperd, they are intelligent and sensitive, know when to raise alarm or attack. Socialisation is necessary for both dogs, I mean once when socialised, the dogs knows their boundary and all, they defend it, yeah the pitbull is aggressive, but forget the pics you posted, getting those kind of pit bull in Nigeria here is almost impossible, but level of aggression should not be your agenda for owning a dog, but I will say the GSD is a better fit than the pit bull

Thanks boss. I appreciate this feedback. Actually, aggressiveness isn't the main reason for this and I think with all being said, I will probably buy the German Shepherd puppy then.
N.B: The pics I posted were just culled from the internet to depict what I'm trying to say but once I get the puppy, I'll definitely be giving an update here. Thanks once more brother.

You can groom any dog specie if you have the time , resources, space, interest and set of skills required to do so.

However in the case between a GSD and pitbull, i will personally pick the GSD, anytime anyday.

The gsd has a more general acceptance and preference among nigerians, and the reason isnt far fetched, it is fairly straight forward to train and it responds to training easily.

Am not saying a pitbull is difficult to train but when you compare both, a GSD can be easily trained whether you have had a dog before or not.

Infact, you a GSD can easily adapt to being a personal inside the house dog and/ or being strictly a security dog. It is a specie that is very responsive to training and easily adapt to you and your style

With a pitbull you would need more awareness about dogs in general and the pitbull in specie in specific to successfully groom it. And let me state that it isnt impossible if you are interested in doing so.

For me personally it is GSD first and other dogs thereafter.

Thanks boss. I appreciate this feedback. Some of my folks who also groom dogs has been advising on getting GSD over the pitbull. Well, I love abit of aggressiveness though and that's why I am also eyeing that Pitbull. Seems I'll go for the GSD after all. Thanks man.
I can see you've got a GSD too right ?

Hello nairalanders, it's been a while I've been having this plan to groom a nice dog for protection and also as a pet too.
I've been reading some stuffs about dogs lately especially the pitbull and German Shepherd because I have options to buy either of the duo at the moment, though both are still puppy.
I will really appreciate your own opinions, bashing inclusive (normals here), which of these two have you groomed or have more ideas of and which I can opt for......
Thanks.

And when you track down or by chance discover the riffraffs behind those monikers, you would be amazed.... Immediately they are done with their N.Y.S.C service and oppurtuned to get a job immediately (some are even jobless or still an intern), they feel untop of the world thinking they are wiser than everyone, forgotten that experience matters no Matter how brilliant you are.....

Person wey dey primary school when Fashola was elected as the governor of Lagos state go dey educate you on how Tinubu built Lagos... Just too bad.

One of the bad effects of the social media space.

Culture / Be Careful How You Insult People On Social Media by hbk001(m): 8:52pm On Jan 06, 2023
Social media has made us not to know who our mates are any longer because each of us is holding a smartphone and has data to post, we don't take a minute to reflect on the possible personality of the person at the other end communicating with us.
And I will share a personal experience.
Few days ago, I shared a content on a particular WhatsApp platform which attracted a few positive comments from members of the group. But someone slid into my dm and made some observations on things I could improve on the project.
I didn't know him or her from anywhere (but from the way he spoke I could almost tell he or she is my junior). Well, for me, that doesn't really matter. I just said "thank you, I appreciate" and let him go.
The next day, I implemented about 90% of his or her recommendations. Then I did something that only a few people would consider doing.
I went back to the person, submitted the latest version of the work and asked for further criticism (critics are one of the greatest assets you have on any project, unfortunately most people don't know this).
He or she looked at it and confessed that I have a near perfect work. I thanked him or her. But then, I went back again, introduced myself and requested to know more about whoever he or she is if he or she doesn't mind.
At that point, I was expecting to get just the name and maybe gender so as to enable me save the number accordingly.
But I was shocked what I got instead.
I received a detailed profile of a man whose first son is about my age mate.
As at the time the man started his career with UNICEF, I wasn't born yet. He had gone ahead to work as a consultant to United Nations for over 20 years.
He spends at least 9 months outside Nigeria each year with his children living in UK, US and Canada - but see me in the same WhatsApp group with him.
After my conversation with him, I sat back and reflected on the different dramas I have seen on social media.
I have watched people insult people they have no idea what their profile is, especially on a WhatsApp Group.
Sometimes you may share a post and someone drop a comment that is not too complimentary and the next thing that will follow will be loads of insult.
In fact, I have watched one C-suite exec exit a particular WhatsApp Group with tears because of the insult he received from a young girl in the group (obviously the girl had no idea of whom the person is while releasing her poison).
This is quite common on many WhatsApp Group.
Imagine you are in your University Alumni WhatsApp Group. On that platform, there are people that graduated in 1980 and there are people that graduated in 2021.
But they both have one thing in common - they are both alumni. And with that common factor they are both entitled to be on the same platform without any form of discrimination.
Now, you would imagine that the person that graduated in 1980 may have retired as a Director in CBN, he might be the owner of one of the best hospitals in US, he might be a Professor at Imperial College or a senior executive at Google.
Of course the person that graduated in 2021 might still be doing NYSC.
So imagine that on one of those occasions a controversial issue like why Peter Obi must not win 2023 election is raised on the platform and our NYSC guy start raining insults on the Imperial Professor for holding a different view.
I want you to just imagine that for a minute.
We also see this happen on Facebook comments. Sometimes you just notice a comment on someone's post. Of course you don't know the person that dropped the comment neither do you care to know. But all you know is that the person must be "a bastard and a very useless person" for saying that and that is exactly what you drop as your own reply.
Don't allow that device you are holding to deceive you. We are together on these social platforms, we share jokes and learn from each other, but we are not mates.
Resist the temptation of saying "who does he think he is, he should get out from here".
Respect for elders is not only for those in your village, it also applies on this Social Media street. Unfortunately you can't even recognise who an elder is here - so just respect everyone, respond to them with courtesy and deep respect.

Sports / Cristiano Ronaldo: Portugal Deny That Captain Threatened To Leave by hbk001(m): 1:08pm On Dec 08, 2022
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has denied that
Cristiano Ronaldo threatened to leave the World Cup.
Portuguese publication Record claims the forward, 37, made
the threat after being told he would not start their last-16
game against Switzerland.
In the previous game against South Korea, the Portugal
captain reacted angrily when he was substituted.
The FPF said: "At no time did Cristiano Ronaldo threaten to
leave the national team during the stay in Qatar."

Ronaldo left Manchester United by mutual agreement before
Portugal's World Cup opener after a controversial interview in
which the five-time Ballon d'Or winner criticised the club.
Ronaldo was substituted off the field in both of Portugal's
opening games and coach Fernando Santos said he "didn't
like" Ronaldo's reaction when he was again replaced during
the 2-1 group defeat by South Korea.
Goncalo Ramos started instead of Ronaldo against
Switzerland and the 21-year-old scored a hat-trick in the 6-1
victory.

Ronaldo, who is Portugal's most-capped player (195) and all-
time leading goalscorer (118), was used as a late substitute in
that game but, afterwards left the field while his team-mates
were still celebrating.

"Cristiano Ronaldo builds up a unique track record every day
at the service of the national team and the country, which
must be respected," added the FPF.
"The degree of dedication of the player most capped by
Portugal was again demonstrated - if necessary - in the victory
against Switzerland, in the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup."

Ronaldo did not train with the other substitutes after
Wednesday's game, instead taking part in a gym session
alongside those that started against Switzerland.
