So sorry mama. I had this issue with my son when he was a few months old too. I had to return all the nan I had bought. Switched to Aptamil and worked for a while... It is well. Want to find out if anyone has tried Colourful Giggles baby cereals. I think they are new and affordable. Been following their page on Instagram and they seem to have great reviews and flavours too. Anyone try them yet? marygold: |
Okay people, because it won't even be fair to owe an uninteresting birth story, lemme quickly drop it ![]() Was sleeping and felt mild contraction. Thought it was because my bladder as full and I decided go pee as I had heard it relieves braxton hicks contractions. After peeing I wiped and saw blood! That how the whole drama began. I didn't even think for once it was 'show'. All the bad bad things I've read on google about bleeding during pregnancy including placenta detaching flashed before me. Na so I enter panic mode. I called my doctor and put the fear of God in him until he eventually said I should meet him at the hospital. When I arrived the hospital, he checked and said 3cm dilated. They come and ask me that on the scale of 1-10, what's the threshold of my pain? I come and ambitiously say 3 because I have a lot of faith That's how my doctor said its a lie that I'm on a minus 0 level sef and he knows how hard doing a vaginal examination on me is They sha agreed to watch and see. One hour later the nurse came and attempted to do VE, Na dia katakata burst as I no allow am oh. That how my doctor said 'I told you so'. Hebrew women in the house without epidural, I hail una... My doctor said getting an epidural early is good cos when it's time for the active phase of labour, pushing, the drug would have started wearing out a little and I will be able to feel the urge to push. It happened exactly this way for me. I was eventually given epidural, Na so I just dey lounge, logged into YouTube and started watching all the movies on my list. They kept on coming to check and monitoring my contractions. Eight hours after going into the hospital, I had my bouncing baby boy! That is the end of my story people! It has ended in praise!! So shall it be for all remaining bumping mamas. Amen. |
*clears throat *Grabs mic My bouncing baby boy is here! God alone be praised! Very uninteresting birth story. Was on YouTube watching sammu alajo throughout. Many thanks to epidural and the inventor of epidural ![]() |

Hello Fam, travelled via United to Houston last night and wanted to share my POE story. Travelled at 33+ weeks and had fit to fly from my doctor. One person asked for it at the check in and I showed him but no copy was retained. Even though flight was delayed due to catering strike at the airport, we eventually took off at midnight and flight was smooth. Got into Houston around 8.20am their time here and headed straight to immigration. People, Houston POE was a breeze for me! It was almost unbelievable considering all I read here about pregnant women being held hostage or kidnapped. Officer asked me when last I was in the US and I responded, asked me how long I spent, then asked what I came for and I told him childbirth. He repeated it to himself and asked how much I had with me and I told him but I also stated that I had prepaid my bills using Form A in addition to the amount I had with me. He asked for evidence and I showed him the invoice from the hospital, the email from my bank confirming payment via Form A to the hospital, telex copy of payment from my bank as well as receipt from the hospital showing I had no outstanding balance. Please note that I'm using doctoresparati and this raised absolutely no eyebrow. The guy just carry my passport and stamped me in till September. No secondary inspection, no custom check, just chilling chopping Chinese rice and awaiting my connecting flight just because? Oluwa is involved.... ![]() |
Miracletwinee:Dear Miracletwinee, Thank you very much for your post above. I ordinarily wouldn't reply but I need to state a few things clearly ma. 1. That something did not happen to you or someone you know does not mean it didn't happen. Yes, my friend owed almost 500k into her pregnancy and yes she was never disturbed. As a matter of fact I was the one keeping track and begging her to go pay. 2.Nobody pestered me for money while I also had my own cycle just that I like to pay for every service rendered to me without delay especially when delayed payment isn't necessary. 3. No, I'm not anyone's agent. I have a previous username here which I rested to maintain my anonymous nature. Using that username will make everyone know who I am clearly as news about me has made front page a couple of times. 4. IVF wasn't even recommended for me, Dr. Emeka wanted to try IUI but I just didn't want to be that patient. 5. To me personally, Doctor Emeka more than sold a service, his interpersonal relationship skills was on point. That said, I admire your courage over the years you had to wait. Wow! Two decades, 8 IVFs? God is indeed great. Kisses to your babies. |
rejoice03:I used it rectally. It was less messy with minimal discharge. |
Fvine:Really surprised at your experience with Doctor Emeka but I guess everyone's experience and perspective will always be different and affect our perception of things. Not to take away from your post but two things seriously surprised me in your post. First is the point about him being money focused and second is him convincing you of IVF. Really sad if true and very hard to believe for me especially because my friend and I had a very different experience. I used doctor Emeka August last year and honestly he never bothered me about payments which I made at my convenience. In fact, 12weeks into my friends pregnancy she still had an outstanding balance of almost 500k to pay and got no disturbance from him. I completely understand your point too as I have fibroid as well but I do not talk about it or see it as an issue simply because Doctor Emeka told me it wasn't an issue and I believed him. My fibroid is in addition to PCOS sef. Today, I'm more than 30weeks gone after my first IVF attempt with him. My friend also got her BFP on her first attempt after me at Olive Branch. Again, individual experiences which shape our perspectives differs. I'm happy to read your post which states the occurrence happened early 2015. If true, he's obviously a better person now as my experience was a great one. Can I also say thank you for waiting till now to share your experience? I'm saying thank you because I would probably not used him if you had come out to share your experience on time and that effectively means I would I've passed on the opportunity to get his excellent service and my baby at olive Branch. As someone here has mentioned, beyond reading experiences, do your own research. May God pick up the calls of all those about to conceive. Amen. |
Ronnie1984:Hi. Welcome here. I'm around in Elpaso April and May. I leave next month though... |
TheLeakyTribe:Did the transaction two weeks ago and I have a Stanbic account so I do not know the status for those who do not have Stanbic account. |
Onlineise:This was done the last week of January. That's about two weeks ago. |
firsttymum:I used Form A to pay for part of my fees in El Paso. Used Stanbic IBTC. Process was very fast. Deduction from my naira funded account was made the same day I requested. Hospital confirmed payment the next day. Rate used was 199.5. The only caveat at Stanbic is to make the request, fill the form, provide documentation and all before 3pm. Anything after 3pm means the transaction will be delayed till the next day. |
Gaily04:I'm gallant oh! ![]() |
brokewaist:Awww! I'm a Lagos based Elpaso bound May 2016 mama leaving March ending though. |
I'm a newbie too but honestly ucystan, this attitude or behaviour isn't really necessary. Sometimes, it's better to let some things slide. No need to spite or respond... ucystan: |
Sabi mamas, Abeg help me torchlight this issue oh! I renewed my visa via Dropbox last September when I was already pregnant. I have used the visa twice since then, once in October and again in November. The second time I used the visa, I was already showing and sent for secondary inspection at Atlanta where I declared the pregnancy but insisted my current visit wasn't for birth cos It wasn't. I was thereafter stamped in. I'm planning to travel for birth this March and I have emailed the consulate in Lagos as well as the embassy in Abuja of my intention to birth. Both have responded. The clarification I seek is on two points: 1. Is there any other thing I need to do to be on track or am I good to go? 2. Any advice for me? Thank you everyone. Big hugs to you for your labour of love... |
My experience so far at Gorges Memorial Medical Center. Kindly forgive my early morning rant Abeg... Before I start, please note that I'm not trying to bring down this hospital, I'm just simply sharing my experience so that other mamas considering them may know what they are up against. P.S: I have zero tolerance for poor service. After my pregnancy and I was referred to Georges for antenatal by my doctor who was also formerly at Georges before setting up his fertility hospital, I actually anticipated excellent services from them. So far, I've been very disappointed for several reasons! I did a booking blood test which showed my HB count was 10.7, a little below the recommended level. I picked up fergon supplement from the hospital two weeks after the test which I used for two weeks only for me to get called up one month after to come pick fergon supplement as a result of the previous booking blood test. This may not seem like a big deal but let me tell you why it is a big deal to me. Imagine I was unconscious and couldn't talk that I have used the drugs already, I would have been re-administered the drugs. Simply put, I can't trust them to make decisions on my behalf when I'm unconscious. Following the blood test, I kept on asking if there shouldn't be a new test to check my blood level and see if the drugs worked well. Georges kept saying oh they will do that at 32 weeks. Please note that I'm at 20weeks. After talking to my husband who said my eyes looked pale, I drove to the hospital and insisted on a test. Guess what? My HB level had dropped to 7.3!! ![]() That's when they started running helter skelta, prescribing me with fergon to be taken twice a day for one month. Now imagine I didn't insist on a test You feeling my rant now? ![]() I'm 20weeks gone and I've only had one tetanus injection and even when I had that the doctor mentioned that oh, he forgot and I should have had it earlier.... And the drugs.... Let's not even go there! They give you the cheapest version of all the drugs they can find despite the amount you pay. One look at the drugs I was using and my other doctor mentioned, 'you can't get the right amount of nutrient you need from this drug...' To mamas who have used them either for fertility treatment or antenatal, I'm still wondering how you coped. To others planning to use Georges, here are my tips for you: 1. Be prepared to pay heavily for little or no service rendered. 2. Be prepared to know about medicine, doctor yourself and be conversant with Google. 3. Be prepared to always seek second opinion for opinions they express. In other words, ensure you have one or two other doctors you can measure their opinion against. 4. Be prepared to always have to demand for good service. This may be a bit difficult if you aren't used to getting good service. 5. Finally be prepared to be overwhelmed with cheap drugs that will help reset your brain and make you question why exactly you are paying them heavily. |
nazablossom:Abeg register me oh. Team May... |
tanidabi:I agree with what most of what you have said in terms of customer's experience. I also do not think I have hindered anyone's right to free speech, expression, or power to make individual decisions in anyway. My response was: 1. Solely based on my personal experience with him. 2. I acknowledged the fact that people have different experiences with others like you rightly expressed. 3. Someone referred to people who use him as victims and I beg to differ based on my experience. Result is what matters and I have it. 4. To clarify that I am not in anyway an agent of anyone. I can't even be if they wanted to pay me for it... God used him for me because Blendy shared her experience with him here. I'm simply doing the same... |
Hi. Interesting things I'm reading there this afternoon. I used Dr. Emeka. This August actually and yes, it was excellent and amazing! I got my first BFP and it was my first attempt plus I got EXCELLENT service and I learnt about him from Blendy here. I don't know if he is a gynaecologist but I know I did my research on some of his qualifications on the Internet before I visited. I understand we all have different experiences with people but I was excited to share my experience with peeps looking to try it IVF here. I am still very excited to talk about Dr. Emeka and his work. My friend who had her procedure after me also got a BFP so hey, why shouldn't I be excited to share? P.S: I'm nobody's agent. I had a previous username on Nairaland with a history of some of my work and achievements which have made front page and that's why I opened this new id to protect my anonymous mode. |
everfaithfulGod:Thank you ma ![]() |
Fabmummy:Why do you want to spoil my runz naa? ![]() There's a reason I'm one leg in one leg out and it's simply to get double benefit from April and May ![]() No embezzle my goodies oh, otherwise Buhari's anti corruption train go reach this thread... |
zaynie:Hahahahahaha! It's not a bad thing to try my luck and see if I will get scholarship for registration fees nau. To born in April/May and take in again in June on top discount Kwa Mba! See settle me sharp sharp for corner now before I call the auditor oh. My eyes are on those your accounting books ![]() |
Hello everyone. Happy to join this group after weeks of ghost mode ![]() I no know whether to join Team April or Team May as LMP puts me in early May but my first scan puts me in late April. Anyway, I hope Team one leg in April One Leg in May 2016 is allowed ![]() I hereby apply for scholarship from the chief accountant, Snr Modath and FirstyMum to pay my registration dues ![]() I love the overflowing love in this group. God bless us all. Happy bumping!! |
Wokeyim:Can she hold on in Dubai for like 5days? It think it will be good if she can take a rest especially after the egg transfer before flying back. |
RipVanWink:I used Olive Branch and I can speak for their excellent service and personalised care. That's something they don't even joke with at all. I'm now with George's for antenatal but mehn the difference is clear. Time and time again I still go back to Olive Branch just to say hello and even the doctor will still call to find out how I'm doing. If I could make the choice for you, I would say Olive Branch ![]() |
oluwashindara01:You've raised some very serious points but I think at the end of the day you need to ask yourself if you have confidence in the doctor and their staff. I remember visiting omni before olive branch and I after the first visit, I was certain omni was not for me. TTC is hard enough, my doctor's attitude as well as that of the staff shouldn't make it harder plus fertility treatment is not small money oh so why should I short change myself? Olive branch was the bomb for me, doctor and staff are like family and mehn they rock! Don't know much about Regenisis but I will ask a friend who once visited the place too. All the best sis. May God direct your path. Amen. |
chichung91:Hi Chichung91. I recall seeing an access bank flier on some kind of funding or support for women undergoing fertility treatment. You can ask at your hospital cos I saw the flier at Olive Branch. I hope this helps... |
MercyofGod0:I remember visiting Google tire for tips just before my ET and even after. Personally, I chilled without stepping out of the house for five days. Did nothing other than pray, eat, watch TV and cook minor meals. I also started eating pineapple from the second day after ET. However, like Dr. Emeka says, everything is in the hands of God. There are people who have followed all the textbook tips without implantation. Wishing you all of God's favour sis. |
