You should consider targeting Social Services occupations when choosing a program.

In my opinion, you'll have a better chance of receiving an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence through Express Entry than if you pursue another master's degree in Mass Communication.

I am just being practical here. Some programs you could consider include:

Social Service Worker
Community and Justice Services
Child and Youth Care
Addictions and Mental Health
Developmental Services Worker
Behavioural Science
Community Support Worker

At the end of the day, everyone is free to make their own decision. I am simply sharing what I am seeing based on the current immigration and job market. If your goal is to study in Canada and eventually obtain permanent residence, these programs may put you in a stronger position than another Mass Communication degree.

Also, keep in mind that Social Services occupations is currently one of the category-based selection groups for Express Entry.

Do you simply want to earn a master's degree in Canada, or is your goal to get an education, work for a few years, and eventually apply for permanent residency (PR)?

If your plan is to work and then qualify for PR, I don't want to be harsh, but I do want to be honest with you. Media, Marketing, and Advertising are generally not programs that lead to jobs that qualify for many of Canada's category-based Express Entry draws. As I asked earlier, it really depends on what you want to achieve in Canada...

I am not discouraging you from coming to Canada. I just want you to do more research on programs that could better position you for success after graduation, especially if your long-term goal is employment and permanent residency.

As for cheaper schools, "cheap" is relative. What is affordable for you may not be affordable for me. However, in general, for master's programs, Memorial University is one of the most affordable universities in Canada

If you're looking at colleges, some of the more affordable are College of the North Atlantic, Lambton College, Fanshawe College, Bow Valley College

so do small research by yourself ask queations here people that know more than me are here also do not set yourself up to fail in the long run PLEASE

Yes, you can bring dependants if on a govt-funded scholarship. Not personal scholarship from the Commissioner.
Major scholarship programmes like Commonwealth, Fullbright, PTDF, Chevening.


The idea of bribing a politician to facilitate a scholarship like this...
You may end up wasting money without getting what you want.
So I'd just suggest you keep the whole endeavour straightforward from beginning to end and just do the MRes.
Don't give any agent room to forge a scholarship letter and just give you and earn you a 10-yr entry ban.

Good afternoon everyone, please I need a clear understanding on this issue I'm being told by one agent.
I intend to travel with my spouse, which I have been searching for an MRES program but I haven't been able to get one. Later the agent called to tell me that doing a research program is bit stressful over there and that I should consider the other alternative which is the part where the government will sponsor me so I can come in with my spouse, I argued with him due to information I have been able to gather here that it's not possible, but he was telling me we can do it.
Note, I'm not associated with any government neither do I know anyone in power at all but please is this actually real because he said he can help me run that so far I'm ready to spend some cash.

Please, help me out on this, is this possible because I haven't heard of anyone meeting a Minister or commissioner for a letter and we regard it as government sponsorship.

Any explanation on this will help me alot please My Ogas

Mine was 15,950 pounds....was given a 1500pound s scholarship.

As regards if dependents are allowed, I sent them an email and their response was..."as long as it's a research based course, you are allowed to come in with dependants"... Hopefully that turns out to be true as I also plan to move with just my spouse

Lastly, I believe PGWP is the same as post work permit.

If so, then yes, there is a 2yrs post work permit

Sincere apologies but I applied to the university of Wolverhampton but the same degree though

For my application, I was not asked to provide a research proposal/topic.... although we submitted a statement of purpose (which i believe is mandatory for all schools)

As regards IELTS, this was waived as they requested for work reference indicating that I communicate in English at my place of work

But please is there PGWP for MRES after the study? I'll also appreciate any link you can provide directly to Master's by Research courses please. I find it hard to navigate through.

Just the basic documents like transcript, degree certificate (usually 1st class to 2nd class lower), reference letter international passport.

However some school depending....may ask for extras like a research proposal for the intending topic you want to research on and any other document(s) that is reasonable to get to enable you to obtain your unconditional letter of admission.

In all you do, please do a detailed research on the school to see their requirements to get you well prepared

Please I don't know how a research proposal is being written and I don't know if you can help me with a template and was IELTS required between I saw around 12,k + per year for the 2years course but you posted 8k+.

It's a shengen country, so there are jobs for students and you can travel to bigger european countries to work and be back.

Please can anyone share insight on how to get the visa start and end date for my dependent child.

Scenario

I am currently filling out the form for the dependent visa for her and I have some areas that are not clear.

I mistakenly applied for her as a main applicant instead of as a dependant, however, the UKVI team reached out and asked me to re-apply using the appropriate form.
However, upon reapplying, I am faced with the challenge of when the start end date the visa was issued (as her current BRP is expired, which prompts the question "Evidence for not applying before your permission to be in the UK expired" and I indeed applied before the visa expired).
Please advise on how to resolve this as I have not been able to find a way to resolve this issue.
