i honestly think you should ask questions where necessary or you can as well ignore the comment. i actually requested Mr Ola (pumppie) and mr israel adediran (mr fish) to comment on this issue of whether 5m can be achieved within that space or not, the latter declined for very respectable reasons. both men are contemporaries and my mentor and foremost consultants. my self and many others have benefited greatly from mr ola's melange model which yields over 100% ROI. i think there are more subtle ways of making requests from people you don't just order them or come at them in such a tone just because this is internet. please kindly be mindful that you may not be the best professional in this field observing things on this thread, some don't even make comments. it is my desire to encourage such heavy weights to make comments so as to further grow this thread and help more people. so please if you have questions or need clarifications kindly and politely ask. regards.

not all thick tarpaulines are of fine quality. be sure of the quality. here in mushin (lagos) prices vary ranges from N1000/yard to N2000 depending on the quality.

Yes it's stated in the report that the best result was when the 2 was combined with the same ratio, but used individually, the difference i's negligible, hence does not justify the wide price margin, which BTW, has been my point all along.

nice one bro and i really get your point. the problem some of us farmers have is that we get too carried away with figures and we get fixated with just one way of doing things! d difference between both components as affecting outcome is not significant at all. so many researches out there that replaced fish meal with wonderful results. i have in d past replaced fish meal with cerelac waste with wonderful results too. another thing about result is that it varies and its a function of time(duration) and cost. some have replaced animal protein totally with plant protein(while increasing nutrients like methionine and lysine) and achieved targeted growth tho in a longer time. this argument brings to mind d issue of earthen/ concrete or plastic ponds and i just marvel at some of d responses cos its easy to say one is better than d other cos u use that and practice good management, but doesn't mean i will get same result. so i like it when we make points based on researches and what we practice without imposing our facts as if its the only way of doing things.... regards

there are so many factors you must consider before u make this decision. all ponds earthen, concrete have there pros and cons. i will advise that you thoroughly study and analyze this, to help you make your decision. for me, its really not about weather a system is better than the other, its about effectively utilizing your available system and resources to the fullest. you can give details about the challenges you are having so people here can help!! regards.

i'm very sorry but i think this distribution path for lagos is quite funny. agege(abbatior) is the bedrock of agro products in lagos ( at least that i know). it is quite funny when people in sango otta, ijaiye, abule egba, ifako ijaye and environs are expected to go to ikotun to purchace this product when the production coy is in ogun state. pls kindly attend to this.

Firstly, loosing over 500 fishes in 2weeks is 'crazily too much' so it could be as a result of d following;
1. The numbers were not up to what he claimed he counted.
2. Over stocking, hence d need to know d size of ur pond so u can stock at d recommended rate.
3. The breeder was probably under feeding the fishes( after all they are already booked).
And lastly, he didn't bother sorting them since they are already booked. And the truth is, no matter how similar they may look in size, fishes grow very fast at that stage and trust me 2 weeks is enof for the more aggressive ones to prey on some there by reducing ur numbers....

Please I have this concern, I had earlier booked 2000 juve with an hatchery while I was constructing my concrete pond and he told me he had set set aside 2150 for me. which he kept in one of his juve pond. I could not pick them up at the promised date because there was a 2wks delay due fixing problem of leakage and drainage in the new pond couple with finance.

When I finally went there to pick up the stock we could only count 1580 the rest had been lost to cannibalism, not that the fishes were so different in sizes, we complained bitterly that if we had came earlier he wouldn't have suffered that loss.

He said the place became small for them hence they began attacking themselves. I had to settle for the quantity he gave me which was 25% less than what I planned for.

My fear is that will this not continue in my pond as I cannot afford to lose so much!
