ABOUT five people died while four others sustained injuries of various degrees in multiple accident, which occurred at the old Tollgate in Otta, Ogun State in the early hours of Wednesday. Eyewitnesses said the first accident, which involved seven vehicles, occurred at about 12-midnight, while the second one, which involved five vehicles happened at about 6a.m. in front of Oando filling station at the border between Ogun and Lagos states. Although Mr. Ramoni Adekunle, a motorist, who witnessed the midnight crash said: “ I counted 18 dead bodies,” an official of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Otta, Leye Adegboyega, countered him. He told Daily Sun that only five bodies were recovered with four persons injured. Adegboyega, an Assistant Corps Commander, insisted that four victims died on the spot, while another died on the way to the hospital. The FRSC boss, who said he was on ground with his men for the rescue operation alleged that street urchins disturbed their operations but commended the effort of Sango Area Commander for instructing the Di visional Police Officer (DPO) in the area to draft his men to the scene of the crash for rescue operation to continue. While attributing the first crash to alleged brake failure of the truck coming from Sango end to Lagos, Adegboyega said the cause of the second accident was yet to be ascer tained. But, our reporter, who was involved in the second accident, said an articulated vehicle with registration, Lagos KRD 216 XB, conveying gravel to Lagos, ran into three cars and a commercial bus in which he was travelling. The worst hit cars were a Toyota car with registration, Lagos KTU 824 DS, whose owner, Mr. Idowu Ganiyu, escaped death by the whiskers. Ganiyu’s car had run into the bus in which our reporter was travelling and the impact forced the bus to head towards the canal where two vehicles, earlier involved in the acci dent, crashed. However, the bus was prevented from jump ing into the canal by one of the buses marked Oyo BDJ 413 XA, believed to be conveying yam tubers to Lagos. www.sunnewsonline.com/new/5-die-4-injured-in-multiple-accident-in-otta/

Following Tuesday’s bomb blast in Yola which claimed many
lives, Gov. Mohammadu Jibrilla has announced an indefinite
ban on night markets in the state capital.
Jibrilla made the announcement on Wednesday in an interview
with newsmen in Yola.
He said the ban was part of decisions taken at an emergency
security meeting at Government House, Yola.
He said all business premises that attracted crowds, particularly
night markets, were expected to close by 6 p.m.
The governor urged those affected to show understanding as
such measures became necessary in order to save lives and
property.
Shedding more light on the ban, the Commissioner for
Information, Malam Ahmad Sajoh, said relaxation points,
particularly those that gathered crowd, would also be affected
by the ban.
Sajoh said security operatives would assess the situation and
take necessary measures to contain the security challenge.
He said government would increase security awareness
campaigns while a Submit would soon be organised for
stakeholders including religious and traditional rulers on
measures to check the security challenge. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/blast-adamawa-govt-bans-night-markets-in-yola/ |

There are indication that President Muhammadu Buhari has
ordered the arrest of the former National Security Adviser, Col
Sambo Dasuki (retd).
Operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, has
continued to lay siege to the Abuja residence of the former
NSA, against the directives of a Federal High Court.
Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had
on Friday reacted angrily to the siege on Mr. Dasuki’s house
despite an earlier ruling he gave permitting the retired colonel
to travel abroad for medical treatment .
“My own orders will not be flouted” the judge said on Friday,
while re-iterating his stance that the former security chief be
allowed to travel for medical treatment.
Details soon. www.vanguardngr.com/2015/11/buhari-orders-arrest-of-ex-nsa-sambo-dasuki/ |

I had just moved out of my parents house and was sharing a room with my "friend". I had no idea he smoked weed, despite his suspicious movements and signature weed scent (abi na odour?). Barely two weeks after moving in with him, my worst fears were confirmed as he started bringing home his weed smoking buddies and they would occasionally roll a wrap and smoke it right there in the room or mix the weed with beans or spaghetti. Being a very curious person I always wondered what made them happy after smoking, so I decided to find out for myself (wrong move). It was a very hot day, a Saturday I think it was, my friend was out as usual. I searched everywhere for his stash but couldn't find it so I decided to go and get mine. I arrived the weed joint all sweaty and nervous, half expecting to get mugged but nobody seemed to be aware of my presence there, they were all on different planets all expect one I concluded that he must be the seller so I approached him and the following conversation ensued: Me: how far? Weed seller: I dey Me: I wan buy weed Weed seller: how many parcel? Me: parcel ke? Iro oo, na just small i need Weed seller: laughs really hard. bolo leleyi sha (meaning this guy is a dunce oo) Apparently, a parcel of weed is that small wrap, I didn't know that. I thought it was something very large. I gave him 1000naira and he gave me a tiny wrap of weed with a white paper, I was surprised when he gave me 950 as change. I couldn't believe weed was that cheap. On my way home, I decided not to smoke it but mix it with beans because I thought that it will be better that way (another wrong move). Long story short, I cooked beans and added the whole weed, ate it and called my friend, I told him ogbeni, I just ate weed oo and nothing happened to me this one that you people will eat and be feeling funky, I don chop am oo. My friend was like, ehen you be strong man oo. I decided to take a quick nap before doing laundry, I woke up about 20 minutes later on the floor, I was banging my head on the floor, and I couldn't stop, my heart beat was so audible and fast, everything was extra bright and extra loud. After a few minutes of head banging, I was able to get up from the floor, I felt as if I had just gained access to a part of my mind that I never knew existed previously. It was scary and cool at the same time. I could feel the blood flowing in my veins (you have to experience it to believe it. Though I strongly advise against it). I felt so uncomfortable in the room, it felt like I was in an oven. Suddenly, a voice in my head wisphered ogbeni bo aso e joor (off your clothes), I obeyed. The voice came again oya sa re (now run). That was when I realized that the weed had taken effect, so I decided to take a shower to see if it will calm me down, but the water felt so hot on my skin so hot I ran out of the bathroom. I called my friend to see if he could help me make sense of what was going on but he laughed at me, he asked me the quantity of weed I took and I told him I used a whole parcel, he said guyyyyy you don eff up! If you no sleep in the next 30mins, you go mad oo. Go chemist make you go explain yourself. By this time things had escalated, I had a severe itch at the back of my head that wouldn't go away no matter how hard I scratched and I was convinced that the beating in my chest was an evil spirit that could only be killed with a punch. I ran to my neighbor - Champion and told him, Champion e jo e fun mi lese laya(champion pls punch me in the chest). ti e ba gbami lese laya mo ma ku oo (if you don't punch me I will die oo). He hissed and walked out having had enough of such nonsense from the boys in the boys quarters. The voice in my head came again - iwo na o de gba ara e lese laya abi o ti fe ku ni (why don't you punch yourself in the chest or do you want to die?) I punched and punched but there was no difference. The house was getting hotter, the voice in my head was getting louder, the itch in my head was getting worse, and the evil spirit in my chest was getting louder. Then came the voice again - oya ma sare lo (start running). So I started running but on getting outside in the sun, I felt so cold I was shivering but that didn't stop me from running (I would have given Usain Bolt a run for his money on that day). On getting to the chemist, i realized I was bare footed, I told him I had a severe headache I needed something to make me sleep immediately. He gave me the drug and I chewed it right there in his presence. Next I asked him to give me a drug for evil spirit, that was when he realized something was wrong with me and chased me out. I got back home and tried to sleep but my heart beat wouldn't let me, so I ran back out this time around to a nurse in the area, first thing she asked was - kilode o wo bata ni? (why don't you have your shoes on? I told her Jackie Chan ti gba bata lowo mi (Jackie Chan collected my shoes). I was finally able to explain my situation to her and she took me in, tied something around my elbow and injected me directly in the vein. I passed out immediately only to wake around 1 or 2am in the middle of the night with the worst kind of hunger I have ever felt in my life. I ate a whole loaf of butter field bread in one sitting without butter or tea. I came home to a hero's welcome, my friend told me e be like say your head no carry am but e go better make you try am once more so you go dey use to it. The following day while the house was empty, I packed my Ghana must go and like the prodigal son in the bible I went back home to my parents. It's been a few years since that experience but the lesson I learnt is an unforgettable one. My curiosity hasn't gotten me in trouble again and my circle of friends have since changed. www.lailasblog.com/2013/12/guy-shares-his-experience-with-weed.html?m=1 |

My friend has been dating his girl for almost 24
months. A powerfully romantic relation. Sharing and
caring. And as soon as they start thinking of
concluding and legalising the entire arrangement,
here comes the question: What is your blood
genotype? Both were AS!
Because of the love they had shared and the
promising happy future they had dreamed of
together, they wouldnt want this to stop them. They
were in love and nothing would stop this, not even
possible childlessness. But the families won't just
agree. Especially the girl's family.
"You can't marry our daughter if you are both AS!"
Devastated, the guy was helpless. What should he
do next? He's about losing the love of his life. Any
way out? |

Supporters of the detained Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu have taken to the streets of Onitsha in their thousands to protest his continued detention by the Department of State Security. The protesters, who are members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), reportedly blocked the entrance and exit of the Niger Bridge linking Onitsha in Anambra State to Asaba in Delta State. One of the protesters was allegedly shot dead by soldiers trying to prevent them from extending their protests to Asaba, using the bridge. According to reports just filtering in, the protest is still in earnest. http://www.theheraldng.com/one-feared-dead-as-nnamdi-kanus-supporters-protest-in-onitsha-photos/

Can you marry him/her without your

Most times when we walk into big malls,
boutiques, supermarkets, we never question
their prices. We pay exactly what we see on the
price tags and even hand out tips to the
staff. But the moment we are out of these shops
and want to buy banana, our bargaining game
gets off to the roof. Poor widow with 12 hungry
children at home tells you banana is N100. She
even takes out her time to explain how difficult it
was for her to even buy it, how the economy is
so tough. But we insist that if it's not N50, we
are not paying. Some of us even step back into
our cars and make to drive away. But because
'half bread is better chin chin', this woman is
forced to call you back and sell to you at little or
no gain. In her heart, she cries, she's worried
about how she'll survive with her children. She
silently reassures herself that 'It's well.God will
definitely provide.'' While you happily chop the
luscious banana. Take some seconds out and
think about this, guys. Am always moved to
tears when I see people who genuinely and
helplessly hawk petty goods to feed and survive
for that day, especially women and children.
Please don't bargain hard with small vendors
like this. They do business not to buy designer
bags, Gucci shoes and designer clothes but to
LIVE and EAT for that day and the children share
the remaining money among themselves to take
to school the next day (that's if there's any left).

A Nigerian schoolgirl, Victoria Yohanna, was invited by the House of Lords, the second chamber of UK Parliament, to narrate her terrifying ordeal during one of the biggest ever mass abductions carried out by the Boko Haram sect. Victoria Yohanna will tell House of Lords of brutal Boko Haram attack According to The Telegraph, a 15-year-old girl was one of more than 400 people abducted by the terrorists during an attack on the north-east Nigerian town of Baga in January. Today, October 13, Victoria, who managed to escape, will recount her experiences to an audience at the House of Lords. The event will mark the launch of a major new report on the persecution of Christians worldwide, which has been compiled by the charity Aid to the Church in Need. It is the first time when one of Boko Haram’s thousands of schoolgirl victims has travelled to the UK to narrate her horrible ordeal. Speaking to journalists ahead of the report’s launch, Victoria told how she was abducted along with her mother and five siblings when insurgents attacked her hometown just after New Year. “We heard shooting and the sound of bombs in the early hours of the morning, and at first I thought it was the Nigerian army trying to protect us. Then I realised it was Boko Haram. Those Boko Haram members whose duty is to take women and children for their caliphate took our entire family and made us walk on foot to one of their camps,” she said. Victoria recalled that en route she saw numerous corpses of people who had been killed and beheaded by terrorists. Then she spent two weeks at a Boko Haram camp in the outskirts of Baga. “Every morning they took the hostages for training at Islamic school. They would say the Koran is the religion God had for you,” she added. The girl revealed that she was able to fool the militants into thinking she was a Muslim by pretending to perform the “buta”. Although there were Muslim captives among the hostages who knew she was a Christian, they did not give her away. One night, when terrorists went out to kidnap more people, Victoria and the rest of her family managed to escape from the camp. “I knew what had happened to the Chibok schoolgirls and was very scared. Were it not for God we would probably all be dead by now,” she said. Victoria has been accompanied to the UK by Father Gideon Obasogie, a priest from Maiduguri. Victoria has been accompanied to the UK by Father Gideon Obasogie, a priest from Maiduguri, where she is now living. He recalled that when he met the girl for the first time, she found it impossible to narrate her ordeal without breaking down in tears. “The church has been trying to organise counselling sessions for these victims of Boko Haram. Simply offering them confessional is not enough,” he noted. Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has recently hosted the United Kingdom’s Chief of Defence Staff , General Nicholas Houghton. The president told the top security chief that Nigeria still needs more support from the British government in its quest to defeat the terrorists. https://www.naij.com/601257-read-uk-parliament-invited-15-year-old-schoolgirl-nigeria.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=255422597978832&utm_group=6031522681227
