Initially the Fulani ruling elites insisted that herdsmen must have access to lands everywhere and rights to forage on any lands. The problems of herdsmen destroying other people's farm lands, crops and the crimes committed in raping, kidnapping, robbing and killing can only be solved by the Federal Government. It should allow the Nigerian Police to enforce Open Grazing Prohibition Laws passed by affected states and assist the northern states to build Rugas for herdsmen and encourage them to ranch their cattle in the Rugas. Cattle farming is a business as other livestock farming. But with a one sided sympathy for the Fulani herdsmen, the Federal Government is undermining the unity of the country.
