Nigerians are so dumb. Cant you all see that, thats not a secondary school uniform. How many secondary school kids wven in private school appear so well arranged in that manner? Thats a higher institution uniform most likely a school of health science.

Those guys were already at least 20 years old when they took the first picture.

There isnt a lot of significant change for two out of the four guys in the picture. And from the look of things, they havent really made money. Its matter of the picture angle and relativity.

EducationRe: JSS 2 Student Stabs School Prefect In Calabar For Wearing Wrong Stocking by hector: 2:25pm On Jul 23, 2021
NaijaCoverBlog:
Update From . COM

Senior Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Education, Mr Castro Ezama has decried high level of moral decadence and increasing cultism in Secondary and Primary schools in Cross River State, Reports.

Ezama stated this on Tuesday, July 20, after a JS 2 student stabbed an SS 3 student in one of the public schools in Calabar, the state capital, Understand.

It was gathered by , that the school prefect identified as Joseph Umoren told the junior student (name withheld) to correct his stockings but the latter conived with his gang and stabbed the former in the neck.

According to Ezama, the injured student, who was rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH nearly lost his life if not for the prompt intervention of teachers, security agencies and health officials, Reports.

Speaking to newsmen during his visit to Prof. Boniface Odey, Chairman, National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, Cross River State chapter in Calabar, Ezama said there is so much moral decadence in the educational system.

"There’s a high level of moral decadence amongst our school children. In the course of interacting with them I realised that some of them at home drink alcohol, they are served alcoholic beverages. And of course, we know that giving alcoholic beverages to children that are younger than age 18 is not acceptable. There are advertorials everywhere. Of course, we know the far-reaching health implication," he stated.

"Secret cults have penetrated our secondary schools and even some of our primary schools. Just recently in one of our secondary schools, a prefect of a school was stabbed because he asked the junior student to take off his wrong stockings. He got his boys around and they stabbed him on his jugular. It took the intervention of the school management, my office, security agencies and the health officials of UCTH to put that boy to live, and we thank God that the boy is alive,"

"I think that if we go about bringing parents on board where we have resource persons, government officials get to talk to our parents on the need for them to be more vigilant at home in taking care of their wards and children – it will go a long way to eradicating the antisocial activities we now find."

Responding, Prof. Odey, NAPTAN Chairman, Cross River State promised the Special Adviser on Education that the parents will sit up to ensure social vices are being eradicated in schools.

"We parents have problem on how to handle our children at home because if we have done properly well, these problems we have in schools will not come up. We are promising you we will sit up as parents to make sure the vices we are having in our schools today are no more in no too distant future from now" he sad.

Chai..this boy came to live (Eyen dia ka, ke akere uwem). That spot on the victim's neck has some very dangerous blood vessels like the internal carotid and common carotid vessels, most which are superficially laid. Any Puncture to any of those arteries will only take luck to survive. What is really happening to these youngsters nowadays, has secondary school become this bad?

Uyai
Ekanem
Andikan
Nkoyo
Ekong
Essien
Daraima
Ukeme
Idara

Uwana

Thanks!!!
In Ibibio
1.Uyai means beauty.

2. Ekanem in expanded form is eka anem,
meaning mother is sweet or good.

3. Andikan means he who wins.

4. Nkoyo means literally "I have wondered and prevailed or "I have Waka" lol, It is usually given to a child on account of the mother's suffering while wondering about in search of a child. So when the child comes, the child could be named "Nkoyo" meaning "I wondered about until I had this child"

5. Ekong means "war". A child born out of a tussle or war. It symbolizes victory and conquering.

6. Essien means in the open land, space or lineage Of the people or place where the person is given birth to. It is given to someone to showcase that he is of a pure stalk of the place where he hails from.

7. Daraima simply means rejoice for love.

8. Ukeme means ability, capability or competence.

9. Idara means joy.

10. Tima or Toyoima means remember love.

11. Unwana means light.

I stand to be corrected though. My dad and mum are custodians of Ibibio language. I teach Ibibio.

I haven't registered yet for the exam because someone advised me to prepare very well before I consider registering for the the exam. According to him if I register now, I may put myself under pressure to prepare for the exam and maybe I may not be adequately prepared before the date of the exam comes. This is the first time I will be enrolling for this exam. I need it for admission purposes.

Please kindly give me suggestions on how to prepare for the exam so I can have a really high score. Also, should I consider going for physical classes or I should just read materials? If you know how I can get materials (good materials) for free or for a token, please drop the links; I will really appreciate! or send it to my email (etukvictoe@gmail.com). What do you think?

Currently I live and work in Tunisia (Offshore Mediterranean Sea). The people here love Nigerians and they tell you of their love for Okocha, Kanu and Yekini, babangida and some other footballers that have played for Esperence of Tunis and few others in other clubs in Tunisia.
Since its a multinational setting, the British guys and some Europeans that live in Thailand or Indonasia always talk about the email scam jobs from Shell they receive from Nigeria. Our brothers and their drug business and south east asia. Its embarassing but I laugh it off. Its really a bad image some of us have sold abroad but doesn't make us all bad. I defend our position regardless.
Tunisia is a nice north african country and the people are accomodating but poor economy due to corrupt politicians just like our Nigeria. I noticed some problems we have is called AFRICA. Nonetheless, you still have lots of international students from other africa coming to school here in Tunis.
The RCCG church is filled with students from other african countries and few indigenes. Nice holiday resorts in Sousse and gulf of Hammamet. Nigerians are accepted here......come if like but get a good job or else, you go cheechomchin.
Nice. Please how can I get a good job there.? What skill set or profession can get me a good job in Tunisia, mbok I need your reply.

It's all relative. To some, $270 (120K naira) may not be a lot, however it could be for others. The fact that he works in IT does not mean much. Yes, IT pays well, but he could also have tons of bills to pay, he is saving up for something, etc. As someone mentioned, one can live off of that for a month in some locations. May be you could ask how much he can afford to give you, and then find other means to make up the difference.
Thank you for this comment. I think this is the most sensible comment from this post!

Thank you to every other person who made their contribution. I have gotten my answer from this person!

Honestly, it should not matter if $270 is big here, and what it can buy. The bottom line is, he told you he can't afford what you are asking, period! After all it's HIS money.
I didn't come here to know if the money is big alone. I want to know the purchasing power of that money over there. It helps me understand certain demographics and the state of their economy.

It really doesn't matter if $270 is big or small. It is HIS money and he has told you he can not afford to give you that much.

Stop feeling entitled to someone else's money.
Why can't you read and understand? U just crop one paragraph out to justify your point. When did asking a question or seeking answers so as to know more about the economy of the US become a sense of entitlement. U people just like insulting people on nairaland just to draw attention and make yourself popular for an unnecessary reason. Please leave my thread alone, abeg.

270 is actually a very big amount. It depends on his income and what he’s budgeting his money on. We can’t just easily jump into conclusions.

What if you’re not part of his budget for this month
When u say "270 is actually a very big amount" I will like you to expatiate.

The American I'm talking about is also native, some do take loans it might be for school purpose, montage, car installmental pay etc. But still i feel 250 dollars shouldn't be a big deal if he wanted to help,i feel he doesn't want to help you nd don't be surprised ten other people are asking him for help that's what these people face so i do understand them sometimes hence the reason i only ask money from my boyfriend.
