CareerRe: Isaac Adewole: Not All Medical Graduates Must Practice, Some Can Be Farmers by hector: 1:37pm On Sep 22, 2018
contigiency:
All these ranting calling the man all sorts of unprintable names is just what I don't understand. What the man said is just very much in order.

Don't other graduates who even studied more than the over hyped Doctors farm? Please, there are many PhD holders everywhere in the world who are farmers. The ministers' advise is not bad at all. A lot of people spend up to 12years studying up to PhD and later deviate from what they have studied. That is why you have Lawyers, Accountants, Doctors, Engineers, surveyors, etc all going into politics instead of only practising what they have studied. Else, politics should have been left for those who studied political science and public administration.

Although, I know that some people's view on this discussion is out of ignorance. Because I have read where some are saying, after 7years, how can the person drop the certificate and take up hoes and matchet and go to farm. They forgot that farming has gone far beyond that level even in many rural communities today. Again, they should also see farming beyond just cultivation of land for food. How many hospitals are up to the level of any of the Dangote farms be it sugar, floor, rice etc in terms of wealth and other indices? So Any graduate can make a far better decent living out of farming if he so desire to do so. its a matter of choice.
God bless u

FamilyRe: Why Are Fathers Under-appreciated? by hector: 9:58pm On Aug 22, 2018
some fathers no be am...someone should judge this case for me please and tell me if i am wrong.

My mom came back from the US of recent after spending some time with my elder sis. She stayed in my place and she brought with her two iphones. after I had tried to do some work on the iPhone so we can use it here in Nigeria, the guy who helped us to do it finally brought it back. My Dad quickly collected one of the phone's that was working and told my mum over three times, not to give it to anybody even after noticing I had interest in one of the phones.

I was a bit uncomfortable with the statement coz it was as if he was directing it to me. Meanwhile he was busy asking me to come and show him how to operate the phone. So I got up and told him I didn't like it. I asked him these questions, Is it wrong for my mom to give me her property? Isn't she my mum, don't I have a right to enjoy what is hers? why tell her not to give it to anybody repeatedly?

My elder sis who was there began to tell me I should shut up that my dad is in a better position to enjoy my mum's property than me. I was disappointed and i asked her out of my house. i felt her statement was wrong. She was biased and wasn't saying the truth. mum didn't say anything.

My dad is fond of trying to stop my mum from helping me many times even when I was in school. He doesn't earn any money and would not be happy that my mum is helping him provide for his family.

I can buy an iPhone if i want but I am angry because I feel my father should allow me enjoy my mother's generosity the same way my father enjoyed that of his aged mum when the woman was alive.
EducationRe: University Of Calabar Lecturer Gives Coke To His Students During Lecture by hector: 11:39am On Aug 19, 2018
Corrinthians:
Chai, paddy, you fall my hand!

There's nothing good about this gesture if the explanation of the op as per the reason the drinks were given the students is anything to go by.

How can one ADD SUGAR TO A SYSTEM THAT IS DEHYDRATED? shocked shocked

Do you know why people stranded in an ocean can die of thirst? It is because they can't afford to add salt to their system. The laws of osmosis forbids that. Adding salt or sugar to a system that lacks water (dehydrated system) dehydrates the system even more!

Well, I'm sure the lecturer only did it as a kind gesture to the students and not to keep them hydrated. You don't hydrate by taking more sugar. wink
Shut up and stop sounding like you are intelligent coz u are not. Coca cola soft drinks have a lot of water. in fact up to 60 to 70 percent water. Therefore those drinks can hydrate. The sugar in it cant overrule the high percentage of water..so leave that osmosis details u are talking about coz u know nothing about it.

Your forefathers, not mine who engaged in homosexuality. My own forefathers had many wives. If they were homosexuals, I wouldn't have been born. Besides, homosexual is natural and is the result of a curious and reprobate mind.
You sound ignorant. Who told you married men or polygamous men can't have an affair or be sexually drawn to other men? U need to do some homework on this matter. Ignorance kills..

I have never seen a people so stupid, self-destructive and inferior like those ruling Akwa Ibom State.

There is no state in Nigeria where monies of the state are handed over willy-nilly to lawyers who're not from that state. Most states' monies are spread to citizens of the state. But in Akwa Ibom, it seems non-indigenes of the state benefit the most from that states' funds.

The people of Akwa Ibom MUST rise up and stop this anamoly, otherwise, their wealth and welfare will continue to be handed over and stolen by yoruba SANs.

The Ijaws stopped this nonsense. It is time Akwa Ibom stop giving their monies to people from other states, and instead use it to develop the state.
shut the fxck up and stop spewing trash.

Good for them. Let them enjoy the fate they chose.
Trust me they didn't. who would choose to engage in something that nearly the whole world frowns at.? something he or she can't be proud of.. Something that u have to hide in the closet to do. Something that places a risk on your life, your future and can even ruin your relationship with people. Only an insane person will be a homosexual willingly. it's surely beyond what meets the eye.

From history, Homosexuals have been around for thousands of years now. No one knows exactly how long so it's not a new thing. Even in Africa, i am sure some of our forefathers engaged in it mayb in secret but no written history to inform us on that.

People shouldnt discriminate on or hate gay people because i am sure a lot of them would want to be straight if they had the choice to do so. As christians we should pray for them the way we would pray for everyone who engages in sin.

aribisala0:
I do not think it is called "self esteem". That is a mischaracterization.

If you put a price on yourself and the market cannot or will not pay then that price is not realistic.
Ultimately the money does not come from the producers but the consumers. If producers pay her what she believes she is worth and they do not make profit then they will stop paying because the market does not support it.
If she wants to quit she can quit and move on but the word "afford" is not right in my opinion. The reality is that she is overpriced. Who is the judge? THE MARKET. The market NEVER lies.
No matter how "highly" you price yourself if someone is willing to pay that price somewhere then you are worth it. If no one is prepared to pay it then you are overpriced and that is why some industries shut down in some countries.

How many people who watch Nollywood movies pay one naira to watch these days? So where will the producers get the money.
Market is the final arbiter of value

I have used the toilet again this morning. My stool is very loose, although small. I have to sleep, I feel tired.
HealthMy stomach...Doctors Please Help!! by hector(op):
My stomach has been making rumbling and gurgling sound since yesterday. There is no pain, no bloating or any other discomfort apart from minor flatulence. i woke up 4am this morning due to the discomfort from the rumbling in my stomach. i had to go use the toilet to see if i will have some relieve but there is no much difference. My stool was loose although not plenty coz i didnt eat much yesterday.

What I ate yesterday were three doughnuts, boiled egg, which I only took half and gave the other half to my colleague and i drank bottle water. when I came back in the afternoon I ate rice and stew which I prepared the previous day but I didn't eat much because I wasn't really hungry or perhaps I didn't feel like eating rice, I can't really tell the reason.

Before now, like two weeks ago, I had diarrhoea which lasted for like a month. I was confused coz i didnt have money and there was no time to see a doctor coz i was writing exams, so I went for HIV test and came out negative. A pharmacist prescribed some medications; mainly antibiotics and some antidiarrheoa medications, which I took and the symptoms disappeared after a few days. The symptoms I had then were; very loose and smelly stool, stomach noise, farting excessively and weakness after using the toilet. There was no bloating, pain or any other discomfort.

Please kindly help me with exactly what I should do. I wish I can go to the hospital but I am down on cash at the moment.. I am even scared of eating so as not to worsen the situation.
