Religion / Re: How Can I Read The Bible Well? by hectorsector: 9:50pm On Sep 08, 2013
Reading the bible like a novel or textbuk is not bad at all. The bible is full of power and spirit that it influences anyone who reads it constantly. U don't have to struggle to understand.
It is good to read thru the entire bible not just once but continuosly for life.
Oyedepo was asked how he manages to quote scriptures verbatim, he relied that he eats the word. Keep reading it until it becomes a habit. Information is the first step to understanding because you must know before you understand. If you're a beginner in word study, i advise you use a devotional...ODM is good. There also many other great devotional resources. Use them and be consistent. When you do it for a year, you'll be shocked that you must have gone thru the entire bible. Then that could fuel the desire to read cover to cover.
I wish success.

The blame goes largely to our leaders past, the british doctored colony of divide and rule plus the narrow minded military. We (active population) take only 10 percent of that blame. Don't make it look any worse by showing us those photos. The 5 percent of Nig. That looks like Qatar is still larger than Qatar.
Maybe try comparing India, china and Nigeria. This contries are richer than us and also poorer than us. More than half of india (about 700million people) have never seen electric bulb in their lifetime or ever taken a clean drinking water yet we talk about India.
This comparism is declared null and void.
Bro just leave the matter. It lacks merit.
Don't inflict more pain on us with this than we're already bearing.

Let him that think he stands, watch lest he fall. Smart people don't really see themselves as smart. They are just focused and determined people.

Plz, abeg, mbok, biko, lets publish facts only not comedy. Comedy should be restricted to the jokes session. This is incredulous.

Health / Re: The Effects Of Cheating Ourselves Of Sleep by hectorsector: 10:47am On Jul 03, 2013
The problem with advice is you never know if its a good or bad one until you do what it says. But we can learn from others. Highly successful people sleep less including the researcher that published this work. Anyway, mark Twain said all generalizations are false including this one. If you heed to this advise, by the time you're 60, you'd have slept for 20yrs (at night aloneooh). How about the times for unproductive chats, walkabouts, movies, bathing, eating, playing etc?You see why people are poor now? Many are existing not living and sleep is o such factors that cause this.

Politics / Re: Jonathan's Approval Rating Remains Constant At 44% by hectorsector: 8:06am On Jul 03, 2013
The truth is that such statistics can be faulted just like any other research in Nigeria due to some serious factors that can't be solved in a day. Factors like literacy level, which is poor. Because it takes an educated public make such judgement. We still have a lot of educated peoople who are not enlightened especially in such issues as politics therefore they can't make sound judgement though they are educated.
The statistics could be true based on its process but wrong based on reality.
Jonathan has done very well that many Nigerians that know of. But because he's not all over the papers like his predecessors and the fact that our press does not report accurately rather only negatives that sell their papers, many average people which is from where the sampe majority of such statistics is taken from won't realy know of such achievements.
Lets think broadly and multi sectorially eg. Power, energy, transport, aviation, labour, housing, governance, infrastructure, structural and systematic reforms, economy etc. Check the records and judge faithfully.
Consider capital and long term projects like power whose benefits don't just come by in months and years. After this, let me hear the scores. For me, he's above 65 percent.

#sorry for the lengthy post# winks...

This didn't start with Jonathan. He just followed convention. Jonathan is the most democratic President of Nigeria in modern democracy. This will be a test for him. Its in this kind of tenure that such proceedings will be allowed to take place without interuption or internal boycotting. The civil airspace is free, every can make use of it. Keyamo knows this. Brilliant lawyer... Good president...Great Nigeria.

Politics / Re: Is Vision 20-2020 Realistic??????????? by hectorsector: 10:03am On Jul 02, 2013
Best economy isn't the same as largets economy. Vision 2020 is to be amongst the best not largest 20. Nigeria is 39th largest economy with 162m people and 7th most populous nation while SA is 28th with 45m people. Who is at lose here? Nigeria offcourse.
Best economies are rated according to ease of doing business in the country not size of economy, and by that ranking Nigeria is 131 out of 185 countries. Too bad! So you see where we need vision 2020? Moving from 131 to 20 out of 185 not from 39 to 20. This is is the real challenge.
It is possible to make such quantum leap but a semi-revolution is needed. Power and energy must be addressed properly then the economy will tip. Tipping, thats what we need. Tick-tuck...time is running.

We lack leaders indeed.

Read seven habits of highly effective people by stephen R. Covey, power of positive thinking by Norman Vincent Pearle, good to great by Jim Collins and the world is flat by Thomas L. Friedman, you can do it by John Mason...
All these will open up your thinking to a global thinker...
Goodluck.
