If you're in Abuja, I would suggest you stop by at the embassy. I had this issue with my visa also. I submitted my appeal on the 18th of July and I didn't get any call till the 3rd of October. Apparently, my visa was ready since the 27th of August but, according to them, they couldn't reach me (which is impossible cause I kept calling them and sending emails) and that I should have come to the embassy when I didn't hear from them after a month. All the best with your appeal. Yemiiee: |
I think you're covered. I had issues with my visa application because of my payslip but then I asked my employer to state my income and the tax I pay and the rest is history. Tolu1411: |
It's been a while I was on this thread. It's good to be back. @ICASNG. Thanks for all the support! You're the real deal. Anyone resuming in January? |
ICaSNg:I'm glad this misunderstanding has been resolved. It's all love from this end. ![]() |
Orofun1:Please did they state in your offer letter how much you are to pay? I know the fee for MSc GIS is 12,500 euros, I'm trying to find out if they allow part payment or you are required to pay in full. Thanks |
pristine88:Is it that difficult to get accommodation? Is this restricted to Dublin or is it also difficult in other smaller cities? |
ICaSNg:Lol, forgive him. He doesn't know you're a Miss....or is that Mrs?? |
ICaSNg: No mind us (even tho I'll slide to one side and exempt myself)We should get you a bottle of your favorite drink. You've been truly helpful. |
lekibraky:No one said anything about not getting the post study visa if you study at Griffith. The person was ASKING about DBS. Your post didn't even answer the person's question. Besides, I don't think there was need to ask the school rep if you qualify for the post study visa. You should find out the requirement and if you qualify. Even if you're going to ask him, you should have asked if his school is QQI certified, that's all the information you needed. |
MissCee:You might have to do some more research on DBS, don't know much about it. I know it's not among the 7 Irish Universities and I'm not certain if it's covered by QQI. Update: Just checked again, it appears all their programmes (at DBS) are accredited by QQI. I guess you're good to go. |
Chinlov:Like you said, you’re not allowed to go with your spouse or child(ren). There are however a few exceptions- if you’re going for a PhD. You’ll find the information you need here: https://www.icosirl.ie/eng/student_information/students_with_children.html |
MissCee:Get a masters or 1 more years work experience or both + 1 year work experience will give you about 430 something masters will give you about 450 something both will give you about 470 something Wish you luck |
uckennety:What is possible exactly? Applying for an undergrad at age 28? or switching from masters to undergrad? If you're so confident it's possible then you shouldn't bother asking anyone, you should just go ahead and apply! Honestly, I'd suggest you send a mail to the university that offers a masters in the course you want (construction management) asking if you can apply. Make understand how much passion you have for the course and the experience you have. this is where the strong SOP comes in. I think that's your best bet if you're looking to go to Ireland. I don't think their immigration laws are as flexible as that of the US. |
uckennety:Oh ok, you're looking to change from Mass Comm to Construction Management. Do you have any work experience in the latter?? I think that and a very strong SOP are the only things that would increase your chances of getting admission and a visa. Frankly, it's going to be hard oh, you have to explain why you're doing that switch(it's big leap from arts to science/engineering). You'll also have to prove that there is no school in Nigeria that can offer you the course you want (or at least why you're not selecting any of the schools here offering the course). You know if you're applying for a masters then you have to declare your undergrad, there's no 2 ways about it. I also doubt it possible for you to switch from a masters to an undergrad...it's highly unlikely, if not impossible. Do I know for sure if it you'll be successful? No, I don't. You can look for other options tho |
uckennety:I don't understand. Why are you bent on doing an undergrad?? I'm assuming you have a bachelors already, so why do you want to apply for a masters and then switch back to undergrad? Help us better understand the position you're in |
@pristine88 You are in Ireland yh? (If I'm not mistaken) Please give us an update on what it's like. Anything at all. |
uckennety: Even if you somehow get the admission, it'll be tough/near impossible to convince the visa officer as to why you're going for an undergraduate degree at 28.Just forget that option bros. |
Oopsy:Wow! That paid off real good. |
laminaria:I was going to suggest this too onyi888:Rescan your documents with the lowest possible resolution. Depending on the scanner you're using, look out for something like in the image below Then try and compress again if need be.
|
laminaria:You can use any free online pdf compressor to reduce the size further. |
Sapph:You're most welcome. There's no harm in trying. You can go ahead and apply. UCD has the global excellence scholarship and global scholarship (covering 50-100% of tuition). Find that here: http://www.ucd.ie/international/study-at-ucd-global/coming-to-ireland/scholarships-and-funding/gt-scholarships-and-funding You can also try the GOI-IES scholarship(link is a few pages back) but the deadline is on the 23rd of this month so you gotta hurry. It's worth noting that you need to have a conditional offer from the school before you can apply for any of these scholarships. Good luck mate! |
LaaJiblik:Ta! Uncle Stop it! You don't mislead people. Nobody I know that has gone to the UK was asked to write IELTS to gain admission. It's pretty easy to get admission to a UK Uni, as long as you aren't applying for a scholarship. The top 5 unis may require you write IELTS. As long as you're not applying to Cambridge, Oxford and the likes and you passed English in your WAEC then you're good to go. I applied to a number of schools and gained admission to all of them without writing IELTS and I have a ton of friends that have studied and are studying in UK and none of whom were asked to write the exam. |
Sapph:For admission, your chances are somewhat high. As for the scholarship, it's hard to say; it depends on how good your cgpa is, compared to other people applying along with you. If yours in among the highest when compared to other people applying then you stand a good chance, otherwise, your chances are pretty slim. Contrary opinions anyone?? All the best! |
lovesavvi:Oh wow! Anyone else? We can assume they don't send any confirmation email. Guess we'll just have to wait till June to know the outcome. All the best |
Hi guys, please has anyone applied for the GOI-IES scholarship? I applied for the scholarship but didn't receive any feedback. Did anyone receive a response (perhaps an "Application Successful" email) of some sort? I didn't get any so I need to be sure I did it right and they got my mail. Wana know if i should resend my application or just wait. |
Baybie:We're on this table together! Y'all can send me a personal message too. Guess it's safe to say I've got a new friend already then. ![]() I'm Heimdall, guardian of Azgard! ![]() |
mar19:I was already clapping for you and thinking to myself "This person must be pretty good". Then I scrolled down and saw you CGPA. Thats really good. My advice: Go for it! You've gained admission and got full scholarship (without applying for it), they obviously recognise your talent. UCD is ranked 2nd in Ireland and amongst top 300 in the world (which i think is amazing). Who knows, you just might get sponsored to do your Phd as well (a phd in chemical science isnt beans). Wish you all the best sir...or ma |
mar19:Kindly clarify so we can understand you better. You applied for a program at UCD, got a conditional offer, then applied for the global excellence scholarship and got awarded the scholarship? or You applied for a program at UCD, automatically qualified for a scholarship then got both the offer for the program and the scholarship award? Which one please? |
Alikote:This just gladdens my heart. ![]() Anyone studying IT related course presently in Ireland should please reach out to us. Let's know how it's been. Any chances of Interning at any of the IT companies there? |
erico2k2:Thank you. That's why I was saying rather than blame the buyer for not having enough knowledge about cars, we should query the company for fraud. The company's report stated that the car was in top condition (that on it own sef is misinformation). There are too many reasons why they should be taken to court. I hope we all play our part to take Nigeria forward. Cheers bro |
erico2k2:I know how difficult it is to do business in Nigeria but this is the mentality we need to correct. It's like you dont get my own point. They should stop these guys! It is cruel and unfair for them to keep doing that! If no one calls them to order, they'll keep defrauding people and they'll get away with it. This is the reason why good people become bad in Nigeria and bad people remain bad (or become worse sef). They see that they can do something this terrible and go unquestioned. That's why Nigeria is where it is today. |
