I don't think you need to book accommodation before applying for a study visa. I know I did not book when I applied for mine. Chibabe4Christ: |

Hello, please is it a problem if my company cannot provide payslips because it’s a startup? However I submitted my salary account and indicated my monthly income that’s properly narrated and I asked my employer to state my income in a reference letter. My father is actually the one sponsoring me and all his documents and payslips are intact. Please I need your responses. Thank you |

I think you're covered. I had issues with my visa application because of my payslip but then I asked my employer to state my income and the tax I pay and the rest is history. Tolu1411: |

Hello Bjrokenhear003, I saw your post days ago but I couldn't get to comment as I had alot of catch up with and deadlines to meet, but I have about 10days break so I decided to add my little contribution. Firstly, congratulations on your 1st class from Griffith College. What I am going to suggest might not be applicable in Ireland as I don't know much about the system, but this worked for me in the previous country I was. Does the visa you have allow you to work for a company as an intern without them sponsoring your visa? If yes, you should considered applying for graduate internship in a company you love to work in and has what it takes to sponsor someone. Even if it's working for free for 1 or 2 months ( suggest working for free if they say no opening, tell them you want to learn), this experience would boost your CV,with this you can show you have got Ireland experience relevant to your field and you might be favoured at the end to be retained and become full time employee. While you do the internship, don't stop applying for jobs o. Also, you can change your approach of applying for jobs. You can search for companies on LinkedIn especially in Ireland, connect with top personnel and chat them up, ask for potential internship or graduate roles. Even if no roles advertised on their website, they will refer your CV ,that's if they want you to send it to them. You need to sell yourself, you have a 1st class, and ACCA which is plus to any company. Don't limit your applications to Ireland, try other countries Netherland, Switzerland,UK somewhere like Scotland ( I saw sometime ago that PWC, KPMG, Deloitte, EY, Bank of America in UK and some other places that were recruiting finance/accounting graduates) and now is the write time to apply for graduate roles as most companies are currently recruiting graduates including the oil and gas ( check Exxonmobil, shell for commercial roles, these companies will sponsor you irrespective of where you live) . As a back up plan for you, while you apply for jobs; like other people have mentioned, is to try Canada Express entry. You are 27years old, you already have 110 points with your age. What you need to do now , apply to WES to validate your certificates,(SSCE,Bsc,Msc (it takes about 2months, depending on how fast your schools respond), then while you wait for feedback , you have to write IELTS General and try to score minimum of 7 in Listening, Writing , Reading and speaking. The higher your score, the better. You need about 12K CAD in your account to show you can survive before you get a job , apply to be in the Express entry pool. PLEASE NOTE, JOB IS NOT AUTOMATIC ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD OOO. There are people with good results like you also applying. Like others mentioned, if you are still interested in studying, you can apply for PhD in the UK, USA Canada, Australia etc ,look for fully paid scholarship . Most phd students can work as a graduate assistant and get paid while studying . This is the little I can contribute now, I need to run as I have lot of pending courseworks to do. By the way, I have attached as link to a 35 pages pdf of companies with current openings in 2019/2020 with closing date, it was sent to us by my school few days ago, look through if you find anything relevant. I tried attaching the Pdf directly here but it was larger than 250kB maximum accepted size for documents. Kindly copy and paste this link on any browser to download it. If it doesn't work, kindly send me a message to my email address above and I will forward the pdf to you directly. https://wetransfer.com/downloads/ea7ca357fe49c7abd422ce7d13cace2020191024115032/f2c59d77be148922a4fe1c71375781c920191024115032/456e2e The above link expires in 7 days ( 31st October 2019) and you wont be able to download the pdf again. Goodluck. Regards. Louis NB. Please, don't take a wrong decision to marry out of frustration, desperation or depression, unless you truly love the person. Bjrokenhear003: 10 Likes 1 Share |

Good Day sir, My name is Ajibola Olatunji. I am also interested in the proceedure, my wife is also a Nurse(RN,RM and BSc). Please sir, i will need ur help to guide on the proceedure u and ur wife follow. Thanks in anticipation. Regards. ]Hello Everyone. I have been a silent reader on this forum. Most of the posts I see here are for study visas. Actually my wife is a nurse and got an employment with one of the biggest private hospital in Ireland after obtaining her nursing PIN. The hospital got her a critical skills employment permit which enables her to apply for visa with her family immediately, which we did on the 24th of July 2019. My wife's application was for employment while that of me and our four kids were for join family. My wife's visa has been issued and she traveled to Dublin to resume work but the embassy is yet to release ours. They said the application is undergoing some checks and next four days makes it 3 months whereas they said visa application will take about 8 weeks. Our application is being processed at Abuja Embassy. [/quote] |

You need to submit originals of all documents. It's boldly written on their website. You'll submit originals and two photocopies each. The originals will be returned to you once a decision is made on your application. Emmanuel360: |

Louiscares: @Bjrokenhear003 Totally agree. Graduate internship is a good way to go. Also i feel like your University/college could have done more to prepare you for the world out there. In just 2 months here, AIT arranged 2 career fairs for students, one in Dublin and on school premises. We had the opportunity to engage with representatives from different companies and discuss about future openings and how to apply for them when they open. We've also had series of seminars on how to prepare for interviews and other interesting tips. See, las las, information is key, don't lose hope. 2 Likes |

Hello guys, I have been away from here for a while due to some reasons. A few people sent me private messages during this period, which I tried as much to reply to. Although some people didn't like the response they got. Some want to be spoon fed even when I have answered their questions in my previous posts. That wasn't encouraging for me. Because the reason I wrote the comprehensive post of settling in for students is to avail people of the information without much contact. To the owner of this thread, I will suggest you ask moderators to put my posts on settling in as pinned post on the first page of this thread - that way, it would be easy for people to see it. That is by the way. To the crux of this post - having followed this thread for some time, and a contributor to it at some point, I can make bold to say that I understand the plight or sentiment people share about getting a graduate job in Ireland. If the word of Wole Soyinka stands that "it is better to heed marital advice from a polygamous man than taking such from a chronic bachelor" then I think my take on this is different and could further put things in perspective. Why am I saying this? I have read a couple of admonishments to the accountant guy who made a First Class from Griffiths College. Why most of those advice could be said to come in good faith, they don't speak to the reality of the Irish situation. Bjrokenhear003, I believe you will see this. Congratulations on your excellent feat of bagging a First. It shows you were dedicated to your studies while it last. Beyond the euphoria of the First, I believe reality of the times are already making you think of the unusual. It can be crazy after such feat that you are still struggling to cut your teeth in the Irish corporate world where you still have to do unskilled job for survival. It is the harsh reality and believe me, you are not in it alone. People have been through it and still going through it. It is a phase and it will surely pass. After every storm, there is always a silver lining. Keep your head up and don't lose sight on your goals. Time is what it takes to heal wound as they say, so I have no doubt that you will get something in no time. But while hoping for the break, you need to make yourself happy. And stay away from your present work when you think your mood doesn't fancy it. And when you choose to do it, let the cash be your motivation. Since there is no prospect in such unskilled job, one is in it for the money. No doubt about that. So you need to save up from what you do presently. It is very important as you need cash to make plans for whatever options you have in mind. While at this, desist from people who don't understand happenings and always asking you where you work now or what you do. You need your head sane at this stage hence no room for negative vibe or energy. At your age, you are still in your prime, a time to explore, set goals, dream and achieve dreams. So don't be perturbed by this temporary phase. Your case is different I must tell you. Your course of study is a popular one and one that is in high demand. So it is a game of number ahead of you. Make it an habit to apply for jobs daily. At least five openings a day. Because you can't tell where the breakthrough will come from. The more interviews you get, the higher and closer you are to getting an offer. You could also ask someone else to review your CV for you. Have a great presence on LinkedIn. Attend career fairs. But in my own opinion, the Internet is still the place to get it done. Your religious beliefs shouldn't be left out too, as there is much emphasis to that in our part of the world. So be guided accordingly. In all of this, make your plans "SMART" I believe you must have heard that before. Of the "smart" I will implore you to dwell more on the "T" which is time. Goodluck in your pursuit. I wish you the very best. I am routing for you and I look forward to hearing your testimony in no time. Cheers. 6 Likes 1 Share |

If you're in Abuja, I would suggest you stop by at the embassy. I had this issue with my visa also. I submitted my appeal on the 18th of July and I didn't get any call till the 3rd of October. Apparently, my visa was ready since the 27th of August but, according to them, they couldn't reach me (which is impossible cause I kept calling them and sending emails) and that I should have come to the embassy when I didn't hear from them after a month. All the best with your appeal. Yemiiee: |
