Why has Ucap disappoint US in 2025?
Obviously you guys didn't read the financials and concentrated only on declared dividend forgetting the dilution from last year bonus. Profit almost doubled. UCAP is a solid stock. Those selling might regret later

Definitely, average volume for the past two weeks is 2m, the market isn't stupid.

Also looking at buafood results, there is higher chances that there is an improved result as buafood record 72% return in sugar segment.
Buafood is fine but their dividend is too low for me.

Based on the volume of trade, there might be an improvement in their result.

To provide some context, Chapel Hill Denham Nigeria Infrastructure Debt Fund is a closed-end investment fund that invests in infrastructure debt securities in Nigeria. The fund's objective is to provide regular income and capital preservation to its investors.

Now, regarding your observations:

1. Dividend payments: The fund's dividend payments of 4-5 Naira per share, four times a year, translate to a relatively high dividend yield. This could be attractive to income-seeking investors.
2. Return on investment: With an estimated annual return of 19%, it's possible that investors could recoup their initial investment within 4-5 years, assuming consistent dividend payments and no significant changes in the fund's net asset value.
3. Online stock price reporting: It's puzzling that online stock price reporting platforms don't seem to have this fund listed. This might be due to various reasons, such as:
- The fund's relatively small size or market capitalization.
- Limited liquidity or trading activity in the fund's shares.
- Technical issues or data feed problems with the online platforms.
4. CSCS website listing: The fact that the fund is listed on the CSCS (Central Securities Clearing System) website, but below Chams, suggests that CSCS might have more comprehensive or up-to-date information on the fund.

To better understand the situation, you may want to:

1. Verify the fund's listing status on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) website.
2. Contact the fund's management company or registrar to inquire about the dividend payment history and any potential issues with online stock price reporting.
3. Check with online stock price reporting platforms to see if they can provide more information on why the fund is not listed.

the reason i posted this here is because this stock has been paying certain strange dividend which is very on usual in the nse while transpower, geregu, transhotel will be paying 1% per year CHDNIDF will be paying 19-20% per year
I think the stock is no different from money market funds which is why people are not rushing it. The do the same the thing and their dividend yield is roughly the same or slightly lower than MMF. I would play MMF instead of the stock as it is much safer for me. Their business will be affected once CBN start slashing interest rates.

I am in a cooperative, but it is not as flexible as ucee loan.
Firstly, they don't have the loan capacity i will need.
Monthly paying back is chocking unlike bullet payment after 6 months with Ucee allowing me to invest it better.
They require sometimes guarantors or surety unlike Ucee that requires no collateral or guarantors
You can't rollover cooperative money without leading to embarrassment or disgrace while you can rollover and payback Ucee for like 3 years
I get your point. For me I prefer it than these high interest loans. I can't pay that much on interest. Best of luck to you though.

Can cooperative give him up to N100 million, do you consider the bureaucracy of cooperative as per being unable to give out loans because they have given out loans compared to this one whereby your account with be funded between 48 hours to 72 hours after application.
Sure. Depending on certain conditions and the size of the cooperative. The draw back is time of processing for such amount. But with the amount he borrowed from UCAP it is possible within that timeline.

Is Airtel Starlink distributor too.?
I know of MTN which is of same SA root with Elon.

You have not seen unlimited money until the arrival of Starlink-Direct-to-Smartphone Service which will be rolled out in Nigeria by these two companies.
Don't see this happening in Nigeria anytime soon. The risks currently far outweigh the benefits. From the way it is setup traffic is first sent and processed on Starlink base in the US before being forwarded to the telcos. Not only will there be a lag time, there will be data privacy issues and loss of signal during bad weather conditions.

I structure my loan in such a way my mutual fund will pay for it. So i am not worried about the payback.
Also, it is one of the few options convenient for me.
Most banks won't grant me loan because am not eligible for it since i don't work in nigeria and not under the list of accredited companies for employee loans.
I am not a full staff neither rather contractor, so it makes getting bank loans very hard.
I will advise you join a reputable cooperative, deposit some funds and collect at least x3 of your deposit as loan at 7% per annum interest at most. The interest you guys are paying on these loans is killing man.

I think the attraction in Oando now is not price appreciation but the corporate action of share redistribution. If the ratios being speculated materialize, and with no price adjustment and no dilution as is the case with bonus, then you are looking at substantial gains.
Some bonus fit hook you for mouth

My opinion only:
I think I see where you going with that question. cheesy However, the US and Qatar will be filling the void created by the exit of Russia following the expiration of gas transit agreements with Ukraine. US and Qatar will be supplying LNG to Europe along with existing suppliers including our very own NLNG.

To answer your question, Oando via the NAOC JV is an existing supplier of gas feedstock to NLNG. Aradel will be joining via the acquisition of SPDC JV assets by the Rennaisance consortium.

Unrelated to your question, imo I expect Oando to deliver a minimum 200% (x3) appreciation to a current holding or position (not SP) provided you qualify for the share distribution and barring any unforeseen significant disruption to field operations.

Have I made wrong calls in the past? You bet!
You are thinking in the right direction. Thanks for the info. Will focus my research on Aradel then. Oando is out of the question for now for me. Bought when it was selling below N5 and sold at N70+. Don't see any value for me at current price.

Happy for you if that is what you see.I don't see such. And if I should not align with thr projection for 2025.why should I tilt towards the one coming from someone who is nobody in that business. They have proven track record which you don't even have on this small thread. So I should listen to your noise about nothing good going to happen in the country. Do I look like a teenager to you. I have lived for reasonable yrs to know better with over 20yrs actiive experience in this business to be able to make my personal call.
Sorry you calls are irrelevant to my type concerning macro economics of naija by extension the naija stock market .
Bros cool down. He is referring to analysis on US markets and the attendant effect on other markets. He is basically saying that while being optimistic about Nigerian market, it is best to be cautious as well given the global data analyzed. There is a projection that US will go into recession next year which usually happens after back to back rate hikes and their ballooning debt figures. For me, I would be careful from Q4 next year.

Anyway does anyone know if there is any partnership between NLNG and Aradel or Seplat regarding gas supply to Europe? How does NLNG source their gas? Do they explore or they buy from companies like Aradel or Seplat?

What I mean by the 10-day moving window is that it tracks all anomalies occurring within the last 10 days, starting from the current day. Each new day drops the earliest day from the list, maintaining a rolling 10-day period.

Regarding the volume anomaly, I analyzed the volumes from the past 252 days (excluding the current day) and calculated the rolling mean and standard deviation. If the current day’s volume exceeds the mean plus 2 standard deviations, I consider it an anomaly (or what stats people call an outlier). Additionally, for it to qualify as an anomaly, the price change must remain within ±2%.

shocked shocked shocked
I recall being forced to study these Stats courses in school. Never thought they would be useful to me, only cramming formulars upon formulars. I can see the value now from what you have created. Nice one Osita. Abeg, if you don't mind, can you help post weekly snapshot of the outliers? I know I am asking for too much but please indulge us. More blessings to you and your family this new year.

Japaul, prestige,Neimeth are all good picks.Sit tight and enjoy.

Been digging to see if I overlooked anything in my assessment. Now I'm inclined to think the market actually knows what's up cheesy

Factors to consider:

1. There is a willing/motivated off-screen seller at anything below N4 maybe down to N3.60? Them get am plenty and are letting some go probably because of point #2.

2. The effect of a generous bonus. 2 for 3 for declared in November 2023 and with a January 2024 qualification date. One year after bonus declaration, additional shares are yet to be issued. Who does that? While the market appreciates bonuses, this one excludes 2024 buyers. What stops a beneficiary of the bonuses from doing a yard sale if they know they will still get 2 for every 3 they sell anyway? Points back to #1.

3. Current per share data and valuation doesn't include bonus shares which introduces some uncertainty. Will the additional shares be awarded and included in FY 24? If yes, then real eps is about 52k.

Off-screen sellers are to be feared and respected in the market. There's no telling how much stock they intend to dispose off.

One chairman has been selling Chams for months now. You get too excited or impatient and you drive up the price to N2.1x and he just supplies the market like....calm down with the gragra. It was interesting to watch yesterday but keen to see the Locotrader magic when the market opens later today. The Calvary may well have arrived to overwhelm this off-screen seller. I can see he is rallying the troops. wink I hail o.

Disclaimer - All in my opinion which is not gospel so please dyor. Also, my assessment of trading activities in Chams could be wrong.
Bonus has since been distributed.

It makes no business sense to buy above 250 at the moment. If I can't get it at that price I am fine. There are other better opportunities

Going forward I'll be careful with stocks that came from NASD because some investors may need to cash out due to liquidity issues. I pity holders of aradel because it is painful to see your good investment eroding value week after week.

I think OandO is still trending because some people didn't key in when it was still very low and they are not happy about it.

Please do anyone know if my sterling bank has released their results
The golden rule is to stay away from newly listed stocks and those that just finished share reconstruction. They will always come down for you.
