It's a new cost item in the financial statements and significant. They are branching into providing IT solutions. The cost is probably for purchase of servers, storages, software, licenses, cloud subscriptions etc |

OBAGADAFFI: Oga 500k plenty o. That's more than than 40k per month. PAYE is from 7% to 24%.
Most big CEOs don't pay more than 21% That is small. I don't want to say how much I pay per month on PAYE. Whenever I receive LIRS notification I get high blood pressure. How can I legally reduce the amount I pay for PAYE without voluntary pension contribution? |

emmanuelewumi: I have issues with the financial health of this company, with a negative working capital of about N60 billion, it will take the current FCF of the company about 10 years to liquidate the existing debts of the company.
No wonder dividends will be paid in August 2023. The dividend declared is even higher than the Free cash flow of the business, this is another red flag.
This is the type of stock you should not do long term investment with because of its potential business and financial risks Ah. When will I get to this level of analysis... |

RabbiDoracle: Question :
Fidelity bank announced last year that they will be doing Private placement.
Price of this PP was not announced. When are they going to announce?
Why are they doing PP? To raise funds? What is the funds for? To support Tier 1 Capital or for working capital or both?
We wait to see. I think they did the PP in order to comply to the CAMA regulation. I get the questions though. Let's wait for who has the answers. |

ositadima1: I shared the article because I believe in people doing their thinking for themselves. I guess you prefer to be spoonfed with unsubstantiated beliefs.
If you read the article you would have understood why the bank collapsed and not because the western world is imploding, but then you find conspiracy theories more appealing, ok.
Here again some recap in my own words:
1. Bank was over-exposed on cheap bonds when they should have been more deversified.
2. Because of d post COVID wahala USA increased interest rates to stabilize their economy.
3. Suddenly the bank's investments became less valuable or bad because newer bonds offer better yields.
4. The client and investors got to know about it and started withdrawing en mass.
5. Bank can't cope with multiple withdrawal and had to sell their now bad investments that resulted into big losses. Basically, it can be inferred from your post that the root cause is the rate hikes by the FED. Oracle predicted this could happen as a result of the hikes so he is correct. If the bank had a good risk management control, they would have implemented controls before now to minimize the impact. I learnt they didn't have a CRO for months. |

BabsO2: The article refers to Naija $ bonds that they've been bearish on for a while. Not Naira bonds. Will be good to know the proportionality of FX bonds to local equities. Most likely more of a direct proportionality than inverse. In a sane environment it should. |

Ades1: It’s not just about the yield, you have to factor in the risks too, because of this I wouldn’t say FAR better.
Also don’t forget the big banks are less risky and provide higher yield. They paid way too much in income tax this year. I wonder why such an increase. How is the income tax calculated? |

kolaish: With all due respect to all.
One thing I discover not only in this thread but in the country as a whole is lack of love and inability to tolerate each other. We need to change this attitude as a people so that God can grant us His mercy as a nation. We all claim to be Christians and moslems but does not love each other through our words and action.
Saying Nigeria is/will be a ‘fail state’ is not a show of love to your nation. You should simply pray for mercy of God on Nigeria.
Telling somebody to Japa if he likes, is not a show of love. You are simply mocking that person because he is also desirous of a better nation just like you, the difference is that his choice is different from your choice. You should show love to him with encouraging and peaceful words.
Mocking somebody as ‘obedient’ is not a show of love.
Saying somebody is talking rubbish is derogatory and not a show of love. It doesn’t portray you as a good personality.
In short, we should all try to tolerate each other ESPECIALLY on this thread because our sole aim is to make a reasonable living from the economy irrespective of our political beliefs. Therefore, let us always show love through our words and action and not otherwise. I am wishing you all God’s Love and may the peace of God that surpasses all understanding continually abide with us in Jesus name. He said we should pray. Years of prayer did not save us and you want to continue praying. In a digital era, after years of preparation and billions of naira you are ignoring your own policy and collating election results manually. What could be more failed than that? Any foreign investor that invests in Nigeria is crooked one that likes investing in crooked countries. |

I just got my money back and it's painful I should used that money to buy Geregu at 100 naira my 5 million would have been worth 12 million in geregu. Thank your stars. Some disappointment is a blessing. That IPO was way overvalued in my opinion. You would have been wrecked in the long run. |

RabbiDoracle: I don't look at only TA of Nigerian stocks. I look at the TA of many global stock indexes and bonds. Once I see divergences on those global ones, I try to update and warn to see if others see same.
Like months ago, there wasn't any negative divergences in those indexes and so I assumed NSE will go on well. However, since December 2022, I have started seeing some signs of their indexes going very fast to All time high and that could create some issues for their markets. The speed of rise is concerning to me especially when you know that there are negative macro factors affecting those markets.
Since global markets are interconnected, where there are issues in the big global players, these could create tremors in smaller markets. These tremors are called contagion. And that is why I show my findings to other TA guys here for all to rub minds together and see what could go wrong/right.
I don't just buy stocks, I also investigate what could go wrong with my position that will wipe out my capital. That is how I do my risk analysis. And remember, market will not go on a straight line.
I am 80% in NSE currently but watching what could go wrong around the world.
Okuko na pa nri, anyaufio akona e--ibo adage. Oga Oracle inform us o when is time to bail. Thanks. |
