Politics › Re: Minimum Wage In Ghana Vs Barbing Cost In Ghana by helinues(op): 7:32am On Mar 27 |
galantjoe: This post is mischievous, intending to create wrong impression on gullible and uniformed readers that cost of barbing in Ghana is more than half of the minimum wage.
The op quoted Ghana minimum wage is C21 and barbing cost C15
I wanted to ask is it for daily wages, weekly or monthly. Like in Nigeria once someone says minimum wage, we are all know it is N70k per month
Now I was able to know that C12 is a daily wage while C15 is average barbing cost per 2 weeks. Let's do the maths - 2-week pay = 21 x 14 = C294 Barbing cost for once in 2 weeks = C15 Balance of wages after barbing C269
The op must be a mischiever and confusionist Don't disgrace yourself on this thread. You didn't get your information right |

Sonnobax15: . Bro,I understand you. But the truth is that these guys aren't having good times right now.
Besides, the problem is not adjusting,or even increasing your price but are the passengers willing to adjust or move along with the new price? Even among them as the keke riders, there are saboteurs who will be willing to even transport Passengers, and not move along with the new prices as agreed by themselves.
So the problem here is the fact that even among themselves as Keke riders, they don't have one voice and they're mostly disunited, which is making it very difficult for them to make profits at times like this. In every business, there are always challenges. A brand new motorbike will attract more passengers than rickety Motorbike A well looking bike rider will attract more passengers that rugged look. Some routes are not profitable for Keke business. So when things changed , you adjust This year for example, I would rather pay multiple charges for bank transfer than withdraw excess and squander the money. Things are slow, adjust |

Now on this thread, not that I mentioned you, you came by yourself, you pointed out some things which I argued in line. Now do simple thing I asked you do to before asking me any question. I asked you questions first. I am sure you must have googled the price of barbing in Ghana and see the point I am driving at, but because it will contradict all what your arguments have been about since, you just can't post the screenshot I have assisted you with the screenshot you are shying from posting Isn't it obvious that you are the one putting mouth on something you have little information about

Career › Re: Uk Man Surprised Nigeria Average Monthly Salary Is $51 by helinues: 1:25pm On Mar 26 |
Kaycee54321: Let's try this again:
In the UK, say, 700 pounds per month for a decent apartment (in Leeds for instance which is up North in the UK) takes 32% of rent. And you get to pay monthly. Since we're talking just rent, I wouldn't go into details of how feeding, transportation, tax, utility, etc, plays a role in why said nurse can still save 200 pounds...
For Nigeria, I won't be mischievous to do a one-to-one geo mapping by comparing Leeds in the North to Kaduna in Nigeria (where nurses can earn 75k with abeg)...no, I'll do a Lagos to Leeds mapping;
Assume a 250k "plum" nursing job in a Reddington hospital where celebrities come to get treated: Let's limit to rent; You will pay 1m yearly rent and total package up to 1.8m for a tiny room in Somolu. And you will pay it yearly. You'll have to beg so they don't ask for a year and six months up front. I won't go into the fact that you will need to buy foam that you'll spread on the ground and some very small utensils to get your life started... unlike in the UK, where you don't start calling carpenter to take measurements for your wardrobe because you rented.
So you may need nearly 2.5m before you can rent a room in Somolu (I'm sure you know where this is)... meaning you don't get to touch your salary for 10 months before you can get your own small room, with foam on the floor in an environment littered with smoking agberos.
As a nurse with the responsibility of saving lives.
Helinues, does this give you a better perspective? - I see you live abroad.
Would you rather live it, to believe it, here in Nigeria? Lack of exposure is what led you to this arguments Someone earning 2k Euro in any Europe countries and someone earning the same 2k Euro in Nigeria ( Content creators are now earning that that amount in Nigeria. Between the 2, who will have value for their money, spending on their hard earned money. May be you couldn't comprehend my whole epistle hence trying to be arguing blindly. You can revert back to the initial comments for better comprehending |

Islie: How much do you use to barb your hair in Nigeria if you want to do comparison
A daily wage from Nigeria is 70k/30days Most barbers will charge 2k or more for barbing isn't that equivalent to a minimum wage per day? Before asking your question about Nigeria, I asked you to show the screenshot of your results from Google about barbing in Ghana. I had my reasons for asking |
Career › Re: Uk Man Surprised Nigeria Average Monthly Salary Is $51 by helinues: 1:19pm On Mar 26 |
Ishilove: Oga, how much is a Euro to a dollar, and how much is 1EUR/1NGN? Answer that question instead of making such ridiculous comparisons Use whatever rate you like. Someone earning 2k Euro monthly in Europe countries and someone earning that same 2k Euro in Nigeria, The streamers and content creators are now making more than that amount in Nigeria in a month. So Between the person in the Europe and Nigeria earning same amount, who will enjoy the money most, have value in spending for his earnings |
