Kaycee54321: Let me indulge you a bit with a simple scenario:
A low band nurse in the UK can net 2K pounds. Assume frugal living, he/she can save 200 pounds per month, afford vacations and still live a decent life.
Same nurse working in a "well paying hospital" in Lagos can earn 250K. A room self contain in Somolu can cost 1m a year. Very small room. The quality of life is sub par, to put it nicely.
This is me trying to ignore the fact that many nurses earn 100k or less in Nigeria, making them easily susceptible to killing you "mistakenly" when you have the ill luck of landing in a hospital in Nigeria.
PS: I'm just seeing that people are taking the time to share comprehensive breakdowns of cost of living in Nigeria. I'll see how you respond...
Personally, I'd prefer to believe that you're intelligent pretending to be dumb (for whatever personal reasons).
It'll be a tragedy if you really believe half the things you type. You are actually the one sounding dumb on this thread even with my basic explanation. Those who are living in abroad and earning high, how much are they paying as bills, how much are they paying as tax? A nurse in Uk earning net of 2,000 pounds per month, how much is rent alone taking from her salary compared to someone earning N250k in Nigeria with the amount they spend on rent |
Politics › Minimum Wage In Ghana Vs Barbing Cost In Ghana by helinues(op): 12:56pm On Mar 26*. Modified: 1:27pm On Mar 26 |
https://www.nairaland.com/8642104/uk-man-surprised-nigeria-averageIn reference to the thread above Some Nigerians don't even know the basic principles for placing minimum wage amount. There are so many factors to be considered before government can set minimum wage amount. I remember when the NLC was discussing the new minimum wage, my proposal was not more than N70-N80k after so much factors was considered In the case of Ghana and their minimum wage, Average current minimum wage in Ghana is 21GHC but the average cost for Barbing as a guy is 15GHC and that even depends on area and the shop. That price of foods, goods and services in Nigeria are more cheaper than majority of the countries is not something magical |

Etiyeokwe: Nawa o. You said that things are cheaper in Nigeria and still said that data is expensive. Data generally is expensive even though it's cheaper in Nigeria. So why wasting money on something you are not generating income from. |

Kaycee54321: You're either a really intelligent man, playing dumb...or a very dumb man, pretending to be intelligent. Shun tantrums and answer the questions I asked. Those with no substance always like to resort to tantrums the way you did above What's the minimum wage in Ghana? How much is barbing cost in the same Ghana? Una go dey use local exposure to be arguing something international |

Ishilove: Kindly refrain from commenting about things you don't know about. It is very irritating. How much is the minimum wage in comparison to the cost of living? You don't live in Nigeria so it is very easy for you to make all these kinds of ignorant comments. Tell us what you know. How much is their monthly salary, how much is their monthly bill? How much tax do you pay in Nigeria compared to those abroad. Someone in Europe, Baba O n Sha nla, I think Germany posted 3 mackerel fishes and ask how much it cost in Nigeria as he bought it at equivalent of N40K. Wondering why some of you just like to be arguing blindly |

Richtaiwo: Most importantly, Nigeria annual budget hovers around $45b with a population of around 250 million while UK with population less than 70 million has averagely annual budget of $1 trillion. Nigeria is not as rich as UK. Bro, stop wasting your time engaging with those people, they can never be positive with any discussion while you won't still learn a thing from the discussion plus the time wasted |

alanto: Truth be told more needs to be done on our wages. You don't live in Nigeria. I spend over 100k on feeding every month. Then we can discuss bills, clothing, transportation, school fees. It's crazy... People end up begging to fill the gap. I know it didn't start from this present administration but we need to do more about our minimum wage it's crazy. It's always been crazy. Our minimum wage have never been enough to take care of a family person. Only OK for fresh out of secondary school boys and girls. The reason why the minimum wage can't be increased for now is because there are still too much of ghost workers in the system When the debate about the minimum wage came, I am the first on Nigeria social media space to have suggested nothing less than or more N70-N80k Increasing the minimum wage above that amount currently will cause inflation |
Career › Re: Uk Man Surprised Nigeria Average Monthly Salary Is $51 by helinues: 8:17am On Mar 26 |
What people don't know is, price of things are cheap in Nigeria . How much is an average 1 room in Nigeria compared to other countries?
Why are other countries in Africa for example not throwing parties the way we do in Nigeria?
Compare ordinary the price of a beer in Nigeria with other countries and see the reason.
Though the minimum wage in Nigeria is low but with low price of goods and services, we should be doing better if we reduce our unnecessary spendings
Religion, festive activities and parties cost a lot yearly in Nigeria now add expensive data people are still affording even though they don't make money on internet |

If you are into importing and exporting business, you don't even need any explanation to feel the policies of this government
The price of goods and services and foods that are coming down are not by mistake, it's the policies effects . Masses are the consumers of the imported products. Direct benefits from the government |

bolaayenimo: Hmm..i believe you 💯 Winning Nigeria election with no rigging, you will still need anything from N100bn. When I see the opposition candidates claiming they are popular and relevant, I only laugh at them. Atiku could have had no issue in raising more than that amount for election, but he's exhausted financially after the 2023 election Abi, you want to tell the market women you are a saint from Pluto without giving them something and expect them to vote for you. How about the association, groups, the kings, obas across Nigeria. You want to promise them good will without them having anything in their pocket |
