No matter how you spin it, an Igbo candidate in APC will fail.

Understand the election trend in Nigeria. The SS and SE most times always vote the same way to an extent and that is a blessing and a curse at the same time.

Let’s do a simple analogy. Let’s say APC field Okorocha and PDP fields Peter Obi in an election.

For the SW: the vote will be divided because the Yorubas usually vote 55/45 when the candidate is not a Yoruba. Check all elections where the leading candidates are outsiders to understand what I mean. I score Okorocha 55% here.

For the SS: I can bet it that Peter Obi will win at least 70% of their votes and Okorocha will only muster maximum 30%.

For the SE: Peter Obi will win with at least 85-90% of the votes.

For the NC: It will almost be 50/50% for both candidates.

For the NW & NE: The vice presidential candidate will be the determinant. There will be voter apathy and even if APC will win it won’t be over 60%. The North will be somehow indifferent and let’s say Okorocha win 60%.

Now do the Maths yourself to see that APC will dig their own coffin if they present an Igbo president against an Igbo presidential candidate in PDP.

If APC field an Igbo presidential candidate and PDP does the same, then automatically the PDP Igbo will win in Igboland and what will be the gain of the politicians in APC?

Also if APC field an Igbo man in 2023 and PDP field a Fulani man, the Igbos will also vote for the Fulani man in PDP coz they even failed to vote for Ojukwu when he contested under another party.

Hence, no matter how you spin it, APC will be stupid to give their slot to an Igbo man. It will be the end of APC as a ruling party.

Igbo culture existed since the BC, and reached its height exactly the period Nri soujorned into the heartland. Nri and other Eri offshoot were middlebeltern Igbos pushed out from present Kogi by the Akpotu groups.

Again, Oraeri never founded Igbo Ukwu artifacts. They actually displaced the original occupants of that land. In addition, Pre-historic Igboland would have began from present Ondo curving into the plains of Igalaland to the Kaduna valley and running down to where the Oru (coastal Igbo) domiciled. However, the rise of Igodomingodo may have pushed the Igbos to move east as well as the coming of the Akpotu(Igala) groups who pushed the Eri groups to cross the Niger into the heartland.
