Murtala Square (formerly known as Kaduna Race Course) is a public square in Kaduna. It was historically the venue of horse racing events and it is also the location of the Kaduna Polo Club ground, Kaduna State Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Indoor Sport Hall among others.

The square also hosts facilities like gymnasiums, an indoor sport hall, football fields, a hockey pitch, etc. Many public events are held at the square, such as the Kaduna Grand Durbar, Kaduna Centenary Celebrations, Nigeria's Independence Day parade, May Day, Inauguration Ceremony of Governors, Army Day, Human Rights Day, etc.


The square was in a bad shape and the administration of Governor Nasir El-Rufai decided to remodel, reconstruct and renovate it. The renovated Murtala Square was commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari today. Here are pictures of the square.

A video shared online captured the moment a man was electrocuted while trying to save a bird trapped on a high tension wire, IgbereTV reports.

In the video, the man climbed on an electric pole armed with a long metal. As he tried to hit the bird to free it, he hit the high tension wire with the metal and he was electrocuted. The spark caused him to fall to his death.

The girl in the pics is 6years old, due to the family being poor, she was handled over to somone that needs help, the family is from Nise Town in anambra.

Within five months of living with her, she so maltreated her, burning her with hot electric iron in the stomach several times as you can see from the picture, using niddles to perforated her lips.

The last she did and was thinking the kid will die was cutting the skin's from her head as you can see, and ask the kid to flush it through the toilet.

Thinking that she will die, she put her in a vehicle and drop her in the girl's family house in Nise and zoom off. Leaving the family to go and threat her open skull, that was when they discovered both the ironing of her stomach and other maltreatment.

Two days ago, Sunday 5th September, my sister, her 4 friends and 4 other customers were robbed at an eatery in Ogunlana Drive Surulere.

Time of the day 2pm!
Most people, just like her were coming from church and having a good time at the good time at an eatery.

The three criminals walked in, one at a time, hey hey, surrounded everybody and took all their phones. They went inside the inner room, took laptops and some money and left. They injured some people. My sister was unlucky, her bag was on top of the table, one just casually grabbed it and walked out. No gun shots.

They took all their phones. Then my sister's bag had, two phones, 3 ATM cards money, ID cards, driver's licence etc.

After the theives, for most of them, their first time encounters, they sat there, traumatised, crying, panicky, confused etc.

They called the police, it took till 5:30pm before the police arrived, the resturant replayed CCTV, they guys faces were seen, some other abrakadabra and told they were told to come back to station for statement the next day (Monday).

Monday morning first, she went to GTB and she was informed that the criminals took a loan of 500k from her account because it was her salary account.

Unbelieveable, right? YES!
