Carlo Ancelotti and Karim Benzema have received the award for the best coach and the best player of the 2021-2022 season respectively. Both the members of the ‘technical staff’ and the Real Madrid player squad, have been awarded after the UEFA Champions League draw, where the seven groups have been formed.

Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte charged by FA after Chelsea v Tottenham clash

Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte have each been charged by the Football Association (FA) following their clash on Sunday after the Premier League match between Chelsea and Tottenham.

The pair were both sent off after an angry confrontation following the full-time whistle, as Spurs equalised six minutes into stoppage time.

It is alleged that the behaviour of both managers was improper.

They have until Thursday, 18 August to respond to the charge.

It follows an investigation launched by the FA into Tuchel's post-match comments about referee Anthony Taylor.

The German suggested Taylor should not referee Chelsea matches in future.

launchers with

Ukraine’s forces attack

with guided missiles

distance, out of range
of Russian artillery,
according to a senior
defense official.
With the Himars
system, “Ukraine has
now been successfully
striking Russian
locations within
Ukraine, deeper
behind the frontlines,
and disrupting
Russia’s ability to
conduct artillery
operation,” the official
said.
The package will also
include 1,000 rounds
of a new kind of
155mm ammunition
for artillery supplied
by Ukraine’s Western
allies.
A senior defense
official said the new
artillery rounds were
both longer range
and more precise that
what the Pentagon
has provided
previously.
“It offers Ukraine
precise capability for
specific targets. It will
save ammunition; it
will be more
effective,” the official
said.
The official declined
to say if the new
ammunition were
Excalibur rounds,

German Regionalliga West side SV Straelen has confirmed the appointment of former Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh as the new team manager, ending the 47-year-old’s four-year stay without a coaching job.

Straelen’s boss Hermann Tecklenburg revealed that the club decided to hand Oliseh a one-year contract after fruitful conversations over the past couple of weeks and that the former Juventus midfielder is excited to take over at Römerstraße.

“Yes, Sunday Oliseh will be our new coach. A good 14 days ago, we had delicious asparagus at the Straelener Hof,” Tecklenburg said, as per Waz.

“That was a good conversation. In the last 24 hours, we were also able to discuss an employment contract until June 30, 2023.

“On Wednesday 21 June, Sunday will lead the first practice session. We look forward to working together.”

With the appointment, Oliseh returns to Germany, where he spent seven cumulative years during his playing days wearing the colours of FC Cologne, Borussia Dortmund, and Vfl Bochum. He was a member of the Dortmund side that lifted the Bundesliga title in 2002.

A key member of Nigeria’s victorious Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games squad, Oliseh played for Juventus, Ajax, and Genk before retiring in 2006.

The defensive midfielder took up a role in management shortly after, leading Belgian side Eupen as sporting director in 2007.

Oliseh was appointed Super Eagles manager in 2015 but barely lasted nine months in the saddle before he resigned due to disagreements with the Nigeria Football Federation.

In 2017, the former RFC Liege star was named as the manager of Dutch second division side Fortuna Sittard and was doing well until he was dismissed towards the end of the season.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has agreed a new five-year contract with the Gunners.

The 23-year-old, who was due to be out of contract at the end of the month, has made 92 first-team appearances and scored 23 goals since his first-team debut in 2017.

England suffer shock 4-0 home loss to Hungary as Nations League misery continues

England are staring at the prospect of relegation from UEFA Nations League Group A3 after suffering their worst home loss since 1928 with a 4-0 defeat to Hungary at Molineux on Tuesday.

Roland Sallai found the net in both halves to propel the visitors to their first away win against England since a famous 6-3 win at Wembley in 1953. England's misery was compounded in the final 10 minutes as Zsolt Nagy and Daniel Gazdag scored further goals and John Stones was shown a second yellow card to make it one of the worst nights of Gareth Southgate's reign.

England remain winless and bottom of their Nations League group with two points from four games, including a 1-0 defeat to Hungary in the reverse fixture earlier this month. Hungary top the group on seven points, ahead of Germany and Italy. The group winners go to the Nations League finals next June while the bottom team are relegated.

England captain Harry Kane, who provided some of England's few moments of quality and hit the bar with a header, acknowledged his side's second half capitulation was "unacceptable" but urged fans to be forgiving.

"It's our first big defeat in a long time. It's not time to panic, it's time to keep our heads up," he said.

"We have to take it on the chin and move forward, prepare for the World Cup, we'll learn a lot ... Let's not forget where we've come from. It's not going to be perfect every game."

After reaching the semi-finals of the last World Cup in Russia then narrowly losing last year's Euros to Italy, England have high hopes for the Qatar World Cup at the end of this year. But their dismal form in the Nations League has baffled fans and saw boos ringing out as they traipsed off the Molineux pitch.

It was the first time England had lost a home match by four or more goals since March 1928 when Scotland beat them 5-1.

Terem Moffi, the Lorient of France attacker, has appeared in the vast majority of the side's Ligue 1 matches in 2021/2022, making 37 appearances overall and playing 2,736 minutes. He has started in 34 of these appearances across their 38 fixtures and come on as a substitute on three occasions.
The last time that Moffi featured in the league came on May 21 for Lorient versus Troyes; a meeting that he played 68 minutes in during a 1-1 draw. The attacker has scored eight Ligue 1 goals this season. He has been shown one yellow card.
It was against Reims on May 1 when Moffi last scored, netting in a 2-1 defeat. His opening goal of the campaign came in the 1-0 victory against Monaco on August 13.
