SPORT National Sports Festival Opens In Colourful Style In Asaba (Photos) The curtain was opened for the 2022 National Sports Festival on Wednesday with colourful opening ceremony performances at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, in Asaba, the capital of Delta State. With dancing, music, calisthenics, and fireworks, the performers gave one of the best festival opening celebrations in recent memory. Sunday Dare, the minister for youth and sports development, as well as the governors of four other states—Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Douye Diri, the executive governor of Bayelsa State, Godwin Obaseki,Edo State and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto—were in attendance. Three Killed As Uncompleted Building Collapses At Stephen Keshi Stadium In Delta (Photos) Three people are reportedly dead after the collapse of a multi-sports complex being built at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State. The incident, which took place on November 10, 2022, in the morning, resulted in numerous injuries. The 21st National Sports Festival is scheduled to take place at the stadium on November 28, 2022, and the structure is currently under construction. Sunday Dare, the minister of sports and youth development, recently inspected the site and declared the facilities to be 80% operational. Although the exact reason for the collapse is still unknown, it was learned that the rush of the construction to fulfill the project’s delivery date for usage was likely a contributing factor. The restriction implies that any US Dollar note below 2021 printed date will no longer be accepted or be a legal tender anywhere in the world… This effort is to curb billions of illegal monies in dollar bills warehoused around African continent emanating from drug related, terrorism, kidnapping and money from corrupt politicians. As part of the enforcement of the strict action plan, African central banks will be assigned with a special agent from the Office of the Comptroller of Currency, Administrator of National bank United States of America to checkmate all inflows and outflows of dollar transactions. The report also has it that US president has also written to British Government and European Union to tour same line and redesign their currencies accordingly to frustrate those with ill-gotten money in US dollar, British Pound Sterling and Euros. Igbere Tv News Crime Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested a 29-year old Ume Ifechukwu Clinton for impersonation, computer related fraud, obtaining by false pretence and money laundering. Clinton was arrested on October 18, 2022 at No 46 Atoke Gbadebo Street, Isheri, Lagos, by operatives of the EFCC, following a news story published by an online portal: foundation for investigative journalism narrating how Clinton defrauded Axelle Mahieu, an educator working as a caregiver in Brussels, Belgium. The victim was surfing through her Facebook page in November 2021, when she saw that someone had sent her a message. The message was from Ume Ifechukwu Clinton, who introduced himself as “a friend of a friend”. As they continued chatting in the following days, Clinton told Mahieu that he was an official of the EFCC, with a fake Identity Card and Nigerian Passport as proofs. After several months of video calls and gaining Mathieu’s trust, Clinton allegedly proposed a cryptocurrency business to her, assuring her of huge profit and secured capital. After convincing the Belgian, Clinton ended up defrauding her of €45,000.
