I remember a covid 19 patient being shoot dead in North Korea for trying to escape the isolation center. Now, North Korea have no Covid 19 case.

Sometimes, to get the best for human beings, you have to treat them in the worst way possible
it was fake news

North Korea dont allow foreigners in to their country easily, except its connected with the govt so also are they strict with letting their indigenes go out except for sporting or political activities or govt officials.

with all these it's easy to tell why they have no cases

There is one BBC reporter who features in a program called, Travel Show, this guy is totally blind and partially deaf yet BBC employed him to travel the whole world and report back!
To me, that is completely weird.
damn it. was about to say this. that's the weirdest guy I've seen. hes been to over 127 countries and his commentary is remarkable despite being blind. hes also an author. I dont think he works for bbc but his travels have been featured on bbc.

quit this your toxic attitude on nairaland. it wont help you. it's not everyone you attack. be careful so you dont meet your waterloo. that you may have tried to do business with her and it didnt go through is not enough to come here and portray her in bad light. you can always move on. mustn't react to everything and I stand my ground. she is real and legit.

CrimeRe: Armed Robbers Are Coming To My Street Tonight by henrixx(m): 6:38am On Apr 17, 2020
Zephyr101:
for the past 4 months now, a particular set of armed robbers numbering up to 14(sometimes as many as 16) with guns such as double barrels and AK 47 have been coming to our area, this has become common due to this corona pandemic, we dont know how to fight these people, today, they shot in the air alerting us of their coming , they machete people who refuse and sometimes shoot, they can rob up to 13 houses at a go, our night guard can only blow whistle, shout and ask us to come out,

pls what can our mere cutlasses do against guns,I'm really tired as I don't sleep well at night without the fear of being robbed, or dieing anytime soon, the place is in ibadan, idi-ape ,to best way ,Iwo road side to gate market area

I will give updates as I see things if I don't loose my phone tonight, if we call the police ,they'll only end up coming late after they might have robbed and carried one's properties...
first of all you said for the past for months then again since coronavirus pandemic. then again you said 14 to 16 of them robbing 13 houses at a go. so incoherent and sounds untrue

this is how you guys spread fake news

"The come in hundreds" ... This is just a prpof that the people you see coming in hundred are still youths gathering themselves to fight an unseen enemy...

You residents who didnt know where they gathered frrom also see them as the enemy cos they are armed and chanting...

Your concerns are quite understandable but i think i might just believe what the OP said and also what the police said that the news are fake.

What kind of hoodlums storm an area in hundreds pack to rob ? Those boys are simply the youths from other parts of your area standing in solidarity to fight an unseen enemy created by the same false news flying around...

Was it not during this lockdown and quarantine that your senators just took a batch of 400 units 2020 Camry? Do you know another batch is coming grin? Don't worry, time will tell whether demand for cars will go up or not.
are you comparing a politician to a common man in Nigeria? smh.

hope you know the money is not from their pockets?
hope you know that even if theres a lockdown next 6 months, these guys will still be paid.

also before I forget. theres likely going to be a global recession, IMF has signalled it's close. so the dollar rate wouldn't even be bad as expected smiley

and lastly there will likely be an inflation in the USA, They are currently planning to pump trillions of dollars as a relief package. coupled with their recent impromptu spending on medicals which has been their highest in history.

with all these I'm sorry. the dollar rate may not be as bad if at all it will
AutosRe: If You Like Yourself, You Better Buy A Car By Tomorrow Or Else... by henrixx(m):
Openbusiness:
You always wanted to buy a car, the money is available but you keep procrastinating, you keep wasting time and delaying, looking for a seller that is in financial crisis, so you can buy at ridiculously low prices, or looking for impossible awoof deals that might be from stolen cars or scammers, or just delaying thinking that prices will go down with time, well this info is for you

Starting from Tuesday, when the Buhari lockdown is activated in Lagos and Abuja, only a matter of time and it will spread to more states, then prices of everything will escalate, especially cars because the auto market in Nigeria is controlled by the prevailing dollar exchange rate, because 95% of cars sold here were imported from abroad. Dollar has already risen, very soon in a matter of days, the effects will show up in all sectors, massive inflation is coming. So you see that 18m naira car you want to buy but have been doing shakara, the price will soon shoot up to 22m and you see that 1.2m Toyota you feel is overpriced, it will soon become 2m and that range rover evoque that you have been praying the seller will dance to your tune and sell 7m, you will dance to the reggae when the price becomes 10m. Remember when Buhari came to power and dollar crashed to nearly N500 per $, those who bought cars just before the inflation occurred were super lucky and blessed, well for some, but for others that had foresight, it was a calculated move. I know several people that bought Nigerian used camry Muscle for 1.2m, then used it for 2 years and later sold it for 1.7m. Just imagine their gain. One thing is that once the inflation hits, it won't go away immediately, the effects might last 3 - 4 years. Look at how long it took before dollar stabilized to 365 after rising to around 450. Now history is about to repeat itself and car dealers and importers will hit the gold mine again. If you have plans of buying a car, you better call your mechanic and arrange for inspection tomorrow, if it's good, buy it immediately. Because in a few days time, I kid you not, that car of tokunbo 2m will soon become 3.5m, that Nigerian used car of 750k will soon become 1.3m. The choice is yours. If you snooze, you loose. Good luck!
by the time this situation peaks or is over, the buying power of most people will have reduced, people would have lost their jobs and some would have seen their savings and business capital drastically depleted due to weeks of the lockdown.. by then buying a car will be too luxurious to consider, people will think of just feeding to survive or reviving their buisiness back to life. it is that time you may see the market even flooded with used cars as people will try to sell to fund themselves. so get your economics right. this isn't like the last recession period where buisinesses were still running at least. here we are talking of a total lockdown. millions and billions would have been lost this period.

HealthRe: Spanish Influenza Pandemic Throwback (pic) by henrixx(m): 9:49am On Mar 23, 2020
daddytime:
The funny thing is that the amount of Coronavirus fatality worldwide is still lesser than the number of deaths by influenza in the US alone in one year.

Why and how no attention is given to that as it is with this still remains a mystery to me.
the world has changed, population has increased, countries cant do it on their own, the depend on each other to survive. the world wasnt a global village then. no much regional trade. no order of a world economy as it is today. CORONAVIRUS IS TAKEN SERIOUSLY because it will lead to worldwide hunger which in turn leads to social disorder. also, it will lead to shortage of essential supplies like drugs etc.

the focus is not on the deaths but rather on other crucial aspects of life it Could affect. it is already crumbling the world economy. if it continues, some countries that depend on the world economy e.g nigeria may not have funds to cater for itself and countries it may look up to for loans may already be distressed. this is the big problem!
