A 90-year-old Kenyan woman who goes to class with six of her great-great- grandchildren is believed to be the oldest primary school pupil in the world. Sitting at the front of class four in her school uniform, Priscilla Sitienei listens intently while she writes the English names of animals in her notebook. She joined Leaders Vision Preparatory School five years ago and has also served her village of Ndalat in the Rift Valley as a midwife for the last 65 years. In fact, she has helped deliver some of her own classmates, who are aged between 10 and 14. More comfortable speaking in Kalenjin than English, she explains why she wanted to return to school. “I’d like to be able to read the Bible; I also want to inspire children to get an education. “Too many older children are not in school. They even have children themselves.” Gogo says she confronts children who are not in school and asks them why. “They tell me they are too old,” she says, “I tell them, ‘Well I am at school and so should you.’ “I see children who are lost, children who are without fathers, just going round and round, hopeless. I want to inspire them to go to school.”

Nigerian international, Obafemi Martins, has endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwumi Ambode, saying the Epe-born Chartered Accountant and lover of sports has the best programme for youths and sports as a lucrative vocation in Lagos State. Martins, who currently plays for the Seattle Sounders FC, said he was impressed with Ambode’s vision as contained in his manifesto, to use the combined sectors of sports, entertainment and tourism to get the teeming youths of Lagos gainfully employed. The 31-year-old Super Eagles player said he was happy to identify with the APC campaign rally at Oworonshoki playing ground on Monday because “I believe a sports-loving governor is what Mr. Ambode represents”. Project T.H.E.S.E stands for Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment and Arts, Sports all representing Excellence. It is one of the highlights of Ambode’s vision to make Lagos a ‘’clean, secure and prosperous’’ city-state. At a charity football match organized in his honour in Ikorodu penultimate Sunday, in which Ambode himself played, the former Accountant General of Lagos State said youth empowerment and sports development would be paramount in his administration if elected as the governor. ’Community sports centers and special scholarships for students who exhibit outstanding sporting skills will be encouraged in my administration. This will guarantee a new vista for job creation for our youths and our state will remain the Número Uno as far as sports is concerned in Nigeria’’ said Ambode, who was an exemplary cricket and hockey player at theFederal Government College, Warri.

A man has been arrested on charges of elderly neglect after he allegedly took his dead mother to a bank to make a cash withdrawal from her account, police in Minnesota have said. According to Plymouth Police, they arrested David Vanzo, after employees at the bank said that his 90-year-old mother seemed dead while being pushed in her wheelchair. Bank employees of Wells Fargo, also said that the woman’s feet were dragging underneath the wheelchair, but could not tell if she was breathing. Vanzo withdrew $850 on behalf of his mother and left. Police said when they visited the house, they found the woman in bed wearing a robe and a fur coat. Her boots were also said to be covered in human waste. Vanzo was arrested on charges of elderly neglect, but denied the allegations, saying that he was a good son who always took care of his mother. Carryl Vanzo died a few days before turning 91.

There are different characteristics of a virgin (boy ) which
