PhonesRe: The Telegram Messenger Is Better Than Whatsapp by henryskywalker2003(m): 5:48pm On Feb 21, 2015
My favorite features of telegram.

1. ABILITY TO LOGOUT. How many times do you wish not to be disturbed by messages from people online? Normally, with whatsapp, you have to switch off your data entirely which affects all your apps. Or if you are tech savvy, you either go to settings, applications, then force stop it. Or, if you are even more tech savvy, you root and install a firewall and use that to block the app. But with telegram, you can ALWAYS logout whenever you want to with little or no stress to you, and when you log back in, all the chats you missed while offline will be downloaded to your device.

MULTI PLATFORM AVAILABILITY Now you don't have to wait to get to your phone before you can chat anymore. The app is not only available on Android, IOS, and Windows Phone but it also have native apps for PC running Windows, Linux and Mac OS. But the fun doesn't end there. It also has a full featured web app that can be accessed thru any web browser. So, you can always keep chatting no matter where you find yourself.

CLOUD STORED CHATS Remember those times when you format your phone, or sdcard, or you lose your phone and you realize that you have lost all those lovely chats you had with your bae? Well, say goodbye to that. Your chats are now stored online and whenever you get a new phone or for any reason lose your chats, they are all restored whenever you login from anywhere. What does that mean, it means you can chat with someone on your phone until ur battery goes down, and you then continue the chat on your pc right where you stopped with no confusion because all your chats follow you wherever you go better than MTN does.

CHAT ON MULTIPLE DEVICES AT ONCE Due to the above point, you can chat on multiple devices at once unlike whatsapp that logs you off once it detects that you have logged on to a different device. As you are chatting on one device, all the chats are being replicated on the other device you logged into. This is especially good for those with multiple devices, so as you are chatting on your phone, it will be replicating on your tablet/PC that you are logged into.

SECURITY This is far more secure than whatsapp and has end to end encryption for your chats, lets you know when anyone logs into your account from anywhere and gives you the option to log the device out remotely, uses 2 step authentication for EACH and EVERYTIME you log in unlike whatsapp that requires that only once per device.

SECRET CHATS Someone already mentioned this but I will also throw more light. Imagine wanting to chat with that girl you met but you don't want your gf to see it on ur phone or you trying to hit on your friend's girl without him knowing, or you want to send some nudes without others seeing or saving it. Now you can with secret chats. Secret chats don't get to be saved in the cloud, so once the chat is gone, it is gone. It can deleted from both sides by any party. That is, once you are thru, you can delete the chats from your end and it gets deleted on the other end as well. You can send timed messages and files (Yeah, they had this feature way before BBM picked it up and is now selling it). Once you send a timed message, it displays for a given amount of time then gets deleted on both ends.

I bet there are lot more crazy features on telegram but these are my favorites.

I can't believe no one has mentioned it's greatest features yet. Ok let me list them here.

I'm always down with using Legitimate data... I detest all these cheat of a thing.... So I'm inclined to agree with your post.... But apparently you only opened this thread, and posted this message cos you're a data reseller, to help your hustle...., Which is all well and good... But the Irony of all this is that technically the MTN SME data plans you sell is not legitimate...., as MTN didn't make this plan for resellers such as yourself....

So basically you're "Cheating" too sad

PhonesRe: Can I Use Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5 In Nigeria? by henryskywalker2003(m): 10:39am On Feb 19, 2015
Yeah, it can work but you will have to unlock it first. I once used a Samsung Note 2 from Sprint here in 9ja. It had no sim card, so I followed some procedures in xda-developers and bought a note 2 board (roughly 4k), took the sim slot and put it in the Sprint note 2 then unlocked it. It was working perfectly. The only issue I had (really wasn't an issue though) is that you have to manually set your APN parameters otherwise , it won't browse or even show u 3G/H+ etc

Nice list @OP. But to correct an error that is consistently being made by many, the Dein of Agbor isn't the youngest crowned king and never held that title for one day. Here is a list of others far younger than him.

1. Emperor Puyi Of China. Crowned when he was 2 years in 1908

2. Pomare III of Tahiti. Crowned when he was 17 months

3. Henry VI of England and France. Crowned when he was 8 months in 1422.

4. Sobhuza II of Swaziland. Crowned when he was 4 months old.

5. Emperor Shang of Han. Crowned when he was 100 days old.

6. Tsar Ivan VI of Russia. Crowned when he was 2 months old.

7. Mary Queen of Scots. Crowned when she was 6 days old. (Her father, James was crowned when he was 17 months and her son was crowned when he was 13 months).

8. John I of France. Became King right from the day he was born. (His father has died four months earlier)

9. Alfonso XIII of Spain. Became King from the day he was born May 17, 1886.

10. Shah Shapur II of Sassanid Empire (Persian). Legend has it that in year 309, Persian nobles placed a crown upon the belly of King Hormizd II’s widow. Inside was history’s first fetal king: Shah Shapur II. The in utero ruler was the ninth leader of the Sassanid Empire, a powerful Persian kingdom covering modern Iran. Shapur II ruled for 70 years. In the late 4th century, he successfully ousted Christianity from the Middle East.

Christianity EtcRe: Curious!! Breastfeeding Inside The Church, Right Or Wrong? by henryskywalker2003(m): 1:13am On Feb 08, 2015
jnrbayano:
Behind the pew I sat this morning during morning mass, some noise filtered into my ears. Taking a look backwards, I saw a young nursing mother with a big "well-ovallized" bosom breastfeeding her baby.

I must admit, I lost concentration on the mass proceedings for a few minutes.

After a while, I turned back again and told her that it isn't proper for her to breastfeed her baby inside the church.

Her response was, "my baby is hungry, why won't I feed him?"

And my rejoinder was, "you ought to have done that outside the church building"

Whether she took the correction in good faith or not I wouldn't know because I never looked back again.

In your candid opinion, who was right, myself or the lady?
Any man that sees a lady brestfeeding and gets disturbed in any way is simply a closeted pervert. Let me give you a simple analogy that your perv mind might understand. When you see a lady's big, beautiful, bare naked azz do you get turned on? If you answer yes, that's probably normal for 99% of the guys (and some girls too cheesy wink). Now, when you see that same azz being used to pass feaces do you still get turned on? If you answer no, then you are among the 99% normal guys around. So, why you u get "disturbed" (read that as getting a hard on) and even have time to notice how well endowed the lady is when she was doing what the boobs are meant for in the first place? The thing no one here has picked up on yet was the fact that she was sitting behind u and it took u who had ur backs to her to notice her, become so disturbed that you had to turn around the 2nd time and give ur "sage" advice to her. Not the people sitting next to her, but you. It shows that after ur first "glimpse" (read that as scanning, took just a second), it wasn't enough for you and your imagination needed something more to work with, so under the pretense of offering your "brotherly" counsel (which took like 20 secs at least), u looked back and spent more time to memorize the curves, nipples and all qualities of the boobs. I bet you can't even describe to me the features of the baby but u could describe how "well-ovallised" the boobs looked to you.

In conclusion, I humbly submit that you, Mr. jnrbayano is indeed a pervert.

It seems that even the International community has seen how ineffective GEJ is as a leader, but many of us here are yet to open our eyes to the reality.
PoliticsNigeria's Horror In Paris's Shadow by henryskywalker2003(op): 12:05pm On Jan 12, 2015
As many as a million people, joined by 40 world leaders, filled the streets of Paris on Sunday in solidarity after two separate terrorist attacks claimed 17 innocent lives last week. The day before, more than 3,000 miles to the south, a girl believed to be around 10 approached the entrance to a crowded market in Maiduguri, a city of some 1 million in Nigeria's Borno State. As a security guard inspected her, the girl detonated explosives strapped to her body, killing herself and at least 19 others. Dozens more were injured.

Saturday's suicide bombing elicited little coverage compared to the events in Paris, which have dominated headlines since last Wednesday's attack on Charlie Hebdo, a satirical newspaper. Why the slaughter of 17 innocents in France receives more attention than the death of roughly the same number of Nigerians is the kind of question that can result in accusations of indifference, racism, and media bias. But the contrast between the attacks in Paris and the suicide bombing in Maiduguri actually reveals something far more sinister: the ravages of state failure.

Boko Haram is waging a ruthless war throughout northeast Nigeria, Africa's most populous country. On Wednesday, Boko Haram militants laid siege to Baga, a city that has resisted them, setting fire to buildings and killing residents indiscriminately. Hundreds of people fled into Lake Chad and attempted to swim to a nearby island. Many drowned along the way. Those who didn't are now marooned without food and shelter and have no defense against the island's swarm of malarial mosquitos. The death toll in Baga reportedly exceeds 2,000. Some 20,000 others are now displaced.

The New York Times story on this deadly siege appeared on page A6 of Saturday's print edition, while the paper's story of the suicide bombing landed on page A8.

How did the attacks in France so thoroughly bury the atrocities in Nigeria?

One explanation is the difficulty of covering dangerous, remote parts of the world, such as Nigeria's northeastern Borno State, where Boko Haram holds sway over much of the territory. A similar dynamic exists in Syria, where a civil war has claimed nearly 200,000 lives since erupting in 2011, and where relatively few journalists are there to witness it. In addition, it's likely that the Paris attack's focus on a publication touched a nerve with members of the media worldwide.

But it's not that the media doesn't cover Nigeria, or that Westerners don't care about Africans. After all, when Boko Haram fighters kidnapped nearly 200 girls from a school in Chibok in April of last year, a public campaign to bring them back attracted widespread publicity, with even First Lady Michelle Obama contributing a photograph. Two years before that, a video from the now-defunct NGO Invisible Children that highlighted Joseph Kony, the Ugandan warlord who leads the Lord's Resistance Army, was viewed over 100 million times in its first six days. These campaigns, whatever their shortcomings, did at least show that people in the West aren't totally indifferent to African suffering.

The main difference between France and Nigeria isn't that the public and the media care about one and not the other. It is, rather, that one country has an effective government and the other does not. The French may not be too fond of President Francois Hollande—his approval ratings last November had plunged to 12 percent—but he responded to his country's twin terror attacks with decisiveness. Not so Nigeria's Goodluck Jonathan. Since assuming the presidency in 2010, Jonathan has done little to contain Boko Haram. The group emerged in 2002 and has consolidated control over an area larger than West Virginia. And it's gaining ground. Perversely, the seemingly routine nature of Nigeria's violence may have diminished the perception of its newsworthiness.

Jonathan's failure to confront Boko Haram, of course, is nothing new. Nigeria has long been cursed with a corrupt, ineffective government, one perennially unable to translate the country's vast oil wealth into broad-based prosperity. During his campaign for re-election—Nigerians go to the polls on February 14—Jonathan has vowed to tackle his country's problem with graft. At a campaign rally on Thursday, the president exhorted his followers to support him.

"You must vote for your liberation, you must vote for your development, you must vote to take Nigeria to the moon," he said.

"You cannot vote to take Nigeria backward."

Boko Haram wasn't mentioned once.

I repeat, stop lying, I use the same MTN and Spectranet you are comparing.
Dude, stop the name calling simply because you don't agree with him. It all boils down to your location. For instance, in my former location (Mile 12 Lagos), ALL THE FOUR GSM, and I repeat, ALL THE FOUR GSM networks are very fast. In fact, the slowest there was Airtel and I used to get at least 4mbps on it, while etisalat goes as high as 8mbps. But unfortunately, neither swift nor spectranet was as fast as that then. The one that was fast there was Starcomms. But now that I'm at a different loacation (Festac, Lagos). Etisalat isn't as fast as it used to be. Now getting speeds of 3mbps on the average, MTN is also on that same scale, Swift is very fast so also is Spectranet. But Smile is the fastest of them all here but also the most expensive. So, what you get in one location doesn't translate to the same thing all over. This is the same thing that happens abroad where some telcos have great LTE service in some areas and only EDGE or 3G at best in some others.

nurey:
I have seen a bold 5 showing 4G but I can't really remember the mobile network, I also believe those 4G LTE networks are real (smile, swift, spectranet) so why won't they reach the recommended speed limit? The reason is throttling. When I always subscribe MTN 250 for 2hrs before they included 150mb also as a limiter any time I download file worth 100mb at speeds in excess
of 2mbs the next download is throttled and the speed won't exceed 15kbps until you exhaust the subscription.

If you want to maintain the real speed of a particular band width you pay for in Naija, then be ready to be a premium customer and you have to pay tooth and nail for it. Check all those 4G providers that have different packages with speeds starting from 512kbps upwards.

.
Dude, there's no 4G network in Nigeria. As for the bold 5 thing. It's because, when bold 5 came out, the fastest network then was HSDPA+ and it was still being contested whether to call it 4G or not. Blackberry jumped the gun and listed it on their phone. Other phones that came out after the real 4G came out have 4G as well as HSDPA+.
