He has being used as AM for England it is still same story. Foden’s type of football is he gives you short pass and then open space to receive the ball back but that type of player is not in England, I mean, Rodri, KDB and b Silva type of players, they mostly pull the intelligent passes and not Foden. Foden either square the ball or shoot. Palmer has foresight for intelligent passes that open up defense.

Bellingham as the attacking midfielder should learn to release the ball quicker, I thought he was over elaborate with the ball most times yesterday. Kane could hardly drop to influence the play because Bellingham was occupying that space and when he was upfront, the ball just wasn't getting to him because Bellingham simply is not the kind of 10 that has spatial awareness, he first has to hold the ball and attempt to beat one or two players when a quick pass should do.

Another error in their set up is playing Foden slightly to the left where he can't cut in to good effect. Gordon should own that space.

Trippier at RB is another error. I hope Shaw is fit for their game against Denmark.

Lastly, Trent still does not have a good understanding of the CM role, I'd love to see Bellingham drop deep to take that spot or have Mainoo in from the start.

The answer to what you said at the emboldened is Palmer or Maino depending on the opponent. With the astudity in England midfield Trent should be deputizing for Walker because he will be very useful in the last ten minutes of the game if they are finding difficulties to score, he doesn't even have business playing CM when you have Maino, Bellingham and Whart who can play there.

Bro I’ve done eye test on Foden, even in 4 3 3 formation playing Rice, Bellingham and him will not still make him better in England shirt, why? Because there is no Rodri in England to open passes from deep or carry the ball for long while Foden move more forward to act as a winger from the middle. There is no Bernardo sylva to play short intelligent passes with or debruyn to open passes or make daring runs that allow Foden to receive the ball inside opponent’s box 18. England don’t have these caliber of players so Palmer will be more suited to help in the technical aspect of the game like open passes, like being calm with the ball and observe Kane’s run and also like taking up Kane’s space as number 9 when Kane fall deep to create something. Kane need this type of number 10 to flourish properly.

Quick reminder, Foden has being used as number 10 in England before and it was same story.

He is being sh1t since his debut for England, I haven’t seen him play any game for them. Everything nor be tiki taka. Madrid doesn’t play tiki taka yet they are the most successful club in the world. Bellingham Rice Palmer. Because Trent honestly isn't adding anything defensively, if defence is needed then
Bellingham Rice Gallagher, Trent can play RB with Gallagher helping him at the right side
