OJURONGBE1: I shared the same sentiment few days ago Greenwood is a joy to watch and he's not even 20yet Everything he has done this season put what Odoi has managed over two season to bed . He scores fantastic goals, dribble and has a quick feet. If he continues like that, he would be a gem.
Come to think of it ,how come united were able to get Bruno Fernandez for £50m while we paid £50 and £40m for Jorginho&Kovacic who offered next to nothing in our games ? Priority it was. |

Ibime: Go and tell this to Monaco fans who want to chase him with sticks and stones. They will soon chase him to Ligue2. Every top club chased him away, now even farmers league want to chase him.
We are in 2020 and the nigga has been a bench warmer since 2015, and some mumu will still be thinking that is what Chelsea needs.
Same mumu that was defending Mikels right to be a starter at Chelsea when every manager has benched him since 2012. The same escort who you thought should be starting for Chelsea was chased to China where he relegated his team, to Championship to Turkish midtable to unemployment.
You know nothing about the defensive and possession side of midfield play, you just think someone throwing pass every now and then is good enough, when the same person will cost you two goals for every one he creates. Fabregas cannot defend, he cannot control midfield possession except against powderpuff opposition, he gets dispossessed easily in the press, and even if you think he is an AM, he cannot press or make up ground to join his attackers in big games. You are a monkey post analyst. Mehn you described Fabregas perfectly well. He Is talented, tho physically weak. SS(supporting striker) was/is his best position but most coaches he played under never utilized his ability to that effect due to tactical evolvement I think. |

Thecassanova: 4-3-3 might be the way to go
We’ve won all The 7 games we started both Mount & Barkley as double 8’s.
28/9/19 Chelsea 2 - 0 Brighton 19/10/19 Chelsea 1 - 0 Newcastle 11/1/20 Chelsea 3 - 0 Burnley 25/1/20 Hull City 1 - 2 Chelsea 8/3/20 Chelsea 4 - 0 Everton 25/06/20 Chelsea 2 - 1 Man City 04/07/20 Chelsea 3 - 0 Watford
cc hensben Yes for now. But from next season we will be playing more of 4231 formation with Zyech and Warner in the team. Attack wise, we are not that productive so it is reasonable to play double 8s, mostly against smaller teams to be able to get more chances of scoring and at same time dominating play in the middle. |

Mehn Rudiger was disappointing yesterday. Christensen is easily subdued and lack aggressiveness, any time he tried to be aggressive and play with determination he get injured. Abraham is average, he is always hiding behind opponent’s defenders hence his numerous offside, no positional sense yet want pay rise.
In summary, we should avoid stacking the team with English players seeing that they are all hype with lots of injuries, on and off performance. I still see wilshere and Walcott as potentials even in their late 20s. Imagine Odoi holding us to ransom due to transfer ban, since he got that contract nothing to show for it. We need to sign Alaba, upamenco and Havertz or Savic of Lazio, give Willian the three years deal. Sell Barkley or loftus cheek, Batman, Zouma or Rudiger and Emerson. |

BlueMann: So we can agree 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 are Lamps' preferred formations.
But let's not forget one thing: we might be seeing a two - striker formation next season with Tammy and Timo, I think Lampard hinted on that. Yeah two strikers is possible in some games. |

BlueAngel444: and you left out Abraham, let it shock up when Werner doesn't play CF or his goal output is just 15goals. If Warner click Abraham is sub at best, he can’t even time his run always offside. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 9:01pm On Jun 30, 2020 |
Thecassanova: IMO, Only few games we use a 4231, it’s a waste using Kovacic & Kante at that 2 when Kante wouldn’t not a b2b. Kante is enough in DM, We should look forward to killing our opponents off with wider goal margin. So to put attack minded players on deck, We will mostly use a 4-3-3 with 2 AM’s. If we sign Havertz Lampard will use 4231 formation more. We are playing 2 AMs because our attacking players are not productive enough in terms of assist and goals. With Zyech, Havertz and Warner we will have more return in attack while Kova and Kante do their job. Mostly against big teams these two need to start. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 7:48pm On Jun 30, 2020 |
BlueAngel444: Don't forget Pulisic could also play CAM, use both feet, drift to the left or right and play passes like that. I prefer him on the wings because of his speed but he is also very direct. 1 key difference is his aerial ability.
Maybe Lampard tries to use two forwards and plays Havertz as a RF with Timo as a LF. Not sure Havertz plays in a midfield three or drop deep like how Barkley, RLC or Mount can.
Well let's see what happens, if the 70m+ bid is accepted and see where and how he will play.
Lampard wanted more creativity they got him Ziyech, he wanted more goals having lost Hazard, Timo Werner was signed. Chelsea's focus should be on CB and LB, and give him the Ben Chilwell and Rice he wants, if he wants to even keep Drinkwater he should ahead as long as don't go back to bakayoko No need to try Pulisic in AMF seeing that he is still young and need to master that LWF perfectly. It’s not bad to have two creative player as it will confuse opponent more. Havertz can score with his head too, he is dangerous in set piece. |

BlueAngel444: I like Havertz, the clips of him I have seen and on game console. Havertz dribbles as well but maybe more direct than Ziyech or even kovacic in midfield. Well let Chelsea sign him first Yeah he dribbles only when it is necessary unlike Zyech who intentionally want to beat his opponent before making a cross which is a proper winger trait and it’s good. Havertz is like Ozil of Real Madrid, they give splitting passes and are very clever with the ball. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 6:37pm On Jun 30, 2020 |
Thecassanova: I think Lamps likes 2 AM (two 8’s) now. Kante at DM flanked by two 8’s that can keep us in attack & also sit deep to defend. See for example against city, Mount & Barkley didn’t expose Kante & were good offensively too. If we get Havertz, he will play as one of the 8s. Two attacking 8s may be the future like PEP or 05 Mou. If so where does Kovacic play? Kovacic will play CM while Kante CDM in 4231 formation. Havertz will play as AMF or SS to Warner. Kovacic will support Kante in tackling while also driving the ball half way for Havertz, Pulisic or Zyech to take it upfront. Lampard want to have more creativity and goals upfront so do every CFC fan out there. Our goal return this season have been poor so far. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by hensben(m): 5:23pm On Jun 30, 2020 |
BlueAngel444: Chelsea will likely get Chilwell for 50m+ because he is 4yrs younger, if not then maybe Tagliafico, they must be considering what the point of spending 25m on a playing then in 4years time spend more on trying to get another LB that is if Tagliafico is able to adjust properly to EPL and perform for those years.
As for a CB, Using Rudiger and Christensen as a first choice could get better. Seeing as Chelsea won't buy Koulibaly for 60m+ because he getting close to 30 has some point but if Rice can play CB then buying him would be cheaper and better.
Both of them as well as Upamenaco and even Tomori are of similar height, as long as Rice is good in the air we should get him. we either keep Zouma as a bench player he is now or sell him and buy a CB.
Buying Havertz!? Lampard has said they ain't moving for him. I believe the reason Chelsea gave Giroud a year extra is because Werner will play mainly from the left wing, while Giroud and Abraham will play CF.
whether Chelsea uses a 4-3-3 or a 4-3-2-1 if contains a DM, a CM, an AM, a right attacker, a left attacker and a striker.
If Lampard mainly uses Kante as a DM, and could use Jorginho, chelsea refused to sell, for teams that sit back to defend. Kovacic, Barkley, Gilmour, RLC could play CM. Barkley and RLC are squad players
Lampard will likely play Mount as an AM or better still either Ziyech plays it or Pulisic
Kepa; Cesar, Rudiger, Andreas, Ben; Kovacic, Kante, Ziyech, Pulisic, Werner, Abraham
with Ziyech as creativity plus Kovacic (or mount, Barkley, RLC), then Pulisic and Werner running the flanks forward, cutting the lines and all.
Who would you bench to guarantee Havertz starts!? You made good points except Havertz is not a winger, he is AMF/false 9 at best. He will easily bench loftus cheek and Barkley who are CAM/AMF like him. Mount has work rate, he is a utility player too. But in all, Havertz will bring a lot to the team, his splitting passes and eye for goal as AMF is what we need so that Kante and Kova can play their CDM and CM effectively without thinking of moving the ball that much to connect with the attackers, Havertz will be responsible for that. Zyech is a dribbler so playing him as AMF/CAM will be too risky, he should play RWF. Lastly, if CFC sign Havertz they will definitely sell one or two midfielders to create space. We need quality not quantity if we want to really compete for Epl title next season. |

Lol. Rudiger is good, he just need a leader. He is playing like Matip before VVD.Christensen is easily subdued.
Btw, Pulisic need to work on hitting the ball hard after beating the last man. Walker was not supposed to reach that ball if Pulisic hit it hard. He should try to stay fit too, aside that he is a quality player. His eyes for goal is what I mostly like about him, he will benefit greatly from Zyech. |
